Vinnie's specializes in super thin-crust pizza by the slice with unusual toppings, many of which are vegan. The decore is simple, with a handful of booths. Here are a few examples of their unique pizzas:

-Vegan BBQ "Chicken" Pizza
-Spaghetti & Meatballs Pizza
-Buffalo Chicken & Blue Cheese Pizza

There are usually 6-10 options of by-the-slice, wich a few stalwarts that are always available and then a rotating range of crazier, more unusual ones (like the Spaghetti & Meatballs one).

All gourmet slices are $4 and take just a few minutes to prepare. The crust will be slightly crunchy and just the right temperature when they're done heating it up.

A lot of people compare this place to Anna Maria's (two blocks south on Bedford). However, what these people are missing is that they are such different places. Think of Vinnie's as hipster-y and experimental while Anna Maria's is more traditional and "Italian" (even though it's run by a Spanish-speaking staff).

This place is like reading Tolstoy at 2:30 AM on a Saturday- All show, no fulfilment.

I gave this place a few chances because of the insane 5 star reviews.
Havent any of them ever been to Anna Marias down the block, What a superior sauce she has to this Vinnie garbage, or as we say in Italian, "gar-baage"

They have a specialty slice selection as any NYC pizza spot should, but the #1 barometer of Pizza for me is the regular slice, and here- it just is bland and has inferior foldability.

Remember I am rating this as a carniverous NY half-Italian, and its as good as Valdiano up the block and has a very reticent and boring late night scene.

Im a fun of late night pizzeria jump-offs, if ima get my drink on, then ima get my pizza on, and when ima get my pizza on ima get my talk to other drunk girls gettin they pizza on-even if its dat vegan jump off.

Thank you for the warm welcome, Vinnie's.

My boyfriend and I came here the night after moving in to my new apartment in Brooklyn. I was afraid of spending a lot of money for dinner and not knowing where to go, but thanks to Yelp, I found this gem.

We got a slice of macaroni and cheese pizza which maybe we had overhyped, but we were disappointed with. The elbows were a little too al dente and the texture was off. We also got a slice of the tortellini which was MY favorite and a slice of chicken bacon ranch, which my boyfriend preferred. We also got garlic knots (5 for $1!).

It was little disappointing that they don't take credit since BOA is much easier to find in Boston than Brooklyn and I'm cashless often these days, but I'll get over it.

Service was super friendly. We had a girl who pretty much sold us on everything. I don't know how we eventually said no.

We went back twice that weekend. And by twice, I mean we ordered there a second time and then got a small pizza delivered when we realized we hadn't had enough Vinnie's.

Definitely the best pizza in the neighborhood--one slice of their Mac Attack or other specialty pizzas will fill you up, and at $4 each, it better. The vegan pizza is fine--it's why a lot of folks end up here, but the meat pizzas show a creative streak rarely found in slice shops in NYC. Toppings can include pasta, bacon, avocado, ranch dressing, buffalo chicken, etc. The pizzas genius in this place is inspired.

If you just want a cheese pie, they offer than, too, for $15. But if you want a cheaper "plain" pie check out Eden on 7th and Bedford for $10 for a pie of $1.25 per slice.

Mmmmm, my dear friend Anna H. lives in Williamsburg and took me here. Gosh, was it amazing. I knew I was in heaven when I walked in and saw the huge Dharma Initiative recruitment sign. Done.

The pizzeria itself is very charming and I couldn't decide on what to get. I finally decided on TWO slices of pizza because there were so many options. I landed on the Buffalo Chicken slice and the macaroni and cheese slice. (The combination of the 2 I would like to dub "Delicious Heartburn Surprise")

No, seriously, they were delicious and huge and not that expensive. Specialty slices are usually too expensive to even try but these were pretty reasonable. The crust was very crispy and it was really loaded up. I never felt like it was going to break from the load of the toppings.

I'm going to go back and happily eat ANOTHER 2 slices. Mmm.

My first adventure into Brooklyn, and I require pizza.  Easy, they say, lets hit up Vinnie's.

GOOD CALL, this is why we're friends.  Mac and Cheese pizza FTW.  Seriously a glorious way to kickstart the evening.  Crunchy, cheesy, filling.  Perfect.

The staff is great, the pizza amazing, and talk about location.  So necessary.  Everyone loved whatever slice they got, and I will DEFINITELY be back next time I am out on the East Coast.

T.HANKS Vinnie's.

My vegan friend who lives in Brooklyn recommended this place to me (I am however DEFINITELY a meat eater, so I was a bit skeptical). BUT, this place was better than I could have imagined.

After a couple hours at the Brooklyn brewery, my friend and I decided that we were in desperate need of some pizza. Of course, Vinnie's is close by and we stopped in on the way back to the city. We ended up getting the mac and cheese pizza and avocado and black bean pizza. BOTH were DELICIOUS. Obviously not your traditional pizzas, but both were incredible. Both had great texture from the toppings and the pizza itself was nice and crispy. We had a hard time deciding which one we liked better. To this day...I don't think I can even choose. Can't wait to try some of their other crazy sounding slices!

My heart hurts as I write this because I sit here in my apartment in Long Beach, CALIFORNIA knowing that I'm more than 2700 miles away.  BAH.  I had the lovely pleasure of going to this lovely establishment two times in one week.  I almost creamed myself in the 2 person booth the first time I had the Avacado and Black Bean slice.  Had a plain slice too, and that was lovely as well.
There was one guy (who I think was the owner) was SOOO NICE.  We went in there the first time and he was so appreciative of us searching out Vinnies.  The second time we went, he said "Welcome Back".  WHAT...it was like CHEERS!
I love Vinnies!
EEK, I almost forgot!!!!! VEGAN DESSERTS!!! Brooklyn...why are you so far?

I have eaten several good slices from here.  And while admire their willingness to put pretty much anything you can think of on a pizza, I think some of their combinations seem more entertaining in theory than in practice.  I thought the tortellini pizza was cute, but failed to execute, the honey-dijon slice they had was kinda tasty though.  I had a spinach specialty slice that was also really good as is their plain slice.

Basically my allegiance lies with the spot up the block, but if I'm looking for something vegan or a slice that has something really unexpected/borderline bizarre in the pizza realm, I'm going to come here.

Don't you just love the people here? There's no other place like this. I have funny, great interactions with these people every time I go in there. This pizzeria has more personality than any other restaurant in Williamsburg.

The pizza is good and the price is right. Specialty slices are yummy and really inventive. On the other hand, the simpler, the better. A slice of cheese from this place is heaven. Delivery takes a while, but it gets to your door super-hot and fresh.

The best vegan pizza ever. These guys are so creative in the pies they make and they share the creativity with their vegan pies. I take my carnivorous friends here all the time and even they agree that the vegan slices are better than any other pizza they have tasted.

They also have Vegan Treats donuts on every Vegan Treats Tuesday!

All I can say is, GO NOW. RUN AND BUY PIZZA RIGHT NOW!

Love this place! The pizza is good and well-priced, and the interior has a classic, cozy NYC feel to it. Grab a booth and a slice and a fountain coke and just relax and enjoy the atmosphere. If you don't want to shell out for the more expensive places to eat in the neighborhood, Vinny's is a great option and a quintessential Williamsburg hangout. Go there!

Found this shack through Yelp, looking for pizza while exploring Williamsburg on my trip to NYC. Only stopped in here the one time, but if I lived in Williamsburg or Greenpoint, I'd definitely be a regular. A single slice went down like heaven. Not a lot of seating, but most people were getting go orders or dining in for a single slice or two.

Sounds like they're opening a 2nd location soon, so if it's as good as the first, they might be building a little pizza empire here!

Also, i have no proclivities towards Vegan or Vegetarian, but if this place abides by those guidelines, that's even better. WTG Vinnie's!!

This place is awesome.  Seriously, it's awesome. This place and the turkey's nest defined my weekends for a while when I was seeing a Brooklyn girl.  The pizza is really good. I've had 3 different types.  The Chicken Quesadilla pizza is insane! The Mac Attack is also insane.  The buffalo chicken is good, but not insane.  Place is awesome, check it out.

Walking towards the subway station from the Girl Talk show this summer, I noticed a small chalkboard sign saying Vinnie's was just around the corner.  In no hurry, we decided to give it a try...only to see a gargantuan line.  Lines are good, right?

I had been to several New York pizza places earlier that week and I thought--nothing to brag about.  Vinnie's is what changed my mind.  I ordered a macaroni and cheese (with bacon!) slice and a barbecue chicken slice.  It was amazing.

First of all, macaroni and cheese pizza.  With bacon!  Is that enough to convince you?  And second, though you may think it's nothing to snuff about, the barbecue chicken pizza.  I'm not typically a fan of that, but it was a good choice.  And thin crust!  I'm a Chicagoan who loves thin crust and have trouble finding one that meets my standards.  This definitely does...and for cheap.

One of the things I was most impressed about is Vinnie's offers a wide variety of slices.  It even has 100% vegan options.  I'm a meat lover, so I didn't really look into that, but I was incredibly impressed.  The joint was busy but the guys working at the front were all really nice, and tried to work it as fast as they could--and I think that was just fine.

My only complaint?  Seating was limited (for the large crowd we had..I mean, the line was out of the door).  I also think the crowd wanted to eat it there as we were all ready to scarf down some delicious pizza after dancing and sweating throughout the concert.

Next time I come back to New York, I have to go to Brooklyn for this place.  I love nothing more than supporting local business.

Excellent slice place that is a true/authentic Brooklyn pizzeria.  Outside of a few of the hipster accoutrements that it's taken on over recent years, the inside is 100% authentic old school.  The slices themselves are great.  Nice crust and perfect cheese and sauce.

I didn't have any of the "fancier" slices, but they seemed good...  Well at least some of them...  They sure are creative with the toppings on some of the slices!  So much so it seems like a few combos are actually jokes.  But whatever.  The place is great and highly recommended for a a simple slice.

This is my favorite pizza place of all time. The slices are great, and the service is even better.
The owners are super nice guys, who, when I told them I needed to lose weight, and wouldn't be coming around much cause I decided to give up pizza, told me they would help me out by not letting me order any, and making me a custom salad every night.
The place is full of little surprises like the famous T.Hanks sign on the garbage can.
Give this place a shot. You won't regret it.

First, Vinnie's makes a great plain slice. I would recommend buying a whole pie for yourself or sharing. It's very good straight out of the oven.

I ate the BBQ chicken pizza and it was one of the best I had ever had. Next time I come here I am eating the black bean pizza, eggplant and the mac and cheese. My friends had all of the above and they loved it as well.

I like when pizza is topped with great ingredients and the crust does not get soggy and the toppings are so hot with too much it slides off. Won't happen at Vinnie's.

Monday pizza night with Monday night football, a great combo.

Last, they have gelato, yay!

Vinnie's is great for what it is--an over-the-top, inauthentic perversion of pizza. I'm usually a fan of the simple, back-to-basics style of pizza, but I totally enjoyed my slices of huevos rancheros pizza (beans, cheddar, tomato, avocado. fried egg) and eggplant parm.

They also offer solid vegan pizza. For the first time, I didn't feel the urge to gag upon eating soy cheese. Service is fast and friendly, prices are great, portions gargantuan.

The Tom Hanks trash can also gave me a good giggle.

This is for when you're like, "you know what, I don't want authentic Italian-American Neapolitan-style pizza.  I want my pizza to resemble buffalo wings, or nachos."  Or for when you're drunk.

They also modifed their garbage bin to say "T.HANKS" instead of "THANKS," complete with a photo of a "Bosom Buddies" era Tom Hanks, and watching my friend Kate giggle uncontrollably at it is worth it every time.

Still unimpressed... now different reasons.

Service was great..made up for last time. Pizza tasted good - but why exactly did I pay $4 for crust, minimal marinara sauce and veggies on top. I opted vegan with no cheese or even soy cheese. Price seemed steep for what I got. Had the pizza been oozing with marinara sauce, the slice would have been delish and worth the $$. Instead it was like so sparingly applied, the marinara was dried up leaving quite a dry slice of veggie bread.

Amazing Vegan Pizza, Creative Options, Garlic Knots, Vegan Sauage Rolls, and Vegan treats. This is how you do it my friends and one of the coolest vibes makes Vinnie's a must go.

Rant, I'm going to be bias here, as someone who has decided to live the vegan lifestyle, I really appreciate when an food establishment pushes itself to create wonderful items that are non-animal based because it so goes against the fundamentals of America. I'm not hating on meat-eaters, last year I was your protypcial meat eater, but our current society doesn't quite know how to deal with people who don't want hamhocks cooking with the collard greens. Mother!

Pizza is the same way, cheese is really good and extra cheese on pizza, anyway, what I really have come to like about NY as I have traveled there this year, is that food made without animal products is judged on the basis of how good and creative it is, nothing more and nothing less. Vinnie's treats it vegan pies no different than the others so it becomes an issue of the quality of the food and not some tree-hugging statement. Being Vegan doesn't mean being weird or anti-social and neither should the food. If I want a BBQ chicken pie, I'm glad I can get one.

Vinnie's has a lot of creative slices but they come with a steep price tag ($4.00). I like the black bean avocado slice. It's worth the $4.00.

Friendly, helpful staff. Garlic knots 4 or 5/$1.00. They always have a ton of vegan options if you're into that.

Absolutely beautiful pizza experience for the exhausted and/or drunk.  Perhaps even for the horribly sober.*

Look for the most recently baked - "young" - pies.  Some of the more "mature" pies on the rack may get a bit "juicy" in the crust and become rather "floopy" and require the aid of plastic utensils - which may downgrade your social status in the eyes of your peers and neighbors - unless you are willing to soil at least eight out of ten digits - which may or may not down-/upgrade your social status in the eyes of your peers and neighbors.

I gladly utilized a pair of plastic utensils to operate on my chicken & broccoli slice that was perhaps baked a few hours before Janelle Monae took the stage at Music Hall and I surely felt the penetrating eyes and heard the murmurs of disapproval not only from within the Pizzeria, but also from Bedford Ave.

* I'll find out at some point and update this review.

Forget the food for a second - the guys who work there are all hilarious and pretty good-looking.

The pizza?   The vegan BBQ chicken pizza is totally unreal.  A must-get if you're torn between slices.  The vegan sausage roll is also pretty good and really filling.  Make sure you get some sauce on the side cause it can be dry at times.

I mostly stop in for the vegan treats like the Boston Cream donuts.  They come in Tuesday afternoons so if you're hoping for some, don't stop in after Wednesday night.  The vegan oatmeal/chocolate chip cookies are massive and delicious.

Vegan or non-vegan, you're going to find a few things to love about Vinnie's.

I'm from California so it's strange to find a delicious New York pizzeria that doesn't have "New York" advertised all over it like where I'm from. It's refreshing to find a pizzeria that tastes amazing and offers an impressive selection of vegan pizzas. I ordered a few pizzas here and while I scramble to remember the names, I do recall these slices all had at least three ingredients in them besides the cheese and sauce. The sauce is rich and hot; and I believe was what made the pizza very tasty.

Some pizzas are not necessarily great but others are to die for. As one reviewer suggests, you risk with experimenting and once you find a type you enjoy, you stick to it like tape. Italian Ices are refreshing too though the sweet vanilla with hard chocolate chips was way too awkward of a combination. Stick with the fruit.

The staff gave me free sauce and pizza bread to dunk it in. They gave me a reason which I cannot recall, something having to do with giving me a small pizza. (The size of my pizza seemed fine.) The whole staff was friendly and reflects the morale of the pizzeria as I enjoyed spending time here.

I love their vegan pizza! And when I am in the mood to indulge in the dairy side of life I typically go on the days they have Spagetaboutit pizza. Pizza with spaghetti is what it's all about! The chicken parm, buffalo chicken w/blue cheese, blackbean nacho are all notable as well. They have great garlic knots too! Giving them a four, because the crust is a little floury and dry. Oh! And they have rootbeer, along with many other varieties of drinks to quench your thirst, which I love because most places only have a few drinks to pick from! This is a the perfect, cheap Friday night meal!
