Golf takes to much work to be good at so I am pretty much a special occasion golfer.  I am good enough that I do not make a complete fool of myself but no one is going to insist I play on their side in a golf out.

With that said my 25Th  High School Reunion (ESM class of 1980) scheduled a golf outing on the Friday before the reunion.  It was planned as a 9 hole shoot gun start at Wa-Noa Golf Club.  I had never played golf at Wa-Noa before since I was not a golfer growing up (I am still not).  

Unfortunately, I was late due to a flipped over garbage truck on I81 so I missed the shot gun start.  However, one of my classmates was late as well.  So it worked out.  He and I grabbed a golf cart and started at the first tee.

Part of Wa-Noa's charm is its lack of sophistication.  For the most part it is a goat track.  An opportunity to shoot a few holes of golf before the real games start in the 19th Hole.  

The course is flat and most of the hazards are trees and ponds.  One of the things I remember at Wa-Noa was that it always seemed to be flooded.

I ended up having a lot of fun.  The course was just right for what the day called for.  On opportunity to catch up with some old friends and not take it too seriously.  My kind of golf course.
