Cheapest drinking option at Santana Row. $1.95 for all pints (this month only...beer of the month for other months). I literally spend more money on food here, than I do on the beer! Really good fish tacos and shrimp tacos (shrimp is marinated rather than fried).
$2.50 for tacos a la carte. $1.50 for chips and salsa. $1.95 for draft beers. Friendly staff.
I tend to come here often for lunch because of the cheap beers LOL! Trust me, you'll go back to work a lot happier if you decide to have lunch here ;) just don't tell my boss. -

My and the roommates went to this ski and snowboard convention a while back and we got some coupons for a free meal at Wahoo's - we never turn down free food, so we headed down to Santana Row to cash in our prize before it expired. We got a fish taco meal, and it came with rice and beans, and it was pretty darn good.
The whole place is decked out in surf/snowboard decor, and has a pretty laid-back atmosphere. I enjoyed myself - it was fun. Good for a casual, decently priced meal if you're in the area. One thing I was a little sad about was that they didn't have any fried fish tacos - it was mostly all grilled. I love fried ones... yum.
For a free meal, I would say thumbs up - if I had to pay, I might be a little more critical. -
Review from Mona W.
The fish tacos were really bland and were miles away from real Mexican fare. I suppose people like this place because it is a relatively healthy choice for dining out. Fish were grilled and there were almost nothing hearty in the tacos. (Lettuce in the tacos, really?) Very simple baked beans or rice on the side. Unfortunately that was not what I was looking for. Food really didn't hit the spot. I left feeling unfulfilled.
If you are really watching your weight, you might like this place. If you are looking for tasty food, go somewhere else. -

I had heard about Wahoo many many years ago. And of course all good things. I was pleasantly surprised to discover there was one at Santana Row and had to try it. My friend and i walked in not sure what to expect. The menu is diverse but a little confusing. I was expecting to see the fish tacos as the main, this is what we do, item on the menu but saw more of a sauce promotion as the theme. Honestly i couldn't find the fish tacos so i ordered fish over rice and my friend a chicken burrito. Rice was tasty, fish was okay. I don't think i need to come back, i prefer rubios or baja fresh. i know, i hate to say that, but if i'm going to fast food fish taco, the others are better with flavor.

The fish tacos here are excellent, especially paired with a corona or a jarritos drink. This can be a great place to grab a bite to eat at while you sit outside at their outdoor seating location in the front of the restaurant. It's a more relax and casual dining experience here.

Not the most amazing tacos I've ever had. I love lettuce wraps so i opt to try their skinny tacos. (lettuce wrap instead of tortilla). It was okay, i found it really difficult to eat because it kept falling apart =( The carne asada taco needed more meat. I found the fish tacos to be ok, maybe I'll try having it with regular tortilla next time. Three skinny tacos and guacamole, total came out to around 11 dollars with tip. I would rather go to a taco truck for better tacos!

Really liked this place. Prices are very reasonable. And you can eat outside if you have a dog.

Always enjoy eating here because of the friendly staff and good food at a decent price. In addition to healthy mexican fare, they offer stir-fried vegetables in a tasty sweet soy sauce as a side. My recommendation: onion rings (fantastic batter), side of vegetables, tacos.

Best deal at Santana Row.
The Primo or the selected beer for the month, sometimes even all beers are priced at $1.95. Doesn't get much cheaper than that at The Row.
I always order the carne asada tacos, a side of Maui onion rings and it all just hits the spot.
The cheese enchilada is also a good deal and tastes great.
I once scored a free carne asada burrito from a promo here and this was tasty as well.
For $16.00 for lunch for two including beers, I am one happy customer.
Great customer serivce Wahoo's! Keep it up! -

I recently moved to California from NC so I had never heard of this chain before. We have Chipotle in NC and I've been to Baja Fresh before in VA, but no Wahoo's.
Pretty good fish tacos for a chain restaurant. Loved the white beans especially. I can only ever eat the black beans at Chipotle since the kidney beans there are cooked with pork, which I don't eat in any form, so I was excited that both bean options at Wahoo's are vegetarian. The white beans here have a spicy kick to them too so it was lovely for a spice-o-phile like myself. Also, gotta love brown rice as an option instead of white rice! The nuttiness of the brown rice went really well with the spicy beans.
For the price and quality of the food I've already become a frequent Wahoo'er. -

One of my favorite healthy fast food options. I love their fish tacos and I leave not feeling heavy like most fast food dinning. Their rice and beans are great and the prices are fantastic!!

Must get:
Fish Wet Burrito with the Wahoo's green sauce! It's really good!
They have this special for $1.95 beer: Primo's from the big island!
I also like their tacos, perfect size! The staff is really nice and friendly. For the price, they REALLY cater to your needs.
After pigging out here, stop next door to Starbucks! (; -

I love this place because I feel like you can get a pretty heathly meal and for the price you pay, it's a winner in my book. I mean where else can you get a plate of rice, beans, a taco and 3 taquitos for 7 bucks!! In Santana row!! The food is fresh here and very tasty and i love how you can substitute the regular rice for the brown rice. I remembered when they had that option to switch it for free but the economy has changed and I understand if they need to charge extra which think is like 50 cents anyways.
I love coming here with my friend because we will order 2 plates of food with 2 coronas and still come under $25. We just use the money we save for a pitcher of sangria at Sino! Which is not an expensive evening night out. -

2.5 stars and I rounded it up to 3 because the cashiers are pleasant.
This specific location is a hit-or-miss for me. I usually get the Banzai veggie burrito with brown rice. Sometimes the veggies are overcooked to mush and sometimes the brown rice is so dried out that the grains have crispy edges that stick in your teeth. One would think that mixing dry rice with wet beans sort of reconstitutes the rice, but no, customers know it doesn't really work that way.
Yet I continue to come back and gamble on the 50/50 chance that it'll be a day they have the veggies cooked right and the brown rice attended to.
Note: Ordering your burrito "wet" is fun. -

I love wahoo's! As a girl from southern california, I loved going to the beach and getting wahoo's growing up. My boyfriend and I come here on weekends with our dog to sit on the patio, enjoy an easy meal, grab a beer, and relax.
Their shrimp salad is so yummy and is just the right mix of vegetables and protein.
Their chips and salsa should be complimentary (as they are at most mexican restaurants), which is why I'm giving them one less star. Also, the tables could be a little cleaner (we are eating on them, after all!) -

Their spicy fish tacos are pretty tasty. Used to get them with rice and beans, but it is too much food. The staff is friendly and chilled.
I love sitting outside, enjoy my food, have a cold beer and do some people watching. It is quite the circus. -

Milpitas, CA
This is a place that I've come to every time, salivate at the menu, then get my food and be grossly disappointed. Everything is so spicy, so heavy, and I'm always left feeling really dissatisfied.
Honestly, I'd rather get fish tacos from Rubio's or a Mexican food truck. It doesn't help that I requested to the cashiers multiple times to make sure the dish is not spicy and I end up finishing only less than half because the food is so bad.
And especially when you are sandwiched between two amazing restaurants (i.e. Pluto's and Counter Burger), I don't know why you'd choose this place over the other ones. -

It was ok experience I had the enchilda dish with black beans and brown rice. The dish was very bland to me. I was expecting more flavor and there just wasn't. I don't think I would come back again. My friend and I were sitting outside and the counter burger joint was right next door and I couldn't help but eyeing there dish instead of mine.lol sad. I should have went to the counter.

Review from Tram N.
So I started my no meat excursion today because I watched Food, Inc. last night on Netflix. Yes, I know I shouldn't have watched those types of documentaries especially since I love food- to eat out, to bake, to cook.. everything.
I don't want to mention the scene that made me stop the movie..
BUT..
After my pleasant 3 hour walk on the Los Gatos Creek Trail and my shopping spree at Trader Joe's just minutes before I arrived at Santana Row specifically to try Wahoo's because a) it was on my bookmarks to try b) I wanted to try every dining outlet at Santana Row [casual and fine dining] c) I was enticed w/ the tofu on the menu and d) I needed to make a purchase at Paper Source.
Thank goodness I came around 4 which is a lot earlier than dinner time for the majority of folks. There was a talent show of some sort outside.. I almost wanted to eat outside but figure it'd be best to enjoy my meal by the window overlooking the festivities outside. SCORE! My table is the only table overlooking the outside so I felt I had the place to myself.
When you walk in you need to go to your left and walk towards the cash register to order or look at the billboard menu. After paying for your meal you are given a # then shortly afterwards the nice staff brings your food out to the table for you. Kudos because although the restaurant isn't big but it's rather spacious.. they have an outdoors area too!
There are a lot of choices- burritos, bowls, tacos, enchiladas, taquitos, chips/salsa, fries, onion rings.. I'm sure there were more choices. You can opt for brown rice to be healthy if you wanted to! I was in between 2 choices- the burrito or the bowl. For some reason I don't care to intake carbs from rice (you'd assume so because I'm very Vietnamese) but no, I ordered the Wet Burrito.. hehe.. it sounds kind of kinky but yes, a Wet Burrito. I got it w/ tofu and mushrooms.. inside were lettuce.. forgot what else is in there but definitely no beans and no rice! I didn't care what was in it as long as it doesn't have meat in it and that it tasted GODDAMN delicious! I got the spicy sauce.. chile verde smothered all over the burrito.. I guess that's what makes it wet.. I ate 1/4 of it and boxed the rest home.
Now.. not that I have good sense of appetite control... but because for appetizers I ordered an order of onion rings which came w/ 2 dipping selections.. ketchup and ranch. I was dipping my rings in both.. YUMMY. The soda (Diet Pepsi) was refillable but I was really full from my appetizers, 1/4 of my burrito, and the 1 timer soda so I was done.
The guy that got my box for my burrito was very smiley.. either I looked funny, looked good, or he is just a perky and smiley person.. either ways.. a pleasant ass experience and BTW.. I think I am in love w/ Wahoo's tofu/mushroom Wet Burrito.Listed in: Latin Food, Santana Row

If you're looking for a healthier choice at Santana Row, then you have two choices. Pluto's and Wahoo's. Not sure if this can even be considered mildly healthy, but I guess if you order the fish tacos. Since this place is at Santana Row, parking and the crowd varies depending on the time and day. The good thing is that it's close to the 6 story parking structure.
What Wahoo's known for is in its name: the fish tacos. They serve them in either spicy or mild seasonings. With their combo platters, you can get a nice fish burrito and a shrimp taco. Prices are pretty decent, under $10.
Service is sort of existent here since they bring you your food, and seating here is fairly decent. Over here in Douchebag-ville, there aren't many healthy options. Thus, you can't go wrong with Pluto's and Wahoo's. Interestingly enough, they're next door to each other! -
Review from Gianna D.
When I come here with my good friend Jess we both always tend to get the Wahoos salad with Carne Asada, dressing on the side and it is the BOMB. The Carne Asada is seasoned perfectly and very tender. It has delicious guacamole, some really good salsa which I always order extra of, and a huge bed of salad leaves. It comes with a little bit of cheese and your choice of dressing. I go with the roasted red pepper cilantro on the side which is really great dressing. I also add a whole bunch of hot stuff as I love everything extra spicy and cannot live without some hotness on my food. This salad is genuinely HUGE and I always leaved stuffed after eating it and I believe it only costs about $8.xx depending on if you order it with a drink. I either just get an ice water with lemon or an iced tea.
The ambiance in here is pretty fun as they have all kinds of decorative things all over the wall and it is pretty fun in here. No matter what time I have been in here it is usually pretty crowded with a wide age range. I have noticed that a lot of people get a huge pitchers of beer so maybe they have some sort of special on those or something? I'll have to look in to that and give it a try sometime with a friend when looking for a god night out.
Although I have only tried the salad all of the other food looks absolutely delicious so I will have to give everything else a try the other nights I am here and see what else lights my fire as well. Can't wait to give something else a go too! Especially the Fish Tacos which what they are named after obviously.
The only difficult thing about this place is the parking, Santana Row can be awfully busy and the garage parking can definitely be quite busy and take upwards of 15-20 minutes to park depending on the day and time which can be annoying if you just wan to grab a quick bite.
I think the food here is really good and it's always a choice between Pluto's or Wahoo's Fish Tacos for a quick nutritious and affordable bite to eat when I am at Santana Row with Friend or for a quick bite to eat after school or work. -

We've been going here for many years. We love that it's healthy, reasonably priced, and if you're lucky you'll get a table outside on the weekends and can enjoy some live music.
I love their onion rings, and regular fish tacos. They have a salsa that is fantastic and goes really well with the rice. I don't like rice that much, but love eating rice there so I can enjoy the salsa!
The staff is very friendly, and service is great.
Great place to go with friends and family -- always a great meal, and great value. -
Review from Lisa R.
It's the location that made me go up to 3. My Santana Row love/hate relationship is well known amongst my circle of friends. For such ambivalence, I'm there far too often. I really wanted to love Wahoo's, but I can't. I think it's because they really don't have enough variety for vegetarians, and that is okay, they are pretty transparent in their name, animals with gills play a big part of their identity.
I agree with Ben H L, I am more interested in the strip mall tacquerias that are more authentic and have some real kick. This is the Americanized, generic, safe option.
I like the outdoor seating option since on a sunny day, it's a good place to catch some vitamin D and people watch.
If you like beer, they have pitchers and you can hang out with your pals and kick back. -

This is one of the chiller spots on SR- came here for a small lunch and to sit out in the sun to enjoy weather and the live music they always have here on weekends.
Great chill spot thats easy on the wallet. Wahoo's food never disappoints when you in the mood for it! -

Wahooooooooooo! I love this place!
The last time I came here, I got the Classic Burrito with Cajun Chicken - Wet style & with the green sauce. It was an orgasm in my mouth! Highly recommended :) Their enchiladas are also really good!
They were also having a deal for a bottle of Tecate for only $1.99! -

Saratoga, CA
During March of this year, they had some promotion for $5 pitchers! It was awesome! They have three types of beer on tap (Usually a Hefeweizen, the house beer, and a pale ale). The fish tacos were pretty good, and the other food is decent.
There are no complaints from myself or my friends! Nothing is OUTSTANDING, though, but it is good for its money for a taco place in Santana Row. -
Review from Samantha T.
Santa Clara, CA
I went here with a massive fish taco craving, having never been before I assumed they would be amazing since "fish tacos" is in the name. I spent pretty much my last dollar here in order to help cure said craving and asked for guacamole on the side. The guac turned out to be a great idea as my fish tacos were pretty bland and dry. The spiciness was nice but I dont know about having spiciness without flavor. The two should be synonymous. Unfortunately after returning home after feeling pretty pleased with the price of my meal and the time it took them to get my order ready, I learned there was no guac in my bag. This was very disappointing since it turned out to be a much needed addition to my meal.
On the other hand, I did find their white rice to be somehow quite delicious. I don't know what they put in there but they did a great job. My boyfriend seemed to be very pleased with his chicken bowl with brown rice, also noting his rice was fantastic.
It's a good, fun location. If you're out to do more than just eat fish tacos..maybe be social or shop, then I recommend Wahoos. It seemed like a good alternative to delving into the food court at the Westfield Mall across the street to get to Rubios. Prices were better as well. But next time, I may just break down and venture over there when fish tacos are the only antidote to my ailments. -

This place is awesome! Considering you are on "Santana Row", if you don't want to spend so much $$$ on food, this is a great place to eat at.
I had the chicken tacos w/ rice. Tacos were good and the meat had flavor to it. It was pretty filling. -

I miss Wahoo's since moving from OC and San Diego and hope they open one in the East Bay soon.
Until then, Wahoo's in San Jose will just have to do.
I went for dinner and got a combo with two grilled fish enchiladas with green sauce. No black beans here, only the spicy white beans for me!
In order to satisfy my craving until I can make it back next time I purchased another combo and took it for lunch the next day.
If you're looking for a quick, healthy Mexican meal, this is the place to be. -
Review from Anh D.
The fish in the tacos were dry. There isn't enough sauce or vegetables on the tacos, and they just weren't good.
My cousin had the carne asada tacos, and they were also not the best of quality.
The chips that came with our meal were also really dry and stale. I almost chipped a tooth!
The salsa was okay but nothing special.
The prices were also surprisingly expensive for what we were getting.
The staff were really nice, though. That's not enough to get me to come back, though.
I will not return to eat a meal here. Thanks. -
Review from Andrew S.
I give this place 3 stars because they have fries on the menu and I'm a sucker for fries...But I didn't order their fries, I stuck to what they're known for...fish tacos.
To be honest, I've had fish tacos better than Wahoo's. It just didn't hit the spot for me. I thought the fish was dry and it just didn't hit the spot for me. Their beans and rice were just okay. Their beans tasted like normal canned beans served luke warm and the rice was really just rice with some tomatoes sprinkled on top for flavor. Would of preferred if they served Mexican rice, but alas...I should have known that a place that serves a side of fries with a taco doesn't serve Mexican rice, rather a choice of brown rice or white rice.
Perhaps I'll just go there for the fries next time and skip the fish tacos. -
Review from Emily M.
Palo Alto, CA
I've been here two times and gotten the exact same things both times - 2 fish tacos, black beans, brown rice.
The first time I went here, the tacos were great. Everything tasted light and fresh. Tacos are served on small, corn tortillas, with salsa and shredded cabbage.
The second time I went here, everything tasted old. The fish tasted no-so-fresh, the rice was underdone and old tasting. The beans were ok. We got some chips and guacamole the second time and the guac looked a little brown to me. Maybe it's because it was a Saturday? They hadn't gotten a fresh delivery lately? I don't know - it was just pretty crappy the second time around.
Also, there was cheese on my fish taco, which as far as I'm concerned, is a big no-no. I don't think there was cheese on my taco the first time, but there definitely was the second time and I just see fish + cheese as wrong!
Overall, if I can have my food tasted the way it did the first time, I'll definitely go back - the amount of food is a great value and I love that you can get brown rice and black beans. But if the food tastes old again, I won't be back! -

I was pretty excited to try some fish tacos from Wahoo's, but I don't know...I just wasn't impressed. I ordered two fish tacos a la carte and my friend ordered the popular banzai burrito with chicken. I'm not sure which fish was in season, wahoo or mahi mahi, but the fish in my tacos were dry and not very well seasoned. The corn tortillas were not very authentic and the tacos were just not appetizing overall. My friend didn't like his banzai burrito either. It came with rice, black beans, banzai vegetables, salsa, and chicken. The salsa made the burrito too wet and the chicken was dry and bland.
The only reason I see people liking this fast food joint is if they bathe their tacos and burritos in hot sauce. Other than that, everything is just way too bland. I admit, the customer service was excellent, but that's not enough to bring me back.Listed in: Finger Linkin' Goodies.

3.5 Stars
I've always walked past Wahoo's Fish Tacos in Santana Row, but finally decided to give it a try the other night. It's definitely a more Americanized Mexican chain, but the ingredients tasted really fresh and price was right considering it was Santana Row.
That night I order Combo Platter #2, which consisted of two enchiladas for $6.25. To accompany the enchiladas you can pick from Ahi White Rice or Brown Rice (extra charge) and Black Beans or Spicy Cajun White Beans. I chose the Ahi White Rice and the Black Beans.
I was offered two choices for sauces: red or green, but I managed to ask the server to try one of each. I couldn't pick a favorite between the two and they both tasted good. You can also pick from the following for types of enchilada fillings:
*Fish
*Chicken
*Carne Asada
*Carnitas
*Mushrooms
*Banzai Veggies
*Vegetarian
*Shrimp (extra charge)
I picked the carnitas and the pork had a wet, mushy texture to it. The flavor was slightly bland and I generally enjoy carnitas with some crispy bits in it.
As another reviewer mentioned, portion wise there is a lot of food, but your main entree is small in comparison to the amount of carbs Wahoo puts on your plate. My enchiladas were pretty thin, but there was a mound of beans and rice. If the enchiladas were slightly larger I would've given this place 4 stars for sure.
I'd be interested in coming back to try their Fish Tacos some day. -

I checked this place out for lunch with an old friend from high school. I love the options they have for different tacos and burritos. But I especially love the pitchers of beer you can also order. I got a carne aside taco and a chicken burrito, and it filled me up pretty well. Definitely gaining some of that holiday weight :( Overall, pretty good spot, although if I had to choose between this and Rubio's for best chain beach-themed Mex joint, Rubio's wins!
Thinking about this place is definitely making my mouth water again! -

I hadn't been here since my first experience. Completely different.
I ordered the 2 taco combo platter. I'm not going to lie, the tacos are good, but the whole "combo" part fails.
I got brown rice and half black and regular beans. Bland, boring, and they give a hefty serving. It's not even worth it.
I recommend to just get the tacos. The fish taco and the carnitas taco is the best.
Service is really good though, and go ahead and ask for free stickers, they'll give it to you.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Lan D.
This place is a chain, albeit not that pervasive of a chain. Their enchiladas are good, the fish tacos are (of course) good, but my favorite thing to get here is the Maui (beer battered) onion rings. Without this place, I think I might not frequent Santana Row as much as I do.
