West Acres
4 reviews for West Acres
The largest local mall until either Winnipeg or Minneapolis, basically.
Lots of tourists used to frequent this from Canada until the Mall of America opened.
Still, they've re-vamped their inside a bit back from in the 90's and added a large, airy food court, moved the original brass iron swan fountains to another part of the mall, and added a children's playground. I'll stop by here for the Orange Julius or a quick stroll through the mall to remember the history.
Lots of locals and a place for kids to hang out. Big Nick's used to be downstairs, not sure if that's there anymore, will have to check when I go back to visit.
Free Wi-Fi in the food court area.
and there is a pretty dope fish tank in the JCPenny's wing.
Check out Jilly-Bean for a bag of candy.
The old nickname of this place was "Wasted Acres". Hell, it still might be. It was built when Fargo was only around half the size it is today. It basically serves a metro of 150,000 people or so, as the Moorhead Center Mall across the river is a joke. Because of this, you almost have to figure the people of Fargo deserve a bit better. I started going to this mall as a kid almost 20 years ago and it just doesn't seem like it has changed a hell of a lot since then except for the food court.
I heard that since I left they've gotten a Hollister now. Boooooo!!! It's only going downhill!
Whenever I end up returning to Fargo again (it's been over 2 years since I moved), it certainly won't be for the shopping. I'm feeling a little spoiled here in Nashville!

A great place for kids to hang out; I avoid it at all costs. Maybe I'm just too thrifty to shop at the mall...
