Viva Burrito is great!

I haven't been there for awhile, but I used to always get a carne asada burrito, which is just beef & avocado, and then chips & salsa, which are actually more like a huge plate of nachos. They have cheese on them.

Drive through is open 24 hours, so that's good.

They have good breakfast burritos too.

Viva la e. coli! This place is rotten. As an alum of a certain nearby art school, I was dragged into this gastrological house of horrors more than once by so-called friends, and my viscera are still shooting me daggers for each visit there. I'm no snob when it comes to Mexican food (see my raving Taco John's reviews, lest ye doubt my humildad), but this place ranks as somewhere between 'gastly' and 'inedible'. Let's count the ways:

Located on the scenic intersection of Colfax and Pierce, the parking lot of 'the Veve' is shady, both literally and figuratively. Having eaten here after sundown, I have to say I felt frighteningly under-armed while walking back to my car at night. It's just not a spot where one sees the brighter side of Colfax (then again, where is?). When your primary market competition is the catty-corner cafeteria concoctions at Casa Bonita...and they emerge the victor...you've got problems.

The grub is rank, and sadly, not in the ironic, 'dive bars are in now!' way. I've honestly never had any food that was more solid than liquid, desirable than disposable or acceptable than receptacle from this place. It's really rank, to be blunt. The saving grace here are the breakfast burritos, which are comparable to the kind you can heat up at a 7-11 for a few quarters more. Not worth the war of attrition we'll be fighting on the commode afterward, captain! Abort mission, save yourself!

Finally, I feel obligated to mention that a certain amigo intimo of mine had his identity stolen not once but TWICE by workers at this glorified taco cart. Learn from my friend's mistake and get out while you can. Denver is a haven for worthwhile Mexican food, from 'cuisine' to 'eats', but a person would have to be de su mente to walk into Viva Burrito.

I've only been to this one once, it was the 1st time I actually went inside, big mistake.  But I've been to several of there other locations and as long as you stay in your car when ordering, your good to go.
