It has a really nice and welcoming exterior, and the interior isn't really that bad but the display areas have no sense of direction but someone is always sitting around the corner to guide you. which gives you an idea on how weak the circulation is, plus the nature walk is nothing more than walking in someones backyard.
Definitely not worth the money, but is one of the few family-friendly places to go in VA Beach.
I grew up all my life in the Hampton Roads and my previous job was merely two minutes from this place and I visited this museum only TWICE. I had an amazing time at the museum looking at the huge fishes, the squids, and everything. I took the hundreds of beautiful pictures that I wanted to kill myself for lose all of them. I so am going there again when I am home and to take the pictures again. It is a great place to visit when there is absolutely nothing else to do in the Hampton roads... as usual.

I like this place. IMAX theater, lots of fish, sharks, turtles, etc. to see, as well as activities kids will like. I love the stingray tank (you can pet them) and watching the fish-feeding demonstrations. There's also a walk through the marsh area (on a wooden plank bridge thingy) that takes you to another viewing area with a bird sanctuary type place.

A great aquarium to visit if you're in the area as a tourist. You can walk through a large outdoor area, see tons of fish inside, and even touch a sting ray (on the back). We had a lot of fun here.
