One of Vino Bello Resort's Favorite Reviews What's This?
We stayed in the Vino Bello Cabernet area for my cousin's birthday. It was really nice - there are suites connected via a small foyer, so the it feels nice, not like a hotel.
The suite was nice - full kitchen, large bathroom, jacuzzi in the bedroom, and in-suite laundry. There was a great pool area for all the little kids - with a fountain geyser area, 1.5ft wading pool and the pool is i think 4.5 ft deep at most. There are also grills available for bbq while the kids are playing - we had corn and porterhouse and hotdogs, and the fully-equipped kitchen made it easy - and there were all kinds fo wine glasses too, so you can enjoy your purchases from the wineries.
The location is nice, isolated, there is a beautiful vista point on the road down to the resort. Its close enough to wineries and such. I'd def stay somewhere like this after a good long day in Napa rather than drive back to the city.
I would stay here again. I think I will. Next week or something.

This is a great choice if you'd like to spend the night in Napa on the way to all of the big wineries off of the main highway. It's not located very close to the wineries, but it's very affordable.
The property isn't big, but it's right next to the Meritage Resort and Spa, which is home to Siena Restaurant. Vino Bello has a variety of suites you can choose from - the standard suite with a small kitchenette and washer/dryer, as well as junior and superior size suites with bedrooms, living rooms and a full kitchen.
I decided to book a standard suite for my boyfriend's birthday. We spent a night here and the next morning, continued along the main highway to visit a couple of wineries. Vino Bello was perfect. I made dinner reservations at Siena Restaurant. Our room was clean and comfy and just right for the two of us. We received a bottle of complimentary wine. The desk and hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel also has a pool, but we didn't have a chance to enjoy it.
Location-wise, it's in an industrial part of Napa that's not too scenic, but again...on the way up to the major wineries. All together, I spent under $200 for a night, which I thought was just right given the location and quality of room and service. I'd come back here.

Awesome. We recently stayed here on brief trip to Napa. This place is really as good as it gets. The room was reasonably inexpensive and was the best hotel stay I have ever had.
- The bed and pillows were comfortable
- Free bottle of wine and soft drinks (restocked daily.. for free)
- Kitchenette with granite, microwave, fridge, etc
- Flat screen television
- Large spacious bathroom with a huge soaking tub
I didn't have a chance to partake in any of the other resort activities, but would definitely come back. The only downside is that it is a little far away from the wineries and doesn't have much of a view.

I was amazed when we walked into our one bedroom suite. I was pretty excited about the jacuzzi in the bedroom but on top of that a full kitchen and spacious living area. Although it was just the two of us we pretty much could have had a few friends come with us w/ all the space we had. It was pretty nice. I didn't know how fully equipped they were or I would've brought things to make a cute breakfast or something but still it was great. It was a bit far off from most the wineries but I think that's why we kind of liked it since it was quiet and away from the hustle and bustle.
There was a huge pool but no one used it...we weren't prepared to go for a swim either. I don't have many complaints at all about this place I just wished we could stay longer. Oh, although I thought the whole jacuzzi was great but really, no spa/bubble products to use w/ it? I recommend bringing your own if you decide to take a bath. It just felt like a large apartment or a small condo so I felt very at home. Only thing is this place is a bit pricey but I felt like it was worth it.
AMAZING! I can't say it enough!
First I should say, I pricelined for the best price - business travel budget I have to adhere to, and usually I feel sometimes like I get the last pick of rooms when I priceline.
Front desk was wonderful - I checked in and needed a fridge for my wine to chill (I'm a wine sales rep here on business) - so they offered me an upgrade to one of the one bedroom suites - for a discounted price (AAA I think). I walked into this place thinking I'd died and gone to heaven - stayed in the Chardonnay building. Patio off my room overlooking vineyard, pool and gazebo of greenery. It's truly peaceful to the fullest. Fireplace and jacuzzi in my room, full kitchen with gorgeous brand new appliances. Bed was heaven, decor was warm and friendly and very chic. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN!
Room service - Johnny at the room service desk was friendly, helpful, accommodating, professional, made me feel right at home even though I was being slightly difficult - I've just started a low sugar, gluten free diet for digestive problems. Hate to be difficult with substitutions, but he was so nice about it.
You feel the professionalism of the highest standards but without any snooty attitude.
After a long rough work week, this was pure heaven. Next time, knowing there is a kitchen I will bring some healthy food options to have on hand. Although that being said, the room service menu is very good - and very reasonably priced. It was so worth the extra money to upgrade. I hope that option is always available! I come to Napa at least once a month on business.
This will be my permanent stay of choice.
I wish I could live here. A weekend getaway to Napa? Yesss anyday.
Came here w/ the bf & bff and her bf. Lol.
Paid closed to nothing, all compliments of being an ex Shell employee, & on top of that, the room was soooo nice. We walked in an felt like new roomies on the real world. LOL. They were very accommodating, i.e. makin a trip to our room to give us cooking oil (we were somewhat ill-equipped) among other things. Haha. Loved the jet jacuzzi in the bedroom & the huge bathroom w/ like 6 diff shower heads. Ooh and a nice bottle of complimentary wine too. Napa outlets are not too far & grocery store close by as well. Next time, I will try the wine tasting & spa.
Really nice room, but like other reviewers have said- the place is kind of in the middle of nowhere. The staff are really friendly, brought me milk when I need it for my kid, and helpfully recommended a lunch place, that was great.
Pleasant little walking path into the vineyard at the back of the resort, and the pools are wonderful.
Not having Vino Bello as my #200 review was beyond me, I actually blamed the bf for pouring me a glass of wine before I yelp....
The bf and I came here for a timeshare presentation. It was pretty hard to pass a free 2 nights hotel with $125 V Sattui certificate. Well, there's no such thing as a free lunch that's for sure. We endured the almost 2 hours presentation, and the reward for that mere 2 hours of unpleasantness was well worth the trouble.
Onto the hotel review, somehow, someway, miracle happened, we got assigned a more than 800sf one bedroom condo, super comfy king size bed, with in-room jacuzzi right next to the bed (how raunchy can that be man), massive size bath, shower with 6 jets that can fit 4 fat folks, a nice @ss kitchen with all the tools you need to cook or BAKE!, 2 plasma tv (one in the living room, one in bedroom) with dvd player, a fireplace, AND A PATIO that's accessible from the bedroom and the living room?!
Thank you God, you must've really love us! We were jumping up and down for joy for good 30 mins, drank the complimentary bottle of wine, and went back to jumping up and down for joy.
We had a WONDERFUL time at the "resort," or whatever they want to call it, I don't care. Room service was nice also. The food was from the Meritage hotel's restaurant, Siena Grill. We ordered 2 angus burgers and tomato soup to heal our hungover @ss, and the food weren't disappointing with super friendly room service staff. That actually offset the disappointment of not making to Ad Hoc for dinner at 8pm. We were too drunk to go anywhere after spending our $125 in V. Sattui winery, AGAIN, FREE (so we went all out, and all drunk at the end.)
They also let you check out dvd at the reception, although with limited selection, the movies aren't too bad at all. On our last night there, we cozy up next to the fire place, slightly hungover, munching on our angus burger while watching a pretty darn good movie, follow by some jacuzzi action and ended the night. It was fun, it was cozy, it was great.
Like the bf said at the end of our stay, I DON'T WANT TO GO, BUT I DON'T WANT TO PAY! I agreed strongly, I didn't want to go, and I didn't want to pay.
THANKS TIMESHARE. Next time, sign us up again!
PS - walls pretty thin, but that didn't really bother us. we weren't too sensitive to noise.

We are Shell owners. I have yet to be disappointed with a Shell property. We haven't stayed at them all, by any means. But we've been very happy with the properties we've stayed at. The Vino Bello was no exception.
The rooms are very very pretty. There is a ton of space in the one bedroom. The kitchen/dining area is huge. The bathroom is huge. We were all taking dibs on who got to take a jacuzzi or shower next. It was very quiet. We never even heard the neighbors in the adjoining room.
The pool area was nice. We used it in the afternoon with the kids and in the morning for laps. The hot tub ... was dirty. It was super foamy. The next day they'd added more chlorine, which doesn't help with the foam, so now it was foamy and toxic. Sigh. We went over to the Meritage side and their hot tub was much cleaner.
The only complaint we had, and my husband experienced this more than I and mentioned it to the ... somebody. He felt like we received differential (negative) treatment because we were on the Vino Bello side. For example, he had a minor issue with the grills (no lighter) that he called the front desk about and THREE phone calls later (they insisted there were lighters ... really?) they told him someone would be over - and they never showed up.
Didn't use the spa, it's pretty expensive, especially compared to the places we go in Calistoga (ok, I'm sure it's more luxurious and all that). There was a bottle of wine in the room, which was complimentary. Very nice touch. As per a timeshare, the kitchen was fully loaded with gear making it easy to (have DH) cook a meal rather than go out.
We'll be back.

Pretty nice place for the price! It was an extremely enjoyable stay and the suite was enormous. For the money, I think it was definitely one of the better places I've stayed in a while.
It's kind of weird that it's behind an industrial park, but otherwise, it's a nice place to stay during a visit to Napa.
I ended up staying at this hotel for one night with my wife because I bid for a Napa hotel on priceline. Overall, I would not stay here again. Here's my experience:
- It's not very close to the wineries in Napa. You would be better off with a hotel in a better location if you are going to Napa for the wineries.
- Our room was small
- Our room smelled strongly of steak or hamburger meat. They should have taken this room out of circulation to air it out.
- The air conditioner is VERY loud. So loud that we had to turn it off in order to sleep. Luckily it was a cooler week, otherwise that would not have been an option.
- The whole resort feels very much like a Vegas hotel that tried to do a "wine country" resort.
- If you bid on priceline, you will still have to pay a $15 resort fee - yuck! This is hardly a resort that justifies that kind of fee.
We got a one bedroom suites and was very pleasantly surprised. The room was huge, well appointed and included a full kitchen and spa. Two flat screen TVs, and the shower had extra nozzles on the wall to get into all those hard to reach nooks and crannies!
Drinks were pretty expensive in the hotel bar, but I guess that's nothing surprising.
They also run a shuttle to downtown till about 10pm, which was great. It's kind of located in the back of an industrial park, which is a bit weird, but you don't notice at all.
Would definitely go back
We spent one night here for an event in Napa. Very nice room. Bedroom with jacuzzi tub, large bath with two sinks, shower for two or three (if you're kinky), kitchen and living room. To much room for just a one night stay. I can't comment on price since my wife's boss was kind enough to put us up for the night.
Service at the front desk was nice. They called us a cab to drive us to a winery. Took home the complimentary bottle of wine and drank the two complimentary bottles of water...left the soda alone.
This would be a great place for a family spending some time in Napa. Not to far from Copia and downtown Napa.
Ooh my I love our suite.
I'm so glad that my brother have timeshare. He was able to reserve 3 bedroom suites for all of us. I got to spent time with family but at the same time Wli and I have our suite. ^_^
Each suite have complimentary wine, our's were Chardonnay. One coolest thing was the jacuzzi by our bed. What can I say, jacuzzi, wine, strawberry and watching my fav team played (Go Lakers) perfect.
Also if you get there by Fri afternoon, they have free wine tasting on their cave. Service were wonderful.
The only thing I didn't like was the water pressure when taking a shower.
I'm a shell owner and I love love love this resort. Yes, it's situated in a business park, not overlooking green vineyards, but so what. That's what the wineries are for anyway. Our room was ultra Tuscan by which I mean dark cabinets with eloquent finishing, plush sofa draped with embroidered red and brown throw pillows, stainless steel appliances (ok not really Tuscan), a walk-in shower to DIE for, jacuzzi hot tub (yowza) and a balcony with a view of.....ok fine a business park.
The wine cave, the happy hour with free wine and cheese/crackers and courtyard with free bocci ball lessons (have to take advantage next time) were all nice touches to add to the pleasant stay. Oh and a plus that it's very close to downtown.
Will stay again....=)

We have stayed here for a few nights and we were very pleased with this resort- yes- the location is smack in the middle of the business park- but it was almost vacant or quiet and either way once you got to the property- It was ZERO big deal- LOVED the SUITE! was upgraded to the most amazing 1 BR suite - ALL brand new with HUGE rooms and Amazing, very large outside balcony...LOVED THEIR pool! loved the DOUBLE (couple like chaises)- plenty of outside umbrellas from sun! FANTASTIC! SUPER value- the road noise was way in the background and you can barely here if you actually stopped and listened for it...the pool was playing nice soft tunes... I did wish the wait staff by pool would make a round but they seemed to think there was no one thirty... Also the gate on one side to leave is very NOISY by the pool - HOTEL MNGR needs to find a way to soften that noise. There is no reason one cannot nap by the pool- Spa looked great.
The bathrooms were HUGE inside the rooms! kitchen and Laundry stackables were perfect for those with families (maybe future travel). We have NOTHING but good things to say about them- you check in at the same place as the Maritage RESORT- they share front desk- GREAT restaurant too- Nice patio with fireplace dining....Will return.
We are Shell vacation club owners and LOVE coming here. Always amazing staff. The weather was amazing this weekend. Will keep coming.
We got off to a rocky start - the resort is located in some mysterious nowhere land and our Prius's navigational system could not find it at all. We ended up having to pull up Google Maps on our mobile phones and visually comparing it to the car's map.
For my first time in Napa, I couldn't have stayed at a better resort! However, I fully acknowledge I have nothing else to compare it to, so do read this review with a grain of salt!
A friend of mine owns a timeshare here, so my perception of price here is probably very skewed and not worth mentioning. As for accomodations, we got a divided suite with a shared front door - once in the front door there were two separate front doors, each keycarded.
Our room was a mini studio, with a kitchenette and lovely bathroom; their one bedroom was one of the most phenomenal suites I've ever seen, with a fireplace in a plush sitting room, full kitchen and breakfast bar, an expansive balcony overlooking the pool, a humongous, canopied king size bed, in-room jacuzzi tub, and huge marble bathroom attached. There was a washer and dryer set in both of our rooms, and each room came with a complementary bottle of red wine to welcome us!
I also have nothing but good things to say about their spa, Spa Terra, which is located within their impressive wine cave in the back. The facilities are a bit more modest compared to some other full-service spas (as in saunas and steam rooms, not happy endings) that you can find around the SF Bay Area, but to their credit, the 50 min. deep tissue massage I got was one of the best I've ever had!
It was pretty bad weather for a weekend in Napa, so I'm glad that Vino Bello was one of the most enjoyable timeshare/resorts that I've had the pleasure of staying at. I was going to give it 4 stars due to the fact that I don't have anything to compare it to, but then figured that wouldn't be fair, so 5 out of 5 it is!

I found a deal online and booked this place. We stayed in the Vino Bello part of Meritage, which is the hotel part rather than the condo part. Our room was clean and nice and the bathroom was awesome with a huge soaking tub. It's in Napa, but a pretty good drive from the wineries and where you really want to be. Would I stay here again or recommend it to others... yes. That said, the next time we head up to Napa, we want to be a bit closer to the wineries, restaurants, etc. and wil be staying at one of the little hotels up there.
I stayed here with my boyfriend last Christmas (it was our present to each other), and other than the fact that he came down with the flu on the first day of our vacation, we completely enjoyed our stay. The suite was wonderfully roomy, the bed was amazingly huge and comfortable (we slept damn good), the jacuzzi tub was excellent and the shower was awesome! We watched movies and snuggled in front of the fire in the provided robes and our clothes took advantage of the in-room dryer, as we were soaked in the rainstorm running back to our room after breakfast. Yes, it is located in a corporate park area and isn't within walking distance to outside dining and wineries, but we weren't there to taste wine and stare at vineyards, if you know what I mean... ;-)
All in all, it was a perfectly romantic weekend and we plan on going back again for the next holiday. Next time, we'll participate in the resort spa and free wine and cheese in the lobby.
Nice modern setup for a quick Napa getaway. Hotel staff was friendly & helpful from start-to-finish. The suite I booked turned out to be huge. Full kitchen, dining area, and living room with a fireplace & flat panel TV. Huge king-size bed with pillow top was super comfy. In-room whirlpool tub was a nice bonus. Swiveling LCD TV makes it so you can catch some shows from the comfort of soaking in the tub. Bathroom itself is also gargantuan with double sinks and shower equipped with 5 H2O jets.
Only gripe is that it is not located conveniently near any major restaurants...but then again it seems as though this is generally the case for most Napa Valley resorts. Wineries and restaurants are just a 10-15 min drive away and that worked out fine.
This hotel is actually is split up into two. On one side is the Meritage, the other the vino Bello. This is operated by Shell Vacation Club, and there were some tours going at the time. The Meritage is more of a hotel with a restaurant, ballroom/convention facilties, and standard rooms. The Vino Bello has suites. We stayed in a one bedroom suite complete with a full size kitchen, and a separate bedroom. The bathroom has a large shower, 2 separate sinks. There is a jetted tub in the bedroom. It seems that now the hotel has completed the pool and jacuzzi area.
Room was very quiet and spacious. We had a end unit of the "Cabernet" building. Patio had a table with 4 chairs and a rocking sofa. Location of the hotel is on the Southern edge of Napa, far away from the wineries and restaurants in the valley. Also located in a corporate park.

3.5~4 stars.
The room was a lot smaller than I expected. But we did get a good deal on Priceline.
Every room seems to have its own washer/dryer which was interesting. We made good use of it though! Free bottle of wine was pretty sweet, plus free refills on soft drinks and water!!
It was kind of weird that this "resort" was located in the middle of a corporate park.
We also went to their spa, which was so wonderful and relaxing.
We stayed here on April 28, 2007 and if you like large impersonal hotels then this place will be just fine for you. We stayed in room 284 and it felt like we were walking through a maze to find our room.
The sheets were a bit hard but the ammenities were nice. It is a nice resort but it seemed far away from the wineries. The outdoor jacuzzi was being worked on during our stay so we weren't able to try it out. We did have a nice wonderfully large patio but we shared it with the room next door which was a little odd.
We will definitely not be going back to this hotel.

Terrible customer service! Elisse, the hotel manager refused to help us when we realized they gave us a King bed when we really had purchased a room with 2 full beds. They said it's http://Hotel.com's fault and refused even offer another King room for our 3rd and 4th person in the room. They said they were all booked with 2 full bed rooms. They were not even apologetic at all and refused to make the situation better. We took our business elsewhere.
Vino Bello Resort is a premiere spa resort own and operated via Shell Vacations Club, although individual clientele can reserve rooms at this exclusive resort. I booked a one bedroom suite for Mother's Day 2007 from May 13-15, 2007. I also booked through the concierge desk reservations for the Resort's 5-Star Restaurant for Mother's Day evening. Service is the ultimately wonderful throughout the Resort.
I already scoped out the property and I must say-the entire property is well-coiffed, well-appointed . . . 5-STARS!
Here's Vino Bello Resort URL:

Just came back from NYE at the Vino Bello! We loved it. The rooms were exactly as pictured online.
Rooms: They are like little apartments/condos and very clean (maid service was excellent.....even washed and loaded the dishwasher for us). The location is random in a industrial business center but we found the hotel to be off the main road like a lot of the other hotels seemed to be (which made it nice because you don't have any street noise). It was also about a 10 min. drive to downtown Napa where we went to some great places (Celadon and Cole's Chop House).
The rooms had a full kitchen, a fireplace, a tub which we used and was a nice touch and the bathroom was big and had the coolest showers. This would be a great option for those traveling w/ groups/families as you can save your money and make your own breakfast and lunches and then splurge on wine tasting and dinners! There was also a washer and dryer which is awesome but we didn't use it.
I would go back again if we make another trip up there. The front desk folks were friendly enough, we even rented a dvd they had in their dvd library and had a great nite staying in and relaxing by the fire. it's a beautiful hotel and for the price (we paid about $200), you can't beat it. We also worked out at the gym (small but sufficient for a quick workout) and got massages at the spa there.
Their wine cave bar was also great for a quick pre-check in drink. The women that worked there were very nice and offered up recommendations for places to visit.
Spa was nice, a little bit small but again, very clean and relaxing. One of the best massages I've had, although I don't think my boyfriend thought it was much better than a $50 massage at one of those scary places. :)
I did have a few complaints though.
Spa: My boyfriend cut his face using the cheapo razors they had in the spa cut like crazy. After paying $125 on massages, it'd be nice if they had better products in the dressing areas. Also, a cool plunge pool would be nice addition to the jaccuzi they had.
Rooms: smelled a little like mellow or something. We lit a candle the entire time we were in the room but only I noticed the smell (my boyfriend didn't mind....figures.)
Also, the kitchen is nicely equipped but they give you water and a few cans of Pepsi and bottle of wine as part of your resort fee (which is mandatory). They only gave us 2 bottles of water a day, I would have liked more. Also, they should have a small bottle of olive oil or something since their pans were not the non-stick kind and you don't exactly remember to bring w/ you a entire bottle of cooking oil. They did have plenty of silverware, salt and pepper, paper towels, all the dishes you'd need, etc.
In a few years when their newly planted vineyard starts growing, it'll add a nice touch to the resort we enjoyed very much!
2** at best. Not because it was a total dive, rather what you expect vs. what you get. I don't know of any 4 star resort located in a business park on the outskirts of town. If you are familiar with Napa and know that this is clearly out of the norm.
Now from the looks of things you have a decent hotel- if you are from the mid west and don't know any better, you will have and enjoyable time. The best way I can describe this Indian casino look-alike establishment is that its not designed for the locals or those from the bay area. This is a Shell Beach timeshare location and should be avoided at all costs.
The build out is extremely cheap.. Why are there no cupboard doors under the sink? While lying in bed it presents a less than desirable view of the plumbing. Also, there is a flood light that beams directly on your head from the beds as well; fortunately a dimmer switch is present so you will avoid sunburn. Decorations are hokey, outside of our window/patio we had a view of several air conditioning units and a trailer/classroom where daily seminars are given for the "time share" snafu.
Hey if you aren't expecting to be in the heart of the valley, there is no real problem with this place. Keep the expectations low, don't gripe about the $20.00 resort fee (which is a really joke) and fill the car up with a tank of gas as you'll be driving everywhere.
My recommendation if you are on a budget, go location not pseudo glitz and stay at the Railway Inn located in the heart of Yountville. Location location location..
Amazing. This resort was about $100 cheaper than anything else we looked at with similar amenities, and I think far exceeded the more expensive options as well. We stayed in a one bedroom king suite - jacuzzi tub, fireplace, full kitchen, huge shower, and a large balcony. The staff were all friendly and helpful, there is a shuttle that goes to all of the downtown Napa restaurants, and they even provide a bottle of wine (as well as bottled water and soft drinks, amazingly, at no charge!) as a welcome gift.
We didn't have a chance to check out the underground cave where they do wine tasting, but everything else was great!
A nice stay of you're visiting on the cheap and if aging bed and breakfast amenities aren't your thing. If you're traveling with kids, I think it would be perfect.
**** Brand new construction of quality materials (wood, granite, marble)
**** The grounds are pleasant
**** Great pool, jacuzzi
**** In-room DVD player, refrigerator, laundry, etc
**** Super soft bed is hard to emerge from in the morning
* Extra thin walls for when you like to hear other guests conversations
** No, really. So thin you can mute your TV and still hear the dialogue from your neighbors room
** Restaurant serving Applebee's quality food at 3x the prices
* It's in the city of Napa... Clearly not the best location in Napa Valley.

Spent two nights here and could definitely return. The beds are decent, bathrooms are pretty big. Big bonus was that you have a refrigerator and microwave so you can go out and have leftovers the next day. Didn't check out the pool.
Staff was nice. The concierge was a bit off.... when I stepped up to ask about somewhere to eat she kept asking the people behind me if they needed anything that would be quick and kept interrupting me to see what they needed. She ended up recommending and Italian place which was good, but she seemed to send everyone there was was kind of odd....
Otherwise no complaints. Nice location, with a shuttle to down town. Not in the middle of everything but not too far out. Isolated just enough to be perfect.
Also I didn't like being peddled the Shell Vacations club as soon as I walked in. (which I read on http://pissedconsumer.com is a huge rip off)
All Around we fell in love. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite and it was amazing, the wine is so good, free wine, water, soda in your room. Managers special tasting on Thursday and Fridays, with yummy food , cheese, and wine!
Honestly we just live 30 minutes away and this was amazing, we already rebooked for fourth of july and can't wait to go back for 4 days!
Amazing!"
Yep, the hotel is part of a larger resort but seems to still keep its own identity. And it's in a business park but it's far away enough from the businesses that you feel cozy and separate from the crazy world you just escaped.
The lobby is nice and spacious with a huge fireplace, lots of seats and couches and they serve complimentary tea and coffee every morning. There's a business center with two computers (I'm typing on one now) and a couple of pools with spas, lounge chairs and bocce ball courts (!).
The rooms are nice. I'm staying in a ground floor room with two full size beds, a couple of closets, wet bar, microwave, LCD TV and patio with two chairs and a table. The bathroom is spacious with a huge tub/shower. You almost need a ladder to climb into the tub.
It looks like the hotel is new or recently updated. Everything is modern and clean. They even give you a free bottle of wine from their Estate winery which is behind the hotel. Definitely make a stop in there. They give you a free tasting and waive the tasting fee if you buy a bottle. It's cozy and in a cave-like setting. There's also a spa in there. And it's open until 7pm everyday! What winery stays open that late??
I'd come back here the next time I'm in Napa. And be sure to negotiate on room rates. You can always do that at hotels. The prices aren't set in stone. (Just a general suggestion from a former hotel employee...).
I picked this place because I wanted a big room with a kitchen, fireplace and spa/soaker tub with tv visible from the water. Vino Bello had all three, plus room service! We were not planning on any wine tastings, so that was not a consideration.
The Bad:
(1) Totally in a corporate park. Even having read the reviews and anticipating the location, we were a little shocked driving up.
(2) View from our room was not great.
(3) I had the worst time trying to get someone to answer a few questions for me over the phone prior to booking. Totally ridiculous that a place advertising itself as a "resort" would have such poor phone service (and such a bad website).
(4) No decanter?! The guy at the front desk had to call someone else and check before getting back to me with a big "no". (The place gives you a bottle of red when you check in, keep in mind. Besides ... this is wine country!)
(5) Bring your own products! The shampoo/condish situation is Super8 quality. No bubble bath or liquid soap for the tub (luckily, I brought my own).
(6) Wine Cave is more of a gift/souvenir store than it is a bar. Closes very early. Did not use the spa but it looked small.
The Good:
(1) Fireplace switches on with a flip (was rainy and cold the weekend we were there, so this was really nice.)
(2) TV totally visible from the tub! We got a 1 br and were very satisfied with the size of the room and the two flat-screens.
(3) Comfy bed and spa robes (though no spa slippers)
(4) Tub was large and well-positioned to see the tv. Shower was really nice. (I mention this twice b/c it was so killer)
(5) Room service was not too spendy and was delicious! We put leftovers in the fridge and had them for brunch in the AM.
(6) Although it was rainy and cold, the pool area(s) looked nice.
All in all, it was a really nice room in a decent hotel. Calling this place a "resort" is sort of a stretch, but not too far off. If I was coming to Napa for the first time, I would be disappointed. If I wanted a big room for a family with kids, this place seems prime. For our purposes (romantic evening) it worked out just fine.
I blocked rooms here for my wedding and ALL of the rooms were scattered. NOT ONE of the rooms were next to each other, and we were all scattered among different buildings. Also, there are hidden resort and water fees. Unbelievable! I would NOT suggest anyone blocking rooms here for an event or wedding. The property itself was nice and new, but not worth the headache and poor service at the front desk.
Not a bad stay. The suite/room was nicely furnished, and the hotel had easy access to the vineyards of Napa Valley (albeit, not as easy as a B&B located in St. Helena, but good enough). On the downside? The parking situation is terrible -- Saturday night, we were faced with parking in the street or parking about a fifth of a mile from the room. Seemed unreasonable, given the price of the hotel.
