"Nice/cute matre d', great ambiance, nice wine, organic hummus, free-range birds, and friendly waiters. Hey, hey- why the crummy reviews?"
i guess i'm one of the few who liked this place more with the old owners. It was real Brooklyn pizza in a neighborhood starved of authenticity. No disrespect to the new guys who have done an admirable job since they took over.
WTF is vegan pizza.
I'm giving it 4 stars because they have consistently shown up at the door with my large pepperoni pizza every week for the past 4 years even though they got rid of the medium pie and raised their prices, they still make the best slice in the area. Huzzah to Vinnie's.

I think I need some math for this one:
Vegan pizza: Pretty good! Lots of fun choices, like barbeque "chicken", spinach and "feta", or roasted veggie. 4 stars.
Cheesey pizza: Meh. I can barely remember it. 2 stars.
Prices: Honestly, terrible. $4.50 for a slice of vegan pizza? And $5.50 for that not-so-big vegan spinach roll? 2 stars.
Vegan whoopie pies: A MILLION STARS! How the hell did they make that so fluffy and creamy and life changingly wonderful?! Seriously, eating that thing was the best 3 minutes of my life.
Service: Thanks, dude! You were cool. 5 stars.
Overall, 4 stars. I'd go back, if only for some vegan dessert!

I probably eat Vinnie's about once a week and I could probably eat it six more times. Their crust is perfect, their sauce is deliciously tangy, and I love what they do with mushrooms, ricotta, and garlic. YUM. I have also ordered their house salad, which is also tasty, fresh, and generous. I have only had full pizzas delivered, so I can't comment on the quality of their slices. If you are in the market for a high quality pizza delivered by a friendly face, Vinnie's is the place to call.

Chicken tortilla pizza? HIGHLY questionable. I really wanted to like this place as a plausible alternate to Anna Maria's, but none of their slices really looked that good. Not enough to make me go back anytime soon.
Vinnie's has awesome crust, tons of vegan options like bbq chickun slices and chocolate moon pie things, plus super-friendly guys behind the counter. Definitely worth checking out--even if it means going out of your way.
The regular cheese pizza is sub par.
HOWEVER
Everything else is well above average.
The staff (unlike other bk pizza joints) is really friendly.
It's my "go to" pizza place in the burg.
I like a number of things about this place. One , is that the change of ownership has breathed new life into this Bedford ave classic pizza joint and italian kitchen. The new pies toppings are really good.
Treat a hungry tummy to a buffalo chicken and bleu cheese .
OR the bbq chicken and tortellini is incredible.
The dinners are pretty darn good , as well.
Plus, plus, plus it doesn't hurt that the staff is really cool and a tad foxy.
Okay, since this is obviously a shameless plug for a business I like...
tell 'em mousey sent you , so that maybe they'll make a hillbilly pizza for me. hmmmm.

When I was a sad drunk vegan stumbling through the cold night Vinnies took me in and fed me. Open super late for your pleasure! The vegan slices are out of this world! And the non-vegan ones look delicious as well.
Great dudes, great food.

Last night, one of the many super amazing dudes at Vinnie's gave my roommate and I free garlic knots with our vegan pizza. My roommate, the ever-skeptic, asked "are these vegan?" and the man behind the counter boomed back with a resounding YES. This is THE place to go for vegan pizza, donuts and cookies late night, cheap and on-the-run. You'll leave full, happy, and with a dollar to spare.
I love Vinnie's, great neighborhood pizza place. The other pizza joint on Bedford ave. by the L train just can't compare - at all.
The guys behind the counter are friendly and very funny. Large variety off slices. While I'm not vegan by any means, its pretty cool how they've catered to the locals and created several vegan slices/dishes.
I didn't get to try the pizza, but they also serve Italian ice for a mere $1. I found the handsome fella behind the counter to be quite a charmer, good place to go ladies, if you're looking to have a flirty pick me up.

Oh, Vinnies. Thank you for filling my belly with delicious pizza and laughter.
Sure, we can all rave and rave about the veggie and vegan options and the strange pizzas that they go out on a culinary limb to serve, and that's fine. It's awesome pizza...that's all I have to say.
But, let's for a moment talk about the REAL genius of this place. As you leave the establishment, to the left of the door inside, is a trash can, like any other trashcan. But no...look closer.
Some wise-guy has put a period between the "T" and the "H" on "THANKS" which makes it say "T.HANKS," and beside, they've pasted a photograph of a young Tom Hanks, looking sassy.
I don't know why I think this is so funny. Maybe because it's indicative of a creativity that I appreciate. I could have looked at that THANKS a million times and never come to that conclusion. I regularly stop by with friends to show them the sign and it works for Vinnies, because we always end up getting a slice or two.

Awesome slices here. This is a great, old school little pizzeria with a humorous trash can and the typical scuzzy decor. The crust is cooked just right and the slices are cut big and piled heavily with toppings.
A great late night option or hangover remedy, just as it should be. I love you, Vinnie's.
Vinnie's has recently been taken over by a couple of young entrepreneurs with a zeal for the extravagant. Meaning: they have some pretty wild ideas of what constitutes a slice. This is a good thing if you're vegan, because they always have one vegan pizza ready by the slice.

Under new management these 2 mass dudes and one li dude got together to make a good pizza place great. They are now open until 3am and have VEGAN PIZZA and VEGAN GARLIC KNOTS. The service is top notch, youll have a hard time not wanting to take the time to get to know the staff. New veggie hangout in billyburg.

This is a great little place to stop and grab a slice if you're in the area. The slices are thin and yummy like NY pizza should be - my only complaint is that they should heat them up a bit more before serving them - I like it hot, not warm.

Vinnie's is head and shoulders above Anna Maria, not to mention far less filled with attitude. (Unfortunately, they don't stay open until 3am like Anna Maria's.) The pizza is delicious, as are any of their hot heroes, or their super-garlicky garlic knots. And, they have a 99 cent ATM on the premises.

Vinnie's is the only great place for vegans to get pizza in NYC. I've seen up to five different vegan slices offered at once (all of them awesome), plus vegan calzones, garlic knots, and now several kinds of cookies. The guys who work there are always incredibly nice, and their vegan and non-vegan slices are the most creative I've seen anywhere. Highly recommended.

This was my first slice in NY. I was so pleased by the service. They couldn't be friendlier. My friend was even able to get a vegan slice. You get a lot for your buck! My specialty slice with feta, tomato, and spinach was PILED HIGH. Delicious.
I do agree with Heather D, though. They should definitely heat them up more.
Usually when I wanted pizza, I just went to "Next Please!" (aka Anna Maria) The problem is, although they're good, after eating them, you basically don't need to eat again for 3-5 days.
Vinnie's is more traditional Brooklyn-style pizza, and it's damn good. Whenever I want a plain pie, Vinnie's is the place to go. Unfortunately, it's pretty far from my apartment, so it's always cold by the time I get home. I should get one of those delivery sleeves, or something. (They don't deliver to my place, either.)
The enchilada slice is great - looks and tastes like someone dropped their nachos on a pizza crust.
Vinnie's, a mainstay in Williamsburg long before the hipster revolution swept through the northern part of Bedford avenue, is hands down the best place to get a slice in the neighborhood. Vinnie's very recently changed owners, and the new owners, three hardworking young men with the perfect combination of ambition, tradition, and culinary creativity, are now at the helm. Old favorites like the classic cheese, sicilian, and chicken garlic tomato slices are still there, but with fresh new additions like black bean avocado with feta (SO good), chicken barbeque with bacon, fresh mozzerella/basil/portobello, and many more to come. They also are introducing vegan slices to their menu, so there is truly no excuse not to walk a block and a half past anna maria's and check out (or simply re-visit) the 'new' vinnies. Also, on weekends they'll be open late, so after you can satisfy your cravings then too.
I predict big things for this old-but-renewed spot. definitely come down and check it out, talk to the new owners, and have a slice or 2. The pizza is so damn good....their slices are addicting. and you don't have to use a knife and fork to eat it. Yum. come down and check it out - chances are you may see me there feeding my vinnie's addiction.
