Jessica C.Colorado Springs, CO157939May 1, 2010First to ReviewI will keep this simple. West Side Krav Maga is awesome because Dean Petersen, the head instructor, is awesome. He has more certifications than any other Krav Maga instructor in the Springs, and his classes are the least expensive. He also offers several options for contracts (1 year, 6 month and month-to-month) so that you can pick the best option for yourself.
Dean and his wife, Sylvie (also an instructor) are excellent instructors, giving a great blend of class instruction and personal attention. It is an insanely good workout, but I value it just as much (if not more) for the self-defense training I get. I love that I am able to use these skills and defend myself NOW, as opposed to training for years to perfect forms.

Pamela A.Metairie, LA449Dec 28, 2011I have trained with Dean and Kevin for over 3 years and would not train anywhere else in the springs. They are certified in multiple styles of Krav, but are the only IKMF school in the Springs. There are beginner and advanced classes as well as month to month, 6 month and yearly contracts. The focus here is on what Krav maga is about, you hope you never have to use it, but if you do, you are very well prepared. The classes are offered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday Mornings. Test your body to the limits and get ready for a workout like no other. Krav is not based on stances, forms or acrobats, instead it works with your body on how it reacts naturally to the dangers you face, and then builds on that. Test it out through a trial class to see if this is right for you!!

Dean and his assistant instructor were both professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend West Side Krav Maga to anyone looking for both self defense instruction and fitness.

The instructors, Dean and Kevin, are highly skilled and provide a fun learning environment. Krsv Maga is an excellent self-defense for men and women alike. I highly recommend this school.

Krav Maga is a great, no-nonsense self-defense discipline that is easy to learn and practical against attacks on the street, at work, or in home, Krav Maga also teaches critical self-defense skills for high school or college-age young adults.
At WSKM, one learns skills such as defending against gun, knife and stick attacks, and single and multiple attackers. One also learns commonsense tactics for minimizing your risk of attack.
The instructors at WSKM are great, highly-skilled and patient. There is a high sense of comradery in the classes as everyone helps each other to learn the techniques. In addition, the classes are a fun and significant workout.
I have studied at WSKM for the last 2-1/2 years and am currently training for graduate 1 level. I highly recommend training at WSKM.
