I haven't been to this place in a while, but decided to tag along and go today.
I'm quite happy with what I got...2 cardigans, both from Guess. One was $28 and the other was $18. But I like the fact that the Guess store had a kids section because I'm so petite. :)
Waikele Premium Outlets is a smaller to mid-sized outlet mall (for those who have been to other outlet malls across the mainland). It's okay and for Hawaii, it's pretty good. The places the girlfriend enjoys are Le Sportsac and Coach. The main bonus for the mall is that it sits right next to a larger strip mall that has plenty other regular retail establishments in it.
It's easy to find, right off of H1 and parking isn't too bad. We usually park in back off to the left or right.
Beware of taking the 5 dollar shuttle from Waikiki! It runs once an hour and ONLY SEATS 25 PEOPLE! with gaggles of Japanese tourists you easily can take the 11 am shuttle and only have the 5 pm shuttle as an option to take you back. They also say that it takes 2-3 hours on city bus but it kind of does with this method also.
Aloha Ohanas and Mainlanders, this is the place to shop this is a good size Outlet and great brand names and awesome prices come and check it out! This is the only outlet in Oahu island!
Mahalo~~
It's not a very large outlet area like Gilroy but worth the walkaround. But if you live in San Francisco, then an added bonus is the fact that Hawaii sales tax is only 4.7%.
Today, I scored big at Carter's and Gymboree! I got tons of really adorable presents for my friend's baby, and it was for a really great price!!!
I also picked up Converse hi-tops for my little feets, so stokage for that! ^_^
A lot of outlets here for higher-end and designer stuff. I actually don't know what that really means except they have outlets for Saks, Coach, A|X and BCBG to name a few. Nothing to write home about though since it doesn't seem like you save much (well I guess you do when you see a markdown for Jimmy Choo shoes from $900 to $300, but still! They were ugly and overpriced!).
Not much of a selection here! I guess by the time the merchandise goes through the other Chelsea Premium Outlets in the continental U.S. (like Gilroy in CA & Woodbury in NY), all you have left in stock are the ones that no one else wants to buy. And why do you still have to cross the street in order to get to the eating establishments?! Don't waste your time and just stick to shopping at the Ala Moana Center.
Waikele baby!
I wish I didn't get sunburnt the day before or I would've tried on more clothes there. :( But I still had a fun time shopping that day! My favorite stores there were LeSport Sac, Off Saks Fifth Ave, Coach, and Charlotte Russe! Great customer service and good discounted prices overall!
I miss this outdoor outlet!! :'(
The outlet is just 5 minutes from my house and I shop here more than anywhere else on the island. My favorite stores are BCBG, Off 5th, Barney's and Nine West.
I would rate it 5 stars if it were not for the fake Prada bags that they sell at Off 5th. My old co-worker bought a Prada bag from Off 5th and took it to Prada Waikiki to have the zipper repaired. Prada sent the bag to test its authenticity and the results showed that it was a fake. My friend is a manager at Prada (and regurlarly shops at Off 5th) and she figured that my co-worker lied about purchasing it at Off 5th. Well, my friend decided to check out the Prada bags at Off 5th and she agreed that they are in fact, FAKE! According to my friend, they are not even authorized to sell Prada. Go see the bags for yourself and tell me that they are real. They look pretty horrible.
It is sad because I really do enjoy shopping at Off 5th. I'm just wary of purchasing anything over $100 there. Should I call the Better Business Bureau??
If your looking for great deals for name brand items this is the place.... Coach, Bebe, Guess, Charlotte Russe, Carter's.... see more stores at http://www.premiumoutl...
Across the street there is a Border's, Starbuck's, Walmart, McDonald's, Lowe's...! Lot's of parking...
Not sure if "premium" really applies anymore. This is a great destination to do some gift shopping if you're from out of town or just plain shop for yourself. Don't get me wrong, there are some upscale places like Ralph Lauren, Guess, Godiva, Saks Fifth, Tumi, Armani Exchange, etc., but it's downright depressing to see vacant spaces and empty food vendor stalls. I guess it's a sign of the times. My two must-visit stores are Crazy Shirt (more selection than the Ward one - for gifts) and Guess (hard to find a pair of jeans in my size). The outlet shows some wear as not much remodel has happened in the last fifteen years. I recommend coming on weekdays or early mornings to avoid crowds (beat the tour buses). I went on Saturday morning and had no problem finding a parking space.
While staying in Ko'Olina Sis and I ventured off to Waikele Premium Outlet. This was my second time visiting this place and I have to say that I've experienced better outlets than this one. There's not much parking and the amount of stores showcased here is small and mediocre.
Notable outlets include Banana Republic, Coach, Barney's, Saks, and LeSportsac. This is the same stuff I see in mainland but more so picked over. One nice thing is probably the winter or fall wear. You can probably find really good deals knowing no one in Hawaii would ever wear such heavy clothing.
I think my Sis and I finished checking out the entire place in 1hr.
Why am I here?? Oh, for the heck of "BLACK FRIDAY"!!
Didn't want to spend too much time on shopping at HI nor wish to add my luggage weight as well. Therefore, we set our time for one hour here and took a glance of the whole place. However, I still got one dress and three pairs of shoes for total of $58. Good deal huh?!??!
Told you!!!!! I am not going anywhere near by shopping malls; otherwise, I will BUY, especially with tax only 4% here!!!!!!!!
If I live here, i definitely will come often for sure~ A nice mall with some nice brand stores all together to shop or to just walk around and enjoy the day.
Here's a tip for all the mainlanders that come here to get their shop on. This is a great place to stock up on winter clothes like coats, jackets, sweaters and anything made out of wool. Lord knows no one in Hawaii is going to wear this shit, so there's bargains to be had at Banana Republic, Barney's New York, et. al.
So if you're in Hawaii and you end up at Waikele, you might also need to stop by the Aloha Swap Meet to get some ugly plumeria luggage so you can haul all the new clothes you just bought back with you to the mainland.
it's an ok place to go. it's always nice to stop by every few years just to check to see if anything has been added. ultimately i go for the nine west outlet because they always have amazing steals. since it's hawaii, if you can manage being there during boot season, then you've got yourself a winner because people in hawaii usually don't wear boots and the ones that do usually end up looking like the completely uneducated morons that cant afford to leave the island. i've gotten one pair of boots for like $40, and two pairs of heels for $15 and $20 that i've been wearing for YEARS. don't get me wrong, i love me my marc jacobs and jimmy choos, but you can't beat that price for the quality.
Mainland, stop consolidating our stuff!
Or was it consolidated to begin with? I am pained that the Border's went the way of Colin Powell and was downsized. It was such an awesome place to chill and listen to music. Now the music section is reduced to a corner like all mainland Border's.
The best store here is the Banana Republic outlet. They have consistently good clothes. I've been to the one in Gilroy, CA and it was nowhere as good.
This is also home of my favorite Chili's. It's the first one I've been to and it's still the best.
Remember the Discovery Zone place they had before? That was interesting...
The Trolley runs on Hawaiian time...
This review is ok b/c I wasn't impressed with the other stores. In fact, the only store I really go to when I'm in town (in island?) is the Coach Outlet.
If this review was merely based on Coach, it would've been a 5-star. The staff are so friendly and will even calculate the discount & tax for you, if you ask. I've never been disappointed when I've gone & have been there many times. They even hooked my Aunt up, when the stitching on her purse started to come undone. No questions, no drama.
As for the rest of the place, well, it's ok. Banana is a favorite store but I've rarely found good deals there. And, the Polo store is like the outlets in the mainland--ok but no real savings. Other than that, it's really a matter of taste. If you like stores like Levi, Bass, Perfumania, this place is for you. My all time fave Premium Outlet is still the one in Cabazon (and I've been to the one in MN, IL, & OR).
My heart sang and my spirits lifted when, on a recent journey to Kmart, I discovered the Waikele Premium Outlets.
At first it was promising. I scored a cute golf outfit at Izod. Then I journeyed over to Michael Kors, Bebe, BCBG, Saks, Barney's, and Coach.
And then I suffered severe homesick pangs and depression.
These outlets suck compared to those back home in Cali. I'm sorry, but they do. Boring or picked over and outdated outfits, high prices that aren't a great deal, and rude to absolutely oblivious sales staff.
I felt like a deflated balloon when I left.
Is it sad that the main thing that has caused me such sadness and a longing for California were the outlet shopping meccas located there?
Nah.
If you love to stretch your money as far as it can go....this is the place for you!!!
My 2nd favorite outlet mall (after Cabazon)! Because Hawaii residents don't tend to be brand name whores....there's MORE for me!!! I always manage to do some damage at Waikele...they always have cute designer stuff in my size for cheap!
Some of my favorite stores:
- Off 5th
- BCBG
- Bebe
- Armani Exchange
- Barney's NY
- Nine West
- Michael Kors
- Calvin Klein

Lucky (or unlucky) for my, this is five minutes away from my mom and dad's house and has really great outlet stores. Here's a list of the ones I can remember off the top of my head:
bebe, Banana Republic, Nine West, Off 5th (Sak's Outlet), Barney's New York, Local Motion, Reebok, BCBG, Michael Kors, Guess?, IZOD, Vans, Coach, LeSportsac, Levi's, Brooks Brothers, Calvin Klein, MaxMara, Polo, Skechers and more.
Take the Waikele trolley down to the other side of the Waikele Shopping Center (the non-outlet side) - so much to see there as well!
My dad's wife took me to this place. Then I had to tell her that we have the same chain of outlets in California. Anyway, no big deal, because I I found some great stuff at Banana Republic.
I peeked into the Barney's Outlet and Calvin Klein and if I had a little more time, I think I could have done some damage.
I think this place is fantastic!
Van's outlet (cheapest place to get Vans shoes, period), Banana Republic Outlet (true outlet, Banana Repulic quality at Old Navy prices), Coach Outlet, Perfumania (nice for all your frangrance needs) and much much more.
It's not really a mall to "hang out" in, 'cause most of it's out. But if you're looking to actually buy stuff instead of simply meandering around, this place rocks!
This place is cool for some shopping. Although I like the Vacaville and Gilroy premium outlets better. In Waikele, there's Polo Ralph Lauren, BCBG, BEBE, Addidas, Carter's, Coach, Armani Exchange, etc. Prices are good. I think one time we found some Armani Exchange pants for $20 dollars! Who wears pants in HI anyways.
Outside of the outlet area is nice too. You got super Kmart, an Old Navy and Genki and a Korean BBQ.
Cool place to spend the day if you need to shop.
Come check out the japanense tourists! Good stores though....Great place to go for deals and stores like Guess and banana republic if you don't want to deal with the traffic of honolulu. I keep getting suckered into having a converstation with the cute ladies that sell that Sea salt crap!
I hate to say this, but screw Ala Moana. It's too big and crowded and I haven't been there in years. However, each time we make the annual pilgrimage to visit the folks, I make sure to stop by Waikele at least once. Time and again, my husband and I come back with a ton of goodies from Barney's, Saks, and Banana Republic. And sales tax in the islands is a mere 4% (compared to California's 8+%) so it's even more of a bargain for those of us visiting from the "mainland."
At Waikele outlets, the best Banana Republic Outlet ever! My husband spent $250 and purchased 5 nice work outfits! Very low prices but good quality and banana styles. We were impressed....good customer service too. Will return!
I love this place! I don't go into too many store but I always manage to find some great deals. This last time I was here, I managed to pick up quite a few items from Banana Republic, Michael Kors, and Calvin Klein. 9 items for just under $90. That's crazy!
i live half a mile away and BELEIVE me when i say it's awesome! The food court, variety of malls and even a malasada cart near the bank! You'll love it there! Starbucks, jamba Juice, Borders, Bebe, etc. is what you'll find!
I wouldn't really bother going here. Outside of the fabulous deals to be found at the Tumi store, there isn't much. I literally spent a total of maybe ten minutes walking around (excluding inside Tumi) and deciding I'd better not waste any more time there.
Great place to go for good buys! This place was literally 5 minutes away from where I lived in Waipahu so we went here frequently. Good times.
I love this place... Mostly because they have a Coach Outlet Store there. Got a cute wristlet and card holder both in matching navy blue real cheap. There are other stores there too, and can get really cute gifts at a good buy... I like it...
If you enjoy shopping- be it the budget-conscious or the design/trendy/cool-conscious type, you must visit the island's only retail factory outlet for substantial savings!
