This past weekend we drove up to the Franconia Notch area for the 2008 New Hampshire Highland Games at Loon Mountain. We arrived late Friday night and stopped at Vita Cafe to meet up with some friends.

Vita Cafe is a quaint little restaurant tucked in Lincoln center right near the town hall, on Main Street. The staff was wonderfully hospitable and really made me and my friend feel like we were at home. I got the feeling of going over my grand parents house. The food was beyond delicious. Chicken picatta was delectable and the home made cakes were heavenly.  The selection of international and domestic wine and beers at Vita Cafe is ideal for the connoisseur. We know it is a great place when they have Lindeman's Framboise!

If you're ever headed up to Franconia Notch or Loon Mountain, this is a must.

The fish soup was very good but it's half warm and half cold. I was disappointed but also liked the soup. Very strange feeling there. The food was also really good. I ordered a Moroccan Chicken. Very tasty, but too much spices/ tastes involved. They don't have all the wine they indicated on the menu. they mentioned their wine is supplied by the state. If state don't give them, then they can't sell. The waiter was super friendly. He seemed he really want impress the guests. He tried to find/ recommend 3 or 4 different wines to our neighbor even that guy don't like any of them.

If they have hot soup and wine I wanted next time, I will defiantly come again.

Vita Cafe and Wine Bar has become my Friday evening stop when I escape Boston for a weekend at Loon Mountain. The food is great, whether you just want a sandwich or an entree, and the wine and beer selection is marvelous (if looking for a glass of red I would highly recommend trying Don's Blend - inexpensive and quite good).

Both the owner and bartender are great and make one feel at home in this quaint gem in the White Mountains. I would definitely recommend.
