I've taken my cats here for years, and I love it. They have AWESOME hours, and are very friendly and accomodating. It doesn't seem to take forever in the waiting room, and the TV's are helpful to distract from the waiting anyway. It's a very easy process to call in and get an appt, and they were very helpful the one time I had an emergency and had to bring my kitten in a few years ago. (She died, and even though the doctor didn't know why she died without doing an autopsy, they were very friendly and even sent me a condolence card)

I absolutely love their evening hours. SOO helpful.

As for prices, I guess it's normal- I don't really know any different.

I suppose I don't experience the "personelness" feeling where ppl recognize you, but I'm okay with that. I see a different vet every time- but each one is friendly. So that makes it okay for me. I suppose it just matters whether that is important to you.

Every time that I have taken my dog to Webster Groves Animal Hospital the staff is friendly and willing to discuss any questions that I may have had. I feel that the late and very early appointment times make it very easy to get my animal seen without having to miss work. I will say that when my dog was very sick with blood disorder the doctor was somewhat evasive with what testing needing to be done and not done and this upset my husband. This is why I gave 4 stars rather than 5.

I love being able to give extremely positive reviews, but this time I cannot do so.  Webster Groves Animal Hospital is located in Webster Groves on Big Bend and Murdoch right by Highway 44.  It is a massive hospital that takes appointments, does surgeries and takes in emergencies while also including a small store for food and pet needs.  The interior is bright with large signs and a modern feel.  My rescue puppy went in yesterday for neutering.  Now, the surgery went great, I have no issues with their medical care.  Rather, the issue is one of bedside manner.

What must be understood is that this is a very busy place.  They work very hard here.  The ladies working the desk gave me the distinct impression that I was more of a bother to their workload than a guest.  When I asked one of them what I would have to do to help my puppy recover from surgery, she simply walked away and continued with her work without acknowledging me, even though she kept eye contact while I was speaking to her.  It wasn't until one minute and forty three seconds later that she came back to say that the nurse bringing me my puppy would have an info sheet with all the needed information.

When my puppy was brought to me, the nurse handed me the sheet and quickly walked away before I could look the paper over or ask her any questions.  Now, perhaps neutering is so benign of a procedure that there is nothing to worry about, but it would have been nice to have that reassurance.

The upside is that Webster Groves Animal Hospital is open 6 AM to 2 AM Monday through Saturday, and 9 AM to 2 AM on Sundays.  Therefore, no matter what time you need veterinarian help, you're going to be able to get it here.  Also, this place features state of the art equipment that you won't find everywhere.  The downside is the lacking empathy factor.  In my case it did not carry into treatment quality, but it did affect my peace of mind.

I have a miniature schnauzer that I took to Webster Groves Animal Hospital once for her yearly shots and check-up and once to get her teeth cleaned.

First of all, the hours are great. I felt good knowing that I had an animal hospital nearby that I could use in case of an emergency, but also it was easy to get an appointment with my work schedule.

I forgot what doctor I had, but she was very knowledgeable. I was concerned about Annie's (the dog) drinking. She drinks A LOT of water and I was told by my previous vet that she probably had a kidney infection, there would be tests run and drugs involved. The vet at WGAH said she was fine and made a note in Annie's chart to give her extra water after her teeth cleaning. Turns out, there is no kidney infection and I'm glad she saved me the hundreds of dollars of testing and drugs when my dog is just really thirsty.

I took Annie in to a couple different vets to get prices on her teeth cleaning. WGAH was definitely the cheapest AND they didn't have to pull any teeth. Other vets said they would have to pull at least 4 teeth...without even looking in her mouth first.

I live in Chicago now and wish I could come back to WGAH for my dog's check-ups. It's so hard to find a reasonably priced vet that is open outside of the 9-5 hours!

I agree with Jennifer B.'s assessment.  They have a huge facility and can handle pretty much anything.  Their location right off the highway and their hours absolutely can not be beat for convenience.  However they really crank out the patients and the personal touch just isn't there.  My family frequents WGAH as we're heavily involved in dog training and have had as many as 7 dogs at one time - providing ample reason for vet visits.  The staff didn't show any recognition even when we were coming in every week or two.  The folks at the desk are constantly busy - even at 1am - maybe more staff would improve the situation.
As it is, we've resigned ourselves to using WGAH as our back-up vet and for after-hours emergencies.  If you want a top-notch vet and are willing to drive waaaaay out to Union, I can't recommend Dr. Ava Frick at the Animal Fitness Center enough.  She really is a miracle worker.

I have had nothing but good experiences at this vet.  We have been clients of Webster Groves Animal Hospital for the last 10 years.  The staff has always been great and they remember us every time we come in because we are there so often with all of our critteres.  Scott T and Jennifer B I can't say anything about your experiences other than mine have been so very different.  Perhaps you two should try to be a little more personable and maybe you will have better experiences not only there but elsewhere in your life.
Of the many vets we have seen there we want to say a special thank you to Dr. Tate, Dr. Bedow and Dr. Balke who have collectively provided outstanding medical care for the past 10 years.  We also want to say a special thank you to Kim, Kate, Kris Ashley and Tom who have on many occasions been kind to us during difficult times.
Overall, I don't think you can go wrong with this vet.   Their prices and hours are unbeatable and they have someone there with the animals all night.  And unlike some emergency facilities they will actually work with you and your finances to come up with a payment plan if you don't have all the money on you that night.
My family won't go anywhere else and recommend them to all our friends.
