There is good customer service and then there are those shopkeepers who make you feel like part of the family from the first moment you walk in the door. William Vrooman has the gift. I've purchased a few items from his gallery over the years including a Woodpecker door knocker that still makes me smile every time I see it. This time I returned to purchase a vintage poster for a friend and was happy to see that he still carries the line.
They didn't have the particular poster I wanted in stock so he told me it was no problem at all and that he'd contact the artist and have it shipped directly to my home in Oregon. Bonus - no sales tax!
When I was leaving, he said, "Thanks for stopping by my home, come back any time."
