Great park for dogs!!
My dog loves this park. We have been three times and enjoyed this park every time. There are so many trails and so many things to explore. We will definitely have to visit more. We have hiked the short trails. There are several colored dirt trails. There is also a paved loop that is about 2 miles for muddy days. We will have to tackle the 4 1/2 mile trail when the weather gets warmer.
The staff are so friendly. They even come outside the nature center from time to time to hand out treats to the dogs. If your dog needs more playtime there is an off leash dog park. -

In Nashville there is a gorgeous set of running trails in the Warner Parks. The park is full of jogging and walking trails, some paved, and others are dirt trails. You will see flora, fauna, and runners in short running shorts. The parks are named after Edwin and Percy Warner who used to own the property but then gifted it to the city. The parks are 9 miles from downtown, so it is a little bit of a drive to the Bellevue area, but it's well worth it.
I ran on the yellow trail which takes you up the side of a small mountain. The whole park is really fun run because they have cute wooden bridges that span every tiny creek bed that crosses the trails. Running across the bridges, plus expertly dodging tree branches makes you feel like some svelt wood nymph, and that is always a good thing.
If you want to really bust your butt, run the blue trail which travels up the steep side of a small mountain at the end of the loop, you will, as they say, feel the burn.
The park is dog friendly, so bring your four legged friends. -

The biggest and best parks in Nashville are Percy and Edwin Warner Parks. Not as urban, but within easy reach, you can enjoy a family reunion at one of the many picnic areas, a hike or horseback ride on the trails or a drive through the ethereal canopy of green if pressed for time.
