We spent 4 nights in the best suite they had. Definitely worth it. We'll be back. My only suggestion to the owners...get a new fridge and a better tv in the main sitting room. Great pillows and bedding, great lighting everywhere, the grounds are incredible, great self-parking in their own lot, attentive staff. This is THE PLACE to stay.
And, like the previous reviewer said, the restaurant is not that great. The Brussel Sprouts appetizer w/ paprika hollendaise appetizer was really good but that was about it.
Andolini's Pizza is right down the street. KILLER PIZZA.

Absolutely GORGEOUS! Our very well appointed room was large and cozy at the same time. You factually felt like you were sleeping in the master bedroom of an old southern mansion. Our room was my favorite hotel room that I have ever stayed in. On the roof there is a turret where you get 360 degree views of the city. Not only was the hotel beautiful, the staff was incredibly curteous and knowledgable.
But, it's not a typical hotel. For instance, if you are fond of sleeping in, expect to see the housekeeping staff lurking outside of your door. Most guests are up and at 'em well before noon.
TIP: skip the hotel's restaurant, Circa, it is waaaaay over hyped.

Wentworth every penny.
The 'Mansion will set you back a week's pay if you even look at it funny, but damn, it's awesome. Stay here if you want to have a very, very sexy time and your ladyfriend knows the meaning of class and can appreciate intricate inlays of extinct tropical hardwoods that only grow an inch in a thousand generations.
It's so rad you may just stay in your room and gaze upon it, despite the historical splendor surrounding you in Charleston.
They pay attention too. I requested a good bottle of champagne on the web form when making the reso, and there it was when I showed up -- an ice-cold veuve ready for action. I don't think they even charged me.
