I also got my hair done by Richard this past June and although I was skeptical at first about letting this guy cut, dye, and style my hair........ I ABSOLUTELY LOVED MY HAIR IN THE END!!
Richard had done such a great job on my hair. I traveled all the way from San Jo, Ca because I had heard about his work from a family member and I needed a new hair look for my graduation. Best lil road trip ever lol.
He had taken the time to ask about my daily hair routines, how I wear it and what I put in it. I also bought some of the products he uses, "Pureology", great stuff that works.
I had thought I was the only one who had traveled a great length to get my hair done, but his next client after me had flown in from NEW YORK just to get his hair cut and dyed from Richard! This at first was unbelievable to me, but as I waited for my hair to dye, I was watching this guys head go from black hair with faded out red chucks of color to thick chunks of this bad ass cherry red color highlighted into this guy's black hair. I should of asked this guy to get a picture of his new hairstyle because it looked amazing That guy was very satisfied with Richard's work he had a constant painted on his face when he was leaving.
So after my experience with getting my hair done and watching that guy get his hair done I highly recommend going to this shop, even if you don't get Richard the other stylist's work was very good too, especially the guy with a sick ass pair of scissors tatted on his neck. I think his name is Ryan. The ladies that work there are cool too but I was able to watch Ryan' work from Richard's chair lol.
I love, love, love this place! I started going here on a recommendation from a good friend that always has fabulous hair. I was here a couple of weeks ago (my second time) and Richard cut my hair beautifully again. (I think Amber cuts my friends hair) Yes, it is a bit expensive, I paid $70 plus tip, but when you keep getting compliments from strangers, it is well worth a extra few dollars! Besides he really took the time to figure out what I wanted, asked me about my hair routine and how I normaly wear it, and at the end of my appointment he took the time to show me different QUICK ways of styling it. So now I never have any problem getting my hair to look "salon perfect" everyday with just a few tricks I learned. There was, at no point, any rushing through my appointment. I deffinatly got what I paid for. This guy is worth his weight in gold.
Very cool shop also; all of the art work, corrugated metal, furniture and decorations give it a very hip vibe. All of the stylists that work at voodoo's are fun, highly skilled and really friendly. Like the location too, easy parking and right by Taylors and Oxbow, so you can grab something to eat after wards. I didn't have any problem with richard being late, as some one else posted; ok, maybe he was 5 min late for my 11am appointment. I hardly care when my hair looks this good. I highly recommend this place to all of my friends
This place is TITS! Seriously the most capable and talented Hair stylist in the Valley. Don't waste your time trying to find the Right person to do your do just call and make an appointment. " Oh you want the savvy and stunning Red head to do your hair... Great choice!" She's not only a stylist, but she's also the owner. Amber is the only one I will let touch my hair... Though I have to say all the stylist are talented, educated and have great personal technique and touch. Seriously check it fools!
Sooo...on the recommendation of a coworker with a fab hair cut, I went to Voodoo again, but this time, Ryan was recommended to me. Oh yeah baby! Thanks for the rockin' new doo! Ryan was on time, gave me great suggestions for my hair and did a fantastic technical cut. I'll be going back to Ryan again!

This place is a great salon, with awesome, friendly people and good prices. The owners are slowly updating the salon with new floors, cabinets, lighting and really focusing on the experience and the finished product. Molly, who is one of the owners is competent, professional and continually educating herself and others. she also is a trainer for Joico hair products, so if you need Joico and a good consultation - this is the place to go. I would highly recommend Pin Ups to anyone!
this place is good. very expensive though, especially for a trim, which u must have after highlights. I like it but I always want to try another salon, so I dont know if I like it that much.
