My husband and I had a massive remodeling mission: to replace every single square inch of flooring in our 60-yr-old house. And I mean EVERY square inch including bathrooms, kitchen, and yes closets too. For the almost two years we had lived in our home, we had put up with the cheap old carpet, the five different types of vinyl, the old patches of hardwood, and oh yes tiles too. In October we had some savings and we said, enough. We wanted bamboo.
We purchased the bamboo from Lumber Liquidators (huge mistake). Lumber Liquidators directed us to Lou at Warehouse Direct (our saint and savior).
The project started on a rough patch because (#1) Lumber Liquidators sent us three different lots of bamboo that looked nothing like each other and (#2) our house turned out to be several inches sloped in many rooms. The mistake by Lumber Liquidators put the project on hold just when the old flooring had been torn apart, resulting in us staying at a hotel longer than initially planned. The sloping in the house made the job extremely challenging - and of course to complicate matters we had a bit of a perfectionist complex and wanted our floor to be the most leveled in the entire San Andreas Fault area.
Lou helped us throughout the project without raising an eyebrow. He was most determined and promised to give us the floor of our dream, and delivered on that promise. He helped us push Lumbers Liquidators to fix the problem they had caused in a timely and efficient fashion. As soon as the right bamboo started coming in, he moved his crew to minimize any delay. He kept us apprised on what was happening and was always within reach of a phone call.
Oh and of course we found out that one of the bathroom had a massive water leak and damage from the previous owner's bad DIY skills, and Lou not only recommended us a top-notch general contractor to re-do the bathroom, but also worked with him to sync jobs so that he could finish the installation in that room as soon as possible. What was a (#3) potential disaster was no problem - and we have a new bathroom that we love 100 times more than the previous one.
Lou's crew was top notch. I felt very confident leaving the home in their care during the entire job. Albert, one of the members of the team, is nothing less than an artist. The entire team was very professional, respectful, and hard-working. I remember every time I came in the house from work or from the hotel, they would quietly turn down the music and greet me in. The little things that matter and made a pleasure working with them. And of course, they did an outstanding job leveling our floor. We love the craftsmanship, the attention to the details (around the corners, under the kitchen's cabinets...). They even made a beautiful bamboo step between the two halves of the house that sit on different levels, and accommodated our request to add a wonderful decorative detail in bamboo around our tub. They went above and beyond to give us back our house transformed into a gorgeous, modern home whose floors, I am sure, will last for a lifetime.
We happily recommend Lou and his team to anyone. -

The total process of meeting with Tim and deciding on my flooring needs was completely painless. I let Tim know on the phone that I needed carpet and flooring options for a condo that I was getting ready to rent. The next day Tim came by with some samples for what most landlords liked and why. Then he showed me some options for the bathrooms. Tim was honest and let me know right away what needed replacing and what just needed a deep cleaning. A few days later, the installers came and replaced the carpet and linoleum in the bathrooms. The entire process was quick, efficient and painless. The only complaint that I have is that the installers forgot to rehang a door that they had removed in one of the bathrooms. Other than that, the job was well done for a fair price. Trust me, I already did the math, go local and forget the big name places.

Tim Donoghue is my only source for flooring these days. He can get anything and his price is always the lowest. WD has good crews and Tim personally coordinates the workers. I use Warehouse Direct for my architectural clients and also for my own businesses.

We wanted to get something to cover our bathroom floor - which gets very cold in the winter. We met with Tim Donoghue and he walked us through the store..... We could not believe the amount of flooring options there - it was amazing.
Tim was very patient and professional as he asked us exactly what end result we were looking for, and then made several suggestions. His knowledge of different types, usage, wear, clean up, was extensive and helped us select the right product.
I am happy to say that our bathroom floor is warmer, looks much better, and when we decide to pull up the carpet and linoleum - to lay hardwood floors, you can be I'll call Tim!! -

I just recently had Warehouse Direct install new carpet into my office space. Let me tell you, they found the job more complicated than originally anticipated, so it took a day longer to install... but, nonetheless, they stayed within the quoted budget! They were awesome!!!

We had a bedroom floor put in by Warehouse Direct after we had purchased the flooring (bamboo) from Lumber Liquidators (LL). LL had directed us to Lou, and he was unbelievably helpful.
He kept in touch with LL to determine when the material would arrive and scheduled his crew to come in and work as soon as it arrived. He was very good at keeping us apprised on what was happening and made sure there were no surprises, which we appreciated. On the appointed day, they came in, took out our worn-out carpet, and discovered that the floor was not the concrete slab I had expected but a regular wood floor.
What was a potential disaster was no problem at all for the Warehouse Direct team - one guy ran off the Home Depot for materials while the other guys kept working. They changed directions on a dime and got the entire floor done the same day.
Lou is competent, trustworthy, and professional, and his crew was smart, respectful, and very hard-working. Furthermore, they were unfailingly cheerful - it's unusual to say that it was a pleasure having a bunch of guys working in your house, but they were really nice guys and we enjoyed having them around.
Most importantly, of course, they did absolutely perfect work: the floor looks gorgeous, all the seams are tight and all the transitions are beautiful. They truly exceeded our expectations and we are delighted with the results. We would happily use them again and recommend them to anyone. -

Lou Iverson and his crew did an outstanding job refinishing our wood floors. They removed the cupping due to moisture, matched the wood and kept me informed the entire time, while I was away.

Tim Donohue at Warehouse Direct was a great resource when we redid the flooring in our home. We have finally completed bedrooms, as well as the kitchen, living room and family room, and the great product selection and reasonable prices, along with Tim's knowledge, made it all go very smoothly. I had no idea what to expect when coming here. I was immediately greeted by Wendi Strong. What a great experience!!! She is exceptional: her service was both authentically friendly and genuinely knowledgeable. I came in with a unique small project. Wendi sat with me and took me around the warehouse and discussed options for at least an hour. She was delightful to talk to. Even though my project was small I felt she gave me superb attention. I'm excited now to have found a business like this because when I (or family or friends) have large jobs to do on houses (or small unique projects) this place (Warehouse Direct Flooring Outlet) will be the first place I'll go. They were just fantastic to work with; remarkable in this day and age. I suggest just going in and checking their business out - it was that good.

This is a recommendation for Lou Versman and Wholesale Direct Interiors, based upon our extremely high satisfaction with the installation of 2100 sq. ft. of engineered Santos Mahogany 9/16" flooring in our 2-story home in June, 2010 by Lou's team of 5 installers. Lou allocated 2 teams of 2, plus one additional man, in order to be able to install on both levels simultaneously and complete the installation in less time.
Lou was extremely helpful in providing samples of flooring to us and ordering and delivering a box of dark oak, which we originally thought we would want, but which turned out to be too dark. The $124 cost of the box was a great investment- we love the Santos mahogany and are glad that we tried out 20 square feet of oak before deciding.
Lou picked up and delivered samples from his showroom and 2 or 3 of his suppliers at least 5 times- and put no pressure on us to purchase the material through him. We ultimately purchased the material from Simple Floors because theirs was the only Santos Mahogany (out of probably 25 samples we saw) with the deep reddish tone we wanted. We visited a home in San Ramon where the homeowner had installed the material- so knew what it looked like when installed. We loved it, and the wood we received was exactly what we hoped for in color.
The job involved demolishing and removing roughly 600 sq. ft. of limestone and marble tile, as well as removal of approx 1500 sq ft. of carpet, installation of hardwood upstairs and down, and removal and replacement of all baseboards (more than 500 feet) with higher 5 " baseboards which Lou's team installed after they painted them (2 coats as requested. We learned in the past that you should ALWAYS insist on 2 coats over the primer coat so your baseboards will look new longer!).
We also had them replace approx 66 linear feet of kick panels under our kitchen counters and bar area with " maple material, which they stained, finished, cut and installed. The total time for the entire job was 7 working days plus 1/2 day for fine-tuning and touch up.
Lou's team was fantastic: hard working, on time, easy to work with, and easy to communicate with.
Lou volunteered to have his men pick up the 102 boxes of hardwood from the supplier's factory, which turned out to be in Oakland- a long drive from their home base in Santa Cruz, from which the team commuted to our Sunnyvale home each day. This saved us a $125 delivery charge. Lou's team did a terrific job of protecting our furniture and walls with sheeting, moving and covering furniture and walls as necessary as they removed and replaced flooring.
Leveling our subfloors meant grinding the concrete pad downstairs, and sanding plywood upstairs where the edges were not level- so we got our share of unavoidable concrete dust and sawdust.
Lou also brought us samples of baseboard material to choose from, saving us a trip to the baseboard supplier. His is a full-service company- we purchased rug underpad from Lou, which was cut to fit, and his team delivered the underpad, moved 2 sofas and installed the underpad for us. Greatly appreciated!
Our job was complex, since we have 3 different curved walls and had a curved section in the upstairs landing of our staircase. Lou's team did a great job of bending and cutting to fit, and the upstairs landing - with its curved mahogany edging- is our favorite part of the installation. We also had existing 14-year old hardwood flooring in a downstairs office, and Lou's team had to remove it, as well as chisel away approx. 5 square feet or very hard marble which was solidly glued to concrete downstairs (our house is on a concrete pad, hence the choice of engineered hardwood).
My wife and I have no hesitation in recommending Wholesale Direct Interiors for any hardwood installation. Our job would have been a handyman's nightmare- and we are very happy to have had such a professional, helpful, friendly, and experienced team to do the installation! -

We HIGHLY recommend Lou and his team at Warehouse Direct Interiors. From the estimate process, to ordering the wood, to having it installed, the entire process was seamless and without any issues. I appreciated the fact that Lou kept us informed as to when our wood arrived, reconfirming our installation appointment and when the job would be completed. I wish all of our remodel projects went as smoothly as this one did. It was nice to do business with someone that appreciates and wants to earn your business. Would definitely us them again!

Great prices and outstanding service! Lou (the owner) was the best of the many contractors we worked with in the construction of our new home. He installed our baseboard, carpet, and hardwood flooring. He spent a lot of time helping us select our materials, sending numerous samples. His scheduling was flexible and when our project was delayed, he stored our ordered materials without complaint. He even helped us move things along more quickly by painting and installing our baseboard when our finish carpenter was not available. He was always reachable by phone and personally came out to the jobsite several times to check on the progress and quality of installation. After completion, he even contacted us a couple times to make sure we were still completely happy with the results!
