This review is based on the Wal-Mart Visitor's Center and not on a typical Wal-Mart store.

Several years ago, my buddy and I took a road trip out west and we were passing through Northwest Arkansas. I knew Bentonville was the birthplace of Wal-Mart, one of our favorite places to shop, which offers great variety at everyday low prices. We got off the highway and found Sam Walton's (Wal-Mart founder) first store, Walton's 5-10, which is now the Wal-Mart Visitor's Center in Downtown Bentonville.

The Wal-Mart Visitor's Center is a museum which chronicles Sam Walton's life and the history and evolution of Wal-Mart from a small American family business into a multi billion dollar empire of very profitable discount superstores worldwide. The Wal-Mart Visitor's Center has lots of displays of old photos, the Walton family history, Sam Walton's philosophy & business model, Sam Walton's old office, memorabilia, financial reports, store advertisements, history videos, and large worldwide maps of stores (Wal-Mart Supercenters, Sam's Clubs, Neighborhood Markets).

We spent over an hour here taking in each exhibit including Sam Walton's office and we really learned a lot more about Wal-Mart before we came here. This stop at the Wal-Mart Visitor's Center was so worth it and very educational. We left very impressed knowing that success can happen in Small Town America!

Very interesting place to visit. Would be a 5 star if I wasn't so tired of hearing about diversity (their video at the center).  How about simply hiring the best for the job?!

Bethlehem for business people.  See the beginnings of one of the greatest business successes of all time.  World's largest company started in this tiny five and dime store through sheer determination and imagination.
