This museum is free. Who doesn't like a cultural outing that doesn't cost a thing?
It's not the largest art museum I've ever seen but, it is nice place to spend some time if its freezing or raining out. There weren't that many collections, but I'm assuming things will be different once they finish the renovations. They had some crazy collection of horse everything... sculptures paintings etc. I don't recommend that, but everything else was cool.
Museum's still under construction. Kind of a far walk from the parking lot to the museum.
Small museum with 2 floors of artwork but admission is free. (Except for special exhibits)

The VMFA is a midsize museum that has a great collection of art. It is a great place to spend time and browse. It has two levels and was still under construction. Security was visible and the museum was clean and well maintained. Enjoy your visit - I did.
I can't believe no one has written a review of the VMFA. This museum is one of Richmond's greatest institutions. They have a wonderful collection of American art, English Silver, and Faberge. My personal favorite is their collection of Greek urns.
The museum is currently undergoing a massive expansion, which should finish sometime in 2009. They added lots of free parking, making this one of the easiest and most inexpensive activities in the city. High recommended.
This is a must see and also free! Wide variety of art thru the ages and the largest display of art nouveu and Tiffany glass I've ever seen.
