Elise did a great job in managing our wedding. The staff was so helpful! They were willing to work with me and my husband's budget, they responded very quickly to emails and everything worked out smoothly and we got everything we wanted to make our wedding fantastic! Our wedding was on 11/25/11...a very perfect white friday. Though we didn't have our ceremony at Wedgewood, Elise was nice enough to open the area where the gazebo was so our photographer could take pictures of us. The pictures were beautiful in that particular area! Our captain for the night was Krystal and she was very attentive to our needs. Thanks Krystal and Elise!
One thing I do want to note is you cannot do a food tasting. I didn't like that very much because I wasn't sure what my guests and my husband and I would expect, but all the guests LOVED the food!
The staff at wedgewood is amazing, enthusiastic and full of energy . The venue is beautiful. Thank you for making our wedding unforgettable :) -

Their website states...
WE DO NOT CHARGE A FACILITY FEE, ROOM RENTAL, SET UP FEE,
OR FEES FOR TABLES, CHAIRS AND CHINA... NO HIDDEN FEES!
HOWEVER, they don't mention that they have a minimum revenue that must be met for Saturday night events of $10,000! So if you only have about 50 people, you're not meeting that minimum.
I absolutely hate companies that make false statements or hide things from you until it's time to book. You spend time doing research and going to the venue and then when it comes time to book, there ARE hidden fees and misc. amounts of money. -

Have you seen the pictures of the ceremony site?! They are breathtaking. Wedgewood also offers all inclusive wedding deals- invitations, djs, photographer- everything for a low price. I wasn't really looking for an all inclusive wedding but the pictures of the site were just...undeniable.
My FI and I decided to visit and had high hopes for this venue. While the staff were nice, we were pretty disappointed in the venue it self. The reception area was a bit old and dilapidated, although could be spruced up with the right decor. Minus points but not a deal breaker. Then we went to see the ceremony site. While the views facing the gazebo were as beautiful as the pictures showed, there is a reason why most pictures only show that one view. There is a dirt parking lot in front of the ceremony area. The only bathroom available was a port-a-potie. Beyond the parking lot is 280. You can clearly see and hear 280 while at the ceremony site. To the right of the site, is golf course. We saw several golf carts parked there, and people teeing off. Can you imagine getting married and seeing 280 to your left and people golfing to your right? yikes.
I would have given this place 2 stars, but I do think this venue is very very affordable and probably a pretty good choice for someone who isn't as crazy about privacy as I am and has budget constraints. -

This review is a few months overdue, but better late than never! The staff at Wedgewood was spectacular. My wedding was on 8/27/11 and it was truly a day to remember. The entire staff did everything in their power to make the ballroom extravagant and to meet our needs and requests. From the start of the entire wedding planning process Allison was incredibly thoughtful, compassionate & optimistic. There wasn't anything that she couldn't handle & she always went above & beyond the call of duty to make it such a special & enjoyable time for us. As the event quickly approached, Gerome ensured us that everything would run smoothly & he even hired extra staff for our event to make sure nothing fell through the cracks.
All the vendors that work with Wedgewood were fantastic! Avonne with Rosedale Floral Design has such a great eye for beauty & she's so artistic. The Cakery in Burlingame was so easy to work with & made a gorgeous wedding cake. Last, but certainly not least, DJ Shawn Storm was absolutely incredible. More than anything else at my wedding, my husband and I wanted to hand pick every song to ensure a fun dance part fit for our friends & family. He understood our styles & seemlessly created the most amazing mix of music that night. There was never a dull moment & the dance floor was always packed. I would highly recommend him for any event!
Every single person who works with Wedgewood deserves a huge thanks for a job extemely well done. Without them this wedding wouldn't have been such an amazing success. If you are looking for a low-stress & guaranteed beautiful & fun wedding, choose Wedgewood Wedding & Banquet Center. A truly wonderful experience...1 Previous Review: Show all »

The whole experience with this Company and Organization, from the very beginning dealing with Elise & Allison in the Sales Office, to the very end having Shawn our Banquet Captain and his first mate, Franklin, be our personal servers for our Company Christmas Party, was most awesome,. Their combined level of excellence and Customer Service that these five people possess, is very rarely seen these days anymore in the business world. We would highly recommend them to any of our Clients and our Friends, and have every intention of using them and their facility again and again in the future. Definite five star rating well deserved !!!

Overlooking the Crystal Springs Reservoir, Wedgewood remains a perfectly picturesque Wedding spot.
When the fog and the wind roll in, hope all the mini-dressed, bare shouldered wedding guests can pull a pashmina out of their be-satined and be-jeweled clutches to stay warm. Or drink a tall can of Budweiser, as one spirited guest seated next to me was doing.
There are little benches with a great view of the reservoir close enough to see when everyone's being seated, but far enough for the wind to carry away all the major drama being aired about the guests. Even closer to the people continuing to play golf, as the benches are situated on the hole.
Parking seemed ample, but there were only 100 people or less at this wedding. The food was pretty good and the banquet area had a nice bar section and outside patio. -

I have nothing but glowing reviews for Wedgwood. I had my wedding here in April, and had worked with the staff for over a year beforehand, planning and getting everything just right.
My wedding day was absolutely flawless and I have WW to thank for that. The staff was friendly, outgoing and incredibly efficient and organized. We were able to create a custom-package instead of using one of WW'd prepacked wedding deals. Having our ceremony site, reception, catering, and DJ all go through WW saved me a lot of time, stress, and money. They answered our questions immediately, whether it was a phone message or email.
I would definitely consider using WW again for future events. The banquet hall is beautiful and cozy with 2 outdoor patio decks overlooking the hilly landscape of the reservoir. All of our guests had nothing but compliments on our choice of location.
Thank you Wedgewood for giving me a most beautiful and memorable day. =) -

I came here a few months back in search of a wedding ceremony location. Made my appointment and met with one of the gals that handle weddings. I forgot her name but she was soo nice. She took me to the ceremony cite. When we got there it literally took my breath away and I teared up. I totally saw my wedding happen before my eyes. The view is gorgeous. Surrounded by trees and hills. It even had a little gazebo at the end of the aisle. She warned me that it can get windy on some days. But I didn't care I was sold on the location right when I stepped foot on it.
They also do complete wedding packages for a very low cost. I opted to do a traditional Chinese banquet at a restaurant instead because Chinese banquets are more like a feast....8-10 dishes family style vs. American which can consist of only salad, 4oz. meat and sides. Definitely not enough food for my family. LOL
I can't wait to walk down that aisle. -

I recently came to Wedgewood for a friend's wedding. I instantly fell in love with the wedding site location--a lone white gazebo overlooking the Crystal Springs reservoir. With the fog coming in over the surrounding hills, and a couple of hawks soaring the sky, the scene was just lovely.
I was also impressed with the service at the venue. The woman who helped coordinate the rehearsal as well as the day itself was extremely helpful. She allowed us to store wedding items overnight, rustled up an aisle runner at the last second, and even held the wedding emergency kit for us during the ceremony. In addition, the venue ensured that the bride and groom had their own personal servers as well as a plate of hors d'oeuvres set aside just for them.
The Wedgewood banquet room also had a separate cocktail area as well as a patio overlooking the grounds, so you could step away for some quiet if needed. My friend was very happy with the outcome of the wedding, and a good part of it was due to service. -

My husband and i got married on 1/8/2011 at Wedgewood crystal springs. Where do I start? The whole year that i planned the wedding was stress free, Allison and her team were so professional and timely with everything. Whenever I had a question or want to add something or take something out of my package they had no problem with it.
We booked for just the reception site and i was a little nervous because there was construction being done when i went to see it. The place looks wonderful, it elegant and not over the top so you can still add your own touches. They set everything up for you and try and make it as easy for you as possible.
The package that we got included invitations (which we took out), toasting goblets, DJ, flowers , all the food and hor derves, alcohol, cake, hotel room, and more. They recommended a photographer which we used for our engagements and wedding. We didn't pay an arm and a leg for our wedding, we were under budget, even with all the stuff we got.
On our wedding day when we arrived the DJ and head staff person came and told my husband and I if we needed anything or had any concerns to let them know. Allison even came to check on us and make sure everything was okay. When they had a question for me, which was once, the came to me. The servers were very friendly and everyone had such a good time.
There was so much food and it was all really good, all the friends and family that i talked to said they loved it. I especially liked the chicken picatta and baked salmon. The staff member let table by table go to get their food so there wouldn't be a big crowd, it went very fast and everyone had food in 5 minutes. Lots of people also went back for seconds, it was that good.
Okay now for special props:
Shawn Storm our DJ was the best DJ I have ever seen, he kept everything running so smoothly and made sure what people wanted to hear , he played. The whole night there was a group of people dancing, there was never a moment when the dance floor was empty.
Satura Cakes made our cake. We had three different flavors and the cake was gorgeous. Everybody loved the red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and raspberries.
API Photography took all the pictures we wanted and made sure that we were comfortable. With our engagements they did a wonderful job and for our wedding there was no exception, they took little detail pictures and made sure everyone was happy.
Avonne Lee our florist put together beautiful arrangement and bouquets. She delivered them to the reception site and when I got there, they looked great and the tables and head table.
Last but not least Allison Fronk and her team:
Thank you so much for making my wedding day so wonderful. I cant say it enough. You all made it so stress free and run smoothly. For all my events I am going to you. The whole process from start to finish was easy and you did all the work for me. I would recommend you to anyone without a doubt. -

This is a review from someone who checked out the venue but didn't end up booking and having her wedding here.
Clearly, the ceremony venue is gorgeous. I mean, I saw it in photos but nothing beats seeing that view in person. It truly was beautiful and breathtaking. Our main reasoning for not booking with Wedgewood was the reception venue. From the ceremony to reception site was about a mile which I thought was inconvenient for our guests. When we viewed it, it was just so dark, gloomy, and eerie and didn't look very inviting. Granted, there was no event set up but another note is that the dancing, DJ, and bar were held in an outside room.
Allison and Stephanie were extremely nice and responded in a very timely manner. Usually, when we tell a venue or vendor that we didn't go with their services, they give an attitude about it, but these ladies were so nice and understanding. If the ceremony-to-reception drive doesn't bother you, then this is an excellent venue for you to check out.Comment from Bill Z. of Wedgewood Wedding and Banquet Center 7/25/2011

I saw pictures of a friend who got married here. I wanted to get a better look so I set up an appointment to take a look at it.
I'm looking for an outdoor ceremony only that can hold about 200 people, which the place can. When I took a look, it was being set up for a wedding so that was great to see. The cost is great: $2000 ($2650 including tax) and the rental time is from 1PM to 4PM (including set up and clean up time). The rental fee includes the standard white, plastic Samsonite chairs, a white aisle runner and set-up and clean-up.
I really liked the views and the cost, but I wasn't sure that there was enough of a scenery around the place for bride/groom pics as well as wedding party pics. You're not allowed to go anywhere else, but there's nowhere else really, to go...unless you want to get hit with a golf ball by some golfers. They built an outside lavatory for guests to use. There's plenty of gravel parking.
Also, there's no real changing room for the bride or groom. When I asked, I was shown a very basic locker room. My friend who got married here ended up getting ready at a nearby hotel and renting a limo and stayed in there until it was time for her to walk down the aisle.Listed in: Weded Bliss

5 for service. We got married on 6/26/2011. The Wedgewood crew is great. Allison and Christina are fantastic with the service. They helped us throughout the process and our wedding was beautiful. I have no comment on the crew. Great team.
3 stars for the dinner and cocktails. We chose two items chicken masala and filet mignon. The quality wasn't that good. I thought if seating down dinner would make it taste better than buffet. It was ok. My dinner was lukewarm. The 1 hour cocktail I heard from guests feedback is that they weren't enough for everyone.
Overall, if you want a beautiful wedding this place is great. Food I would go to another place.
Our DJ is Sean. He is excellent. He is very helpful and the greatest DJ. He made the night going smoothly and is very easy to work with.
Overall service is excellent. -

My family has lived within minutes of the Crystal Springs Golf Course for many years, and somehow we did not discover it until looking for a wedding venue. Immediately when we saw the ceremony site, we were taken by it. A stone's throw away from civilization, it felt like a magical oasis in the mountains. Initially, we had no intention of making a decision here, as this was only the second place we looked at. We sat down with Lindsay and Allison and they were incredibly nice and patient with us as we asked all of our questions and talked to them about our budget. As much time as we spent with them that afternoon, we felt no pressure to make a decision quickly. They sincerely wanted us to make the right decision for what we wanted, wherever that was. Long story short, we took a week or so to think about it and realized that this was exactly the venue for us!
Allison ended up being our main contact there as well as our wedding day coordinator. We looooved her. We felt like she was a part of our family by the time our wedding came around. She is patient, dilligent, experienced, has a great personality, and did her absolute best to make sure things ran smoothly. She went above and beyond her duties there and we are so grateful for her!
I am always wary of vendors that venues choose, so I was determined to do all of my research elsewhere before considering the ones that they provided. However, we soon realized that they truly do offer the best vendors around and offer extremely reasonable prices for them.
We can't say enough nice things about DJ Shawn Storm! Allison told us he was amazing, and she was absolutely right! My husband and I met with him on the phone for over an hour the week before to go through every detail of the ceremony and reception beforehand. Shawn really takes pride in catering to the design that the couples want. We had a pretty specific song list, and he did a fantastic job of executing what we wanted, filling in the gaps, and making the wedding run smoothly. He was really easy to talk to through the reception itself as well. Basically, if you are having your wedding here DEFINITELY use Shawn. He's familiar with the set up there already, and he will not let you down!
We also can't say enough about API (A Perfect Impression) Photography! They were so great. Aaron was our lead photographer and he was super. His whole team was just fantastic and took beautiful pictures. We met with Aaron beforehand so that he could get a feel for what styles we like. His team gave us an amazing variety of photos- exactly what we wanted and much more! I would highly recommend them!
We sincerely loved having our wedding at the Crystal Springs Golf Course. It was a magical day. All of the staff there were as nice, proffessional and personable as could be. I can't even think of one negative thing to say about it! Plus, they just finished remodeling before our wedding so everything was even better looking than when we originally had signed on! -

The reception for the wedding was here. In reading Matt L.'s review, you will get the idea of what is included on the money side. couple side. My experience was on the guest side, and it was just as good.
-The flowers were lovely and timely
-The room was gorgeous-simple and elegant
-The appetizers were actually really good
-The buffet was delicious (of course some things were better than others, but this is typical
-The cake was beautiful
-The DJ was engaging and played great music
I have been to several weddings over the years and even had a really bunk one of my own in what seems like another lifetime. This wedding was not only fun, it seemed to go off without a hitch. Both the bride and the groom had a great time and even got to eat thanks to the great staff!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Attended a wedding ceremony here on a gorgeous day, and wow.. it was beautiful.. They have a small gazebo overlooking the Lower Crystal Springs Reservoir..
It is right next to the golf course, so expect some golf carts to roll by.. After a stormy Friday, the grass was still wet, so most of the girls dealt with wet toes. Not heel friendly as well. I kept sinking into the grass, and getting stuck.. which was way more funny than annoying.
The groom is a distant relative, but I definitely had to hold back a tear when the bride started her walk down the aisle.. So beautiful.. imagine if i was close friend.. I'd for sure be bawling... The song was a semi-country pop version of "I Do (Cherish You)" by Mark Wills, which is the original version btw.. not 98 degrees.. Too sweet.. http://www.youtube.com...
I can't wait to see the pics.. they must've been amazing since the view was perfect! I'm not sure if the golf course provides caterers, but they had a table setup with hors d'aeuvres after the ceremony.
3.5 stars.. seems like a nice venue :) -

I got married here a couple weeks ago. Our relationship with the banquet center ranged over about one year, 5 meetings, 15 phone calls or emails, and the event itself.
One of the strange things was that we dealt with a bunch of different people - one salesperson showed us the site and ran our first meeting, then she moved to Sacramento. Another salesperson ran the next meeting. Then another salesperson ran the meeting after that because our second salesperson had a flat tire. And our emails were answered by someone completely different. However, everyone was completely on their game: they remembered who we were, when we were getting married, the details of the event, etc. I am guessing they brush up before we show up, but it was still very impressive how on the ball people were.
The ceremony site is gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful. The clubhouse is maybe halfway between a municipal course and a country club in quality, but the reception room is really nice during the event.
The price was also right. My wife and I really liked the Monterey Plaza Hotel. For the same price as a ceremony & reception with a cash bar and the cheapest catering option at the Monterey Plaza, we got the ceremony, reception with hosted premium liquors, wine, carved lamb and prime rib, flowers, the cake, thank you cards, DJ, and a few other things.
Wedgewood does a package deal, which is fantastic when you don't want to pay for a wedding coordinator and you don't want to think of every single detail.
Our package included:
* Gazebo flowers and centerpieces
* Cake
* Hors d' Oeuvres and Buffet
* Hosted bar
* Invitations and thank you notes
* Day of coordinator
* DJ
* Wine
and a few other things. Everything was of great quality too.
So in summary:
The food was tasty.
The liquor flowed generously.
The cake looked nice and showed up on time.
The florist was of good quality and showed up on time.
The fact we didn't have to think of day of details and get as many coordinated was so relieving.
The ceremony site is amazingly beautiful.
The catering staff was attentive but invisible.
The front office staff was always on the ball.
We got many genuine comments from guests that they loved the ceremony site and the reception was a lot of fun. Wedgewood took good care of us, and I'd highly recommend it.
There is a tee near the ceremony site, but if a ball goes flying by you, then someone has turned around 180 degrees and hit it at you intentionally, or someone has overshot something by 80 yards. No ball is going to be hit by a ball at the ceremony site.
If you're a bridezilla, this isn't the venue for you. The packages aren't for people who care about every single detail painfully. It's for people who are easy going and want to relax more than be uptight. -

I was recently married at Crystal Springs Golf Course c/o Wedgewood Banquet Center in Burlingame. As all brides do, I looked at several venues, including a few Bay Area wineries. When I first visited the Wedgewood site, I felt an immediate connection with the staff, and was drawn to the serene and breath-taking views.
One of the primary factors in my decision to book Wedgewood as our venue, was the all-inclusive package, which offered us talented vendors and an excellent value for our money . From day one, Tracey, Robyn and Liesl, the staff at Wedgewood, exceeded my expectations of customer service. They answered all of my questions promptly, and made me feel that they were personal friends who truly cared to make my day a beautiful and memorable experience.
On the day of my wedding, I was late arriving to the site, and was unable to have my girlfriends relax and get ready with me as originally planned. Robyn and Liesl greeted me with Champagne, helped me get ready and and offered encouragement and support to help calm my nerves. That special and personal touch meant so much to me!
All of the vendors were extremely talented and flexible. With the numerous options I was given, they helped me to create a day that was full of our own personal flair and panache. The effort was very minimal on my part. All of the vendors (baker, florist, caterer and DJ) were proactive in their communication with me, and worked together as a well-oiled machine to create a stress free day. It was wonderful to have everything done for me, so I could just focus on enjoying the best day of my life. The beauty and organization of the day truly exceeded my expectations!
DJ Shawn Storm is amazingly talented! He was full of personality and energy, and my guests loved him! He played all the music I requested, and kept the party going until the very end. Everyone had a great time, and I contribute so much of the night's success to him.
To any of my friends who are looking for a stress-free, cost-effective, beautifully organized wedding, I will without hesitation, recommend Wedgewood Banquet Center. -
Review from Teri C.
I discovered Crystal Springs Golf Course's Gazebo in 2001 when my sister got married there. I returned this past weekend for another beautiful wedding at this gorgeous site. It overlooks the water below and provides a stunning backdrop.
When it's foggy and cold in San Francisco, Burlingame provides blue skies. Sometimes there's no wind, and at other times, there can be quite a bit. (Imagine flying cups of punch everywhere.) It gets REALLY hot over at Crystal Springs. Guests, as well as the wedding party, are bound to get sunburn if precaution is not taken! (Knowing this, I had lathered on the sunblock ahead of time.)
Located off the 280, it's an easy location to find and not too far for those in the Bay Area. It's close enough to the freeway, but far enough to not hear the cars. A convenient parking lot nearby makes it a bit easier for all.
Biggest complaint - you might hear the sound of a golf club hitting a golf club right before the wedding couple exchange their vows. This can be a bit distracting as all heads will turn in the direction of the golfer.
Also, there really is no place to 'hide' the bride. The best you can do is have a van pull up close to the runner, and have her hide behind there before she proceeds to walk down the aisle. -

I'll admit that I'm not the best at writing reviews, but I just had to write one for Wedgewood Crystal Springs. My husband and I got married here on May 14, 2011 and from the very beginning, we had the best experience! We had been looking around at different venues for months before we decided to check out Wedgewood. Since we were also trying to buy a house around the same time, cost was a huge factor in our decision. We initially met with Allison Fronk and she completely took care of us! She set us up with an amazing package (their packages are customizable by the way), and was always very friendly and accommodating. She helped us plan our wedding in less than five months and I can honestly admit that it was stress-free. If there ever was an issue, Allison and her team would resolve it right away.
All of their vendors were great and easy to work with. I was clueless about flowers, but Avonne Lee was very patient and helpful - not to mention, she made our reception room look gorgeous! She even personally delivered my hairpieces and bouquets to our hotel room before the wedding. The Cakery made our cake and it was delicious! Shawn Storm, our DJ, was great! He was able to mix country and hip-hop without it being awkward. He had people dancing the entire time and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. Our officiant was Kathy Wilkerson and she was very on top of things. She walked us through every step of the marriage process and made us feel very comfortable!
Paula, the banquet captain, was so sweet! She completely took care of us throughout the entire reception (she even prepared my plate for me!) She would always check in but was never overbearing. The food was AMAZING, and the bar staff was very attentive. When the wedding was over, we didn't have to do a thing. All of our gifts and belongings were packed up for us, and Paula even saved us containers of food and cake.
I can't say enough good things about this place - I have NO complaints! I will definitely recommend Wedgewood to my family and friends. Thank you Wedgewood staff for such an amazing experience! -

We had our wedding here last June and I have to say that I am impressed with Wedgewood. They helped make my wedding an unforgettable experience.
Tracey, Robyn, and Lindsay were all great and attentive to our needs and helped us sort out the details of the day. Also, they were accommodating by being flexible with the menu and also with the many events we wanted incorporated.
They banquet captain was very good and made sure that we ate and saved all the wedding party yummy appetizer plates. The appetizers and the food was amazing and we received so many great compliments about how good it was. The fish was cooked just right, the prime rib was tender, the salads were good, and the presentation was nice.
The presentation of the cake was very pretty and Mary was able to create almost anything that we wanted. The mango and strawberry cake was very good.
DJ Shawn was amazing and really has the talent to get a wedding party going! He is easy to work with, very attentive to the bride and groom, and super energetic. He was just who we wanted to DJ our party! I would not hesitate to use him again for any other party.
I would give 4.5 stars if I could. The only things that I didn't like too much were the 20% per person service charge and I wish we could have had the room just a little bit later.
Overall, the wedding ceremony site is unbelievably beautiful and I would not have chosen any other site. This is the best of all worlds and I wanted a very nature-like wedding and this place captures sky, clouds, trees, grass, hills, and water. In June, it was a little bit windy, but it was not bad. The reception site is somewhat older and not as nice, but with the night-light, candles, and decor, we made it work and it was budget-friendly. -

My wife and I got married here in May 2011. Since then, I have recommended Wedgewood to everyone I know who's in the market for a wedding venue. We were so extremely pleased with everything here.
First off, the value of this place is virtually unbeatable. We shopped around extensively and found that everything that came in the packages that Wedgewood offered were often better AND cheaper than others had to offer. Since most items (ie. food, DJ, wedding invitations, floral centerpieces, wedding cake, etc.) are built into the per person price, they're able to offer lower prices. The other not-so-obvious benefit of this strategy is the vendors are familiar with Wedgewood and their staff and leaves MUCH less coordinating on the part of the bride and groom to worry about. Furthermore, their vendors are excellent and you're not making any sacrifices in quality to get any of this. Our wedding cake (one layer of carrot and two layers of chocolate fudge) was one of the best we've had at any wedding.
Secondly, the staff here are amazing. They're not your typical "salespeople" and they go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. We were never pressured to include anything we didn't want in our wedding package, and were always glad when we took their personal advice. Allison and Elise were there for us from start to finish, and our wedding truly turned out to be better than we could have imagined. The catering team was incredible as well, and did so much as to check in with our guests and get them anything they needed (this isn't usually done at other events). As having worked in the restaurant business in the past, I could tell that they were very detail-oriented and went above and beyond to see to it that everyone was happy. As the bride and groom, we were brought personal plates by the banquet captain to make sure we had time to eat before our guests bombarded us with pictures and what not. I've often seen at other weddings that the bride and groom eat very little if at all - they saw to it that this wouldn't be the case for ours!
And lastly, the location: the fact that the ceremony is on the edge of a golf course is misleading. I was a little hesitant at first, but when you're actually standing in the area of the reception overlooking the Crystal Springs reservoir it's a whole different sight. We received so many compliments about the beauty of the location and how it really didn't need any decorating at all; the clean austerity allowed the focus to be on the wedding itself. -

We just recently had our ceremony and reception here (11/7/10).
It seemed like everytime we came here, called or emailed them, we received a response from a different person; however, everyone got back to us right away and knew what was going on with our wedding.
The prices are what sold us (even though as soon as I saw this place I knew this was the one!). They first asked what our wedding budget was, and even though it wasn't a huge budget, they tried to work around what we had. Yes, we ended up spending way more than expected, but everything was so worth it!
Allison and Elise were AMAZING!!! Super nice girls with so much knowledge and patience.
Our officiant was Anthony Patterson who was super nice, professional but also funny. We met with him and instantly felt so comfortable. Unfortunately he couldn't make it to the rehearsal because of "an emergency" but Elise did a great job anyway!
It did make us a little nervous about the wedding day but Anthony showed up (early) the day of. Aside from him not making it to the rehearsal, we couldn't have asked for anyone better to marry us. He made our guests laugh and we loved the way he spoke...his voice is very deep but clear.
DJ Shawn Storm was incredible, he was able to mix in Latin music and English music very well without making it awkward. When I met him the day of the wedding, he was super nice and basically told me "I will play whatever you want whenever you want. You just let me know!" He definetly got the party started and played good music.
The whole staff the day of our wedding were so great! There was a really sweet woman (forgot her name) who served us drinks, carried our plates to our table and made sure that we were all well taken care of.
Unfortunately it RAINED the day we got married so we weren't able to get married outside by the gazebo and have the amazing view, BUT they did wait until the last minute (it stopped raining) and asked me what I wanted to do, so I gotta give them credit for that!
Allison went as far as driving to the outside ceremony site (20 min before the ceremony) to check it out and let me know if it was possible to have it outside.
We ended up having the ceremony inside (the banquet) which worked out perfectly! It was nice and cozy, the set up was really nice and they refunded us $1,300 because of that! (sweeeet!- Honeymoon money!!)
We are so grateful for everyone at Wedgewood! Our wedding was AMAZING, it was everything I have ever wanted and more! -

Crystal Springs is a very popular wedding site in the bay area. In search of our wedding location, my fiance and I decided to take a look ourselves.
People were friendly and helpful during our visit. The lady in charge of wedding events there was sweet, patient, and incredibly nice. We were very impressed by their breath-taking ceremony site. The river and landscape view was stunning and you have to see it for yourself. It is probably the most beautiful view out of all the wedding sites we've seen in the whole bay area.
They offer great deal packages including everything from flowers, DJ to invitations at very reasonable prices. Some of the packages even include full bar and fancy seat covers. A hotel night in the area for the newly weds is also part of the packages. If you are a bride who wants to take it easy but doesn't want to pay a fortune, this would be the place for you.
As much as we were impressed with the ceremony site, the reception area was depressing. The building is old and the decor is so outdated. The banquet room is like a cheesy, boring and old conference room. The open bar balcony area looked cheap and crappy. Since my guests are going to spend most of their time at the reception area instead of the ceremony site, I don't want them to endure the lousy ambiance and poor surroundings for hours. This banquet area was just unacceptable to me.
We actually gave the place another chance by visiting again since we really liked the ceremony site. There was a wedding going on in the banquet room the second time we visited. Lets just say seeing an actual wedding going on in that crappy room just made me more firm on NOT having my wedding here.
Ceremony site: 5 stars
Reception site: 1 star
Pricing: 4 stars

I recently attended a wedding here. Seeing that I was a bridesmaid I knew what went on behind the scenes. For those of you who are looking for a wedding site - be careful. While Crystal Springs Golf Course is a beautiful site good for picture taking, the staff have not received the proper training to conduct a smooth and organized ceremony. There were problems with the speakers and while guests arrived the speakers shot out obnoxious sounds. The white linen (or some other material) where the groom, bride, and bridal party walk down was still being fixed while guests were arriving. Given that weddings for couples typically occur only once in their lifetime - at least for 50% of the population - this disorganization was unacceptable.
You might be wondering what happened...did the speakers work, did we all walk down the aisle in silence, did they fix the white linen or was it plastic? After deciding to not have music due to faulty speakers - they plugged in a cord somewhere and it miraculously worked. The wedding turned out very nice. They were happily married that day. Crystal Springs Golf Course received a call from our wedding coordinator the next day and CSGC apologized for the mistake and granted a partial refund to the married couple. They promised to train their staff better for the next wedding.
For wedding site seekers, you might not want to take a risk of having this happen to you. But if you are more of an optimists maybe it might not happen. This place has potential to be a great site. In terms of the site itself it was quite windy that day. I now know why bridesmaids and brides wear their hair up!! Most of my pictures had hair in front of my face. =)
1 star for the beautiful location
1 star for its potential -

We had our wedding two days ago, on September 24, 2010 and I would like to thank our wedding coordinator, Allison Fronk. :) She is always extremely professional and always over delivers. Thank you Allison and team for making my wedding reception a huge success. One of the best decisions I made during the wedding planning is going with Wedgewood. I was completely stress free while planning, and it was all because of Wedgewood. The venue has different packages and ours included the DJ, cake, officiant, personalized toasting goblets, personalized napkins, invitations and food. Instead of interviewing each of the different types of DJ or cake vendors, i had one vendor to choose from. All her vendors are amazing! Specifically:
Satura Cakes -Everybody loved the mango mouse and strawberry cream cake.
TB Lighting (for our up lighting and personalized gobo on the dance floor) I credit 2 vendors for making my venue's appearance beautiful. They are Edmond's Florist (my own vendor) for my centerpieces and TB Lighting (Wedgewood's vendor). The pink up lighting added sophistication to the room and everyone loved the personalized gobo ball. TB Lighting transformed the room and took it to whole different level! Thank you.
DJ Shawn Storm - i love him! I knew from all his positive reviews that he would not disappoint.. I was so impressed with him. He was the best MC anybody can ask for. He knew how to keep the entire crowd energized. Without him, my wedding reception could not be as successful.
Officiant Steve Siglin - He's a friendly guy, and I was honored to have him as our officiant. Every one was very touched during the ceremony. Very professional!
Allison is the best wedding coordinator you can ask for! She is always professional and tries her best at accommodating every client's request. She is very easy to work with and always has a positive attitude! She really provides exceptional customer service! I knew I can always count on her. Thank you so much! :)
I am very pleased with choosing Wedgewood. One of the things that impressed us was that towards the end of the evening, they cleaned up and packed everything away for us. All the candles we brought it were put back in the box, etc. I thought my friends and family had to help clean up, but they took care of everything.
I also would like to thank the head server for the night. She made us feel so special. I was not present during the cocktail hour, but she saved us some appetizers for us. Her team was very professional!
Thank you Wedgewood and vendors for making our wedding a dream come true! -

I went to a wedding here recently (it is the time of year for weddings..). The open air gazebo can be arranged with plenty of seating (this wedding had about 150, and there was still plenty of space), plus there was a deer jumping around during the wedding. The background is beautiful, a view of the Crystal Springs Lake and its surroundings.
Down the same road, is the Gold Course headquarters and the banquet hall. The people who work there were very accommodating to us, being that we were there for about 6 hours. After midnight, when they wanted to leave, they turned on all the lights, but they weren't pushy about us leaving right away.
The banquet hall easily fit 150 people, plus a small dance floor, a bar area (don't look directly at the other groomsmen, because they'll see you and yell at you to take another shot... oh my head...) and space for live entertainment.
All in all, the kind of place that when the night is done and over, you can take it for granted. Which is exactly what the bride and groom and their families are going to want to do as they focus on other things.
I found the people that worked there to be very nice, especially the bartenders. -

I agree with Lyn and Julie below. The ceremony site itself is beautiful, but I often wondered if it was worth the money - especially only for 3 hours and no place to change or make an entrance from.
The $2000 rental fee I can live with - but the extra $600 for "service" charge to open/close the gate and set up some chairs that were probably already there from the morning's ceremony? At about $900/hr - well that's just ridiculous.
In the end, our wedding was beautiful (thanks to the weather gods for the cool breeze), but the beautiful backdrop did little to console the frustrations leading up to our special day.
First they messed up our wedding dates and as a consolation, they offered to reduce our bottle water fee from $2/bottle to $1.50/bt. woop-dee-friggin'-doo. 50 cents?! I don't know about you, but paying $400 for 200 bottles of water just wasn't gonna happen - especially when costco was screaming 35 bucks for the equivalent.
Don't tell me that the prices aren't negotiable - During off-peak, one can get the ceremony site for HALF the price.
Then, my dj couldn't even get a consistent answer from them - whether or not they had electricity (no) or the type of generator they had. And when he tried to visit the site on 3 seperate occasions, they couldn't accomodate his request without an appointment. No one was using the site, and what the heck where they doing that they couldn't spare 15 minutes to unlock the gate and let somebody in for a 2 minute peek?? I remember when I was interested in booking the place, they were pretty anxious to show me the place...
Finally, while Lindsay was "nice", her communication skills were lacking. It was frustrating at best. Here is an excerpt from our email exchange regarding rehearsal dinner. I wasn't trying to be difficult, but since I had people flying in, I wanted to make sure to give them plenty of notice and that our rehearsals wouldn't get "bumped":

Hi Lindsay,
I appreciate all this info. It helps alot!
From your email, it sounds like both these days are currently available:
Thursday 8/20 3pm
Friday 8/21 2pm
Can we reserve Friday 8/21 at 3pm? If there is a Friday evening event, will we have to move our rehearsal dinner?
Thanks.

Hi Lindsay,
I'm sorry. I understand that another event takes precedence. My question, If I have rehearsal dinner on Friday at 3pm [not at 2pm like she wrote incorrectly], what are the odds of there being an event that will bump my dinner?
I don't want to take a chance that rehearsal dinner will be cancelled if it's on Friday.
Wouldn't it be better to to schedule it on Thursday then to avoid that risk??
Please let me know.

Good afternoon Milly,
It's a very good chance that we will need to move your rehearsal date if booked on a Friday evening. August and September are two of our most popular wedding months at Crystal Springs. With all of our Saturday evenings already reserved, Friday evenings will be the next request.
If you would like to tentatively schedule your rehearsal for a Friday evening, I'm happy to schedule it as long as you know the circumstances if another event books.
Take care,

I just don't understand why when I'm using specific dates and times, she kept referring to "evening" and "afternoon". Finally, I just asked her if 3pm was considered and she said afternoon. So then if it was "afternoon" and there was still an "evening" event, I didn't have to worry about my 3pm/"afternoon" rehearsals being bumped right? How difficult is that to say?
I'll admit I'm a Type A planner, so details and communication is key, especially after they screwed up my dates I wanted everything in writing. I wasn't a bridezilla if that's what you're thinking - ask anyone who was involved with the planning.
Maybe if I had my reception here as well, you think they would've been more accomodating and flexible? It appears from other yelpers who had the whole shabang here, yup.
But a few cases of bottle water and letting us see the place for a few minutes seem hardly unreasonable requests after they messed up.
If I had to do it all over again, I would've gotten married someplace else because something so simple shouldn't have left me feeling bitter and cheated like some 2nd class bride.
I'd give them ONE star if it wasn't for their gorgeous view, but in hindsight, I could've gotten married anywhere and it would've been beautiful. Brides, save your $ and go glam up some place special for you. -

On April 30, 2011, my husband and I hosted a beautiful and simple wedding at the Crystal Springs Wedgewood Wedding and Banquet Center. We had a lovely wedding, and I would absolutely recommend this venue to prospective bridges and grooms.
The staff at Wedgewood really helped us have a positive experience. Elise and Allison were helpful, responsive, and professional. They gently guided us through the planning process. They helped us think about so many little details, like programs, toasts, and cake-cutting (we were pretty much clueless). I felt like they respected our values and our vision for our wedding, and never forced any decisions on us. Additionally, they were never pushy about sales. Allison was the only person I met with during the process of choosing a venue who didn't seem "grubby" about the sale. When she heard our total budget, she created a plan that was UNDER our budget to give us ample room for error. Best of all, Elise and Allison always seemed genuinely excited about our wedding. Elise braved some torrential rain in February so she could honor her commitment to show my mom around. My mom felt reassured and was impressed by their commitment. Both women made a special effort to drop in our wedding day to give us a hug :) During the wedding day, they helped make sure that things ran smoothly, which helped my husband and I really relax and enjoy ourselves.
I can't quite believe how far our money went at Wedgewood. When we first looked at the venue, we thought that it was out of our price-range. Maybe because we ended up booking the venue only 4 months before the event, or maybe because we were in the "off" season, they were incredibly flexible about putting together a package that worked for us. We had our morning wedding ceremony and lunch reception at Wedgewood. They put together a unique package for us that included: 5.5 hour rental of the ceremony and reception site (including sound system, chairs, linens, flatware, etc.), simple appetizers, a full buffet, table wine, and simple candle centerpieces. We had 85 guests, and our bill came in just under $4000. People raved about the food and the view!
What sold us on this location is the beauty at the ceremony site. Many of our guests complemented us on the beautiful scenery. As I walked down the aisle, I was greeted with the sight of emerald green hills, sparkling water on the lake, and my handsome husband. Incredible!
Here are the only negatives of the venue. Burlingame can be breezy and chilly year-round, and the winds tend to pick up in the afternoon. A morning wedding can be a great way to cut costs and avoid the wind. There is some freeway noise at the ceremony site, but I honestly did not hear it or care about it on our wedding day. Finally, they do insist on having a cash bar during the entire reception. My husband and I did not want our guests to pay for their drinks, but we could NOT afford to cover the cost. We reached a compromise by offering free wine, coffee, tea, and water. We also warned our guests in advance and mentioned what would be free. Since we had a lunch reception, only half a dozen guests ending up buying a drink.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience and I would not change anything about our wedding. If you're looking for a beautiful, affordable, and EASY venue, Wedgewood might be a great fit for you. -

I got married here on 9/13/2008, I could not have been happier with how everything turned out. During the entire wedding planning process, all the staff at Wedgewood have been extremely helpful and patient. They always responded my emails or phone calls within the day.
I was initially a little worried that the reception room looked a little outdated, however on the day of, with the flowers and chair covers and candles, the place looked absolutely gorgeous. DJ Storm was the best DJ I have ever seen at any weddings, a bunch of our guests even asked for his contact info after our wedding. My wedding cake was absolutely beautiful and it was delicious. The florist went out of her way to make sure I was happy with the flowers and that they stayed within my budget. I would recommend anybody to check out this location for their wedding!!! -

My husband and I got married at Crystal Springs last summer, and overall it was a great experience. The DJ Shawn was amazing, Lindsey was on top of everything and kept things moving smoothly, and the bartenders put up with my crazy family demanding martinis throughout the night.
Only thing that was disappointing was as we were taking pictures, the aisle had a huge puddle in it. Very stressful as the bride to see that. I found out later that all of my guests even saw the puddle as it wasn't filled with sand until about 10 minutes before the ceremony. It was difficult to walk on in heels, and didn't express the professionalism that was shown throughout the rest of my experience.
I'd recommend the location in a heart beat. The pictures from the ceremony were breath taking with Crystal Springs in the background, and the reception area fit our group of 130 people perfectly.
Overall, thanks so much for helping with my amazing experience! -

This was an awsome location for our wedding. Everyone at Wedgewood work hard to make this our special day. I had only one complaint that the flower lady was not working well with us so we got our own. The DJ was a major part of having things run smooth. So over all I had A wonderful time and the cake was fantastic.

I already reviewed this place as Crystal Springs golf course. For the golf course I gave three stars as they had no control over the fuck ups Wedgwood caused. In my opinion 2 stars is generous for these people. So here goes round two......
So my baby sister had her wedding here yesterday and overall the experience was not bad at all. The facilities are a bit dated decor wise and it comes across kinda low end caddy shack-Esq. The bar staff was fantastic, no watery drinks, knew how to make just about anything, etc.
The wait staff left a bit to be desired, varied group of really good but don't speak English mixed with college kids who I'm assuming were working to pay for the pot they smoked before coming to work cause they were fucking space cadets. and this head waitress chick who had a major stick in her ass.
The changing areas they provided were the locker rooms which had all the conveniences you'd expect as well as some of the scents, time for new carpet I think.
The actually ceremony site is about 40 yards off the course and I shit you not, a ball missed the best mans head by about an inch when we were lining up for the procession. Not cool. they should definitely look in to one of those net things. They have this quaint little gazebo on a cliff over looking the water which in theory is great but they don't tell you how bad the winds can get, so much for the brides hair that took over an hour to do.
The wedding coordinator that was assigned to my sister was a complete waste of flesh who was rude and had in my opinion no idea how to run a wedding. She was pushy with the flower girls, not the best way to get the under ten set to cooperate. She was rushing the bride the whole time and really unnecessarily stressed her out, her entire purpose is to alleviate the stress not increase it.
The other side of the issue with Wedgwood is that they force your hand in using their vendors who aren't all that great, their DJ messed up 7 of the 11 people in the bridal parties names, including the BRIDE. Their florist was a complete disaster who forgot the tossing bouquet, the flowers were fairly wilted and she also accosted the groom when he arrived over the remaining balance for the flowers, $8.67, which could be understandable if the bride had not already talked to her about it and told her that she would deal with it when she arrived. For Christ sake they paid over $1000 for flowers is it really necessary to be rude to the groom on his wedding day over 8 bucks?
The one major complaint that I have was that when they say you have until midnight they mean it. at 11:45 they swooped out and started breaking down the tables even as people were sitting there, and by 12 they were literally turning off the lights on us and shooing people out. For the amount of money you pay, about $125 a head, you'd think they would treat your guests with a bit more respect.
Over all not that bad but, I think I see allot less wrong than I would have if it was someone else's wedding and I wasn't weeping like a little girl most of the time. Tears make it hard to really pick things apart like I like to.
Will I recommend these people to anyone for an event? No.1 Previous Review: Show all »

In search of a perfect place for our wedding venue, my Fiancee and I came across the Wedgewood of Crystal Springs. We had gone to the other Bay Area Wedgewood locations so we had high hopes for this location as well. Wedgewood in general has great packages which are affordable and pretty easy for a couple who doesn't want to deal with booking every single vendor on their own. They just recently went through some renovations in January so I was really hopeful that the place would hugely improve. None of the outside changed (it's still hideous) but thankfully the inside of the reception area looks much nicer. No more ugly wooden walls, however they could of at least done two tone walls.
Here are some pros and cons of the place. We'll start with the pros:
-The ceremony site itself is pretty. The surround mountains are gorgeous.
-The view in the cocktail room and outdoor patio is gorgeous!! It's breath taking!!
-The cons:
-Although the ceremony site is beautiful, most photographer can't really capture it's beauty because the sparkling water is WAY lower than were you are sitting or standing.
-In addition, the hills to the left of the ceremony site is just UGLY!! It's brown and disgusting!! It looks dead but Lindsey (the wedding coordinator) informed me that it's not dead, it's just the greenery that grows there. And yes, it will be in ALL your photos!! I've seen tons of photos of this place and ALL the photos have that ugly brown dead looking hill in the background.
-The ceremony site is 1 mile from the reception place. When guests come for the ceremony they have to enter this icky old metal fence and drive their nice luxury cars through the dirt and gravel road to park on that as well.
-You have to hid behind a shack before the ceremony or stay in the car/limo.
-Once the guests drive to the reception, you're going to pass the ugly old fence of the entrance of the place. It's all yellow and old looking.
-There's very limited parking. I went there around 2 pm on a weekday and it was BOOKED!! I had to drive in circles 2 times til I found parking.
-The building (and the surrounding buildings) look like a shack. It's really an eye sore.
-To get to the reception you have to pass by the cafe and all the other golfers. It doesn't make you feel luxurious, makes you feel like you're put in the back to be hidden.
-They have these "picture" type things on the wall, but there's no picture on it. It's just blank. They say it's used to absorb the sound. It looks weird there.
With the renovations the inside of the reception room looks a lot better. However the outside is really a turn off. My Fiancee and I agreed that the beautiful view wasn't enough to make up for all the negative things. The views were great, but that's it. (And it's not like the photographers would show much of it.)
In addition I just wanted to add that Lindsey was very friendly, but she has a very unique personality. She is a bit too forward and pushy which can be uncomfortable for many. She is very blunt and at times even made me feel uncomfortable. I knew that my family would have a hard time working with someone like that. I felt very uncomfortable when she asked me directly, "So what is it that you don't like about the place??". Awkward. What was I suppose to say?? I did tell her the truth on how I felt. I loved the ceremony site and the view from inside of the place, but everything else was just not cutting it for me.
Oh and there's a potter potty out on the ceremony location. I guess that's a good thing for people who have to use the bathroom, but to me that's cheap looking.
I'd give the place 1 star for the great view for the ceremony (I really hate that awful brown hill to the left) and also .5 stars for the reception view (only half a star because it's only nice from INSIDE the building or on the deck. The rest of the view from all other angles of the building is not pleasant). Over all 1.5 stars but I'll round up and give them 2 stars. After all, I hate the parking, the building is a shack (my family would give us hell for booking it because it looks dingy and run down), the over all feeling when entering the place is very sketchy and not classy, elegant, or luxurious at all. When discussing this place with my family they all said just because it's got a nice view (that most of the photos won't even show) it doesn't mean it's a good place to get married if everything else sucked. Literally, the view is the only thing this place had that was nice. (Plus, my Fiancee and I were still head over heels in love with the other Wedgewood location in Oakland, which we ended up booking!! YIPPIEEEEE!!) -
Review from Lyn C.
I am SO with Bobby U. on this one. Although it looks like most people had a pleasant experience with this place, I am COMPLETELY BITTER because the staff here was shady and unprofessional!
In search for a place to have our wedding, we found this place and wanted to check it out based on the beautiful outdoor ceremony and great sounding packages.
Outdoor ceremony: it was a little odd that there wasn't anywhere for the bridal party to come out from, but I was going to let that go by bringing a limo out there and having everyone come out of it. The ceremony site is very pretty and would have been great.
Reception: Plus sides- the bar area and the price. Down sides- cheap ikea balls hanging from the ceiling and unattractive walls. The place could hold 250 max (which is what we were going to have), but the main room could only hold 200 so the extra 50 were going to be thrown in an extra room. I didn't feel comfortable having guests separated from the rest of the party, but we would figure something out.
Why I am SO UPSET with the staff: I was in constant communication with them. I spoke with Tracy and Lindsey but I believe they did not communicate with each other! I only wish I remembered who was who when I spoke and met with each lady. First time I called inquiring about my date, I was told there was another person interested in the same date but had not put down any deposit. I called back saying I still wanted to check out the place.
Timeline of events:
SATURDAY (day of our tour): So the day we came in for the tour I double checked with whomever it was (Tracy or Lindsey) to see if there were still any scheduling conflicts with my desired date. The lady said it was open and if there were anyone else interested, they would inform us before a decision was made just to be fair to both parties.
SUNDAY: I received a follow up call and told her that I wanted to book the place. She said a formal contract would be made and we could drop the deposit off as soon as we signed the contract.
MONDAY: I received a call from the other lady who asked me if the original woman I was working with on Saturday and Sunday informed me of the bad news. Someone put a deposit on my date! What happened to "we will be informed of any conflicts to be fair to both parties"? And why were we not informed on Saturday that there was still someone wanting that same date? And why couldn't the lady who lied to us and gave us our tour not be the one to call me and tell me herself!!?! -

I'm currently searching tediously for wedding reception venues (with focus on golf/country clubs) and Crystal Springs Wedgewood was on my list. After reviewing their packages & Yelp reviews, my fiance and I decided to go on a site tour.
I was personally really excited about visiting because it is located on the hills with a spectacular view of the hills and trees. The price was also right. However, I was pretty disappointed when we pulled up. The building itself is visibly dated with little to no curb appeal. It looks like it can use a paint job and then some.
As for the banquet center itself, your guests would have to pass through the cafe (and golfers) before entering the banquet center. It's lacking that private-party feel I wanted. There's also a "red carpet" (basically red hall runner) that leads to an "arch" on the way to the banquet center. I think it was designed to make you feel special, but I thought it was self-defeating since it's right next to the cafe and it's set on worn artificial green turf. The arch itself looks old-schooled (think high-school prom feel).
The banquet space is divided into three rooms. One of them has very nice views of the cliffs and trees. That's where the bar is and you can use this space to serve appetizers, drinks, etc. The second room is where they can put buffet stations (if you went with that option). If not, I don't know what that space is used for. I guess at least the DJ is stationed there. The main room of the banquet center is where you seat your guests. It has a built-in dance floor that is not removable. I didn't like the dance floor looked so that was another minus for me.
Overall, the banquet center is consistent with the building itself. It is dated. I don't know what it is, but it has a nursery home feel -- white walls, green carpet. My colors are pink and chocolate brown and it would be hard to turn it around. It's just not what I was looking for. Kerryn, the consultant we talked to, told me that I can make the space work for my theme by incorporating little things to spoof it up. I guess it could work, but it was too big of a stretch for me.
The reason why I still gave it 3 stars is because I thought that they were very reasonably priced. They do work with you to accomodate your budgets. I liked how they included a lot of things in the packages so you don't have to worry them. You can also take out things you don't like in the packages.
The downside of that is it gives you less flexibility to do what you want. For example, I was going to remove the DJ from the package but Kerryn strongly advised me not to since their DJ is good and bringing in another DJ will make thing more difficult for them and more expensive for me. Things like that. Other than that, Kerryn enforced the fact that "it's my day" and we should be able to do whatever we want and they would work with us.
This place also deserves 3 stars because the views are just amazing. It's too bad that you can't do an outdoor reception and skip the building altogether.
All in all, if you are looking for a well-priced, fully-packaged reception with accomodating consultants, then this may be the place for you. The building and the dated banquet center itself was just too much for me. -

I had my Wedding here in October 08 and choose the Emerald Package which included everything- open bar with top self liquor, invitations, flowers, DJ, officiant, ect....
When I first saw the outdoor ceremony site I knew this was the place I wanted to get married. The girls were nice Lindsey and Tracy and responsive to our request. The wedding cake and the food was delicious and all of my guest loved it.
The down side to this place was that there is an extra 20% service charge on top of the per person price. I wouldn't be so disappointed if the service was great with the rest of the staff. For example, since we choose the most expensive package we expected the top shelf liquor to be displayed/offered yet it was only served if the guest asked. There was only 1 bartender and she was missing for about on and off for about an hour. I wanted a drink (THE BRIDE) and couldn't get one even though I was standing in front of the bar. The bartender was too busy servicing my guest which TIPPED.
The girls did not communicate with the DJ that a slide show will be played nor did the DJ ask.
The officiant was good yet I wish he would of disclosed the full details of what he was going to say in excess (his thoughts on marriage). Sunset weddings are beautiful yet it was windy and sooooo cold. The officiant spoke about his thoughts on marriage for 25 mins (total ceremony time- 40 mins). -

I recently had both my wedding ceremony and reception here. We were looking for a place for a long time and didn't want to spend a rediculous amount of money and also didn't have alot of spare time to pour into the planning of a wedding. The packages that Wedgewood offers include a florist, DJ, food, bar service, coordination, officiant, baker and more. It is helpful to have vendors that are all working with one another and get together and make it happen for you without you having to do all the constant calling and arranging.
What truly sold us was the ceremony site. It overlooks the reservoir and if you happen to get lucky like we did and the sun is out...it's amazing. Our officiant Steve was a light hearted guy that really has fun doing his job which is refreshing.
I had huge reservations about the reception room. It is an old stale golf club banquet hall in need of some serious updating. I hope they get to freshening the place up soon. It really needs it. It looks worse in the day...thankfully at night with lots of candles and lights dimmed it somehow magically turned out to seem a heck of alot nicer. All in the lighting I guess.
As for the folks we worked with...ALL were great and really helped make our wedding day special. They all tried so hard to fulfill all our requests.
Robin&Tracy the coordinators- Very helpful and attentive. Truly tried to make us happy and comfortable. I was a nervous wreck before the ceremony and Robin swooped in day of and followed me around trying to force feed me pretzels and water when she knew I hadn't eaten all day. Very personal service.
Food Service- All of our guests enjoyed the food. Chef met with us prior making sure that we had what we wanted on the menu. Banquet Captain is amazing and has it all together. Bartenders were wonderful.
DJ Shawn Storm- LOVE THIS MAN! He is great and keeps the party moving. Guests are still raving about him.
Florist Avonne- So accessible. Didn't have to worry about what my tables were going to look like.
Cakemaker Mary- tasty and beautiful cake.
