I've been to both Vito Pinis, the one in Belmar and the one in Lakewood. And both of them are 5 star worthy. Their stylists not only know how to cut hair, but more importantly, they know what will look good on you. More than a few times, the stylist has gently talked me out of a style that wouldn't work for me, and given me something similar that looked great. Every time I go they do something just a little different with my hair, that makes it fun and fresh. Their color services are great too.
The only drawback is that they are expensive (I paid $130 for a cut and color) and they annoyingly try to push $35 bottles of shampoo and conditioner on you. But they're really good, so I keep going back.
Very sad to say that after 5 years, I'm leaving Joyce - she has cut back her hours so much that it is impossible to get an appointment that is not one month out. Also, be aware that in leaving a voicemail for Vito Pini, you will not hear back for more than two business days. I guess I assumed someone checks the messages each morning and is designated to return calls at that time? Silly me.

I have only been to Vito Pini once for a bikini wax and I was totally unimpressed. The appointment-making process was easy. I found them online and walked there after work. Their website quoted one price for the service I requested, but was charged about $20 more and she expected a tip. The website has since been corrected but still -- pretty annoying.
As for the service itself, the waxing studio was clean but that's where the pleasantness ended. The biggest no-no in my book is that the technician didn't leave the room while I was getting undressed. She didn't act inappropriately but every other waxing studio, salon, and doctor's office I've been to, the person examining me/waxing me, had the courtesy of leaving the room.
The waxing took about an hour -- a LONG time to be having waxed and half-naked with a stranger. I say stick to Studio Urban Wax on Broadway. A much more pleasant experience for $45-60 that lasts for 15-20 minutes and professionalism is their priority. Oh, and they don't accept tips. And if they're booked, go to the old stand-by: Wax in the City either downtown or in DTC.

Doug's work has ben published in many professional trade and consumer magazines. As well as television appearances on the local television networks. He has traveled throughout Europe, Asia and the United States to train and share his expertise with his peers. His specialties are making-over people in need for an exciting change or a fresh seasonal change. He is an amazing colorist and hair cutter. Great Length Hair Extensions and Japanese Thermal Straighteners of some of his other specialties.
