I love Waking Life. I just started getting massages here for some chronic back pain & shoulder tension, and I've never felt so good!
Services: I've been getting deep tissue massages from Kreshenda and they are phenomenal. She's such a warm and friendly character and a fantastic masseuse in one! She has a great amount of strength but applies it in a way that makes it still feel gentle (or as gentle as deep tissue goes!)
Pricing: I have everything covered by insurance, but their regular pricing is $60/hr, which is very inexpensive compared to anything in the area for the quality!
Ambiance: The store is full of goodies and lines and lines of oils, there's always water ready, and the massage rooms are amazing. Nice lighting, music, and a subtle calming scent from the massage oils.
Great place! I highly recommend.
I came across this place when I received a prescription for massage therapy and needed a place that bills insurances. I found it by chance and it is AMAZING! I have seen two of the therapists for over two months now. They have improved my pain and range of movement, even my doctor and chiropractor have noticed.
The atmosphere is very comfortable and everyone is friendly and easy to talk to. Parking has always been easy to find. I highly recommend this place!

Waking Life offers consistently great customer service and healthy massage products. They are one of the only places that I can go and know that I am getting good, organic products to use in my practice. My clients also appreciate that I purchase mindful oils, lotions, and creams.
Thank you for your good work and for raising the bar in Massage Therapy Supplies.

i went to jesse ray the acupuncturist last year for leg cramps and sore muscles in my back: i'd never had acupuncture therapy before but she was excellent at making me feel comfortable and much more relaxed (both in terms of her demeanor and the services she did on me: acupuncture and cupping). the people here that perform the services and ring them up are great and i've never had a bad experience with them. best of all: this place takes insurance!
-1 because i didn't feel as magically renewed as i thought i might after acupuncture therapy but it still helped. i'm not sure if this was just a difference in how my body responded or just that the techniques weren't ideal for my body.
My shoulders haven't felt this good in ages! This brand new therapy center has got themselves some very good therapists with some very good training. The fees are reasonable and even though its located in the U. District, they have parking nearby that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
I've been pointing my friends in the direction of relaxation and healing at Waking Life. Ask for Kari (the owner) or Alexis (my therapist). And if you're a massage therapist looking for supplies, you now have another choice besides Zenith.
