Ah, Walygreens, my humble friend. There have been many a late night when I realized that I needed something that only a pharmacy can provide, and you were there for me in those times of need. Your giant, glowing logo greets me from blocks away, and your reassuring "open until midnight" sign beckons me in. Sure, your layout is awkward inside (you are shaped like a triangle that ate a rectangle, after all) and you don't have the most vast selection of goods...but I like loitering by your magazine section, which is also within arm's reach of the toilet paper and pet food section so I never have to travel far to get what I need. One thing, though, Wally: Why do the cashiers always give me such a giant plastic bag for my 3-4 purchases? Those things are so annoying; they damn near drag on the ground when I carry 'em. Please, stock up on smaller bags. Thanks!

Among the various bodegas and laundromats within a 3-block radius of my apartment -- and trust me, there are too many to count -- stands this glorious drugstore. Half the reason why I love it so much is because I still can't believe it exists in my neighborhood. Walgreens? Just a block and a half down from Street Codes, the urban barber shop? WHA?!
Their pharmacy is top-notch. You can manage your prescriptions online in addition to calling in for your meds. That way, you can swing by and pick up your Rx in a jiff. No fuss, no muss.
This location is also deserving of props because it had the item I needed on sale, bringing it down to $5 less than what it would have cost me at Duane Reade. I also like that they carry those eco-friendly makeup brushes. Who knew?

Let me start by saying I don't shy easily...
But, you know the old "I'm-buying-this-for-my-friend" routine that some people use when purchasing very personal care items? Well, I went to this Walgreens once to pick up a certain something very personal for a very good friend of mine.
I wasn't in a big hurry so I didn't mind that the guy employee ten feet away politely told me he didn't have the key to unlock the case that my purchase was kept in. I pressed the automated "customer service needed" announcement and waited. And waited. I pressed it again and waited. I pressed and waited for another two rounds--and the guy finally threw his hands up and went to get the key.
He was apologetic about the wait and unlocked the case. I had to tell him which product I wanted to purchase so he could pull it off the peg. Then he escorted me and this very personal "lady" product, which he held in his hand, to the front and left the item with the checkout gal.
You'd think that I was trying to purchase the Hope Diamond, instead of a box of...
Anyway, when my turn in the very long line finally came up, I said to the checkout gal, "You've got the item here. The nice fellow walked it up for me."
She looked blankly at me and said, "What is it?"
I replied, "It's here somewhere. He just brought it up here."
"Well, what is it?!" she barked at me.
Impatient people behind me were starting to peer around my shoulder to see what the big hold up was.
She finally found it and held it up for everyone to see and snickered, "Is this it?"
"It's for a friend...," I said weakly.
"Sure, it is, honey..."

These people never have anything i need, but they are always opening boxes. So this leads me to believe that everything i need has arrived.
There is always a line, the people are nice, but they can turn very quickly! I like the magazine rack, they always have that, and food aisle always looks a hot mess. Other thing, the one hour photo takes 2days.
But they are open late, and u can get the basic needs, so i like it.

After just coming back with $50 worth of cleaning products from here, I decided to write a review.
This is my local Walgreens. And there is always a line, as with almost all other Walgreens and it's ugly step sister Duane Reade, etc. This particular location.. well, yes, always a line. And usually they have -all- the registers open .. I'm not sure if it's the rate they work (turtle) or the customers (freaking out about not getting something on sale and having to pay an extra 27 cents, etc.)
They are also out of the most random products, always. And their beverage case looks like someone ransacked it -- every single time I come in. But anyway, the only three stars are for the employees, everyone has always been polite which is really rare at stores like these.
