This place was amazing! Would love to come back!

Tried this place out during restaurant week and had a very hard time deciding what to get! Their regular menu and specials sounded so awesome too! The place was kinda small and cramped, but cozy. I would definitely recommend this place!

Very poor service, don't even have the basics like oyster crackers even though their number one item they are "known" for is the she-crab soup.  The oysters did not taste "fresh" and the waiter looked at me cross-eyed when I asked for some horseradish...it was painstaking for him to bring some. And when that came it tasted weeks old.

This is the most disappointing of all - my boyfriend had a bowl of the soup and I tasted it - was rich, creamy but no too, and flavorful.  I heard everyone around me at other tables ordering it for an appetizer.  So I ordered a cup of my own.  My she-crab soup literally had been watered down and tasted nothing like the one my boyfriend just had a few minutes ago!  Sounds surreal but I imagine they were afraid they would run out or were being cheap so watered it down.  Too many other restaurants in Old Town to choose from!

We had an enjoyable dinner on a very busy Saturday of Restaurant Week.
We had a reservation and had to wait 10 to 15 minutes at the bar, but the bartender was pleasant and we caught the end of the basketball game. They were packed when we got there, so it was understandable.

We enjoyed the food  - she-crab soup and beignets (sp?) were great.  The surf and turf was perfect and my etouffee was yummy.  The staff was attentive and it was a very pleasant evening out.  Save room for the chocolate dessert  - it was really rich but thoroughly enjoyable.

It felt a little stodgy but that's Old Town at times. Our experience was likely skewed because it was New Year's Eve. The Maitre'D was great but despite reservations we still waited about 20 minutes to be seated. The service was speedy once we were seated; attentive at a distance.

Perhaps on a less busy day we would have received recommendations and the day's catch but the server was still very polite.

Our steaks were medium, not medium well as ordered but the appetizer and main dishes were good. Stale biscuits in the strawberry short cake caused a less-than-tasty finish for me but again, I think that's because it was a holiday weekend. I wouldn't go again but it wasn't horrible... just wasn't for me.

    From last night - 1/20/12.

This dining experience was extremely negative. Based on this 1 experience, I would recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs. A caveat right up front - it was Restaurant Week and this was my 1st time at Warehouse, so it is possible they do a better job when they are less busy. That seems unlikely, however, judging from the other reviews on here.

The problems: we were seated not against a wall, but with our backs 4 inches from a door so that the door knob was constantly hitting my back every time I turned tot he person next to me (clearly, a table did not belong in that spot) the Ribs app was luke warm to cold, the waiter didn't get a single drink order correct, it was nearly 45 minutes before we actually got the 1st order of drinks, it was over 2 hours before our dinner arrived (party of 6, 4 of which ordered off of the Restaurant Week Menu), an appetizer was completely forgotten off of our order, when we asked for warm scallops that mistakenly came out cold and were supposed to be blackened (not even close) what we got back 10 minutes later was the same dish either microwaved or left for ten minutes under the heat lamp (we knew this because the 1 bite we took was still there when we received what we told was a brand new dish), the fish entree was so overdone it was rubber and could barely be bitten in to, 5 out of 6 people left more than 1/2 of their meal on their plate (the 6th said the steak was not the worst nor was it the best he's ever had - for $30+ that's pretty bad), the creme brule desert was ice cold (even the burnt, crisp top) and when we asked to speak to the manager about the unreasonable wait time and the cold apps and entrees (a guy in a black pin-stripe suit) he gave us severe attitude.

The Good: The maitre'd came to our table to take our coats, the flourless chocolate cake was not bad, the cheapest drinks (3 for $5 each) were removed from our bill, and the best thing about the entire experience was the bread and water guy: fantastic. More attentive and better mannered than both our waiter and the manager.

In sum: this was a very, very bad experience. Dinner for 6 people took more than 3 hours and not because we were not ready to order when our waiter eventually got around to attending to us or because we ordered so much food. No one finished their meals and we actually walked down the block to O'Connell's to order off the bar menu at 11 PM because we were so starving after leaving this 3 hour debacle.

    Avoid this restaurant.

Great food, great service, a little pricy, but that is just how it is in this area of town.  The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because the crawfish/crab imperial was a bit heavily spiced with cumin. The she crab soup was superb - worth going just for that!

Consistently excellent.  We have brought guests to the Warehouse from around the globe, and they consistently are impressed.  A local gem for steak, seafood, and other fare.  And excellent service.  However, may not appeal to you if you are on a bland diet.

The Warehouse is a very dependable restaurant as far as getting consistently great food, good service, and a relaxing atmosphere. We are fans of the crawfish etoufee, but everything anyone's ever ordered here they have been happy with. We enjoy going for brunch. One of our favorites is the lobster cobb salad.

    Brunch review

Came in on a Saturday at 11:00am and while we had reservations through opentable, the restaurant had ample seating.

There is standard brunch fair, with both breakfast and lunch options to chose from including crawfish and shrimp etouffee (which I had) as well as standard bacon and egg dishes with New Orleans flare.

In addition to the etoufee, we split the wasabi fried oysters and the alligator chowder. With were good, but very bland and to be honest, I hate bland food. The etouffee however, was very tasty (i.e.not bland)and they did not skip out on the shrimp and crawfish and the rice was cooked correctly. The bloody mary drinks are super spicy so if you like it that way... come here!

    Service good as well.

    A unique option for brunch.

Went here for breakfast this morning with family and was seriously disappointed. While it is in a good location, and the decor is pretty nice, the food was pretty awful and I will definitely never go back.

I ordered the poached eggs with hollandaise over roast beef hash. As soon as the server set it in front of me, I knew I had a major problem. The hash was a grey, watery, gelatinous mass of the blandest beef and mushy potatoes you could imagine. One of my eggs was seriously undercooked, while the other was hard boiled. The hollandaise was a weak, runny dribble across the rest of the culinary wasteland. After a few bites, I pushed it away and focused on my bellinis in a futile effort to forget the worst breakfast I've ever had.

My companions fared a bit better. One ordered the cassoulet, which was nothing like the real deal other than the ingredients, but at least had some flavor. The other two ordered the New Orleans french toast, which they seemed to like alright, but looked like nothing out of the ordinary to me.

I'm really sorry we wasted our brunch in Old Town and feel like we would have done better anywhere else. Next time I'll know to get reservations at Vermillion a week in advance.

    Meh.

The service was really terrible, and while I understand we went on New Years eve, there was really no excuse for the poor service. We waited a good 20 minutes for our table to be ready, then waited about 10 min for our waiter to come and take our orders, in the mean time we just ended  up going to the bar and got our own drinks. Then we waited about 25 minutes for our food to be come out. When the waiter finally brought me my soup, he had brought it on a tray of food and kept it in the corner under lids. When we finished our appetizers he then went back in the corner and brought us our main courses.  Had I known that it was our food I would have just requested it then as opposed to leisurely eating my soup.

    I got:

Alligator soup, it was tasty but slightly heavy on tomato and chilies.

The etoufee  was overpowering with chilies and forgetful. Also it was mostly just shrimp with a few crawfish which was disappointing.  Also because it had been sitting the texture was slightly off.

One friend returned her steak because it was cooked well and she wanted medium rare.

A bite of my friends crab cake was delicious. And she raves about the food she gets here all the time so perhaps it was just a really busy night.

    The decor was nice though.

*This is my first review as a newly-minted "Elite" Yelper.  No pressure.*

My mother and boyfriend's family came to town for our collective birthdays (which are 10 days apart) and we made a Sunday brunch reservation at Warehouse. I'll admit I decided on this particular restaurant because of my fellow Yelpers, and we were very pleased, so thanks to all of you below me! (geographically speaking)

The location is fabulous, in the heart of Old Town and just 2 blocks from the waterfront.  I loved the space, though it felt a tad squished on the bottom floor, and the food was great! I actually instructed someone at my table to order the She Crab Soup because I had seen so many great reviews about it on Yelp.  He ordered it, but we all partook, and it was delicious.  I wish I'd gotten my own bowl - I'm an only child and don't share well.

The rest of us got breakfast (and opted for the Strawberries and Cream, which was soooo fatteningly wonderful).  The cajun flare in the food is nice, and better than I expected it to be.  Several of us had the New Orleans French Toast and loved it, and my fellow diners enjoyed their omelets and lunch meals as well.  The best part, however, was the portion sizes: not too big, not too small.  Like our favorite blonde-fabled friend, it was juuuuuusst right.

Prices here are alright - what you'd expect for a brunch in Old Town.  But if you've got parents or relatives coming to town, it's worth the extra pennies to woo them with beautiful King Street and the waterfront.

The only iffy part of our experience there was the host (not the service, which was also more than satisfactory).  When we walked in, a few minutes early, actually, I said that we had a reservations at 11 AM for 6, and he seated us immediately, which was great.  About 25 minutes into the meal, he came to our table and asked for my name.  When I told him "Hilary," he said "Ohhh! OK, I've been calling your phone and left you a message asking if you were coming." I don't mind the mix-up (though I'm not sure why he didn't check my name when we walked in), but after he told me and I said "No problem," he continues to stand there for another 30 seconds laughing about it and re-explaining it to me, which was semi-awkward.  We were all a little uncomfortable by the end of the exchange.

Kind host man, for future reference, just apologize and walk away.  It's really not a problem.  Just don't insert yourself into our conversation.

A week ago, I had made reservations for what is now last Friday evening (January 20) for 12 people.  I've lived in Alexandria for several years and had never been to the Warehouse, but had heard good things, and their Restaurant Week menu seemed to offer more variety than most other places.  On Friday afternoon, I received a call from the restaurant to confirm my reservation, during which they also asked me to be 10-15 minutes late, as that would be very helpful to them.  That didn't concern me at the time, but should have been a hint that they'd done a very poor job managing their traffic.

Because of weather warnings and some last minute conflicts, my party shrunk to 6, which eased some of my concerns about their ability to accommodate us during a busy time.  I called a half an hour in advance to advise them of the change.  When we arrived, however, it was immediately apparent that they were ill-prepared to accommodate even parties of four, several of which seemed to be seated around tables that should only have had two people at them.  Our table (again, for six) felt like a four-person table, and although I was grateful to be seated outside of a high-traffic area, we were so crowded into a corner that it was fairly claustrophobic.

From that point on, the most positive character in this story was the water/bus boy, who truly was very friendly and attentive.  The waiter took our drink orders shortly after we sat down, and then took 20 minutes to return with the drinks.  It was an hour before we received our appetizers, several of which were the wrong items and/or cold.  When the manager came over to supposedly check on how we were doing and apologize for the wait, he seemed very curt and combative.  When our meals finally did arrive (about 1:45 after we sat down), the general malaise at the table was plain to see.  As for my own dinner, a "bistro" filet and crab cake, it was . . . fine.  A little bit overcooked, and seemingly not very fresh, but had decent flavor to it and was edible, so not worth the hassle of sending back.  The crown jewel of this whole experience, however, goes to the member of our party who ordered the scallops appetizer as her meal.  When ordering, she specifically confirmed with the waiter that they were, in fact, sea scallops, not much smaller bay scallops.  What she received clearly were not sea scallops.  They were small, cold, and when she took a bite out of one, apparently were also not fresh and were a bit rubbery.  So she sent them back, asking for a fresh plate.  When her plate was returned a few minutes later, we first joked about the staff just microwaving it and sending it back . . . until we noticed that the same scallop that she took a bite out of was still on the plate.  Fairly disgusted that they merely warmed the same pre-prepared, old scallops and handed them back to her, she sent it back again, not asking for anything in return.

As for dessert, the chocolate cake was good, though another person of our party was not satisfied with the creme brulee.  When the bill came, it was explained to us that the restaurant had decided to be generous and remove some items from our bill to compensate us for the sub-par experience.  The waiter recited this short list, which included a couple of the cheapest drinks ordered, and . . . the scallops that were sent back uneaten.  This amounted to about $20 off a nearly $400 bill, including the inedible dish.  As a grand finale, when we were finally leaving (more than two and a half hours after sitting down), the waiter stops us, his hand full of receipts, seemingly trying to tell us that he may have left an item off our bill.  A) He hadn't.  B) My words to him: "Really?!?!?!  After this shitshow, you really want to quibble about this?"

In short, I had to apologize to my friends for arranging this dinner.

It's interesting to see the huge variety of reviews ranging from 1* to 5* of this long standing King Street fixture: I, for one, have been visiting it for years, and have yet to encounter either bad food or bad service.

Like many other positive reviewers, I am a huge fan of their She-crab soup, and for main courses their "Surf and Turf" options - either Steak "Pontchartrain" (filet mignon, jumbo lump crab, asparagus) or Cajun Veal Oscar (veal scallopine, crawfish, lump crab, asparagus).

My partner and I wanted to try a new restaurant. We had been a kick for a few months of biking from D.C. to Old Town Alexandria. By the time we arrive it's time for a filling meal for sure. We came across Warehouse and decided to pop in and have lunch. Like many of the reviews, the she crab soup is definitely amazing. No ifs ands or buts about it. It has a bit of spice to it which I love. And it's super creamy which I also love!

Since it was technically brunch (we were there on a Saturday), we had few lunch options. I selected the pulled pork sandwich and my partner ordered a burger. We didn't feel like breakfast items and we didn't want anything too fancy. Both of our entrees were grub though. =) We plan on coming back again, marking it one of our favs so far.

Boyfriend and I went here for his birthday dinner this year.  It was sort of an out of the blue pick, in the sense that we just wandered down King St. until we found something that looked appealing and wasn't too busy and not too expensive (we aren't picky in the slightest...ha).

So to start we had the Wasabi crusted fried oysters for an appetizer.  They were okay.  The oysters had a nice crust on them however, i didn't get the wasabi taste unless I dipped it into the wasabi aioli (?) that came with it.  So slightly disappointing.

I had the Stuffed Flounder "Tchoupitoulas" which was stuffed with crabs and crawfish.  It had a rich sauce on it and it was quite good. It came with a vegetable medley and roast potatoes and those were really yummy.  The fish was cooked very well and it was big too.  I only finished half...maybe it was the cream sauce?

The man had Cajun Veal Oscar.  And it was delicious.  The hollandaise on it was flavorful but not overwhelming and it had a good amount of crab on it.

While my overall impression of the food was only a 3.5 (a little too rich for me!), I bumped it up to 4 stars because our service was impeccable.  Our waiter was nice, funny and paid just enough attention to us.  Overall a great experience!

Went in for Sunday Brunch. Pleasantly surprised. Decent prices, esp for the seafood dishes. Not a place to go if you want tons of options, most of the menu is cajun influenced. We had the Tuna Steak sandwich and the Fried Poached Eggs and Grits with Ham and Shrimp. Both were quite delicious and came with strawberries and tasty whipped cream.

The service was awesome! Would definitely go back.

Bottom line - decent new orleans food in VA?  Sign me up.

Wow.  I still can't believe I actually liked this place.  Getting decent cajun food anywhere outside of Louisiana is pretty much impossible, but this place actually made me a lil less homesick.

While I have enjoyed most of the dishes and soups I have tried here, I generally prefer the crawfish etouffee.

The service can be a bit slow some days, but it has never been so bad that it ruined the experience for me.

I'm going with 3 stars because the prices are a little high for a "casual" bar & grill. The food alone deserves more like 4 stars. There were several very tasty sounding cajun dishes, but most of them were at least $25, and any steak dish was around $30, which was just more than what my casual group was planning to pay for a dinner.

I would certainly recommend Warehouse for a special occasion evening when you're craving cajun!

I'm not gonna lie - when my Mom chose this place for lunch I was totally bitching about it because I thought there was no way that good food could come out of here.  There was not a single person eating in the restaurant and it looked like a damn cartoon museum... and there was some bomb seafood smells coming from across the street at another place.

    But lemme say this...

Their lobster cobb salad special was SPLENDID.  SPLEN-DID.  Big chunks of lobster, bacon pieces, blue cheese, muuuah.  Kiss kiss.  Love you.

I vacationed here for two weeks and this was the most memorable meal of the whole trip!

    Keep walking.

For bunch at least.  My girlfriend, her parents and I were looking for brunch on a Sunday.  We entered at 10:30 and did not have trouble getting a table.  The staff was friendly.

The menu was not descriptive enough or the entrees did not match what we thought we ordered.  My girlfriend ordered the open faced country omelet when it arrived it consisted of eggs and sausage topped with potato chips not sliced red potatoes as the menu suggested.  I ordered the Cajun Fritto Misto consisting of shrimp, craw-fish, calamari  and zucchini. No place did it say all items would be fried.  One member of our party asked for toast and the staff said they do not have toast.  I typically expect toast to be available during brunch.

The dinner entrees do look good but again we had brunch and were not impressed.

Went here on a whim during a last-minute trip to Alexandria.

Pros: Easy rezzies 15 minutes before we wanted to eat. Decent wine selection. Cool, sorta "been here forever, mainstay of the older peeps" feel to it.

No real cons, I just wasn't totally blown away by the place. They were able to make me seafood-free jambalaya, which earns them mad props, but it just wasn't amazing. Dessert was tasty and our waiter was cracking us up.

I was feeling frisky and decided to take a chance at a place I had not even heard of before. In the mood for steak, I thought warehouse was a winner. Wrong.

I went with the 29.99 New York strip. Three asparagus and what tasted like boxed instant mashed potatoes came with the steak. So the sides were less than impressive.

The steak was tough around the edges , which makes me feel as though the steak wasn't thawed before it was cooked.

The sauce the steak came with tasted very familiar , and after letting the others in my party taste it , we came to the conclusion it was A1 sauce mixed with ketchup. Interesting to say the least.

The saving grace was the friendly staff.

Went for dinner with my wife.  We had never eaten down in old town and were looking for a steakhouse.  Turns out this is pretty decent.  You can make reservations through Yelp and when we showed up the system had worked.  I said I had a reservation and they had me in the books.  Steak was good and Guinness even better.  The beer was served in a very small glass though.  The table was small but there really wasn't anyone next to us.  Service was great.  They serve bread with real butter prior to the meal but the bread wasn't heated.  I asked to have it served warm and no issue, came right back with my request.  All in all a positive experience.

We have eaten here a couple dozen times. The hosts and wait staff are generally very friendly. Wait times for a table for two is usually minimal without reservations. Expect to spend some time enjoying a meal when they are busy, because the wait for drinks, and food items can be longer than desired. Of course when it is not as busy, service is more rapid.

The cocktails are average, nothing special.

The soups are amazing, particularly the she-crab soup. However, I do try to pry myself away from it to enjoy the Creole Alligator Stew and Red Seafood Chowder. One appetizer I have also enjoyed is the Baked Oysters "Uggie". While the appetizers tend to be very small portions, this one is flavorful and robust.

I have tried a lot of their menu, so after I while it feels limited. However, they generally have 3 or 4 different daily specials that are usually quite good. Most of the entrees and sides I have experienced have been quite delicious. I think my favorite entrees on the menu are the Trout Orleans and Cajun Veal Oscar which both come topped with plenty of crab and hollandaise. I recently tried their meatloaf (pork, veal, beef) with a dark mushroom sauce, which I will be ordering again.

Like everything on King Street, the menu can be a little pricey. Overall the dining area is relatively clean and unique with a stairwell full of fun caricatures. The bathrooms could certainly use a complete remodel or a cleansing with fire.

Pros (she crab soup, fresh seafood, decor): A nice classy looking joint situated in the heart of old town, Warehouse had that old 70s look and backs up the decor with one of the best she crab soups in town, perfectly flavored with generous lumps of crab meat. The server was friendly and the atmosphere perfect for a chatty brunch.

Cons (speed of food, taste): After about a full 45 minute wait sipping on ice water, the free bread was finally served to our table. The butter and bread were both cold to the touch. Bites into the blackened scallops, tuna sandwich, and shellfish penne salad left us wanting. The ingredients were fresh and good of course, but something was missing. The dishes felt bland and lacked a kick like what a branston pickle could provide for a slice of ordinary wonderbread. Our taste buds let out a collective "ehh..." with each bite, hoping for just a little something more.

    Recommendations: She Crab Soup

I went to this restaurant last night with my husband. We had an appetizer two entree, and a desert, I had a glass of wine and he had two glasses of bear and the bill was $89. Not too bad I guess.

We had pecan crusted crawfish and clam cake for appetizer that was amazing. The sauce was indescribable, must try it.

I ordered crawfish etouffee that was OK. I was expecting a much better taste. My husband ordered trout that was OK too it could use a little more taste (salt and lemon, maybe).

For desert we ordered hazelnut chocolate cream brulee and we liked it. It was tasty but felt like they used Nutella to make that (Nutella  crispy on top).

All together it was a good experience. If I could I would give it 3.5 stars.

Cajun meets Old Town Alexandria in this longtime King Street fixture. 'Warehouse' is a misnomer, as this place is decked out in white with dark wood accents. White table clothes, a large staircase, and an antique mahogany bar add to the elegance. Far from a large and drafty warehouse, the space is intimate and well divided. 'Warehouse' must refer to an almost forgotten bit of this building's history. Despite the table clothes the place doesn't come off as overly formal thanks to a varied menu and a wall of silly portraits of their most distinguished customers. The menu, which ranges from $10 sandwiches to $35 steaks, has strong Cajun influences and plenty of imagination.

The she crab soup deserves every bit of its fame. I was expecting more from the crawfish & shrimp beignets. More accurately they are lightly breaded, deep-fried fritters of shredded crawfish and shrimp, and while you can't go wrong it that, I was thinking Cafe Du Monde. I can also recommend the salads, the pork chop, and the crawfish etouffee. I've been twice, and the service on my second time was a bit underwhelming. And though I understand that we were a group of cost-cutting young people, it's still a little irritating.

I was showing a friend around Old Town and it was getting close to dinner time.  We decided to check out Warehouse as I've heard good things about it and it's local.  Since it was 6:00pm I expected a wait, which means drinks at the bar (they have a nice bar) but we were seated right away.

Don't worry, we still got our drinks.  I had a fantastic glass of wine.  For an appetizer we started with the pecan crusted crab cakes. Amazing! Then for dinner we ordered pecan crusted chicken and seafood baked in parchment.  The service was fantastic, the ambiance is great, and it was the perfect end to a Saturday night of shopping in Old Town.

Yet another stop in the Old Town Sysco restaurant parade.  As general advice to out-of-towners, don't go anywhere in the 100/200 block of King Street.  These are two blocks of mediocre (at best) restaurants all living off location and serving up boring food.

As to the Warehouse, I have eaten here several times over the years and thought I would try it again.  Was anything awful?  No.  Objectionable?  No.  Just a basic meh and the whole presentation and menu rates a giant meh especially for the price.

I had a filet, which comes with some starch and asparagus and is probably the most expensive thing on the menu.  I asked to substitute something for the starch and sugggested either more asparagus or some vegetables.  The waiter acted as if I had asked for a free meal because apparently asparagus cost major money at the Warehouse.  If I wanted more asparagus (other than the alloted portion), it would cost me (so I declined).  Also, I ordered oysters.

Oysters came and they were a bit warm.  It was strange since the shells were cold, so perhaps they had not been on ice long enough.  Other than that, they were fine and no problems the next day.  The steak came and it was fine.  Not great for the price, but nothing bad about it.  Meh.  The best part was that my allotment of asparagus was three.  Yes, three anemic and tiny asparagus with my $30 steak dinner.  They did provide some other vegetables, thanks.

Also, the bar is in the center of the restaurant, so depending on where you sit, you might be facing the television the entire time.  Keep in mind that this is a white tablecloth-type place (with the prices that go with it).

Again, why you would go here is beyond me as life is way too short and Old Town has many great restaurants than for you to waste your cash on a $30 mediocre steak dinner.   Why I even went is beyond me, but sometimes I walk by a place 300 times and figure maybe it has gotten better.  Guess what, it hasn't.

Also, to the reviewer who said that this is a convenient walk from the King Street Metro - are you kidding me?  It is over a mile.

9/2010: Here I go again to another restaurant my daughter thinks is awesome. With trepidation, I enter and the minute I enter..I knew it was a mistake. It was 2 adults and 2 children stuck up in the very little room to move upper level on the first floor. So cramped, I had to put my purse on the floor under my feet, just to make room for my plates, glasses and utensils. Please!! Don't stick families with children in the middle of tables surrounded by couples. Please...don't sit mother's who are breast feeding, and feel quite comfortable talking rather loudly about her son's breast feeding needs, as you did with another table, surrounded by tables with couples and young children with inquisitive minds and curiousity. Ruined my meal with out a doubt. Cultivate some brains here.

She wanted to take me there as she thinks the crab soup is awesome. It's not. It was so over spicy, I had to send it back. The server never even asked me if I wanted to substitute it out for something else. In fact, the server sucked. His lack of interest regarding our dining experience compelled me to wish I was any where but there. The food was abysmal. Hated the filet, hated the crab cake they stuck on top of it and had I had gotten my way on this adventure, we would have been eating on the water front.

Kudos again to the local yelpers.  A great dinner.  I was a little worried as King Street was abandoned as I had never seen it.  It appears all the tourists have gone home to put the kiddos back in school.
I had a great She-Crab soup and Maine Salmon.  Both were excellent.  They also had a Hefewizen on tap that was fantastic.  Our waitress took great care of us.  A definite must try in Alexandria.

A hint of New Orleans on the Potomac waterfront. What a nice concept. Actually, Warehouse has the chic diner routine working well for it. As mentioned by other reviewers, this is a cozy space. It is an Old Town storefront. I can imagine it feels quite cramped at peak dining hours.

Despite this, they have a nice menu and good service. I had the seafood omelet. Tasty and ample. The omelet was perfectly prepared and stuffed with crawfish, lobster, and crab. The mix had been tossed in a light and dirty New Orleans seasoning. Actually, the seafood omelet mix was decent, but it was a little too dry and it could have used some veg mixed with it.  Warehouse serves a wonderful seafood (crab) chowder.

Very pleased with my meal. A nice place to take visitors in Old Town, as long as they're comfortable with cozy.

Randomly chose to eat here on Sunday after a 10 mile bike ride into Old Town from the city. We got the last tabel for 2 outside and the staff was so nice. They kept our water glasses full the whole time (which took some serious work) and genuinely seemed happy to be working there and were just so nice! The bread that came out first was fresh and delicious and my friend and I both got the Grilled Seasame Chicken Salad which was SO GOOD - we both ate the whole thing, but were defintiely full after. The dressing was nice and light, there was plenty of chicken, as well as plenty of veggies. I will definitely be back to check out dinner.

    Reasons I like this place:

--convenient location (well for me anyway). Seriously, you can walk here from the King Metro Station

--creative menu: I've never had a beignet (my boyfriend has) but know that it's unusual to see Crawfish & Shrimp Beignets as a menu item. Geez, it's just unusual to see Crawfish as an option in a menu. I've only seen that option in Louisiana or in New York.

--Food was pretty good. Service was pretty good.  Came here for brunch and we were seated very quickly, but the place was popping with people.

    Definitely will be back.

    Things we tried:
    Crawfish & Shrimp Beignets
    Southern Fried Calamari
    She Crab Soup
    Crawfish & Shrimp Etouffee
    Eggs Benedict

What I wanna try in the future:
    Creole Alligator Stew
    Eggs & Roast Beef Hash
    New Orleans French Toast
    Southern Fried Catfish
