There are 6 rides there, but only 4 were open. The Honolulu Halfpipe was fun. Looks like the ramp that skateboarders go on, so it's like half a melon shaped, and you come down the top side of one and go back and forth till you stop at the bottom. Also, this funnel looking ride was really funny and scary, too. Food there was so-so.
Good idea to have water shoes so you don't have to walk around with your bare feet, and seeing as you can't really ride with flip flops, why bother carry them around.
I guess when you are over 30, anything goes. My friend decided to have her 35th birthday party at the Waterworld. Really? I am not a big water fan, especially when there are 30 other people in the 10'x10' pit of water.
It was a hot day in Concord, so soaking in the cool water sounded fun. Until I arrived at the parking lot and was required to dish out $10. Then I was required to dish out $31.99 for a ticket. Then they took away my sandwich and almost took away my bottle of water at the security check. Then I had to pay $12 for a locker. I thought: 'That's ok, the fun awaits you.' And, actually, it did!
My friends arrived shortly and we found a great spot on the grass under a palm tree near the Tornado funnel. We took the easy ride first - the Big Kahuna, twice. We waited 20 minutes in line for it every time. That was true for all the rides. Lines are too long! Granted, it was a Sunday and the school was out, and all that, but the park was too crowded. If I were a physicist, I would say that the density of particles per 10 cubic feet was 4 people. And that's pretty dense if you ask me...
Rides were ok. Cliffhanger made me scared I would fly out of the open tube onto concrete. So I closed my eyes and trusted my fate: Que Sera Sera! "The longest in Northern California" lazy river was very refreshing and the waterfall pretty real.
Food was very expensive and bland. Except the Funnel Cake! Damn, I could have eaten the whole thing if it weren't someone else's!
The best two rides came unexpectedly at the end when we were ready to leave. The Tornado funnel which had the longest line. And the Honolulu halfpipe, which was the scariest man-made thing I have tried to conquer. I mean, when flying down you call out your Mom for the rescue - it is damn scary!
Pieces of advice:
1. Have your flip-flops with you at all times! Concrete gets scorching hot and you wouldn't want to find yourself in the restroom barefoot.
2. Bring a lot of water. Unlike food, water is allowed.
3. Park in a nearby garage or in the street.
4. Buy your tickets at Costco ($19.99)
5. Wear shorts if you don't want to leave your bikini bottoms in the Hurricane pipe!
That's it. Have fun! Your experience mostly depends on the company you bring with you! If your friends suck - this place will suck too.

Tips for enjoying Waterworld
1. Go with friends and carpool! Some, well most rides require a duo.
2. Arrive when the park opens on a weekday
a. you get a good parking space
b. you get a good spot to sunbathe
WHAT?!?! Everybody loves to lay in the sun! Say somethin'!
3. Hit _EVERY_ slide
a. Some have two options -- open tube and closed tube
If you complied with item 2 you will be able to do both.
I highly suggest this
4. Sunblock/sunglasses (wrap around option or goggles)
a. Flip-i-ty Flops help protect your footsies from sizzling on the
concrete
5. Check online for an internet special or get the tickets from Costco.
Enjoy greatly!
Oooh, wait!!! This is for Yelpers hence food is important!!! Eat prior but get your 'stay cool while it is hot' foods there. I specifically mean get your ice cream and snow cones on site. There are lots of places to eat nearby.
Oh, and Wayne is the coolest lifeguard!

Waterworld sucks. Golfland Sunsplash in Roseville is way better and worth the drive if you don't live close by.
Waterworld is rundown. They close too many slides, the slides aren't that exciting, everything is way over-priced, you can't bring in outside food, all the slides are miles apart, so you'll burn your feet running from one slide to the next, and the life guards are way too uptight.
Lifeguards, learn to use your discretion. I understand being safe, but you don't have to blow your whistle at every other thing you see; it makes it less fun to be there.
Here's a secret on parking. When heading towards the entrance take a right turn and park where all those business offices are then sneak in through a gate that's there. Free parking is awesome.

I came here last Friday, the 17th with 4 other people and it was a very fun time. We got there at about 10:30 am, found good parking which cost 10 dollars, and went directly to the gate with the tickets we printed out online. For the first hour and a half, there was virtually only a ten minute wait for every ride which was awesome because we got to ride all the rides in the park 1-2 times. Then at around 1pm all the rides started forming really long lines and it started to get really hot, and that is about when we decided to call it a day. So advice for those of you who are going? Come earlier in the morning when it is not as hot and the lines are shorter and print your tickets out online so you can go directly to the gate.
Now about the actual park: I was kinda disappointed you had to rent the floating donuts (is that what they are called) which I really wanted so I can float around the lazy pool, however, I didn't see the point on shelling out 8-9 dollars per person just to do that. The funnel cakes are not as good as say, Disneyland or California's Great America and the locker rentals were quite expensive (15 dollars for a jumbo locker). The locker rental requires you to enter a four digit code as your own personal combo which you can use the whole day. Which is kinda weird because while your punching in your code there is like ten people standing behind you in line watching you do it. I think there needs to be a better system or something.
The highlight of my experience there had to have been the cliffhanger water slide which is basically where you lay back and you slide down almost directly downwards, which makes it extremely scary and thrilling at the same time.
Currently they have a promotion if you go onto their website where if you go between monday-friday you get a single day admission for 20 dollars, which is significant that 30 dollars a ticket if you go in a group like us. Plus you get to ride more on weekdays as less people are there.

I just had my birthday here, and all 20 of us had a great time!! If you follow these simple tips, you will too!
1) Buy tickets at costco
2) Pack a cooler and have a tailgate party. There are even picnic benches at the end of the parking lot.
3)Flip flops and towels are a necessity.
4) RIde every ride!

Decent waterpark. Kinda small though. Came here on a weekday with my little nieces and nephews, was great because most of the park was empty so slides took no more than 5 minutes wait! I imagine the experience would've been different had it been on a crowded weekend. Spent most of the day in the kiddie area and they really enjoyed it.
Best ride (that was open that day): the Tornado! It's the big checkered yellow and blue funnel shaped structure. As described on their site:
"This six-story funnel of wet and wild excitement swirls riders 75 feet in the air. It's the only one of it's kind in Northern California!"
Hurricane slides are fast! Pretty fun to race with other friends down the slide. I highly doubt they are of the same distance, but who cares!
The Typhoon series of slides was disappointing. Pretty slow relative to the Tornado and the Hurricane slides. Maybe because it was just me on the double-tube. After skimming some other reviews, looks like speed isn't a problem when there are two people. In fact, it sounds dangerous!
The lazy river is always freezing cold for some reason. Other than that, it's a nice, relaxing float, good to take little kids on a tube.
Treasure Island is cool. It's a water-powered playground where kids can climb, slide, and play with levers to turn various water fountains on and off. And there's a huge bucket that fills up and dumps hundreds of gallons of pool water all at once. The kids get a kick out of it.
The wave pool is fun. Tip: ALL or nothing at all! If you think you want a "medium" amount of excitement and place yourself between the red line and shore, you'll be right at the point where the waves crash, and will take you by surprise! Important to note especially if you take kids out there. If you go deeper into the pool, closer to the red line, you'll experience the waves without the crash and risk of being flipped over.
In conclusion, it's a decent waterpark and kid-friendly. Be sure to try to come on a weekday when it's not crowded. Waiting 45 minutes for a slide as opposed to 5 minutes is no fun! Then again, there aren't too many different slides available because it's a fairly small park. This was my first visit of my season pass, and I plan to come back at least 3 or 4 times this summer to get my money's worth!

Are the water slides fun? Of course. Why only one star?
* Extremely poor operational policies. We arrived as the park opened to get in some runs on key slides before the crowds. Pointless. Park management keeps 1/2 the slides or park attractions closed so that all the people who arrive early are penalized for it. As lines get too long for comfort (we waited 45 minutes starting at 10:45am) to ride the Big Kahuna. Great ride but not worth the wait. The wave pool did not open until almost 2:00pm. Not a good deal for kids under 48 inches who would view that as a main attraction. Interesting that every one of the food stands and souviner shops are fully manned but the key rides are not. A couple of the best looking slides never opened. I talked to some kids that have season passes and they told me the two highest slides had been closed for the last five weeks. I asked them why...they said they thought since the park was just "cheap." That is not the kind of value I am looking for. Our best move was bringing our own food as others have mentioned. I did not eat any of the park food but it looked toxic.
* Filth. Invest in a pressure washer and clean the concrete. Go one step further and clean the ashpalt in the parking lot. It is disgusting. Clean the lounge chairs...the majority of them had food stains, sticky soda spills, and just dirt build up on them.
Too bad the park is run the way it is....could be a much better experience as the rides are fun, just get the rest of it up to par.

went here for the first time ever today. this was the first "real" water park I have been to (vacaville used to have the Blue Lagoon which had 3 small slides back in the day). i must admit i was scared. i'm not a great swimmer and I can't even tread water but my bf assured me I would be ok...
it was HOT. i brought my aqua shoes so I could wear them on all the rides. they make you take off your flip flops so most people would just leave them at the bottom of the ride and pick them up afterwards. I am a germ-a-phobe and walking around barefoot on wet ground where other barefooted people are just does not appeal to me... EWW! buy some aqua socks or sandals that secure to your feet.
my favorite ride was the tornado (the cone shaped one), and the honolulu halfpipe. they weren't kidding tho about the tornado when they say keep you butt up. my butt went to the bottom of the raft and it hurt my right butt bone! after that everytime I had to step with my right leg up the stairs, my poor butt hurt... ha ha... i hope it doesn't bruise.
the lazy river thing is SUPER cold. we just walked thru it twice cuz we didn't want to rent the tubes. the wave pool is nice and warm, like a real so cal beach.
so all in all i had more fun than I was expecting. i am here writing so obviously i didn't drown. the closest i got was on the hurricane cuz there's no floaty deal under you. but you can stand at the end so it was aight...
oh btw, it's $10 for parking, $7 for the smallest electronic locker (you can open and close it throughout the day). There were hella people tailgaiting at their cars - a good way to save money on food. we ate a funnel cake for $6.75 and garlic fries for $4. Neither were good. People be leaving their ish on the dining tables to hold their spot while they stood in line. I just sat at one with someone else's stuff on it until another table freed up. what a ha.
oh and don't ruin other peoples fun by cutting in line. this one loud black fat woman at the Typhoon called up 4 other people to cut in line. HELLA RUDE. they weren't even children either, they were old enough to know better but obviously were too ignorant to realize or care. They cut in front of like 20 people, i being one of them. whatever!
The showers are freezing and in public. you have to hold the button to make it turn on. there was a line at the girls one so i just used the one by the boys bathroom.
there are no changing rooms so i had to use a bathroom stall. keeps your shoes on ladies! it is just wet bathroom floor in there... GROSS. i would cringe whenever i saw a bare foot!

Today was my third time coming here, I think. Came with my mom and sis. I never realized how small this place is.
The first time I came it was sooo hot and crowded. The second time was cold, cloudy and empty. This time, it was just right, but more on the cold windy side. Lines were not long and weather was just ok.
My first 2 times, I had never gone the the tallest single without a tube ride. It looked too scary. I think it's called the cliffhanger. My mom and sis were too chicken to go on it, so I went by myself. I decided to go on the one without the huge drop, the one with the gradual slide? The employee at the top tells you to cross your legs and put your hands behind your head. That is exactly what I did, but with all the force, my legs became uncrossed on my way down. All the other rides were not painful, but this one was. My butt and back hurt afterwards, couldn't sit afterwards.
My fav rides are...the Big Kahuna and the yellow and blue ride. I think it might be called the Tornado. Big Kahuna is the green slide where several people can sit in it. I like how this one is a group slide and your party sits in one tube, and isn't just for 1 or 2 people. These were the only rides we went on twice.
Previous times I've been able to go the kid areas and play, but this time they didn't let us. I guess the other time, they couldn't manage telling everyone that didn't belong to get out.
Overall, we had a good time. Stayed about 5 hours. I think I'd rather go with people that would want to ride the same rides as me, someone that is a little more fearless.
After reading a bunch of these reviews, I was a little apprehensive about taking my family to Water World, however it really was fantastic.
Yes, you will pay more than you would like for parking, food etc., but honestly....what do you expect? Get over it.
The rides were great. The place was very clean. The employees were shockingly polite and helpful. Even the other people at the park were nice. Honestly I really couldn't hope for it to have gone any better than it did. I couldn't wait to get home and post a positive review.
Examples of how cool it was:
1) My son was on the small side for a slide that dumps you into a deep pool that you have to swim out of.... the lifeguards clearly took their job very seriously. The main guard actually walked along side my son the whole way until he got out to make sure he didn't have any trouble.
2) My wife got an old gross hot-dog that was way over-priced. She took it back to the stand and showed it to the employees. They were grossed out too and were more than happy to give her a new better one. Yes.... you could look at it from the negative side that she got a gross over priced hot-dog, but honestly I think the real test was what the staff does when something goes wrong. They handled it great. What I expect when I take it back is for a tired staff person to be annoyed that they are being bothered. That wasn't the attitude of these people.
I look forward to visiting again. If I lived close I would definitely buy season passes for my whole family.

Sunsplash is so much better and worth the drive...their tide pool even has better waves. we spent $100 for a family of three with parking and lunch since they don't let you bring it in. Spent the whole day standing in lines in the scorching hot sun burning our poor feet on the scorching concrete(wear flip flops) I had the best time sitting in the kiddie pool area...went to Sunsplash a few weeks ago, spent $50 for the three of us and had a blast with no complaints.

I tried to figure out which is better: Raging Water in San Jose or Waterworld (since I never been to either one). Finally decided to go to Waterworld because none of my friends are "strong swimmers" and none of us really been to a waterpark before.
After going to Waterworld, I realized it is more for those of us that never been to any waterparks before. The thrill rides are not that thrilling (i'm a major thrill seeker) as claimed by the website. HOWEVER, they have several group rides that made up for it. The funnel looking thing (tornado) and the Big Kahuna was probably my favorite. Especially since our weight makes it go faster and creates more splash for us. I would FORGO the Honolulu Halfpipe next time if I go again. It gave me a terrible whiplash. The only injury I received from this place. The lazy river was pretty fun - especially to get some much needed cool down from the afternoon heat. The rides that require tubes are more fun than the individual rides - at least you can share the fun with friends. Make sure you wait in the right line to get the tubes as people slide down the rides before you head to wait in another line for the actual ride itself....
Try to get there as early as possible - however, when we got there at around 11:00am, some rides were not even open yet. I guess 11:30am might be a better time? Which is kind of lame... defeats the purpose of trying to be at the park with no lines...
Anyways, I tried to save some money by doing this
- went to CONCORD COSTCO (5 min away from waterpark) beforehand and bought the $19.99 waterworld ticket. Also, grab costco food before heading to the park
- we stuffed all our baggage (8 of us worth of items) into one regular size locker (which is the medium size locker for $12)
- we could have tried to park outside of the park but got too lazy - so paid for parking at $10 each car
I am giving this place a three and a half to four star because I actually had fun. I think waterparks and amusement parks are hard to give a rating as it depends on who you are going with and how you make the situation. But outside of fun, the lines are long everywhere - food services and rides.
Next try: Raging Waters and Golfland Sunsplash.

Bad News, its labor day weekend and 1/2 the slides are closed down. Yeah you should have seen the list on the window. We drove all the way up here to do 1/2 the park. This is my first time being here and I heard it was small. Its not really small. The layout just sucks. Lets just scatter a bunch of rides around. Where ever there is a 10ft span of open space, lets just cram some lawn chairs and call it a day.
Theme of the day seemed to be wait wait wait. Long lines for concessions, long lines for rides because 1/2 were closed and no place to go. Also had to wait for and try to snipe a spot on the grass etc. Lots of waiting around doing nothing. But its ok, because there is are no rides to go on anyways. Did I mention that 1/2 the rides were closed down on a busy labor day weekend? Oh not to mention that the wave pool had a deep end that was roped off? I wonder why it was basically cut in half and
it made it look like it was smaller than it really was.
If I ever need to work on my tan again, I'm going back to raging waters.

If anyone else has had this experience, please contact me!!
I had the same exact experience that Jaimie M. did.
I went to Waterworld on Monday September 1, 2008 with my boyfriend and some friends. We went down the Typhoon(?), the enclosed tunnel slide that requires a 2person raft. I read the sign, followed the instructions of the lifeguard up top: the heavier person sat in back(my boyfriend), and the lighter person sat in front(me). We sat in our little raft, and held on to the sides for safety, or so I thought.
As we're going down, we gain a lot of speed. As we start gaining speed, we take a sharp turn and the raft loses control. It flips up to the right side and we both fall out of the raft, and CRASH into the left side of the tunnel slide.
The left side of my head CRASHES into the tunnel wall, my boyfriend crashes into the side as well and into me. We tumble out of the slide disoriented, the raft, me, then my boyfriend in that order.
I had a raging migraine, the left side of my head was pounding, my neck and shoulder were cramped up beyond belief and I was very dizzy and disoriented.
Some EMT or lifeguard girl came up to me to ask if I was okay and followed through a series of questions to ensure that I did not have a concussion. She told me I should go get checked out at the hospital, and that Waterworld would cover any out of pocket expenses. (lies)
I had to go to the ER twice, I got a CAT scan done, and was then referred to an ear specialist. I had the WORST migraine ever, Aching muscle strains from my neck, shoulder, down to my back, and a TERRIBLE EAR INFECTION in my ear canal and my cartilage. (My ear got swolllen, I started losing my hearing, and I had piercing pain).
HOW DIRTY is the water that all this happened?
Parents, PLEASE do not take your children here. PLEASE do not go on this ride. It's hazardous. AND...they don't take responsibility for it after accidents happen. If you look on the internet, there have been many people who have had accidents, on this particular ride...consistently.

Haven't been there this year, but I've had fun on previous visits. The five slides making up the Hurricane complex are probably the best, partly because the lines aren't as long as for most of the slides.
The Tornado (big blue-and-yellow funnel mentioned in other reviews) isn't bad, but the drop into the funnel itself can be terrifying. I can imagine someone getting hurt on that slide (yet I go on it every year...)
I was never brave enough to go on the Honolulu Halfpipe (so exposed...) and I don't like speed or drop slides (actually I don't think I've ever seen Diablo Falls open- I forgot it existed until I looked at the website), so no comment from me on those.
However, it's very crowded and lines tend to be long- the Big Kahuna in particular has an incredibly long wait. There's always a lot of people in the wave pool, but particularly when the waves are going
Everything is expensive, and the food is merely edible.
I never really thought about whether the water was dirty- it makes me nervous for this year's promised trip.
On the bright side, the place is nicely decorated.

Basically just got home a couple hours ago; I had the worst experience of my life on one of the slides. It was on the typhoon (or monsoon) a slide that needs a two person raft to go down. My boyfriend and I were on the raft and we asked the lifeguard at the top who should ride in the front? Heavier person or not? They said I should go in front (i am the lighter person). So we went down the closed tubed slide, first few seconds it was fun THEN the unthinkable.
My boyfriend and I flipped upside down and I slammed my head onto the side of the slide really hard and so did he. My boyfriend got hit on the head with the raft and I got slammed with it on my face. I freaked out because my head hurt and I was turned around. We both ended up sliding down without a raft one after another. I got bruised and my head was pounding like someone hit me with a metal baseball bat. The lifeguard at the bottom seemed concerned but I told her I wasn't dizzy so I can walk. Even though afterwards my head was pounding so hard I could feel it whenever I walked. I basically had to lay down for a few minutes until I felt better.
ALL in all the rides weren't as exciting as they seem and never again am I going on that ride. I really don't like choking on water, flipping over in a slide, getting hit with my raft and smacking my head on the slide. thanks though.

Though I live by this waterpark, I know there is better in Northern California and I would drive the hour to get there. The prices are a bit ridiculous for being in the middle of the city of Concord. There are altogether five actual slide/rides for groups or singles. Yet, $30 a head is just too much to enjoy these rides. Even the vending machines were expensive at $3.00 for bottled water!!
The rides are definitely fun though, no complaint there, just the 45-minute wait to get on a the 1-2 minute ride is not fun. I have to say though that the height requirement was a blessing because my boyfriend and I brought my daughter and her best friend along. It was definitely fun to have the girls with us and both being brave enough to go on most of the rides with us.
Besides the price, I just cannot give anything higher than 3 stars due to the fact that (1) lack of rides/slides and (2) expensive food, drinks, rental, admission, and parking.

My parents and my brother's family live close to Waterworld so I've been here several times and definitely one of my favorite place to go on summer to cool off. They don't let you bring food inside but there are plenty of places to eat just right outside the park - like Sizzler, a Chinese Buffet restaurant, and all those restaurants by the Willow Pass Shopping Center or downtown Concord. You can' t bring your own floation device either but you can borrow a buoy or tube for a refundable $1 rental. I usually find cheap tickets at http://www.Craigslist.com and sometimes they're cheaper if you purchase them online than at the gate. They have a lot of different water rides and slides to try from the easy ones to super adrenaline-rush ones. The giant tall slides are definitely my favorite.

So I'm tethering between 2 and 3 stars and here's why...
The place is dirrrrrty. Maybe it's because so many kids are around. Just went this past weekend and needless to say, I had to call off work today because I'm freakin' stuck in bed SICK.
OK, maybe it's because I'm not used to the family parks but I just felt like I was in water full of sick germs. I think I was right.
The place is small and some of the rides were shut down. I rode all 3 or 4 of the rides and the rides were fun so hence there's the 3 stars. The yellow and blue funnel ride was crazy! I was in front and backwards (2-4 folks on a tube) all the way through the slide so I was basically scared sh*tless!
Long lines though... for all rides. The wave pool was fun but again, the sea of germs.
Hmmm.... OK 2 stars.

I know my WT (white trash for the uninformed). Heck, I have a good percentage of WT blood coursing through my veins. Not ashamed of my ancestry at all. But this place? Yikes! The clientele even scares the bejesus out of me. Unfortunately, my kids think this place is heaven on earth, so we make a couple obligatory visits during the summer. If you are lucky and show up when they have a full offering of rides, then it's a pretty good time for a hot summer day.
CAVEAT: heed your fellow Yelpers and be prepared to bring a butt-load of cash. They charge you for EVERYTHING, and they charge you A LOT.

A great place to check-out tattoo trends, and swimsuit ensembles. A great place to throw down chunks of cash for parking, lockers, food, and water. A great place to pile on the fried food and then zip around on a slide that makes you all nauseous and giddy, and leaves you with that uneasy sense that maybe you just splashed into a sea of pee, since everyone in the 30 minute wait of a line was 10 years and younger. A great place to goose step around on egg frying cement, and a great place to get side swiped in the wave pool by screaming hollering brats on rubber tire rafts.
recommendation, If you go bring a kid. If you go bring an US magazine or People. Hunt for a plastic lounge chair (be mercenary about it), and settle yourself in while you leave your child/children unattended and running amok. Bring at least 50.00 that you can stuff into your cleavage, and a pair of earplugs to tone down the noise to a soft drone, and pretend it is the sound of the ocean.

Decided to treat the children and go last Friday. We got our tickets at Costco for 14.99 each so we saved not having to pay the full adult price.
The park is small and not much to do for adults but if you have kids there's a great kids area. Shallow water and smaller/shorter slides just for children makes it fun.
The wave pool and the lazy river were also a big hit.
Food wasn't bad but took a very long time to get. Standing in line, ordering and returning to our chairs totaled one hour.
The ice cream shack had one lady working. She took the ordered and the scooped the ice cream/made sundae's etc. We waited in line for 1/2 hour and moved up 2 people. They really need more people working the food area.
No outside food or drinks allowed in the park.
If you want a chair/lounge chair you need to get there right when it opens.
Would I return? Yes. ONly if I can get the 14.99 tickets again.
went today with the family the weather was just right . not to hot and not to cold and the best part was the lines to get on the rides (there were none) i dont think it will ever be like it was today... every other time i came here the lines were so long... the only bad part of the day was the hot concrete i think i have 1st degree burns on the bottom of my feet...

I am specifically rating the Gyros 4D Fear Factory experience at Waterworld during the month of October. Well, I really think first of all its overpriced. And like a fool-( that would be me), they make it appear on the website that it is super crowded, and that you should buy your ticket ahead of time, so we bought the VIP tix. Not necessary. There were 2 mazes, 1 area where you could race a 3D car race, and a sitting area to watch a compilation of the films that were shown in the main Gyro maze. OK, so I am spoiled. I have been to Knott's Halloween Haunt-(see my other review), Universal's Haunt and Disneyland Mansion Holiday.
So yes, I realize there is nothing like that up there, but pleeeeeeze!
You guys are almost there, go the extra mile!
The Gyros 4D experience is 60% there.
*********SPOILERS************
The room with the spider girl and the room with the bridge is great! You need more rooms like that. Where the illusion that you are in an environment works with the TV projection, to help hide the projection. Otherwise its like you are at a timeshare sales pitch just going from room to room watching a creepy thing try to sell itself to you with its 3d qualities.
SNORE....
Like the first room with the skull man threatening you to play the life or death game... DECORATE THAT ROOM, its boring and that's the beginning!
The other maze was actually better, because it was a bit more interactive, had more tight rooms with more decor, and the room with the strobes and the chains, that was our favorite!
All the actors inside & outside roaming were great and really into it but too few. You need more webs, more set ups, more actors, and more MAZES!
Where were the fog machines?
We walked by one, it was off!
There were missed opportunities too! Like the room with all the splatter paint, put people in all black outfits with fluorescent splatter paint on them so they move away from the walls and freak you out!
Or look into the technology they have for fluorescent paints that appear to come off the walls with special glasses. The pirate in the bed by the food area is a great idea, but it was not lit very well, so you can't see it, too bad its cool. Again just step it up a tad. The music blaring should have included more Halloween music intermixed. And for god's sakes, wash the 3D glasses please!
GROSS!
Attend at your own risk, probably better for kids, although they recommend no one under 13.

This is not a place for families. The disturbing looking people don't bother me (heck, that's part of the fun) but the rude and outright threatening behavior of many park patrons make this a very uncomfortable place if you have young-uns with you. This is an especially bad place if your kids are in the 9-12 age range. They're big enough for the fun rides but also big enough to pick up on the nasty vibes of the place. I know that they changed owners recently so we may check it out in another few years. But it's definitely on the No-Go list this summer (which is a shame because we're staying at home this summer and I could see us going to a place like this almost weekly if it were nicer.)

So I haven't been to waterworld for awhile, and when I finally decided to go during summer, it was crammed and boring. I enjoy/recommend Great America. Also because some of the water slides were closed down, but if you haven't been there you should still check it out yourself. It's not a bad place, but it can get boring. Plus side is that the Concord mall is only a few blocks away.

I have been to this place 3 times for my company picnics. It is a decent place. There always is adequate parking and sitting areas. The picnic area is absoultely huge. The staff is usually friendly, and very safety oriented. The bathrooms this year seemed in disrepair. There was a mirror missing, several toilets overflowing, and traces of graffiti.
They are not afraid to shut down a slide if something happens to someone (as was the case this year) to investigate. I am not familar with there prices, because everything is paid for when I go, so I cannot review on those.
uGh... haven't been to Waterworld California in about 3 years, until today. I remember always actually liking this place and having fun. However, today was a pretty big dissapointment... Reasons:
a) Parking cost $10.00. Yikes, that is expensive, but I'm also not that surprised at the same time since that seems to be the going rate/trend at theme parks, concert venues, etc.
b) They closed down 4 rides today, which is pretty much half of the rides in the whole park. Also, they would open up only half of the line for each ride, so things moved very slowly today. However, I can't complain much since I'm guessing they're probably short staffed by now since it is the end of summer and employees are probably back to school and what not. But then again, my COMPLAINT is that they shouldn't charge you the full price if you can only go on half of the rides there.
c) Why do they allow people to be fully clothed and go on the rides? It's just very awkward.. They have dress code rules but don't seem to enforce them. I saw a handful of people wearing shorts and t shirts, and even a couple of people wearing (not kidding) long pants and sweatshirts onto the rides... whatt?
d) Lockers are expensive as hell. Please tell me why I am paying $16.00 for a locker?? PLEASE?? on top of my $10.00 parking, I pretty much just spent almost $30 alone on parking and a locker.
Hm...this place also seems ALOT smaller than what I remember.. I guess when I was a kid, the place seemed huge to me. But today, it seemed so small. Almost the same size as the parking lot.
Overall, I had a fun day but I almost feel like Waterworld is going downhill unless they make some improvements.

Not much to do; I agree with everyone else. Only spent 2 hours there and basically finished everything. But at least the water was cleaner than say, Raging Waters..though, Raging Waters is way more fun... hmm, what a trade-off..
What's up with all the bad reviews? This place was fun as hell! A big group of friends and I reserved several cabanas which I highly recommend because you get to lounge and get a personal waiter. Yeahhh. Also, they have booze! Get all liquored up and get your ass in the lazy river! It wasn't too crowed that day which was nice but showers with cold water was no bueno. WTF no warm water? I'm freezing my ass off for God's sake! Minus one for cold showers and broken margarita machines. Watery margaritas are no fun, no fun I say!

Just went to Waterworld recently and had a nice time. The problem is there wasn't many things to do because it is a small place. The food they have is pretty lousy and not worth buying. I had a nice time but was expecting much more than what I saw.
This was my first ever water park, and i went last weekend. There is a reason for that... i can't swim. Not only can i not swim, i hate fally rides. And water slides are definitely fally rides. Full disclosure in that my friend works there, and i went on the special opening day, which barely has any people. The lockers at the back, by the bathrooms, are free, and you get a key. The lockers that are right next to the rides cost money. The snacks and drinks are overpriced, but of course, they always are at these places. My friends who can go on rides had fun on them. I had a good time relaxing on the chairs. The one thing that was annoying, is it's $6 to rent a floaty rafty thing. They have a lazy river that does not provide you with anything to float on. So, you have to pay $6 to properly relax in the river, or you can just wade around the water in circles. how is that lazy? it's not... it's work. Still, if you like water parks, you'll like this one!

As family legend goes, my cousin R got canned from Water World in the 90s because he was sagging his swim trunks too low and when asked by his female boss to pull em up he said "You know you like it...". Yeah, that is pretty much the whole vibe you get when you go to Water World. A somewhat trashy meat market that is filled with ? kids?? There are some redeeming qualities though. Like the Tornado which is basically a big cone with spinning water that you slosh around in as it throws you higher and higher up the sides until you are convinced that you are going to come crashing down. Oh the exhilaration! Or the Cliffhanger slides which turn any bathing suit into a Brazilian one with it's jaw dropping speed. Mostly you will spend your time waiting in line with little kids about to pee their pants and running the other way down the stairs because they *changed their minds*. But, if all you were going to do was sit around all the live long summer day anyway, you might as well do it in line for the Tornado, no?
