Pretty much all throughout my education at UCLA, I visited Oakley's Barbershop for my haircuts.  I had a couple of unfortunate trips to the on-campus hair place, but fool me twice and shame on me.  I loved the $14 student haircut prices and the convenience when I was living on or near campus.  After graduating and moving to Inglewood, I still visited campus to see friends enough to justify getting cuts in Westwood, but since moving to Lomita...well it's not really convenient anymore.

My wife recently when to Vogue for a cut herself and Daisy styled her for the first visit.  She really liked Daisy's work and the salon's prices, so she encouraged me to give it a shot (since I needed to find a place that was actually close).  I called and made an appointment for Daisy as instructed (you do what the wife tells you).

When I arrived, I'll be honest, I felt awkward.  I was the only dude there and most of the girls were getting their eyebrows done.  I tried to pretend it wasn't weird, but they all knew I was out of place.  Regardless, I met Daisy and after a few minutes of her finishing up her prior appointments she sat me down.

I described the cut that I liked (since I knew how it was described by my previous stylist at Oakley's) and she got to work while I crossed my fingers.  I don't have a really fancy style or anything, but I had a recent bad experience at the local Super Cuts which involved me giving instructions and immediately having the stylist run a shaver down the enter of my head and destroy my do.  Since then, I have been very nervous about it.  I am simple, but I like to look good (in my head at least).

She began by going from the bottom and created three layers and asked me what I thought as she was going so as to make sure she didn't do anything wrong.  She left the front longer to gauge length, for example, and then when I said it was fine she finished it out.

She was very fast (it was the Thursday before Memorial Day and she was full of appointments before leaving for Baja for the rest of the weekend) but not rushed.  All in all, it went well.  My wife gave her approval, as did I.  And the total was only $15 ($7 less than Oakley's non-student cost).  I liked those numbers and those results.

Summary: I can't speak for anyone else, but Daisy is great.  The prices are Super Cuts cheap but with the confidence of a real practiced stylist behind the scissors.  I'm going back on Friday and will let you know how round 2 goes.  If you're a guy, don't be afraid...come keep me company.

No matter who I see for eyebrows they do a great job. I am very picky about my brows and whenever I have gone somewhere else my brows ended up looking like Drake (the "rapper"). Then I come back there and with ten tons of hair on my face I look at the two masterpieces and question why I ever stray. They get dinged two stars because sometimes the customer service is terrible and/or you call to see if they are busy when you're about 3 minutes away or grabbing a bite and they say they aren't busy and you wait 30-40 to get some brows done.

    Pros: they offer threading
Cons: poor customer service, poorly staffed - wait for threading could be close to 30mins most of the time, inconsistent quality

Depending on who you get, you'll either be very happy with your results or disappointed.
Daisy and Deena are excellent at threading and are the people who I would reccommend if it's your first time.
I think they hired a new person who was very young and inexperienced... because when she threaded my eyebrows, they bled.  I haven't returned since.

I have been going to Sonia (the owner of vogue) for 11 YEARS!!! I now live in Beverlywood (very far from Torrance) and drive all the way to Vogue to get waxed. I have been to the best beauty salons in Beverly Hills, and I keep going back to Vogue. I have been to the 3 locations (2 at the del amo mall and one in the rolling hills plaza) and love all 3. Even if I move to Italy, I believe I would still get waxed at Vogue. You ladies are the best! Thanks.

I went to the one at Del Amo mall. Service was fast and friendly. My brow shaping was great. Pricing was $22 for eyebrows, lip and chin (a steal, if you ask me!). Lubna is the name of the woman who performed my threading services.

Came to Vogue Salon because they offer the Feather touch eyebrow tattooing...and i've been wanting to this for a while. Met with Sonia who took care of me, i'm so happy with her work. I haven't had eyebrows for quite some time and so waking up to eyebrows on my face is a PLUS! I've been getting compliments ever since. She's your go to gal, if your looking to get yoru eyebrows tattood. Couldn't of asked for better results. =0p

I was actually planning to review this location a while back to say how much i liked the way they do my eyebrows but after yesterday and the horrible service i received, it's a different story.

I called ahead of time to make sure they had time to do my eyebrows since they are often very busy. Whomever answered said that they had time and to just walk on in. I was happy to hear that since I desperately needed my eyebrows done.

When I walked in, there was one women having her hair done and two other ladies waiting in the sitting area. I took my seat and picked up a magazine to pass the time while I waited what i thought would be 10-15 min. About 5 minutes pass and I was starting to wonder why there wasn't anybody getting called up. I looked around for somebody who worked there (besides the women doing hair) and saw that there were two women towards the back of the salon. Why weren't they attending to their three, now four, waiting costumers? They were taking their time eating and talking to each other. After another 10 minutes one of the ladies finally decides to take a customer. She was literally dragging her feet as she walked over to do her job. After she was done with one customer she decided she was going to eat more and leave the three of us waiting. Fed up; I immediately got up and walked out of there! VERY poor customer service. I usually have a good experience whenever I go here but this is the worst customer service i've experienced anywhere.

My eyebrow threading girl I went to for years left the place I went to. So I went to try this place out. I was a little hesitant considering I had one girl I went to. So I tried the young lady there. She was real nice and did a good job on my brows. I probably go back if I had no other choice but I just wasnt WOWED. Overall good. Im just very picky with my brows.

i go here to get my eyebrows, etc. threaded for such a decent price. eyebrows are only $8. eyebrows and upperlip $13. full face for $25.

the service is great. the women who do the threading always took their time with every visit. they make sure the job is done right at a slow pace. they're never in a hurry, even though there are three other ladies waiting for the same service.

they always do small talk which i love. i'm always in pain while being threaded, and talking to them seem to always ease the pain. last time i was there, they told me, "pain is beauty" and we had an in-depth conversation about how men don't have to do threading. lol. i love the atmosphere there. really great decor, and they have a big screen tv at the waiting lounge that always has a movie on. the workers are super friendly. i'd recommend this place to anyone for its threading service!

This place is great!  The ladies are very nice and take their time with you.  One even stayed after hours when I made the mistake of coming in so close to closing!  I get the threading and my hair cuts done here and it's really affordable.  The threading is so cheap!  I definitely recommend this place to anyone wary of trying out a new salon.  It will quickly become your only one.

There was a vogue beauty studio by Sears, and I went to that one to get my eyebrows threaded for prom. The girl that did it actually cut 2 chunks of skin from under my eyebrow and it hurt a long time after. I guess it just depends who you get because my friend that went with me did have that happen to her.

threading is my favorite way of eyebrow hair removal/shaping. it's been tough living at least a hundred miles from a city that offers it, too. turning to yelp, i found vogue while staying in the l.a. area and decided to give them a go. very glad i did!
while living in chicago, i would go to a place where i'd take a number and wait with about 40-50 people in a small, hot, & stuffy room with flickering florescent lighting. threading can be worth that kind of fuss, though i had a completely different and wonderful experience at vogue.
calling ahead, they informed me that eyebrow threading could be walk-in (nice). still, i opted to visit mid-week rather than on a fri or sat, and there was no wait at all. i met with sanchi, who was filling in for someone who was out ill. sanchi was very skilled, focused, and works at vogue's other (del amo) location. she was also pleasant, warm and relaxed.
let's face it, whether it's tweezing, waxing, or threading, it all stings a little. it is never anything that would be categorized as unbearable. reclining in the studio chair, sanchi directed me as to how and where she wanted my skin held taut so she could breeze through her handy work. she had very little lag-time and before i knew it, with a quick dab of cooling aloe to finish, i was out of there less than 10 min. later.
having fair skin and light eyebrow hair, waxing always left an unnatural look as it would leave the area around my eyebrows shiny and irritated... for days. with threading and it's clean cotton string rolling over the skin rather than lifting the skin off, i have minor redness for only an hour or so after the visit. can't say enough about the skill of shaping involved, and it always grows back in like a nicely trained little hedge.
at only $8 plus tip (went with cash, thanks for mentioning, julie-ann d.), i will definitely return.
