Met a girlfriend for lunch at Violette - I'm temporarily a lady who lunches...in a few weeks I will be lady who works through lunch. So, I'm enjoying it while I can. :) The food was excellent. I had a chicken crepe smothered in a velvety mushroom sauce and the rice (of all things) was fantastic. It was so good that we were forced to get dessert - which is well worth the splurge. I had the bread pudding and my friend had some sort of fried crepe with rich chocolate ice cream on one side and delectable mousse on the other. WOW! We sat outside and it was shady enough that we didn't get hot in June (amazing). The service was not bad.

Violette is a neighborhood French restaurant with prompt, attentive service. It is easy to find and close to I-85. Ambiance is great for business lunch, or if you are single, a non-threatening first lunch date: no strolling accordionist to embarrass the two of you, and you can hear one another. Parking tends to fill up if you arrive after noon. I shoot for 11:45 a.m. and have no problems. Beware large company groups.
Dinners here are fun; we had great service and a terrific time at reasonable price in groups of five and ten people. Likewise, Violette is a dinner date destination: nice wines, romantic, but not overly "gushy."
Stay within the obvious bounds of French cooking and you will be fine.
My favorites are the Boeuf Bourginion, Gruyere Salad and the Chicken
Crepe. Patio is terrific, temperature permitting.

I came here for a friend's bday party and was looking forward to having some authentic French cuisine. I was pretty disappointed with how the evening went.
The only pros I can really give it are the excellent wine selections (of course) as well as really good appetizers.
However, we had a bit of trouble getting our food. We made reservations for 730pm and we weren't even asked if we wanted food for a while. The waitresses were not attentive and overall disappointing. We wound up getting our entrees at around 945, which is waaaaay too slow for service. I mean I know it's a French restaurant but that's just ridiculous, people have things to do. In addition, the food was not very good and a bit overpriced considering the quality. The restaurant has excellent atmosphere but I am definitely not a fan.

Reasonably priced French cuisine. The interior of this place exudes French country and the service was excellent. They have a vast array of French dishes, although very few vegetarian options. Several chicken options however. I ordered the Poulet l'Estragon. The chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned. They also have a nice house wine, at least I would recommend the Chardonnay. There is also a section in the back that can be set up as a party room for events. Very spacious.
This is a great first or second date place. A very conducive 'getting to know you' atmosphere. It's right off exit 91 on 85, so you can easily go to Regal Hollywood 24 and catch a movie afterwards.

Violette creates authentic French dishes with great service in a beautiful environment. It's in this cute little building, and they seated us in the "greenhouse" area, so that we felt we were surrounded in greenery and flowers. So pretty!
I had my favorite French dish, a bouillabaisse, rouille. The seafood assortment included fish, scallops, mussels, and shrimp with chunks of potatoes and bread simmered in saffron and pastis. The saffron broth was so good I was literally slurping it up. Yum.
Service was attentive, but not intrusive. Extremely professional and pleasant.
