11 reviews for Weber's Drive In
Without a doubt our most favorite place in South Jersey.
When South Jersians weren't picking their noses, scratching habitually, communicating in grunts and fighting over bones, they were managing to do something cool now and again. Somewhere along the line, a genius thought up this car hop type root beer place, complete with old school style burgers and hot dogs.
Our best order was the tuna fish sandwich. A cute young woman would slide over to the window and affix the tray onto the edge like we were on Happy Days. It is a fun and cute and awesome idea and never disappointed.
They even had a restroom. In NYC, there are whole restaurant-y establishments with no johns, but this little place took care of you in your hour of pee'd.
Loved this place. They only open during baseball season so don't go there at the wrong time and get pissed, acting like I didn't warn your monkey ass.
Stopped by the other day for a quick lunch. Within a minute of me pulling into a parking space, a waitress approached my window to take my order. I got a cheeseburger and a chili cheese dog. About 5 minutes later, the food was ready and the waitress came over with the tray and hung it on my window.
It was simple, tasty, and cheap food. The service was friendly and speedy. I'm definitely coming back again...and trying some root beer too!
Perfect root beer floats; hot, crispy fries; an Elvis impersonator; 1950s portions and pricing; and trays that clip to your car for an enhanced vehicular dining experience. You just can't get these things elsewhere.
This was a great place to take our kids. They had never seen a drive-in before. The root beer was great, and the hot dogs were tasty. The french fries were excellent. A waitress comes right out to your car, and if you need additional service, you just flash your headlights. The milkshakes were awesome.
The only time I eat in my car is when I'm at Weber's!
An excellent place to eat after coming from the Jersey Shore.
I suggest a Root Beer and a Cheese Steak, however I always get a Shake and a Grilled Cheese.
I thought drive ins were dead until my boyfriend told me about Webers. He took me there for a birthday root beer float and some fries. Now, I don't want to say I am easily impressed but... I am. When the waitress came over and hooked the tray onto the side of the car well, I was sold. The root beer was awesome! The last time I got that excited over buying root beer was in Lancaster where it was homemade, but unfortunately my excitement was killed because it tasted like dish detergent. Needless to say Webers is nothing like detergent, it's so good! definitely something even God would probably drink. Seriously. Go!
Weber's is a pretty cool place. I usually stop here for a couple of steamed dogs and a hamburger when I'm heading back from Philly to Brooklyn. The menu is limited to hot dogs, hamburgers, roast pork sandwiches, fries and the like. Their two big attractions are the drive-in service (like Arnold's in Happy Days) and the homemade root beer which has some nice spice. Now as a Brooklynite it's my natural duty to say that the dogs don't beat Gray's however for steamed dogs they're pretty good and the chopped raw onion sprinkled with some salt makes a world of difference.
Service is impeccable. Everyone from the waitress to the grill people are polite and go out of their way to make you happy. Just pull in, flash your headlights a few times (if you want car service) and wallah your order is taken and delivered in minutes. My only complaints are that they don't serve onion rings, pickles and diet root beer. Not a deal killer but certainly a setback. You should also be aware that when driving on Route 38 Weber's comes up fast. Try and stay on the right side and go semi-slow.
Weber's is seasonal. I believe they're open from April to October. Having lunch and being able to stretch and inhale the combination of hot dogs/fries, traffic on Rt 38 and the trees is a nice way to kill thirty or so minutes
This place is, no lie, the absolute Tits.
Not that I remember drive-ins, but this one has the vibe captured, according to my reliable elderly sources. You drive on up and park in a numbered space under a shady awning, and are greeted by a sweet young thing in a uniform who takes your order from your car window. Whoo-hoo, no walking!
Same sweet thing returns minutes later with a loaded tray, which she straps to your car window. You eat "en vehicle" so you know who to blame if you don't like the atmosphere.
You must get a root beer float, no matter what. I'm horribly lactose intolerant and I still get one. It is so worth the suffering. Homemade, old fashioned root beer in a frosted mug, doused with creamy vanilla ice cream.
For solid foods, we have hot dogs, hamburgers, and not much else. But who cares! We have ROOT BEER FLOATS!
Field Guide: Weber's is cash only, closed in the winter, and has an Elvis impersonator singing all day long on Sundays in the summer.
Fun for All Ages and dead cheap to boot. Great for nostalgia-mongering, like if you wanted to con your parents into purchasing you something expensive, take them to lunch here first.
A delightful find... I couldn't believe that drive-ins actually still exist! When our food came, our waitress had to tell me to raise my window up a few inches so she could place the tray onto it.
It's certainly the opposite of health-food, but perfect when you just need a hamburg and a root beer.
This place just has to be experienced; it's a time warp from the fifties. When you go, order the root beer for sure; it's made right there and is very fresh. The burger was also very fresh, and I liked the taste of the fries. They were cut slightly thinner than most fries, which makes them just a little bit crisper.
Preventing me from giving it five stars is that you can't get lettuce on the hamburger, and Weber's does not accept credit cards. Other than that, it's perfect.
Ahhh, Weber's! I didn't think these kinds of places existed anymore until my friend's mom brought us here. I have since returned multiple times. You drive up, order while parked and everything is brought ought onto a clip-on tray that probably chips your window up, but who cares! Everything was hot, tasty, and their rootbeer was unique and refreshing. The fries are skinny, as far as I can remember, which isn't something you see in big-fat America. Consistently good and a place in my memory would cateogirze Weber's.
Weber's is awesome. I mean, you don't need a review to tell you that. Now go get your hot dog and root beer on.
