We stopped in here on our way through GJ this evening and had a wonderful dinner.

All three of us had the chicken chimigangas which are HUGE by the way. They come half covered in cheese-chili sauce and half covered in green chile sauce with diced tomatoes, sour cream and lettuce. They were excellent! The chips and salsa are made fresh and were wonderful...along with the fresh brewed iced tea.

The ambiance is not that of a traditional Mexican restaurant, but more intimate with a lot of nice wooden tables and paneling as well as art.

Our server was wonderful, knowledgeable and a fun lady who made our experience even better. We also were seated quickly and got our meals quickly as well. While they do seem to have a limited menu, they seem to do those things well, which is admirable. I definitely recommend trying this place if you haven't yet!

I had the chicken burrito here.  It wasnt bad, but slimed with chilli peppers a little too much.  Had the apple burrito for desert, it comes with ice cream and was very satisfying. Very good service, friendly people.  One thing that was puzzling, the menu was firm about no substitutions, come on people, flexibility makes a business work.

People raved about this place when I first moved here, but I am not really sure why.  We came here latish on a Thursday night, and although there was a bit of a wait, we were seated pretty quickly with good service.

I heard the crab enchiladas were great, so I ordered them.  They turned out to be really, really greasy and overly cheesy.  I could barely finish the half-order, and my stomach was a bit shaky afterward.  My friend got a burrito, and he seemed pleased with his selection.

I think this place is the kind where you gets lots and lots of food, but it's kind of overdone and has too much going on.

The service was great, and I really enjoyed the ambiance.

Average food, terrible service.  Very limited menu. Ordered a ham and turkey sandwich, asked for no ham and was told, "the chef wont do it."  Another person in our party wanted the ranch chicken sandwich with no ranch and was told no also.  If you dont like whats on the menu, as is, I would not recommend.  This one is a "pass" for me the next time I am in the neighborhood.

Been here several times while travelling on business.  Good food and service.  A full parking lot is always a good sign!

I have eaten there many times and I do not like this type of food (Mexican) but my wife loves it and thinks it is the best in Grand Junction.  I have only found one meal that I liked.  The steak is way overpriced but ok.

Service is always good but you better get there early or you will have a long wait.  The bar is fine but small.  All of the servers we have had were very nice people and I enjoy going there.  More expensive than most places in town.

We showed up at 20 minutes till close but it wasnt at all inconvenient for them. They greeted us and sat us right away. Our waitress was really nice. When I couldnt decided what to drink she said she would surprise me. It was a pleasant surprise and she brought me a very tasty mixed drink. (didnt remember what it was)

We ordered the Tuscan salad for an appetizer and even though it was kinda expensive ($10), it was well worth it. Just amazing!

For an entree I ordered the crab enchiladas and my hubby ordered the Royal Burrito which had elk meat. Both were very good. The enchiladas had a little too much cheese for my taste and my hubby didnt like the rice that came on his plate. My hubby also loved the selection of beers they had.

The waitress was very nice and attentive but not too much. We stayed 30 minutes after closing but noone minded. I would recommend this place if you're passing through. I wouldnt call it a mexican restaurant but more of a mush-mortion of alot of different things.

Also, I wouldnt recommend for kids. They only had two items on the "kids menu". Nachos and burrito. Not a very kid-friendly menu. Thank goodness it was date night.

On the recommendation from my hotel I found this nice steak house. WW Peppers does not take reservations There was a short wait in the bar for my table. The decor is right out of the 70"s. I ordered the New York and my son the Rib Eye. Well cooked and flavorful. Service was fast. Dinner for two $53 with tip

If you are in the Grand Junctions area stop by WW Peppers.

I just got back from this place and I wanted to write about it while it's fresh in my memory.

Short version:  I had a great meal.

Long version:  It's an average Tuesday night in Grand Junction, but there was still a slight wait at WW Peppers - a testament to how popular the place is with locals.  Definitely an older crowd, with a slightly upscale ambiance, but the prices were only a tad over the average chain restaurant.  The entrees were priced between $10 and $17, and the steaks ran from $22 to $34 depending on the cut.

They do not have an on-line menu (I called and asked before hand) but I would describe the place as a Southwestern/Mexican seafood  joint that is also a steakhouse.  I had the crab enchilada and it was fantastic.  There was an extremely healthy amount of crab meat, and the flavors were simple and bold.  I ordered the "smaller" portion along with a dinner salad and it was more than enough food to fill me up.

The beer selection was decent, they had a German Dunkel that I don't find many places, and a good variety of Colorado micro brews, like New Belgium and Fat Tire.  I didn't order any desert, but I saw a few things go by to other tables that looked pretty damn good.

Service was solid, they were quick to fill my drink and very attentive and friendly.  I would certainly go back next time I am looking for a quality meal in Grand Junction.

BOB W.  I'm almost certain you put your review to the wrong restaurant (not a steak house -- Mexican food).

ANYWAY - My daughter won a free trip to Grand Junction, CO, sponsored by the Double Tree Hotel, which has excellent shuttle service around the area.  On our way from the airport to the hotel in the shuttle, we happened to notice W.W. Peppter, and the shuttled drive said the food was really good.

So on that Saturday (Feb 21) we decided to have dinner there.  We had a short wait in the bar area and could order drinks if we like.  We were seated after about a 20 minute wait.

You have your choice on most items of a "full" or "small" serving.  We both got "small" servings which were huge and had to get a "doggie" bag.  Everyone was so friendly (on that note -- everyone in Grand Junction was so nice and friendly).

I had no idea this was a Mexican restaurant, as the sign does not display it or I missed it.   Nevertheless, I love Mexican food (my favorite), so this was great.  Everything was so fresh and crisp and cooked just right.  I was "in awe" . . .

If you live in or visit Grand Junction, do yourself a favor and eat at W.W. Pepper......delicious!!

The atmosphere was very nice, especially if you are on a romantic date.

I have stopped by WW Peppers about 4 times now when passing through Grand Junction and the food and service have always been very good.  Since I like to try new places when away from home, it says a lot that i make this a stop when passing through town.  I always stick to the mexican choices on the menu and have been happy with with both chicken and steak dishes and feel that the menu is appropriately priced for the atmosphere and quality.

This was a welcome respite from a long road trip along I70. Amazing service, and a good selection of southwestern food. I had the Carne Asada, which had very generous portions. Be sure to try the hot salsa - it's quite good and the server was happy to refill our salsa numerous times.

Blech.  Bad food.  There are several much better places to eat at in GJ.  I only tried this place one, but I'll never be back.

A local favorite - ample food for reasonable prices with friendly service.  We had a wait even on a slow weeknight in November but were shown to our table relatively quickly.  The people at the next table over lived nearby and got steaks, so I know they serve that too, but we had the southwestern food.  One scrunchy forehead moment - I was surprised that they charged for chips and salsa, but they were good.  The southwestern food may not have been authentic, but the portions were ample and the food was comfort food -- warm with lots of carbs.  Great service.
