What is better than a great restaurant or bar? Or maybe even the Power Exchange? Not much, is what you would say. But there is!

A local chapter of a national organization designed to educate people about Multiple Sclerosis (MS) & raise money for research. With nearly 400,000 people currently living with MS & 200 people diagnosed every week...that equates to one person each hour. Their goal is to find new ways to prevent attacks & eventually eradicate the disease altogether.

Want more information? It's not a life threatening disease, but it's unpredictable & quite scary at times--I've seen people suffer from it first hand. About 50% of people can suffer from some sort of cognitive disfunction, and other side effects may include fatigue, impaired vision, loss of balance & muscle coordination. There is both sides of the spectrum;  male & females (although more prevalent in women) who have insurance and can treat it while others can't afford insurance and the disease continues to get worse.

Here's why the Northern California chapter is so AWESOME...

This group has organized an annual event called "Waves to Wine". It's a 150-mile, fully-supported 2-day bike ride from San Francisco to Lake Sonoma.

Oh....and what else? I am riding to raise $$$ in an old friend's name! NMSS NorCal will have me wearing a red 'Champions Against MS' bandana in honor of her.
