One of Watertown Hotel's Favorite Reviews What's This?
A little hesitant to give a 5 star since I was only there one night but they really did everything perfect. Shuttle from downtown, easy check-in with a bump up to a nice corner room. Free wi-fi, friendly staff, let us keep our bags there all day after we'd checked out. All the reviews here about the details are spot on. Had I know how awkward the experience was going to be at Hotel 1000, I'd have just stayed here all weekend.
Amazing hotel!
I travel extensively for work. Usually about 50+ nites a year. Mostly Holiday Inn/Mariott properties.
This is a welcome change! Staff is really courteous and the prices are great! Free wi-fi and breakfast! Forget the chain hotels and stay here!
Very cute little hotel within walking distance of the University (great choice for parents checking in their offspring for school). Comfy beds, free wireless, great service... but no food service after the complimentary breakfast. That was the only part that was a bummer for me since I was sooooo exhausted after spending all day in a technical training class at UW and wished I didn't have to go out to get food. (You can have food delivered, easily, and Wallingford is a short cab ride away and has many great restaurants to choose from.)
Definitely gets my recommendation.

Overall it's a great hotel, with a caveat...
Great because of amenities:
- nice new place
- solid location (especially if you have business near the University of Washington)
- free parking underground
- free breakfast daily (hot and cold stuff, up til 10am)
- free "carts" of stuff that you can have in your room (surf cart if you want a computer, "spa" cart, game cart, movie cart, etc)
- free shuttle to touristy areas
Just make sure you don't get the room next to the ice maker. That is a monstrously loud machine, and the walls ain't that thick. They're aware of the problem, which is why the machine is turned off at night, but that doesn't mean much when you get woken up at 8am to ice making cacophony... !
You don't have to pay for parking. They got warm yummy cookies in the afternoon. The staff is very helpful and nice. I was dumb and left my lights inside the car on and killed my battery...(this was a first ever i think...well maybe when i was like 16 i did that once too). One of the front desk girls helped me out and I believe they did have some cables in the maintenance as well.
The rooms are nice, I loove the big mirror with huge lights on each side next to the bathroom. You do get a robe, although I didn't use it. The breakfast is not bad for a hotel. 7-10 and they never run out of stuff. They even have soy milk if you prefer that.
You get USA Today paper everyday outside your door and there are local papers downstairs..
I got no complaints really, I would def stay here again.

If you're downtown, sure, stay at the W (if you can afford it). Anywhere else North of there, I'd stay at the Watertown. Talk about a hotel that trusts its guests and treats them like normal human beings. Even the regular rooms are about 500 square feet, so you really don't feel cramped.
When I arrived, they let me print a 28-page document on their printer, no problem. Their free wi-fi, while not perfect, is pretty serviceable. That said, if you're doing a conference there, truck in additional bandwith.
They have an "honor bar" in the lobby where guests can grab food (like Lean Cuisines for $3!) and pay for it. How awesome that they've completely dumped the idea of screwing customers for late-night food!
The whole "carts" thing is pretty amazing, They have about 20 different carts for guests who want to do various things (unwind, play poker, color, whatever). It seems that their address is mis-typed in Google Maps, but aside from that glitch, these guys have it going on, and I'll definitely be back.
Even thought I'm dumb and didn't know how to turn the bathroom light on and off, they were nice about it. Great place. I'll be back.

Just went back for a few days and they didn't disappoint. I forgot to mention that they have "carts" for their guests. Forgot your boombox but you brought your CDs? They have a music cart.
Need to complete your NCAA brackets (like I did), get the internet cart. Free of charge and you get to keep them until you check out. Ask for them once you get there.
Also check out their daily continental breakfast.
Unfortunately, my bracket blew up after day 1 of the tournament.
I will not stay anywhere else in Seattle...

We stayed at the Watertown during a recent visit to Seattle for a friend's wedding. The hotel is conveniently located, with walking access to the University of Washington and bus lines running in to Downtown.
There are thoughtful touches in the room (studio): a swivel TV that can be watched from the "bed" side or the "bath" side; fridge, microwave, and coffee maker; Aveda bath products; robes; and filtered water in the sink. The beds are comfy and ours had a choice of pillow options for those who prefer firm or softer comfort.
The desk staff was helpful, and the complementary breakfast was tasty (though I recommend going to the Portage Bay Cafe just a few blocks down Roosevelt for a bite, if you have time). Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will consider the Watertown again when we're next in Seattle.

The Watertown is a must-stay if you are visiting UW's campus or anywhere else nearby University District. Great location in close proximity to University Way and other restaurant/shop-heavy streets. I was a little thrown off entering the place because I felt like I was walking into a dorm or school building. Not sure what exactly tipped it off but it didn't feel like a normal hotel. The rooms were nice though. I was thrown off by the whole cart service thing but after thinking about it, it's a cute idea. I'm not sure why anyone would visit Seattle to hang out in their hotel rooms with arts and crafts though. Who knows, maybe people get seasonal affective disorder within hours of entering rainy city.
By and large, the stay was pleasant. The bathrobe, mini-fridge, and microwave came in handy. Little touches like the TV and light fixtures could use improvement. Complimentary breakfast had a decent spread but my co-worker and I noticed that everything was mini. Mini yogurt, mini glasses, mini trays. I guess that's their ploy to make sure you don't eat too much free food. Smart - Google should have done that.

I stayed here for a business trip in December and WOW! what a great hotel. The rooms are nice and spacious with robes and Aveda toiletries. Each room comes with a cart full of stuff to make your stay a little nicer. The standard cart has a coffee table book about Seattle, and a coffee service set. You can request for a bunch of other carts including movie carts with a DVD player, a spa cart and even a board game cart.
Every afternoon they have warm cookies in the lobby and for hours before and after you can smell them baking. Because we were working, I was never able to take advantage of their happy hour, but they did have a nice continental breakfast and fresh coffee all day.
They also have a free shuttle to all the major attractions in Seattle. So on our last day we were able to take advantage and head down to the Experience Music Project, which was super cool.

My extended family stayed here a couple of weeks ago to celebrate my nieces wedding. This is an amazing hotel. No detail is missed. All the way down to fresh cookies at the front desk when you come in.
Room was excellent. The lobby was welcoming and the staff were incredibly helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel was absurdly great. I would not hesitate to recommmend it to anyone traveling to Seattle. Some thoughtful people designed this place.
We lucked out finding Watertown after spending more for a hotel near the Space Needle in a Quality Inn where we could barely get out of bed without knocking into the walls, in a room with tacky wood paneling and a view of the freeway.
The Watertown hotel was modern, pretty, clean, had a little bit of a view from the University district of the city skyline (see photo), a huge mirror and semi-private dressing area. Nice bath products from Aveda that I actually used, filtered tap water piped through the sink, pretty linens, recyclable trash and free ethernet hookup. Other bonuses are the free underground parking, and a cart of party-starters that is available upon request (i.e. kids stuff, mixers and supplies for cocktails, aromatherapy, etc.) and a binder in your room with staff recommendations for food in the area. The night of our visit there was a free wine tasting. University of Washington is right around the corner, and you can rent a bike from hotel to go check it out! Geez, why would you ever stay somewhere else?

I stayed here for 4 nights while in town for a friend's wedding. What a great place!
First they had freshly baked cookies in the afternoon that were super yummy. If you timed it right you could go to their happy hour and ask for a glass of milk and have it with your warm cookies!
Second, their happy hour was really unmatched -- all for free -- you could choose from beer, wine, soda, milk, juice, mini quiches, crackers and meat and cheese, and more.
I loved that the closet opened from the bedroom side AND the bathroom side!

This is a wonderful hotel near University of Washington. Service was awesome. The staff was also very courteous and will go out of their way to make your stay as nice as possible. Our room was very clean.
The hotel has very nice amenities that larger hotels often don't have. For example, they provide complimentary shuttle service to downtown, complimentary breakfast, loaner bikes with locks and helmets to explore the area, complimentary usage of computer and printer in the lobby, and different "carts" (like spa, movies, poker...etc.) that they can bring into your room for you to enjoy.

My new favorite hotel in Seattle!
We always rent a car, so the location's fabulous for us -- you're so close to I-5 and 45th Street that getting anywhere in town is simple and fast, and free parking in a secure garage can't be beat. If you're doing the usual tourist stuff, they'll drop you off downtown in their shuttle.
The design is modern but not too wild; the beds are comfy, and the views gorgeous. The bathroom layout is great for two people: the toilet and shower are in a private room, and there's a large vanity in the dressing area, separated from the sleeping area by a freestanding closet that opens from both sides.
Free breakfast is so-so, but you get what you pay for.
The people who work here were very helpful and polite; housekeeping stayed out of our hair when we wanted to sleep in, and yet managed to clean the room every day.
We paid $145 a night for a room that would have cost close to twice that amount downtown.

Amenityville, USA. And I love me some amenities. Lots and lots of towels. In-room refrigerator, coffee, tea, popcorn. Fresh chocolate-chip cookies every afternoon. Happy hour wine or beer and snacks every weekday. Free laundry facilities. "A la carte" program--we ordered up the kids' cart, which had games, books, and coloring books. Aveda toiletries. Free breakfast. Free parking. Free shuttle to downtown, Seattle Center, and other locations. Great location in the U. District. Spacious and comfortable. Windows that actually open. Very nice staff. Only a couple of quibbles--the TV rotates into the bathroom, which is cool, but not so that you can see it in the bathtub. Too bad for my daughter, who could not watch Pucca while bathing. Noisy AC unit, whaddya gonna do. We will definitely come back! Beats the heck out of the corporate hotels.

I used to stay here a LOT when I was shuttling back and forth for grad school. At least ten times over a two-year span. A little pricey for a student, but so worth it. Always clean and comfortable, with a modern decor and nice amenities. After a grueling day of class, a group of us would head back to the Watertown for wine tasting and snacks. Great way to relax and rejuvenate. We'd meet for breakfast, too - which was a complementary buffet and not bad at all - then walk to the university. The UW health sciences shuttle stops right across the street, and will drop you at the south end of campus if you don't feel like walking. They also have loaner bikes. And a little gym with Precor ellipticals (love those). Book early, though. I ended up staying at Hotel Deca on this last trip. It was fine, but can't hold a candle to Watertown.
