My deep belief that I'm actually a little old Jewish lady manifests itself not only mentally, but physically. The words "Oy! My aching back!" have actually escaped my lips. Unlike most little old ladies, though, when I fall, I actually can get up...albeit very slowly with ample amounts of wincing.
Alright. I'm a bit of a klutz. Around Christmas time, I hardcore ate shit and knocked my back way out of alignment. I'd fallen once prior a few years back, and never really took care of the problem. Low and behold, by the time Dr. Karr got ahold of my spine, it was a bit "mangled", so to speak.
The man is amazing at what he does. No bullshit, no time wasting. After one initial diagnostic appointment, he began treatment. Every time I leave the office, I feel like I'm on some kind of amazing high. True, it could be a minor acid flashback due to chemicals trapped from my rowdy teenage years, but I'd like to think it's my spine being correctly aligned for the first time ever.
Don't hesitate. Don't go elsewhere. All the staff are really nice and helpful. I just wish I'd taken care of my problem sooner.

I still have not received any X-rays from the $50 visit I first paid for and Dr. Karr's office has tele-marketers calling my phone day and night for the disputed charge of $65. Dr. Karr's office never mentioned anything about adjustments being $65. I was told $50 upfront and I have the email records to prove it. Don't trust this shady chiropractor. He won't give you your X-rays that you pay for and he will have tele-marketers call your cell phone day and night for a pittance.

Hum. I've been to Karr on and off over the years. I found the office on Yelp and agreed with the reviews then and now. I like him and the office. He's got a new chiropractor and acupuncturist helping him since the last time I was in. If you read his coupon on the web site it gives' all the info. NOT good with Insurance. I have insurance now. How lucky am I? lol.
I'm in and out and always feel my needs are met. I like his adjustments. Best I've had. I've been to 3 others growing up.
Ask questions the first day with his staff if you decide to continue care.

I was referred to West LA Chiropractic, Dr. Michael Karr, by my orthopedist and was not disappointed. While I was being treated, Dr. Karr was also treating two (2) other medical doctors who worked in the E.R. at Kaiser and were my students way back when. I really like the fact that Dr. Karr networks with the medical community and in fact sees many medical doctors. A good sign of trust. Where would you go if you were in the health care profession right?
So my hours are challenging and I often had to change my appointments at the last minute. Let me tell you, the staff was terrific. All they ask is that you put their phone number in your cell phone and just be mindful to call them if you need to update your appointments. Betty was very considerate that way.
The office is relaxing and up to date with correct technologies. The digital XRays were wonderful I must say. I really like looking at them on a big screen. 37" screen that is. lol.
Look at the end of the day, I really like chiropractic care. I discovered it by accident, but am hooked. It's a very personal type of healing art so good with what you feel makes you better. I like Dr. Karr because he is clear when he speaks to you, the office is run well and not rushed. Betty explains or answer your questions regarding your insurance as well as someone can given the insurance companies spin on info. (FYI- I paid a $10 co-pay each visit).
In addition, Dr. Karr has a gift. I feel for me he is a healer. I am around plenty of doctors at work and am friends with all of them, so when I say Dr. Karr comes recommended it is based on the fact that I have a working knowledge of how doctors & offices conduct themselves.
I have never gotten a bad comment from any of the staff and friends I have sent to him and I've been referring to Dr. Karr for nearly eight (8) years now. I feel Dr. Karr reflects positively on me when I refer others to him. If it's an issue go to someone who will deal with it properly.

I would NOT recommend this chiropractor.
I went in about a year ago seeing that at the time he had 5 stars even though his location was a schlep and away from my house.
I thought it would be better.
I WAS WRONG.
I did not get any sort of quality treatment from this clinic at all.
First of all, I saw Karr once for 15 minutes, since the initial stuff was done by someone else. He reviewed my x-ray and after a few minutes immediately diagnosed something ridiculous that I knew was not right.
I told him a couple of reason why it was probably like that, he didn't even listen, he just kept pushing for 'weekly treatments'. and when i opted for just few visits, he said something like 'well i guess you don't want it cured then'.
Second of all, one of the reasons I sought out a chiropractor was this slight protrusion i felt in my back. I mentioned this atleat twice to this chiropractor, and he just didn't listen. He never gave me a definitive answer for it.
All I kept hearing was the sales pitch " weekly treatments'.
I am not against 'weekly treatments' but I just felt I was not getting any helpful diagnosis to what my problem was.
I just kept hearing the sales pitch.
I never went back.
I am writing this a year or so later just because I think other people who look at the 4 stars(which may change) should know.
If he worked out for you, great, he just 'didn't do it for me'.

NOT HAPPY! They are purely a BUSINNESS. It's all about $$$. They rack up the x-rays and charges without your knowledge, and every time you go in, suddenly there was a charge that you thought you had paid for and didn't know about. Very sneaky...
I had called before initially setting up an appointment to make sure they were in my network. They said they were. And after I went thru the x-rays and evaluation, they told me my deductible was twice as much as it was. I called my insurance company to find out they were in fact NOT in my network!
But, since he had gotten so many wonderful reviews on yelp, I decided to give him a chance and do 4 vists for $200. I should have left as soon as he asked me to write a review online for him during the evaluation! Creepy. Who actually asks for that? I'm no sellout!
The doctor himself, is just ok. He's not so caring. It's definitely an in and out process. I've been to better. At least PRETEND like you care about people! I wound up spending over $600 in two weeks of going there - that's including the $275 off coupon from him website!
BEWARE and watch your wallet is all I can say!

Dr. Karr was my 1st experience at a Chiropractor and thank the lord it was so great! He has become a fantastic resource and such an intelligent Dr. to work with that it is a pleasure going to visit him. Even when I was in so much pain he just somehow knew what I needed and after a treatment plan with him my body was back to being more than functional, it was amazing.
He took X-Rays before ever starting to adjust me so that really made me feel good.
They have the most amazing staff, super flexible hours, and have some great technology there that can make it so that a person doesn't have to have back surgery, which is really a fantastic step towards the right direction in this field.
His practice works on the principle of preventing pain not just correcting it when it happens.
I highly recommend anyone to pay him a visit. Thank you Dr. Karr!!!!

Referred my co-worker here for a knotted up muscle in his neck that was just not getting better. I chose Dr. Karr based solely on Yelp reviews and was understandably nervous to send him to someone blindly. Dr. Karr's office did not disappoint- my co-worker described him as friendly and professional. We were surprised and comforted that Dr. Karr took X-rays to support his method of treatment. Very thorough. My co-worker has been back three times since and is consistently pleased with the results-there is a refreshing lack of "voodoo" chiropractic work going on in Dr. Karr's office so feel confident in your visit.
Did I mention that the office also takes most insurance plans?

I just completed a 3 month treatment for an auto accident I was in. Dr. Kaar's office is nothing short of amazing. Aside from being flexible, courteous, and fun; Dr. Kaar is the most amazing chiropractor I have ever had. I was a collegiate football player and have suffered from back problems my whole life. Through his treatment, my back feels better than when I was 15 or 16 years old. They take insurance and are also open on Saturdays! They also have 2 other very effective chiropractors on staff as well as a masssage therapist and acupuncturist. If that isnt enough they have the most friendly and beautiful receptionist that bends backwards to move appointments around for the person with an ever changing schedule.

Dr Karr is the greatest chiropractor I have ever had in my life. I have been to over a dozen chiropractors in my life and Dr Karr trumps them all. He is a smart and very intelligent doctor. He employs not just one, or two, but many techniques to help adjust me. He's great. You truly don't know how your body will react to any specific technique so I am very happy I let him try all the techniques he has to experiment on me with. His office staff are pleasant, and I am very happy with him so far. He is caring, and very professional. I highly recommend him if you need regular adjustments to your body. Dr Karr is the BEST chiropractor in L.A. There is always metered parking nearby and it's just a quarter for one hour so it's always worth it. Let Dr Karr adjust you, and you won't regret it. My body feels much better since he started adjusting me just a few weeks ago. That's how good he is. The wait time is pretty speedy and I'm usually hardly waiting at all before I go in and lay down on the table to be adjusted. The staff puts hot pads on your back before you are adjusted and that feels good. Your body will not regret getting adjusted by Dr Karr."
