LOVE this thrift store. The VOA on W, Broad is a huge store. They mostly carry clothes however they also have lots of household items and even cars for auction each Saturday. Here's the thing about this VOA, you have to give yourself like 2 hours to really go through everything.
You have to go through the hangers item by item to find those few gems, but boy oh boy is it worth it. You'll find name brands like Ann Taylor Lofts, Abercrombie, Express, Liz Claiborne, Tommy, Gap, Banana Republic and more and some even are brand new with the tags. It's almost like the thrill of the hunt. I told a girlfriend of mine about how wonderful the place is and she is now hooked. Her first visit she took her teenage niece who got almost 20 items of clothing for less than $40.
The clothes typically start at $1.99 and I've really not seen anything higher than $5.99. Today I bought 1 pair of gorgeous like new dress slacks, 3 sweaters and 2 pairs of like new stockings for $16. I find it really hard to go to the department stores and pay full price when I know there are TONS of name brand items at VOA for a fraction of the cost.
If you haven't been here, it's definitely worth a trip. GIve yourself some time however and as tedious as it may be, go through item by item and you'll be walking out cheesin' from ear to ear. -

Maybe I came on an off day. I'll have to make it back here eventually, but today I was just not wowed. The prices are great, however, and the inside is nice and spacious. I bought a shirtwaist dress and a scarf for less than $2 total(one of the tags was discounted). So no complaints there. I was just kinda underwhelmed by the book and game selection at this thrift shop.

Yes, this is the best V.O.A. around. No doubt. It has a huge inventory that's extra special cheap. I bought a couch there for 20 bucks. That's completely unheard of at thrift stores these days. And they have a way bigger stock of furniture than most.
This V.O.A. is about 6 miles west of downtown on Broad St. Traffic can be slow on the way out, and the scenery is especially desolate. It usually takes me about 20 minutes or so to make it all the way there. It's worth the trip though. I bought all kinds of junk and clutter there for 8 dollars today. -

I dropped by to grab some blankets for wrapping furniture etc when we move. Wow, this place is HUGE! Ok, so as you enter the doors, that dusty/musty/old lady smell you come to expect from this kind of thrift store slaps you soundly in the face, but the place is extremely tidy and well-organized, and they have a ridiculously huge inventory of clothes, shoes, housewares, kids' toys, books etc etc. I didn't have time to browse the place, but I know I could have found some real bargains (I wish I'd checked out the jeans section - there were literally hundreds of pairs). As it is, I left with five large blankets at $2 each, and two brand new silk scarves (complete with sales tags) for $4 each. Nice!
