When I was in high school, I always thought Liberty Pizza was the way to go. Now, being (much) older and (a little) wiser, I like Wayland Pizza House. The last time I was visiting Wayland we ordered two large pies (I've been in NYC for over a decade. I say "pies" now.) and they were so good! Well, I say "they," but I only had the peppers and onions one. The other one was some kind of meaty sausage delight, and I don't eat animals anymore. However, it was gone a lot faster than the P&O. Anyway, I'm definitely a thin, skinny, barely there crust kind of person. This is the one time that a slightly thicker crust was okay by me. It wasn't doughy, and it actually tasted good! The sauce was good, too, and I have very high standards for sauce now.
The other thing was the $12 for a large pie! With toppings! What? I guess I'm used to NYC prices now. So cheap!
So anyway, WPH. Yum.
Show me Wayland House over Libertys any day. Try the chicken parm calzone as well.
Still Id make the drive to Bertuccis over both of them. 3 stars for convenience and (slightly) less grease than Libterys.
when i was home visiting the parents, we decided we needed to get away from mom and her 'just a salad for dinner' ways, so we struck out for pizza. i hadn't been here since high school, and man! i'd been missing out. the steak and cheese was flavorful and packed full of delicious noms, the buffalo chicken pizza was-i am not joking-among the best things my fat and meat starved tastebuds have ever tasted. also, we ordered poppers, and when the gentleman behind the counter realized he didn't have enough to fill our order, he gave us a dollar fifty back to make up for the 2 poppers missing. HOW AWESOME CAN YOU GET. p.s. the fries are slammin.
Everyone always thinks liberty's is the best. Honestly that place is horrible. Wayland pizza house is the best pizza in the area. Not only is their pizza good but everything else is is really tasty as well. It's been open for lots of years and is owned by a family who moved to america and started the pizza buisness. It's got history and good food. What more could you ask for?
