Dear Washington Mutual,

You have become the worst establishment that I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.  Perhaps instead of plastering the city with your Whoo Hoo signs, you ought to spend some money on properly training your employees to do their jobs.  That way you can actually keep your customers.  I am going to close my accounts with you as soon as I possibly can, and will urge every person that I know (and those that I don't) to do the same.

Yours in complete disgust and frustration,

Diet Coke

Pros:

The employees will go out of their way to help you. (Really, they do).
Cute and friendly female employees.
Comfortable ambience.
Gameboys and children's section with books.
Hardly any lines.
Friendly and sweet security guard.
On Larchmont.
A Sr. Personal Financial Rep who knows what she's doing.

Cons:

No parking lot.
Difficult clientele.

Whether it's to open an account or inquire about a loan, this branch is faster than most other branches because there is hardly ever a wait. All in all, there are more pros than cons. What more can you ask for in a bank?

This location suffers from no parking lot.  After entering the branch, the ATM machines are set in a wall to the left.  On the right are two glass doors--for entering and exiting the area having tellers and investment counselors.  A green light next to the door signals the door is unlocked so one can enter.  Momentarily after the door closes behind her, she is locked between another glass door and the one she just entered.  A green light on this second door signals the door ahead is unlocked.  Tellers work at individual kiosks arranged  like numbers on a clock around a central area.  No security separates the customer and teller.   After being handed a receipt, any money to be withdrawn is obtained from a money dispensing machine located against a wall by entering the code numbers from the receipt.  Exiting the branch one must pass through a set of two locking glass doors.  I feel like I am passing through the panama canal when entering and exiting!  the staff is attractive, very friendly and they seem to be capable of performing their duties.  Washington Mutual is cool in that  a deposited check--let me qualify that-- checks from an account in another institution which the Wamu data system recognizes--are credited to my account without the typical hold period during which funds are not available.
