We had a good time during our stay here, but we missed the personal attention you get staying somewhere like our favorite: Inn on First Street.

Vintage inn was perfectly nice. We worked with Travis from Napa Valley Reservations and he got us a great deal. Unfortunately they were out of king beds but we were able to get a room with two queens. I liked the idea we could bring our dog, though this time we decided she should stay with her aunt.  I had read that the downstairs rooms hear everything upstairs but I did not find this to be true. It was nice a quiet.

Our room was clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfy. It was great having a fireplace on a cold morning, and we loved the fun additions like the window seat/bench and the giant whirlpool tub and l'occitane toiletries.

The pool was small but refreshing and they have an awesome set up of lounge chairs and shaded day beds. You can enjoy wine poolside.

The staff was friendly but definitely not above and beyond, my husband had ordered flowers for our room prior to our arrival and he found it tricky to coordinate with them since they couldn't find the reservation in their system and kept transferring him to their sister hotel.

One of the highlights was breakfast. They had a waffle station and and omelet station in addition to tons of local fruit and pastries.

Proximity wise, the Vintage Inn is in a great location. You can walk across the street to Bouchon or Bottega and there are tons of local wineries within walking distance. If you are looking to stay in Yountville, check it out!

I loved this property.  The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.  The breakfast spread was lovely, as mornings are rushed and this was very convenient. I would love to give this property 5 stars, however, I wouldn't recommend staying in one of the lower level rooms, as the people above us were very loud.  You could hear them getting up all night long.  Very loud room.  Too bad for such a great property.

Great service, nice amenites, great breakfast, always helpful. The only thing is I am allergic to animals and they don't tell you whether your in a room that had animals or not. Also, they must have sprayed a can of orange oust in the room. It took awhile to air out, it was like a bathroom. It does need some updating and there are spiders on the ceiling. We had an upstairs room. Overall everything was great! Beautiful property.

Beautiful property - it's a little corporate sometimes (ex: walking from the parking lot to the room you don't really get the cutesy napa feel, but the courtyard decor is nice w/ overturned pottery and streams) but I had a great stay here.  The beds are AMAZING! I love when hotels use Frette sheets and Vintage Inn is all about that.  Big wide, high beds covered with soft linens and blankets and pillows. Sigh :)

The bathrooms are really spacious and new-feeling (the rooms are good sized as well but def have more of a "vintage" ambiance, and there may have been a fireplace but I'm not sure bc it was too warm to want a fire).  Staff, concierge, and housekeeping are super friendly and helpful as well.  Tea and cookies are usually in the lobby too :)

Bonus bottle of welcome wine too.  It's definitely a pricey kind of place ($300/night) but the bed linens make me rank this property over Napa Valley Lodge (but I can't really say bad things about NVL either).

The hubster and I stayed at this place for the first time in 2005 for a one-night weekend getaway. He heard about it from a colleague, but I was hesitant because the rates were pretty steep. I am so glad he called the hotel anyway because turns out the rates are lower by almost half in the off season. We were both pleasantly surprised by how charming this place was.

We booked an outer perimeter downstairs room (the least expensive), but the room was huge, had high ceilings, a lovely daybed by the window, a free bottle of wine, and my favorite- a large bathroom with a sunken tub.

Fast forward four years later.

We booked the same lower rate two weeks before our stay. They let us know that they guarantee your room would be ready by 4pm, but we are welcome to come anytime during the day to check if it is ready before then. We got there at 1pm, and not only was our room ready, they upgraded us to an upstairs suite right above the lovely fountain in the garden for free.

The room wasn't necessarily bigger than the room we had four years ago, but it was just as lovely and had a separate dining room area. We took advantage of the "tea time" they offer between 3pm and 5pm. The hotel serves coffee, tea, cookies, and other pastries. We decided to take it back to our suite to enjoy. After all, we had a dining room!

The weather wasn't great -it rained both days (we checked in on a Sunday and stayed one night), but it didn't matter because this hotel is perfect for indoor weather. We put on the fireplace and just chilled out.

Breakfast is lovely too. It is served from 7am to 10am. They have a pretty nice spread -fruits, breads, cheeses, muffins, potatoes, corned beef hash (or other breakfast meats depending on the menu that day), juices, teas, coffee, and an egg station where you can have omelettes made to order. Did I mention they have champagne, which made it so easy for me to have my newfound love of mimosas? They do!

The service was impeccable -from the front desk staff to the maids to the guy at the egg station who made my yummy omelette.  They were all so kind.  They offered their services for anything we needed, and front desk staff even made our dinner reservations for us at Bistro Don Giovanni.

It is worth staying here.  I can't speak for the folks who pay full price here during peak season, but I love that we got all the service and amenities for a much lower cost during the off season.  Love it here! Very relaxing!

The luxurious bed & breakfast, located between the French Laundry and Bouchon, fits perfectly in the picturesque town.  Within the Vintage Inn are blooming flowers throughout, beautiful running water fountain, and flowing serene water walkway.  The pool and jacuzzi tub are open all hours.  Comfortable lounge chairs with fresh towels and iced water are offered for a little sunbathing.  Breakfast with champagne and high tea are served daily.  The staff is professional and helpful.

Our romantic guestroom in the interior courtyard had vaulted beamed ceiling, fireplace, spa bathtub, L'Occitane products, a daybed by the windows, and a private balcony that looked out to the water fountain in the beautiful garden.

The Vintage Inn is the perfect place for a romantic getaway.

From the photos and reviews, I had expected something very luxurious but this is not to be.

We got an upstairs King with a private deck that is located at the very end of the inn, which face a highway of some sort with a lot of traffic.  Upon entering, I was not impressed and even a bit disappointed.  It's basically a regular room with a cathedral ceiling and maybe better beddings.  Luckily, the bathroom was very spacious and the extra large sunken jetted tub saves the day.

Some amenities worth noting to help justify the price ($330) are L'Occitane bath items, Nespresso machine w/ espresso, a bottle of Beringer Founder Estate 2006 Chardonnay, afternoon tea (we missed it so can't report on it) and a champagne breakfast buffet (it's a very impressive spread - see details below).  The inn does allow pets and I wonder if I'm allergic to them as I felt itchy and started breaking out but my hubby was ok.

The stay in general was ok but sleep was tough with the noise from the nearby highway, this even after all the windows and shutters are closed...this means we heard the motorcycles revving by, the garbage pickup early in the morning.

The champagne breakfast buffet is a very nice spread:  a cook to order omelet station (of course, you can get scrambled, over easy...etc.)
drinks:  water, juices (orange, apple, grapefruit, tomato), milk (whole and lowfat), Mumm champagne, coffee, tea, hot oatmeal with sides of cinnamon and golden raisin, 4 types of bread, baskets and baskets of danishes, mini croissants, muffins, plates of cheese, watermelon & beet salad, egg salad, fruit platter with blueberries, boyenberries, raspberries, strawberries, pineapple, grapes & melon, hot items:  country potatoes, choice of chorizo and vegetarian breakfast burrito, bread pudding, ham...etc.

Service was friendly and we were able to check in early.  Good location as everything is within walking distance.

Romantic getaway only an hour from SF. The room is spacious with a fireplace and large two person spa/tub. A excellent  breakfast is include in the price of the room. Some of the best restaurants in the area  like MIchael Chiarello's Bottega   are within walking distance. The only thing needing upgrading in the rooms are flat screens with HD.

There are so many things that have been said about this inn that are true and amazing, including the fact that it is a stone's throw from the french laundry and you can literally stumble home without much chance of passing out from overindulgence that might accompany a walk of longer than, say, 1 block.  However, in my mind the true highlight of this hotel, besides the pool which we will get to, is the service.

The service at this hotel is impeccable.  It is the type of service that puts other hotels to shame.  From the moment that you walk into the Vintage Inn people are asking you how they can help you.  The front desk staff, the concierge, the room service woman on the phone, they are all extremely accomodating.  An especially nice touch I found was the chilled champagne that was brought to our room 20 minutes to sunset.

Also a major bonus at this hotel, the breakfast.  It is, quite literally, a breakfast of champions.  The hotel furnishes, from 8 am to 11 am, a full on, amazing breakfast with any starch you could ever want, freshly made waffles, omlettes, champagne, freshly squeezed juice, bacon, sausage, brie, beet and watermelon salad, the list goes on.  The breakfast alone is worth the price of this hotel which is quite reasonable given the service and the accomodations.

The rooms aren't over the top fancy, but the beds and linens are really comfortable and soft.  The bathtub with jets is also particularly enjoyable, especially if you are in hour three of the come down off of a lunch at the French Laundry and you want to shower but are too fatigued, enter bath with jets.  Le sigh .

Finally, the hotel pool must be a hidden gem because my sister and I were there at ever free moment and there were always chaise lounges available with neat little rolled towels.  Fresh lemonate and iced tea were available, as well as bottles of water for guests.  The pool was heated, but not too much and provided a perfectly cooling experience.  We long overstayed our welcome here, laying by the pool well into Sunday afternoon.  The front desk staff was quite happy to watch our boxes of wine as well so they didn't turn in the car and afternoon heat.  Really?!

This place is a gem.

Stayed here over the weekend in one of the stand alone cottages. I give this place only 3.5 stars since I would have expected more for the price I paid. (If you have a AAA card, you get a small discount). However, the location is perfect, right across from Bouchon. I think the website's photos are slightly deceiving. With the camera angles this place looked amazing & I was a little disappointed upon arrival.

We found 3 spiders in our room (I hate spiders)! And the pool although heated, was not very warm (but it is open 24 hours). The AC was an old unit & also slightly noisy. However, bathroom was spacious & the beds were comfortable.

The breakfast in the morning was great!!! Omelets, watermelon & beet salad, mimosas, fruit, & cheese.... & more.

Ahhh, Sentimental Me, my hubby and I stay here whenever we do the Napa Valley, (which is never enough).  We love the location, strolls after dinner in this neighborhood are nice, good for walking off all the wine and wonderful food this region has to offer.  It is a bit pricey but well worth it in my opinion.  Nice Champagne breakfast brunch in the lobby, and always wonderfully decorated with seasonal stuff.  Last time we were there it was fall, so there were lots of pumpkins and beautiful gourds, sunflowers and fall foliage.

Fireplaces, shutters, L'Occitane products, turn down service.
Rooms could use some updating, but still a favorite!
I Love it, can't wait to go back!

I really really wish I could give Vintage Inn 5 stars, however I'm going to go with 4.  Vintage did nothing but cater to all of my wants and wishes, but I have to give it a B+ for one reason... the rooms need to be updated, and the mattress was a bit worn.  Having that out of the way... here are all of the many wonderful things about Vintage Inn:

Location:  Yountville is the best place to stay.  There are several tasting rooms in town and the MOST AMAZING restaurants you will ever eat at, all within walking distance.  Not to mention the gorgeous views of the hills in the background, hot-air balloons taking off, even the beautiful rainbows that appeared after the rain.  Wow.  After a day of wine tasting, it was so great to return to this quaintly-luxurious town to continue the fun, and not worry about drinking and driving.

Attention to Detail:  Even at 7am, the fireplace was going for breakfast.  The breakfast spread is AMAZING!  It is not anywhere near a continental breakfast, it is a full, hot, gormet breakfast spread!  Complete with iced Mumm Napa Sparkling Wine for Mimosas!  There is even a chef, making omlettes to order!  The pool is heated, the hot tub is HOT, the water dispencer next to the hot tub was always full, iced, and had lemon slices in it.  The room had a complimentary bottle of wine, an umbrella, a log for the fire place, an espresso machine, a small patio, and the sheets and comforter were very good.

FYI... the Vintage Inn is a sister property of the Villagio.  I read somewhere that the Vintage was built in 1985 and the Villagio was built in 1998.

I just wish I could give it 5 stars.  If the rooms get a little facelift (not the bathrooms, they are fine), some new furniture and better mattresses... I will up the score!  I will definitely consider staying there again, especially for the deal I got on travelocity.

Top on my list for service. I threw a party for a friend during a four day visit.  Prior to our arrival, I called to have a cake made and put into the room. The presentation was well done. Imagine a cake on a little table with breathtaking details that someone took the time to add.

I've been to Vintage Inn a number of times and am left with the feeling that I can trust the people here with details.

The rooms feel private and secluded, and my favorite part is you can park the car and walk to dinner each night. This is a place I would go back to over and over. I suggest the Inn for events and romantic weekends away.

It would be easy to write off the Vintage Inn as just one of many boutique hotels in spa hot spot Yountville. It would also be a shame if you did just that! This place is way cooler than the poshy pack it competes with! I can't speak to the rooms or amenities as I've never stayed there but, I've enjoyed the bar scene in the lobby. We stop in on our way to Yountville's Festival of Lights each year. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the people who filter in and out of the lobby are fun and they're willing to socialize like they're in a room full of old friends. One year, the concierge even helped us secure a table in nearby packed establishment. The place is even dog friendly! During Happy Hour, guests are treated to scrumptious treats like croissants, biscotti, pastry filled with goat cheese and more. Stop in with your two and four-legged friends and make some new friends today!

I really want to give the Vintage Inn a five star review for the following reasons:

* The rooms are nice and big and have fireplaces and huge whirlpool bathtubs.  Mine even came with a free bottle of wine.

* Every day there is an afternoon tea with delicious scones, tarts and tea sandwiches some of which I suspect come from Bouchon Bakery.

* The continental breakfast is really good - unlimited champagne, delicious pastries, eggs, bagels, meats, fruit, fresh OJ...

* The location is great - you can walk right to Bouchon or French Laundry (across the street) and getting to wineries is a snap.

* There is a heated pool and hot tub open year round, 24 hours a day.

* Free wireless.

* Dogs are allowed.

But alas, the noise!  We got a "vineyard view room," slightly cheaper than the garden view room.  They should just ask you if you want a noisy room or not - it sounds like we're staying at a Super-8 Motel off of I-80!

Also, we're on the ground floor (I think all dogs rooms are) and the people above us sound like elephants when they walk across their room - our ceiling/their floor is exceptionally creaky.  Next time I stay here I'm opting for a garden view room, hopefully upstairs.

We usually stay at Villagio their sister property next door and I was very pleasantly surprised with the Vintage Inn. It was similar enough to Villagio to feel familiar and have same high quality service, room, and amenities. But, also different enough to be a new, unique experience.

Still walking distance to the best restaurants in town. Good special rates.

This hotel is awesome for a lot of reasons:
1) walking distance, in heels and drunk, to and from French Laundry
2) large rooms with fireplaces, patios, seating areas, wine, etc
3) private so that you don't really run into people
4) quiet
5) free stuff like afternoon tea and champagne
6) super friendly staff
7) the biggest and BEST breakfast buffet I've ever had for FREE that included a belgian waffle station, omlet station, amazing fruit, breads, coffee, juices, everything under the sun, and newspapers!
8) some good bathroom stuff like L'occitane shampoos/lotions, etc and a variety of bath salts

There were only two drawbacks:
1) the rooms were super outdated and a little festy.
2) the rooms smelled like chlorine to me but the pool was on the complete opposite end of the property.

It ain't cheap here. You'd expect a Four Seasons or St Regis for the price. At first, I was a little shocked at what I saw for the price. But by the time I left, I felt like I got a great deal.

LOVED IT!  Our room was spacious and had a great bathroom complete with L'Occitane products.  I'm all about nice bathrooms in hotels.  The bedroom can be fantastic, but if the bathroom sucks - forget about it.

Anyway, the bed was super comfy, and as a bonus they do turndown service.  It's one of those little luxuries that separates a good hotel from a great one, ya know?  Their complimentary breakfast buffet is fabulous!  This is not your anemic selection of muffins and waffles...you can really stuff yourself on some terrific food for free (well, I'm sure it's built into the room prices, but you know what I mean).  It's the perfect way to prep your stomach for a day of wine tasting.

My boyfriend and I spent a wonderful romantic get away here.  Very quiet, awesome breakfast buffet, nice location, and excellent service.  The grounds are beautiful and its easy to get swept away.....  The rooms are spacious, with all amentities provided, jacuzzi baths, and fireplaces in the rooms.  It doesn't ooze pretentiousness, but it works well.  Great location for everything around you in Yountville.

I stayed here for one night, and let me start by saying I didn't want to leave.  The hotel is so nice, oh wait its a bed and breakfast but it felt like a small relaxed hotel.  I think the bed and breakfast part is because they do a huge breakfast in the morning, unfortunately I was to hungover to make it out to actually see the breakfast, but from what was brought to my room, I am assuming they had quit a few breakfast entrees.
The rooms are amazing, very large, with HUGE bathrooms.  And a huge shower and bath tub.  However, I think my favorite part about the hotel had to be the pool.  I can't quit put my finger on why because it was a pretty plain simple pool, it was just really relaxing and nice to hangout at the pool and have someone take drink orders all afternoon.  Maybe next time I will remember to bring my swim suit , so I can actually go into the pool.  They had lots of comfy lounge chairs and even these large bed cabana things that I think would be perfect place to lay out and drink wine if you were doing a girls weekend thing.
The hotel is also within walking distance to a few restaurants, Ad Hoc, for one, and a few wineries.  I would def. stay here again.

A bit expensive, but beautifully appointed rooms with spacious spa tubs, fireplace for that romantic evening, and nice bottle of wine.  Within easy walking distance to the French Laundry, Bouchon, Bistro Jeanty.  A very short car ride to Domaine Chandon.

Look at the Vintage Inn website for special offers to get a better deal on the room.

I have stayed at Vintage Inn twice this past year...  I love this hotel!!!
What a great place!  Great blend of B&B Charm and luxury hotel.  The rooms are just darling... Fire place, ceiling fan, patio looking out the pool, his and her sink.  Best of all great big jacuzzi bath tub for two.  The ground is very beautiful and all the staff are very friendly.  You get a bottle of complimentary wine, which is nice.  Plus Champagne breakfast...  I usually don't like eating at a buffet, but their spread is awesome!  They have a cook to order omelet bar and waffle bar.  Their waffles are to DIE for!!!   The other benefit of staying her is you can walk to near by places... We've had dinner over at Buchon and if you plan well it's a short walk to the world famous French Laundry.  Vintage Inn is centrally located and you are close to many wineries and restaurants.

Great beds. DO NOT get a room downstairs. All I heard all morning starting at 6 AM were the people walking and flushing the toilets upstairs. I really was looking forward to sleeping in some being away from my kids for the weekend. But it never happened. Even the housekeepers were noisy in the mornings. Just a noisy place. Everything else was great. But being sleep deprived, thats what was important to me.

Vintage is cool and the service is great.  I have been to the Vintage a few times and always thought the basque bartender and the swedish girl at the front desk were super cool.  The Vintage aims to please and succeeds.  The rooms are quite nice and fully functional but possibly in need of some renovation.  Nevertheless, Vintage is a great place and worth checking out, no doubt.  Cheers.

great centrally located place in yountville -- walking distance to fine dining (french laundry, bouchon, ad hoc, bistro jeanty and the bouchon bakery), right off hwy 29, close driving distance to wineries along hwy 29 & the silverado trail.

nice, spacious room w/ french country style on the 2nd floor with high-vaulted ceiling, fire place with duraflame logs and a nice patio (overlooks a  nice little vineyard, hills and mountains, but also from where we were at  -- it was overlooking the parking lot & hwy 29).

thanks again yelp for helping me find this place -- the selling points are:   most definitely the huge jacuzzi sunken bath tub for two & the champagne breakfast buffet (bummed they didn't have the omelet or waffle stations -- perhaps they have that during their summer/fall peak season) .  great spread especially for a day of wine tasting -- scrambled eggs, potatoes, bagels, croissants, pastries, muffins, fruit tart, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, fresh cut fruits, & whole fruits, coffee, tea, oj, grapefruit juice, apple juice & mumm's champagne.   afternoon tea & cookies from 3pm - 5pm -- which included coffee, tea, scones, biscotti, cookies, mini tartlets (brandied chocolate & passion fruit), little cream puffs w/ blue cheese & pecan or herbed cheese & mini sandwiches (croissants w/ egg salad or chicken curry salad sandwich).

added nice touches -- complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival,   robes, l'occitane products. friendly staff -- the concierge, christine richardson, was so helpful with setting up our wine tasting itinerary for the next day.

There are lots of great things about the Vintage Inn:

1) Dog friendly - Sophie enjoyed her very first hotel stay here. She got a goodie bag on arrival with some treats and a few poop bags. There is a wonderful patio for us to enjoy breakfast and tea at with her. ($40 fee applies)
2) Complimentary champagne breakfast - all you can drink champagne (Mumm's) plus lots of really good food. Several hot items like scrambles, oatmeal and potatoes, cold items such as cold cuts, cheese and egg salad, plus the standard cereals, fruits, pastries and drinks.
3) Complimentary afternoon tea - really delicious mini muffins (I had like 5 of them and Sophie had at least 2!) and scones with all the fixings, an assortment of cookies and coffee and tea.
4) Complimentary bottle of wine - also got a bottle of champagne since we got the "Romance Package".
5) Great service - the staff is very friendly. Checking in and out was a breeze.
6) Convenient location - walking distance of nice shops in Vintage 1870 as well as some of the best restaurants around (French Laundry, Bouchon, Ad Hoc, etc.). Centrally located between Napa and St. Helena.
7) Nice rooms - we got one on the ground floor and our room opens up to a small, semi-private patio. The room is spacious as is the bathroom. Love the big soaking tub with jets. The fireplace is nice for cold nights.

The only downside is that it's pricey. Even for mid-week, it cost $300 for one night. It's not as bad if you figure in all the complimentary stuff you get. If we do take Sophie on an overnight trip in the area again, I will not hesitate coming back here.

I heart Vintage Inn! My bf and I spend our memorable one year anniversary up in this beautiful piece of heaven. From the water fountains, manicured lawns and cute flower beds, Vintage Inn will always have a piece of my heart!  Service was impeccable. I remember that night was cold, and we slept in front of the fireplace. I called the front desk every time we ran out of wood and they would promptly bring us 2 new logs. We will be sure to stay here again when the chance arise.

This is the best place to stay in Yountville. This past weekend was our 5th trip there in the last year, so I guess you can say we really dig it.  There are so many great things about this place.  Let's see. First thing that pops into my mind- the bathtub. One of the best I've been in.  Heavenly. Big enough for two (we're both pretty tall). The rooms are great, make sure to get an upstairs with a deck. Fireplace, awesome beds, great products too. Everything you could want they have. I have stayed at Villagio (same owner, same place- just a couple blocks down) and it just isn't as nice- most people think they are the same, they are not. I guess because it's older.  I will say, the pool is better at Villagio, and they have more flowers, but whatever! Villagio is always so crowded.  I always feel like we are the only people staying at Vintage. Then there's the brunch. It's awesome. I love the waffle station. They are excellent. More whipped cream please! Don't get me wrong it's not like the Ritz brunch, but it's a perfect way to start the day- especially if you are wine tasting bound.  Yes, they have all you can drink champagne, but I try to avoid drinking before 9:00 a.m.  Also, room service stops at 9 p.m., but they are happy to go pick up Bouchon, Hurleys, or Jeanty for you.  Works for ME! For those of you with doggies, you can bring them too.  I can't wait to go back.
