Maki worked magic with our budget and created beautiful bouquets, bouts, altar arrangements, and olive branch draped candelabras for our Sebastiani Winery wedding in September. She was able to weave our mustard, ivory, copper, and bronze color palette into each piece in creative ways and used interesting elements like pods and succulents to create amazing texture and depth.
She was easy to work with, eager to please, and creative within our limited budget. She understood our vision right away and expanded upon the examples and inspiration images we provided to make the decor totally us. I'd recommend her to my friends without question and we're so thankful we found her! -

Maki was our wedding florist for our wedding in Glen Ellen (outside of Sonoma) a few weeks ago (August 24th). We were referred to Maki from another florist since she was not available for our day. We were so glad to work with Maki and amazed by her work! We created a list of flower needs for our wedding and I had some flowers in mind and then we let Maki suggest other flower ideas and then let her do her magic! The flowers turned out absolutely amazing!
Our wedding was also at a private residence on top of a Mountain so there were very windy and steep roads, but Maki was prepared and had all of our flowers strategically tied down in the van so they all arrived in perfect condition! I highly recommend working with Maki, even if planning a wedding in wine country from far away (like me!) -

Maki did a wonderful job with my wedding flowers! I wasn't really sure what I was looking for beyond a specific request for the grooms flowers and she really helped me figure out what I wanted. I ended up with a perfect bouquet (very modern - and it help with extremely well)! The grooms flowers were perfect - again very clean and modern and not fussy. And finally the flowers for the tables were really nice. Maki made two delivery trips for us, first to drop off the bridal flowers and later to go to the hotel and set up the flowers there. I had to do everything via email since I live out of state and it was really easy to do. If anyone is looking for wedding flowers in Sonoma/Napa I'd highly recommend Maki. I felt her prices were reasonable, her work was very beautiful and she is very professional and friendly.

Maki created a beautiful bouquet and unique bridesmaid hair flowers for my 7/3 wedding, and was a joy to work with! She listened to my broad visions for the day and I put 100% of my trust in her and it was totally worth it. She spoke on the phone with me several times throughout the planning process and was so sweet and patient. We love Maki!

Maki was the florist for our wedding this past weekend. She was such a pleasure to work with. She really listened to what my ideas were and worked hard to stay in my budget. Our arrangemetns, bouquets, corsages, and boutineers were beyond perfect. The boutineers were especially amazing, and were so unique. My wedding guests talked about them all night! I feel so lucky that she was our florist, and I look forward to working with her more for all other occasions as well! She did an amazing job!

We were married in Sonoma on May 1st and had Maki do our bouquets, boutineers & corsages. She truly works wonders and made me EXACTLY what I wanted...I couldn't have asked for more!
She used mint as a filler and it was PERFECT!! I couldn't stop smelling my bouquet ALL day!! I am so sad that I couldn't keep my bouquet (we live in NJ but since our wedding was in CA, I had to leave it!!).
The boutineers were the cutest things EVER too!!!
I am so lucky that we found Maki...she is truly a floral artist! -

Maki is fantastic!! She did all of the flower arrangements and bouquets for my rehearsal dinner and wedding in Sonoma over a year ago and I couldn't have been happier. I wanted a lot of color so she worked with me on choosing flowers I liked and then came up with absolutely gorgeous and unique arrangements.
I totally agree with mizcat c.'s review that Maki is flexible, willing to work within budgets, and extremely helpful in coming up with creative solutions. She is also reliable, organized and great about getting back to you. I loved working with her. If you need a florist for your wedding or any other event, I would highly recommend her. -

I was at another wedding recently where Maki did the flowers and I was so excited about her work that I decided to write an update. All the event's floral arrangements were totally unique, reflecting the personalities of the bride and groom and their families.

Maki was our wedding florist on 9/9/11. The arrangements she created were so beautiful that they looked like a piece of art. She incorporated them well with our wedding theme and colors. I especially loved my bouquet which had these black-ish colored flowers that smelled like chocolate. Amazing! Maki was so easy to work with throughout the process and works with your budget. The best florist in wine country!

I used Maki for my wedding after seeing her beautiful work the summer before at another wedding! I was not let down at all! The flowers were gorgeous and just what I wanted. The week before the wedding she wrote and asked me if we could use a type of flower that was seasonal but not in our initial plan. At first I was afraid it would look too "bridal" and I like the airy simple look. I told her to go ahead and do what she thought would look good and I am so glad I did. WHen I saw the tables I was so glad I let her do what she wanted. We alternated the table settings, half the original and half the new additions, and i actually like the new ones best. They made the tables stand out more and I was so glad I let her use her better judgement.

Maki is, in one word, fantastic. From the beginning she was polite, patient and open to our ideas without pushing any traditional wedding flower ideas or personal preferences on us.
We made several changes in the months before the wedding, and her response was always, "Its your day, do whatever you want." Most impressive for us, she never encouraged us to do any more or any less than we wanted to, and was willing to work within our budget. For instance, we wanted to maintain the simple and understated look of the Cornerstone ceremony site; no flowers down the aisle, none on the chairs and certainly no trellis to stand under. She made some wonderful suggestions, but never pushed us to do anything we didn't want to.
As a landscape architect I have some pretty strong opinions about certain flowers, and she worked wonders with the flowers we really wanted to incorporate. My only complaint is that we specifically stated a contemporary style, and the bridal bouquets were wrapped so that there was this overflowing bow sticking out from underneath the flowers and excess ribbon trailing down, which was too frou-frou for our taste and I did not like it at all. -

All I can say is - I truly LOVED my wedding flowers!! I still receive compliments on them a month after my wedding. Maki exceeded our expectations. She is very easy to work with , detailed, artistic and professional.
During the wedding planning process, I bombarded her with floral arrangement ideas and a million questions. She was very patient with me and answered all my questions and concerns. We had twigs wrapped around flower vases for our centerpieces and Maki stranded each individual twig together to create a wrap for the vase. She had to make at least 17 of these! On top of that, the flower arrangement was a gorgeous array of our chosen colors. Our guests loved looking at them! My bouquet was breathtaking, I never wanted to put it down. That's how much I loved it : ) If you choose Maki as your wedding florist, you're in great hands. -

I just got married last weekend at BR Cohn winery in Sonoma, CA, and Maki's flowers were absolutely amazing. She came to our first meeting with tons of wonderful ideas and pictures and together we created a general plan for my bouquets, boutineers and center pieces, but her actual creations were so much more than i could have imagined! Everything was absolutely amazing and she put up with my Mom's very particular requirements and questions.
I can tell she took great time and care to create my flowers, using every variation of blue hydrangea she could find! I could not have imagined more beautiful flowers, and i can not thank Maki enough for all her hard work.
My bridal bouquet was so gorgeous that rather than toss it at the end of the night, i gave it to my mom as a special thank you.

Maki is amazing. Her floral designs are truly artistic and one of a kind. She did my bridal bouquet, ceremony centerpieces (ikebana) flower girl bouquets, and boutonierres and they were fantastic (not your typical bouquets w/standard flowers). She's also super flexible and willing to work within budgets (and coming up with creative solutions if you're over budget) and general ideas. I loved her work and really enjoyed working with her!

My wedding was back in May at a winery in Sonoma. I found Maki through a Yelp review and I feel so lucky to have found her!!! We met in person and I brought some pictures of flowers I liked and an idea of my wedding colors. She beautifully interpreted what I was looking for - matching the style I wanted for my wedding as well as the setting for our ceremony and reception. I highly recommend Maki, and she is so great to work with. Readily responsive by email also. Some pics from my wedding are attached!

Maki was our florist for our August wedding in Sonoma, and I just can't say enough good things about her. From our first conversation, she was sweet, helpful, flexible, accommodating and full of creative suggestions. Because we were planning our wedding from across the country, we didn't have much opportunity to meet in person, but we felt so confident that she'd do a great job, and she certainly met and exceeded our expectations. The flowers were gorgeous-- we'd asked for a mix local, seasonal flowers, and what she gave us was just lovely. I would also like to add that we were working on a fairly modest budget, and Maki was completely unfazed by this-- she assured us that we could have beautiful flowers, centerpieces, etc. within our budget and never pressured us to spend more than we could afford. I will definitely remember her for all of my Sonoma floral needs, and recommend her to anyone looking for a fabulous florist in the area.

Maki is very talented and very nice and super sweet. I enjoyed working with her very much. The highlights of the wedding was definitely the bridal bouquet that she created and was noted in many of our pictures. I appreciated that she was able to work within our budget and wasn't upset that I kept changing my mind about the type of flowers I wanted.
The pictures turned out fantastic and the centerpieces were enjoyed by our guests due to its unique flowers. They lasted even after we came back from our honeymoon. Thank you Maki! :) -

I got married in August and Maki did our bridal bouquet and groom's boutonniere. My bridal bouquet was absolutely stunning! The flowers were beautiful bright pink roses, calla lilies and orchids! The design was unique ad beautiful!! Everyone who attended the wedding couldn't help but gush over my bouquet!!! I loved it!!! Our boutonniere was a purple orchid, and while it was beautiful, the flower looked really sad and wilted by about 1 hour into the wedding festivities. It was a very hot day in Sonoma. Maki did an excellent job with my bouquet and I definitely recommend her work!

Update: With the wedding behind us I had to write and say how beautiful the flowers were. Maki did a fantastic job. The tables looked so beautiful, as did the bouquets and boutonnieres. She used seasonal flowers with vines twisted amongst them. It was perfect for her outdoor venue in Sonoma Calif. Thank you Maki for your beautiful and reasonable artistry.

I have hired Maki to do the flowers for my wedding in July 2010. My best friends and I used to have a floral business so it was hard to outsource this to someone else, but since I live in Chicago and am getting married in California, I didn't want to have to worry about doing arrangements the morning of my own wedding. Now let me clarify - I haven't seen the flowers Maki is doing for me - But I am giving her a great review because of how understanding, creative and detail oriented she is. I LOVE flowers. That also means I am picky when it comes to the ones that will be a part of my wedding. I have several flowers that are meaningful to me (ie: I love hydrangeas because my future husband heard me say I loved them and he planted them in front of the house for me) and I wanted them to really be a part of the day. Admittedly, I am a little crazy about it - And Maki has been understanding, patient and really has gone above and beyond in creating my vision every step of the day. More importantly, she has worked really hard to stay within my budget. I can rest easy knowing that my flowers are going to be stunning on our big day. Thanks Maki!!! Can't wait to see the work (and of course I will update afterward with pictures)! :)

We had a very small intimate wedding in Napa this past summer and we had Maki do the floral arrangements for the church and my bouquet. They were EXACTLY what we wanted and gorgeous none-the-less. She has the best personality and is so much fun to work with. I would recommend her to anyone.

I actually joined Yelp just so I could review Maki. She created the most stunning floral masterpieces for my wedding, surpassing even my mother-in-law's sky-high expectations :). We were demanding clients, asking for individual centerpieces for each of our 16 tables, in addition to extensive floral arrangements for our ceremony and cocktail reception. She knocked it out of the park, creating true works of art that fit within our budget. Maki was a crucial part of making our day beautiful beyond words. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Maki did our flowers for our wedding last weekend at Brix in Napa. We had done our own lanterns for centerpieces and just needed bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres and baskets for the flowers girls and everything was just beautiful! We never actually met in person, just communicated over email and I had sent a couple of photos and when I got the the venue and saw the bouquets I was beyond pleased!! I would highly recommend Maki to every bride! Her flowers are gorgeous and she is affordable!

Maki made the bouquets and boutonnieres for our wedding this past June. I was planning the wedding from across the country so Maki and I communicated mainly via e-mail. I sent her some inspiration photos and my preference for seasonal flowers and she ran with it. The results were stunning and more perfect for the venue/my dress etc than I ever could have dreamed up myself. I highly recommend Maki. She is reasonably priced, easy to work with and does amazing work.

My wedding in Sonoma was absolutely beautiful largely in part because of the wonderful flowers that Maki made. Maki is super friendly and smart. She met with me well in advance, asked me a number of questions, (e.g. wedding colors, number in bridal party, ceremony and reception specific) she was able to take my guidance and execute according to my wishes to the "T". Maki made the most beautiful ikebana arrangement for our sweetheart table, gorgeous orchid flower balls and greenery for the backing of our chivalry chairs. She also made beautiful bridal bouquets and boutinerres and coursages. She's able to handle multiple changes leading up to the event, in a stress-free fashion. Plus she only does one wedding per weekend, to truly devote all of her attention and effort to your special day. I was blown away by my reception table centerpieces. I told Maki what flowers that I liked, provided her with images of arrangements that I liked and she truly blew me away with what she came up with. She has great artistic vision and if you provide her with a visual as to the colors and layout of your guest tables, she knows what will look best.
I'm so happy to have found Maki! My pictures turned out wonderful and I can't thank her enough for all of the hard work and effort put into both our ceremony and reception. Absolutely beautiful work!

I went to two different weddings where Maki did the flowers and I was so impressed with her work that I decided to actually write a review. Each of the wedding's floral arrangements were totally different, reflecting the unique personalities of each bride and groom. At one wedding the flowers were very modern, and had a distinctively ikebana feel to them. At the other wedding they were much more traditional, yet had modern flair to them. Both were spectacular. At my next large scale event, I would definitely ask Maki to do the flowers.

Maki did a fabulous job with my wedding flowers. We were having a cross cultural wedding with an Asian inspired theme. I found Maki web browsing as she specializes in Ikebana, among other styles. I was impressed by her portfolio and knew I wanted to hire her. She was flexible in helping me keep to my budget and seemed to understand the vision that I had. I was more than impressed by her artistic creations. My bouquet was beautiful and the ceremony and table decorations were stunningly artistic yet simple and affordable. I could not have been happier with my selection of hiring Maki! She is fabulous!
