i go here to get my eyebrows, etc. threaded for such a decent price. eyebrows are only $8. eyebrows and upperlip $13. full face for $25.
the service is great. the women who do the threading always took their time with every visit. they make sure the job is done right at a slow pace. they're never in a hurry, even though there are three other ladies waiting for the same service.
they always do small talk which i love. i'm always in pain while being threaded, and talking to them seem to always ease the pain. last time i was there, they told me, "pain is beauty" and we had an in-depth conversation about how men don't have to do threading. lol. i love the atmosphere there. really great decor, and they have a big screen tv at the waiting lounge that always has a movie on. the workers are super friendly. i'd recommend this place to anyone for its threading service!
This place is great! The ladies are very nice and take their time with you. One even stayed after hours when I made the mistake of coming in so close to closing! I get the threading and my hair cuts done here and it's really affordable. The threading is so cheap! I definitely recommend this place to anyone wary of trying out a new salon. It will quickly become your only one.
threading is my favorite way of eyebrow hair removal/shaping. it's been tough living at least a hundred miles from a city that offers it, too. turning to yelp, i found vogue while staying in the l.a. area and decided to give them a go. very glad i did!
while living in chicago, i would go to a place where i'd take a number and wait with about 40-50 people in a small, hot, & stuffy room with flickering florescent lighting. threading can be worth that kind of fuss, though i had a completely different and wonderful experience at vogue.
calling ahead, they informed me that eyebrow threading could be walk-in (nice). still, i opted to visit mid-week rather than on a fri or sat, and there was no wait at all. i met with sanchi, who was filling in for someone who was out ill. sanchi was very skilled, focused, and works at vogue's other (del amo) location. she was also pleasant, warm and relaxed.
let's face it, whether it's tweezing, waxing, or threading, it all stings a little. it is never anything that would be categorized as unbearable. reclining in the studio chair, sanchi directed me as to how and where she wanted my skin held taut so she could breeze through her handy work. she had very little lag-time and before i knew it, with a quick dab of cooling aloe to finish, i was out of there less than 10 min. later.
having fair skin and light eyebrow hair, waxing always left an unnatural look as it would leave the area around my eyebrows shiny and irritated... for days. with threading and it's clean cotton string rolling over the skin rather than lifting the skin off, i have minor redness for only an hour or so after the visit. can't say enough about the skill of shaping involved, and it always grows back in like a nicely trained little hedge.
at only $8 plus tip (went with cash, thanks for mentioning, julie-ann d.), i will definitely return.
