One of the reasons I love Seatac so much... and one of the only things that can actually convince me to leave my house with a reasonable amount of time before my flight, as I'm often a last minute plane hopper. I love the selection of wines and often enjoy a flight before my flight. :)  There are some great local wines as well as selections from around the world.

Possibly even better than the opportunity to sit down with a nice glass of wine is the opportunity to enjoy their truffle mac and cheese... Mmmm, truffle mac and cheese.  There have been times when I've been sick and not drinking and have just come in for that delicious dish. It's not a full meal and it's a bit pricey, but it's totally worth it. Mmmm....

So, thanks, Vino Volo, for being the host of my pre-flight ritual every time I fly.  I appreciate your yummy wine selection, delectable mac and cheese, and the relaxed, classy atmosphere you provide in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the airport.

I travel a lot between Seattle and Denver and this is my go to spot to escape the clamor of the airport.

A nice Oregon Pinot Noir, a book and  cheese plate can make the hour or so wait pleasurable. I always get good prompt service.

Relaxing environment, WiFi & helpful staff. Try a flight of 3 wines and discover a new favorite.

This place is OK. First of all, I travel frequently to Seattle and this place is ALWAYS under staffed and slow. Also, they overcharge for glasses of wine. I paid $15 for a SMALL glass of wine and the bottle is only $39. Rip off.

Cozy wine bar conveniently located immediately next to Central Terminal (towards Concourse B) - offering several reasonable flights and selections by the glass. Staff is friendly and helpful. Plenty of seating and tables for 2. Has a limited selection of bar snacks.

Who in their right mind would give this place 4 stars? The service is abysmal, a negative 10 and that's generous. The server took 10 mins to even acknowledge we were sharing space with him. I watched other people come in, peer hopefully back to where he was dusting bottles, then leave- without so much as a nod of acknowledgment. 12 dollar chili? It was 6 oz. 12 dollar corking fee on all bottles consumed on the premises. Thank goodness good restaurants await in vancouver and almost anywhere else on the planet.

Great place if you ever have a 4 hour layover! They had great hours when I had an insane flight delay - although it might be their normal hours! The wines were GREAT! The olives were an awesome appetizer. I didn't have any entrees, but the cheese plate was disappointing. Overall though, I was really impressed and would recommend it if you ever have time stuck in the airport you simply MUST go there and sample the local wines.

Finally, a fitting stop-over for liberal elites.
I'm not going to lie to you. Flying has been an unbearable hardship for us liberal elites (especially the elitist ones like myself). First you have to stand in line for boarding passes--invented by a conservatives, I assure you--then be patted down by jackbooted TSA who see threats and the 2nd coming in containers of greater than 3 ounces.

Sure you can wash the leftover bad taste out of your mouth with a beer but the sounds of your NPR podcast are drowned out by the lowbrow sporting contests on the surrounding flat panel TVs. But at last, there is Vino Volo where you can not only get cheese with whine, but eat smoked salmon on a baguette too.

    In a word, SocialisticVineyardOfHeavenlySecularism.

The wine is excellent! I'm a California fan so anything Napa valley is great! Now that I got that off my chest, there's a good selection of international wines too.  Having said that, the price tag that comes with the glasses here is overkill, hence the 4 stars.
The salmon rolls are superb, as is the cheesecake!  Now, I'm not a big portion kinda guy and I understand the idea of small, cute, pretty little portions, but COME ON! These are just too small. It's delicious and I want more! I'd give it three stars but the staff was cool, atmosphere excellent, and great music! Overall, an excellent place to kill time.

Let me preface this by saying, I would have picked Anthony's, but they were closed. So, Vino Volo..... well, sounds delicious! A wine flight before my actual flight? YAY!

I had a flight of wine, it was one of their red flights. I liked it. Afterwards, I decided to have a glass of one of the wines I had tasted. My only complaint was the glass was more expensive than the entire flight! I should have had another flight, I guess I'll know for next time.

Vino Volo offers small plates on the menu, which is great. I got to try the Beechers Mac and Cheese(which made Oprahs Fave 2010 list). Well, it didn't really meet my expectations, AT ALL. I wouldn't order it again.

And, small plates do not equal small bill. A couple glasses of decent wine and a small appetizer and you'll drop $60 easily. Well, at least it wasn't a challenge for me to do!

Normally, I prefer a Bloody Mary from Anthony's, so I will only be back here if I have no other option.

Calm, quiet & a nice little oasis in the middle of the airport - right next to the food court yet somehow far away.

We got the small meat plate which was small and tasty and gf got some bubbly. I don't like overeating while flying, so small amounts of food are a good thing in this case. Also, food's not any more than the other places around you - it just feels nicer to be here.

What's a girl to do when she has a 4 hour layover on a Thursday night in Seattle?

    Overindulge on wine and cheese.

I've seen Vino Volo before in the Oakland airport- but never had a reason to stop as I don't have layovers in Oakland.

I was pleasantly surprised that they did have bites to eat- the truffle macaroni and cheese is a definite must.  The do wine flights, and have a good selection of meats.  Meat and cheese?  My favorites!

It's a cute space, and service was good for a transient type of establishment.

Only drawback- I wish they had outlets to plug things into.  With so many people on laptops here, I thought they would.

Vino Volo was my best airport dining experience I have ever had. I couldn't have made a better decision. I had the delicious Mac and Cheese which I HIGHLY recommend. (I had the cup, I recommend the larger portion).

I also did the 3 wines sampler which was delicious and decently priced. It was the PERFECT end to a busy travel workweek.

Also, the service here was phenomenal. The guys were so friendly and attentive. I almost wanted to hug them, I was THAT pleased.

The only thing that sucks about Vino Volo is that I didn't think of it first.

Getting to the airport 90 minutes before the flight is a whole lot better now that Vino Volo is on the radar. I popped in once because I couldn't believe my eyes that I saw Leonetti for sale on the back wall (affirmative, btw. Leo-freakin-netti). But a few days ago I had a traveling companion and more than an hour to spare so we saddled up to the bar and had an utterly terrific time.

The wine selection is like a celebrity gathering: Abeja, K Vintners, Grammercy Cellars, Long Shadows... It's a rather stupefying line-up, frankly.  The folks working there were terrific. Great wine knowledge across the board, and seemingly unfazed by existing in a hectic airport location, or by the transient nature of the clientele. They have a bunch of great wine flights (I think there were 8, give or take), a great by-the-glass list, and you can buy bottles for there or bottles to go. This location is heavy on WA wines (smart!), but not exclusively WA wines (double smart).

The menu was fantastic. Chick pea and chorizo salad, meats & cheeses, prosciutto brie sammy (delish!), gourmet mac n cheese, and all kinds of stuff that you don't see in airports. I do believe there is no fryer in Vino Volo. Praise.

And the space just feels.........nice. Welcoming. It's comfortable. Easy to breathe. There isn't a screaming sports game or a news channel broadcasting doom anywhere in sight. The chairs are cushy. The bubbly is refreshingly cold. Everybody is smiling.

    Basically, HALLELUJAH.

Travelers take note! Vino Volo can be found in the following airports:
    Baltimore
    Dulles
    Detroit
    Newark
    JFK
    Oakland
    Philadelphia
    Sacremento
    San Antonio

Coming soon to an airport near you...???? It'll be interesting to watch Vino Volo grow into a mini-empire. If you're into that kind of stuff.

This is a very fine wine bistro considering it's in an airport.  Imaginative flights and a focus on local wineries.  Knowledgeable and friendly staff.  My one caveat would be the small bites, which are slightly overpriced and under-portioned.  That said, I picked up a nice bottle of Charles Smith's MKC and, for that alone, I'm thrilled with Vino Volo!

I've been a fan of Vino Volos for awhile now. They're a welcome respite from the craziness in the terminal, they're a bar so no whiny kids are allowed (whiny adults somehow still make it in), and they feature local wines.

I know this is about the Seattle location -- which I've experienced only once -- but every one I've been to (and I've been to several) is a delight.  Most focus on local wines, offer flights so you can compare, and have yummy nibbles that beat the hell out of the microwave-heated burritos elsewhere in the concourse.

Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, but not to the point of being a pain or intimidating.  They gave the impression they'd tell you as much or as little as you want to know.

But what you NEED to know is this: if you're an adult (over 21), are waiting for a flight, and want something a notch or two up from the usual airport fare, Vino Volo is where you need to go. You won't be disappointed!

We'll definitely be regulars at this place. We might as well become club members! I decided to finally check this place out while waiting for our flight to catch a flight back home since we always walk past it. Their small bites are perfect size before jumping on a plane. They have great selection on wine flights from all across the world.

You must order the Salmon Roll, it's soo delicious and yummy I want to take a trip to the Oakland airport just to order some. Thank goodness we have one in OAK now. The waitress recommended their truffle mac & cheese. She said it's pretty delicious..but I beg to defer. It's ok....not the best and I can do without it the next time around.

It's pricey for airport food-$40 for a flight, glass of wine and two small bites but it helps kill time and worth it for the quality of food and service.

Sea-Tac International Airport blows for $10 and gives change.

So If you have to spend more than an hour killing time at hellish Sea-Tac, you'll need to find a place where you can dull the pain.   Sure, you can go to Casa del Agave and get hammered.  That's an option if you like flying drunk.

I don't like flying drunk.  I don't understand people who like flying drunk.

I recommend Vino Volo.  You can take a seat here and have a glass of overpriced Cabernet Franc (it's an airport -- of course it's overpriced) and chill.   If you have time to drink two glasses or if you're with a companion, buy the bottle.

You'll sit there and almost forget you're at Sea-Tac until you open your laptop and attempt to log on to the airport's AT&T WiFi, a privilege for which you've had to pay, and the web pages start loading like the AOL dial-up connection you had back in the early 80s.

When that happens, turn off the computer, take a sip of wine, close your eyes, loll the wine around in your mouth, and go to your happy place.  You board your jet in an hour.

A wine bar in an airport?  Who woulda thunk!!  An upscale/elegant looking place to sit down and have a wine flight or two?

Very nice wine shop / wine bar slash small bite place located inside the secure area at the airport.  (this is important since it means you can buy wine and carry the bottles right on board).

We bought a couple of bottles.  They feature a lot of local Washington / Oregon wines in the front and the back has a few imports.  In general things some things were a little overpriced (a few bucks a bottle on a lot of things, some of the stuff is small producer so it's hard to guage what it should cost anyway), but not terrible. We were heading to Maui so it seemed like the store prices couldn't be worse.

They have table service ... we didn't try much of the food, just some olives.  We did howeever try a nice wine flight of Oregon reds.  Very good wine featured.  I really like that they have a card under each glass of wine explaining what it is, the bold flavors of it, what style it is.. and you can take the card with you and try to buy the wines back home if you don't buy them there...    They brought us some complimentary chocolates to try (very bizarre ones at that.. .curry flavored, a spicey one, and a dark chocolate).  I dropped the plate on the floor, but it was still good. oops.

I love this concept!  I'll be back (hopefully!)

Super happy this place is in SeaTac, because it makes getting to the airport early a treat.  I plop down in a comfy leather chair, pull out my laptop, or book du jour and order up a glass of something Pacific NW tasty.  I also usually end up buying a bottle to take with me for friends or family....so much better than going to the Washington store and bringing the awkward salmon in a vacuum sealed pack or dried cherries and nuts.
The prices are cheap for wine bars and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable....Keep it up Vino Volo!!!

I really hate airport bars. They're noisy, slow and pricey. My only exception to this previously was the Legal Seafoods at Logan in Boston, where you could get specialty drinks and fresh oysters.

Vino Volo is an outstanding alternative to the airport bar. Once you've walked in and sat down in the dark leather chairs and the modern Euro design, you feel like you're in a private club. They offer pours or bottles, as well as flights(sort of an airport pun I guess). I had a tasty malbec for aobut 6 bucks which sure beats a watered down martini any day. They also have really good snacks and small bites. The hazelnuts with sage make beernuts look very sad by comparison.

Between the relaxed atmosphere and the affordable alchohol, this makes a great place to get your mellow on before you try to sleep on an overcrowded red eye to the east coast.

For being a wine bar in the airport they are quite pretentious!!!!!

Sitting at the bar top waiting for one of my girlfriends to meet up with me seemed like a burden to one of the waitress's that worked there.. Seriously I am not going to start drinking without her, and yes I do want the mac and cheese... Geeze....

Too many looks my way with a little bit of snicker was beyond me....

Finally my girlfriend arrived and we were ready to toast to our vacation, and our waitress is now nowhere to be found? hmmm interesting.. before I was rushed and now I am being ignored.. hello anyone back there.. is there a waitress, maybe a hostess, maybe even maybe a sommelier that is on staff to give us some wine flights to wine romance me? no no no??

Crap.. well our flight is about to take off.. so I guesstimated.. yes I made it up guesstimated on my bill, and went on my way.. that's a load of crap because I so wanted to try out some tasty wine with some cheese.

3 stars for the truffle mac and cheese, and if that girl isn't working next time I come to the airport I might just have a better experience...

When you have to kill time before your flight, I can't think of a better place to go then here. For a very reasonable $9 I got a very nice "washington whites" flight, all washington state wines that were very tasty (and a good pour for each). A Columbia Valley Mifbrandt Vineyards Chardonnay, Columbia Valley Kestrel Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc, and a Columbia Valley Seven Hills Riesling. All were very tasty, and in an obscure order. I would've expected it the other way around bc Riesling is the sweetest, but it worked.

They also have nibbles, and the atmosphere is nice, plus you can buy wine to bring home. However, it gets crowded so you may not get one of the plushy chairs.

If you're going to get stuck in the airport, or you just happen to get there too early, Vino Volo is a great place to kill some time.  The wine list is excellent, and if you don't know anything on the list (like me) the servers are happy to help you out.  I can't remember which white wine I went with last time, but it was from South American and it was delicious.  The food is good too; I'm partial to the salmon rolls and the Mac & Cheese but I've heard the chicken salad is great as well.

I'd give them five stars, but the appetizers they offer are pretty expensive and I would have spent way more than I wanted to if I had filled up enough to have it count for dinner.  (Granted, maybe I picked something pricy to start with?)  With friendly service, comfy chairs, good wine and food, and avoiding the "stuck in the airport" vibe, I highly recommend Vino Volo.

Incredible food, informative staff... oh, and did I mention the top-notch vino? And the affordable tasters? Each glass comes on a coaster which lists all of its info (so you can take it home). Alternatively you can buy wine to take with you on the plane.
THIS is my ideal pre-flight meal (yes, the wine.. and perhaps some of their salmon rolls or mac and cheese with truffle oil).. For the love of God please put this wine shop in every airport that I may ever dare to fly from.

The only place to go in the airport that gives you a comfy place to hang out, watch people, eat good food, and relax while sippin' on wine.

Our new favorite travel tip is to arrive at Seatac a couple hours early, hang out at Vino Volo and relax. Makes traveling almost an enjoyable time.

Vino Volo....an oasis of peace in an otherwise chaotic and crowded holiday travel hell. Trying to kill time before my flight today, I happened upon this lovely wine bar/shop....with the requisite chill, down tempo tunes and innovative wine flights representing wines from the world over.

Prior to Vino Volo....a glass of wine before your flight was most desirably consumed in the First Class Lounge of your airline, or alternatively one of the airport's ubiquitous sports bars (sigh).

Apparently there are other Vino Volo's in Sacramento, Washington Dulles, Baltimore and JFK, with more planned. The nice thing, is that it doesn't feel like a chain. Oh, and great appetizers, too. Makes traveling just a little more bearable.

Last Friday, with my flight delayed, I discovered a new wine bar called Vino Volo while strolling thru Sea-Tac's terminal marketplace. Vino Volo is not only a wine bar, but also a retail shop where you can purchase a bottle of wine and take it with you on the plane. There are sections dedicated to Washington and Oregon wines as well as California, France, Italy and Spain. Overall, the shop offers a good cross-section of local, regional and world wines.

Best of all, there are some interesting tasting flights arranged to showcase local and global wines. For example, Vino Volo has one side of its tasting menu dedicated to Pacific Northwest wines, featuring flights such as Serious Syrahs, Northwest Noirs, Best of the Northwest and Winery Showcase. They complement these with a series of fun flights of global wines entitled BBQ Reds, Ross of Summer, World Value Whites and a Sommelier Series.

After scanning the tasting menu, I settled on the Northwest Noir flight, which was comprised of an Apolloni Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2003, a Cristom Mt Jefferson Cuvee Pinot Noir 2005 and an Argyle Nuthouse Vineyard Pinot Noir 2004 (all three were delicious). Vino Volo presents the flight resting on a tray with information about each wine on a card underneath the glasses.

They have an easy to understand flavor chart to help folks identify the fruit and complexity profiles for each wine. In addition, they offer useful tasting notes detailing the various flavor notes as well as terroir maps showing where each wine is sourced. I really appreciated Vino Volo's efforts going beyond the bottle to help connect customers to the wines they poured.

Having just finished lunch, I did not try any of the small dishes Vino Volo offered, which were designed to pair with their wine inventory. The white wine pairings included smoked salmon rolls, a Tuscan chicken sandwich and chickpea sausage chili. The red wine combinations were artisan cured meats, duck confit lentil salad and a ziti and cheese dish. Nuts, olives and cheese are also offered.

Overall, the service was great, the atmosphere relaxing and the experience fantastic. In fact, I completely forgot I was in an airport. It felt as if I was in a neighborhood wine bar and just enjoying the experience and discovery of tasting wine. Vino Volo has not only created a great concept, but have tapped into a huge unmet need for those seeking a more relaxing, enjoyable way to spend time in an airport.

I highly recommend you stopping by Vino Volo on your next visit to Sea-Tac or another airport they are located. Whether you make your flight or not, there is always another one waiting for you at Vino Volo. Cheers!

This lovely little wine bar has radically improved my opinion of late-night flights out of SEA-TAC.

They offer a nice array of wines by the bottle, glass or set-of-three tastings with knowledgeable staff and well-written little descriptions.

I really enjoyed the $10 smoked-salmon-and-crab appetizer, as well as a very nice tasting of three Washington wines for $9.

Since this is post-security, you can also buy wines by the bottle here and hand-carry to your destination. (Nice if you hate to check luggage, but are visiting someone you'd like to bring a bottle of the local product.)  Good, if highly edited, selection of Washington, Oregon and California wines.  A few from further afield, too.

    Five stars, I say!

As a girl who travels quite a bit, this spot is one of my all-time favorite places to hang out in an airport. In fact, before I experienced Vino Volo, I don't think I had ever actually enjoyed hanging out in an airport.

This chic little nook is an oenophile's oasis in the midst of a busy airport. Step in here and you will feel like you are in an actual wine bar. Their decent, constantly change wine list manages to sate the pickiest palate and their staff has never been anything but charming.

Their menu (all catered outside) is a little tribute to Seattle's small plates, with a shout to Beecher cheese, some wild Alaskan salmon and a cornucopia of fresh veggies and herbs. The fresh plates serve as a perfect compliment to a glass of wine (they will suggest a pairing) and can serve as an entire meal if you order a few.

They also serve their cured olives warm, which makes me think of this pizzeria by my house in SF. A nice little touch of comfort.

You might expect this wine bar, in an airport of all places, to be on the pricey side, but no! As I type up this review I am enjoying a nice glass of Argentinian Malbec for a mere $6. And if I so decide, I can get a bottle to take home for $16. Impressive!

Definitely THE place to hang in SeaTac if you are over 21 and have a little extra time on your hands.

Also, there are always some cute guys in there. A plus for ladies because it means you might have some flirty fun and a plus for guys because if you go there, then chances are I think you are cute!

    Cheers, Vino Volo!

Like Taggart, below, said, this is the only time(s) I've ever said "Y'know....fuck it, if we're late an hour, whatever."

Great knowledgeable staff and they are known, if you demonstrate curiosity, to throw a little free love sample your way.  Corporate though they are in fact, in practice they are not.  Amazing what giving autonomy to your employees will do.

Food: good small plates: Beechers Mac & Cheese with truffle oil?  My only regret is they didn't have a Ghemme or Barbaresco to drink with it (Nebbiolo with truffle is like Humboldt with the 5 foot bong...not that I would know....WHERE'S MY DORITOS?).

The only reason I would ever want to get to the airport an hour before I need to is this place.

If you are looking for a good glass of wine at the airport this isn't to bad of a place to stop off. I figured I would give it a shot.

I ended up picking a Spanish red wine and it came with a cool little coaster explaining various things about the wine.

Overall the place felt a little pretentious but I was kind of expecting that and just tried to enjoy my glass before my flight.

    wine: spectacular.
food: mediocre except for the olives. Pork tacos are bland, mac and cheese was overdone.

solution: eat at Ivar's, then drink here 'til your flight!

Vino Volo has been a lifesaver on many occasions. Ever since the liquid scare from the UK terrorist idiots a few years ago, it's a complete hassle to check in wines. Now when I fly out I can stop by Vino Volo for a glass and some nibbles, and walk right on a flight with a 6-pack to go. The waitstaff are very nice and always make great recommendations. The food is tasty and the prices for bottled wines are not too bad considering you're obviously paying a premium at an airport. It's great to see a strong representation of wines from the Pacific NW instead of the usual overpriced CA wines.

My trip to Seattle / Redmond Trip was far from stellar,(lost phone, delayed flights, shit cabbies).  This was a bright spot in a dim trip.

The bartenders/servers are nice and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxing.  After my second glass of wine, I forgot I was in an airport.

I had this Mac & Cheese which was made with Truffle oil...absolutely killer.

They aren't in a lot of cities right now, but the SeaTac store/bar was great.

    Stephanie was a real sweetheart.

Great little pit stop when you have extra time at the airport. I have been to a few different locations and they have all been good. I do like this one better, as they seem to have a few more Washington reds here.
