2 reviews for Wendy Merola, MD
Dr. Merola is my all-time favorite doctor, which is why I drive from Pflugerville to Cedar Park for appointments.
She was my doctor long ago, in the early '90s when I first moved to Austin. She left her practice when she had her daughter and was a SAHM for several years. I found another great doctor then (now retired), although his bedside manner wasn't quite as warm as Dr. Merola's.
When I found out she was back in practice, I jumped at the chance to go back to her. She listens, she answers questions, she cares. It's like she's a doctor from your parents' generation, with all the technological advancements of now. She's a brilliant diagnostician, but she won't hesitate to send you to a specialist if she feels out of her depth.
Notes are taken on a laptop, prescriptions are called in to your pharmacy of choice. The staff knows you by your second or third visit. As another reviewer pointed out, the office is beautifully decorated... but what she didn't know is that Dr. Merola did the decorating herself! Her medical partner is Asian, so that's where the Asian influences come from.
You don't sit in the waiting room long either, because she doesn't overbook her day. There's really just no downside.
I've been to see Dr. Merola three times now. I really like her and her staff. They've been able to fit me in the same week I've needed an appointment.
The office is decorated nicer than any doctor's office I've been to--stained concrete floors and Asian-inspired decor. They use laptops during the visit to make notes and look up information on the web if needed (is my generic prescription on the magical $4 list at Walmart???-Of course not!). Before your first visit, you can download the forms you'll need from their website.

Everyone from the receptionist to the nurses are super nice. If you're looking for a doctor in the Cedar Park area, go here. Just a suggestion.
