I can say a whole lot of about food--but maybe not soo much with eyebrow threading :)
Either way, Vinitas is awesome. I've been here a grand total of 4 times and I don't think I'll ever go anywhere else. The girls here are very gentle and meticulous with their work.
I have walked into many eyebrow threading bars bushy--and have walked out with thin Clara Bow eyebrows, bloody, swollen, itchy, crooked or all the above. Each time--swearing off threading (and mostly Ziba). But I always walk out of Vinitas with sculpted brows and a happy camper.
Vinita's is super cheap and they even offer a stamp card. I couldn't ask for more :)
I just love this place sooo much. So, I've been back quite a few times, but since I come right after work, Wendy's never there. But I found someone else...!! Number 7 is awesome. I'm so sorry, I kept forgetting her name, it's terrible of me, but she's just so great. I always go for her even if I have to wait for her. And the wait is never long... =)
Vinitas, if you're reading, please please please don't raise prices on me and turn into Ziba. I like going here, and you're just perfect. Good price, good quality... =)

I Finally found a place that i can actually keep coming back to.... I have been coming to Vinita's for a couple of months now and i love it... Lori is that lady that dose my eyebrows and she's great!!! She listens to you when given directions... Usually when i get my brows done they are done too thin... But with Lori, its ALWAYS just right....
Best of all the price... brows + upper lip= $11.99
They are usually very busy, so be prepared to wait....But at least they have enough chairs for you all to wait in...
I LOVE this place!!! I drive from Alhambra to Cerritos, just to get my eyebrows down by Manisha (i think that is how you spell it). I have been going to Vinitas for the last 2 years or so. When it comes to my eyebrows, I am sooooo Picky. Manisha never lets me down. She is absolutely the best.
$11 for upper lip and eyebrows....how could you go wrong???!!!
People should never call their eyebrows "bushes." Because the image that I get is NOT the eyebrow. Teehee.
So yes, there are some talented threaders here, and I loooove getting my eyebrows threaded here. Ekta and Girl At Station #4 are both very good, and I love that they have a card like one you would get at a boba shop where you get stamped with each visit. You also get free threading if you refer three friends, and all this other stuff. Good promotional use.
I have always been satisfied with the service, and wait time is never long if I just walk in. You can always sit there and become engrossed with the crazy Indian soap operas they play... holy moly, there were a few times that I totally did not hear my name because I was too busy staring at the screen and wondering if the daughter who sold her family's prize jewels and ran off with that guy who impregnated her would EVER be forgiven by her mother who is the head of the household and has all the family money in some safe that only she knows the combination to.
In short, a great place. :) Eyebrow threading is ONLY 6.99, and you get a nice lotion massage on your brows afterward. Mmmm, relaxing.

I know this place has a million reviews so I will keep it short....
Started going to Vinitas about 3 years ago but then my threader left and I started going to Ziba's in the Mall. The Mall seemed more convenient and it gave me an excuse to stop by Nordstrom's every couple of weeks but then the prices started to rise. At first I didn't care and kept going to Ziba but then my regular threader left and I started to realize I was paying a small fortune every 10 days. This adds up! So needless to say I went back to Vinitas and I am a happy camper! At $6.99 for brows and a few other touch ups here and there I am still out of there for less then $15 including tip! Yay!
Asmita is a gem but she is off on Wednesdays and doesn't get there until after 5 during the week. I may be trying someone new soon so I will keep you posted!

I heart Asmita, station #5. She is a beautiful threading goddess hair removal queen and I will bow to her shrine nightly as the depilatory gods shine a golden light on my perfectly shaped brows of enlightenment. Her day off is Wednesday and did I mention I love her and she is perfect? Oh wait hmmm just kidding the wait for her can be atrocious sometimes yeah nevermind she sucks pretty much right mmmmkay?
p.s. no stars for the evil scalping sadist at station #2. I foolishly went to her twice in goddess Asmita's absence and got some serious road rash invisible scab action that required Costco size proportions of Neosporin. See pic... she enjoys inflicting pain ow ow ow...

this is the only place i get my eyebrows done- i've been a threading junky since early highschool. First it started off at Sona Chaandi then it went to Lin Beauty Salon in Artesia. Then to Ziba in Artesia, then to Ziba in Cerritos.
I don't remember what pushed me to make the switch, but the price was a nice incentive. The price at Ziba went up in the Cerritos mall- it used to be $9 now its $11 or $12. Not including tip! Greedy much? The last time i went to Ziba i got a trainee- who made one of my eyebrows smaller than the other. and i had to get a professional to step in and do them properly. And it was super painful...
Onto Vinitas, the price is 6.99 for standard eyebrow threading, and it's very conveniently located near my house. The girls there are pretty nice and they always have some interesting Indian TV on (they had Indian Idol on last time i was there!) They have a frequent threader's card and if you get so many stamps you get your eyebrows threaded for free. It's a nice little incentive to keep coming back.
Not all the threaders here are outstanding though (hence the -1 star), you are just going to have to do process of elimination before you find one that's quick and efficient. I go to #7 and her name is Shital, i think. She's always quick and ushers me right in when i see her. She's off monday and tuesday so beware.
I have had a bad experience with #2 who took too much hair off my left eyebrow and i have been filling it in with eyeshadow ever since. Also she didnt even look me in the eye when i handed her her tip and said thank you. Rude.
I'll stick with #7, and if im in dire need to get my eyebrows done on a monday or tuesday, i'll just tough it out and wait for my girl...
I love love love this place! I'm a huge fan of Wendy (not sure which station number is her's), but the last 4 times I've gone, I never seem to catch her! I used to work around her schedule, which was usually evenings. I would call to see if she was in and I think she might of changed her schedule or something bc she's never there or is just about to leave. I just gave up because I hate driving from home up there after 5 bc of traffic and such. I subtracted one star because not everyone that threads brows is up to my standards. Wendy sets the bar for me and it took a little process of elimination to figure that out. She's gentle, quick, and makes my eyebrows look fabulously even!
The only thing I don't like about this place is how for some reason you have to hold your eyelid and lift your forehead skin. Before I became a regular at Vinitas I never had to do this. The only problem I have with it is, is that I wear liquid eyeliner and I tend to tear up from the threading....annnnnd I have bangs so they get all messed up from holding them back for so long. (which sucks bc I can't go out in public after my eyeliner is smeared and my bangs look like "there's something about mary...")
I don't know many of the women's names by heart because they are either hard to pronounce or I just don't ask. I just know a lot of the other women have hurt me by threading too slow or have left hair behind (which I notice by the time I get home). It's like with any beauty procedure...some experts have a heavy hand, while others are gentle.
The waiting area needs a little help. The chairs are too close together and it's kind of akward just sitting there having to watch t.v. in a different language. I do like the incentives of having a stamp card. One time I did forget it at home and they would not combine cards when I brought both of them back. I don't understand why? It's not like I'm cheating them because they could just combine them and tear/toss the other card in the trash. It's kind of lame because people do forget things and it sucks not getting credit for it. Overall, I am happy with this place....I just need to get Wendy's schedule and everything will be fine and dandy =)
Wanted to cry when i got out of there!!!!!!
My gf had taken me there to get my eyebrows done, said they did a really good job. So i trusted her and decided to go get them done. Worse mistake ever. I hated them, they were so thin and that is not the worse part, now that they are growing back they are so terrible. I don't even want to go out in public. The sad part is that i have to let them grown out so i can go get them fixed. I'm never going there again.
I'm sticking to

affordable and well done. finally a place i can go to that isn't gonna cost me twice as much
I love this place... I've been going here for atleast 6 years now getting my eyebrows done by Komal (She's the 2nd person starting from the right in the top row, aww so pretty!). They used to be $4.99 when they first opened..but they now have gone up to $6.99. Forget the hype of ZIBA, Vinitas is affordable and better! I get compliments over and over about my eyebrows.. Check out my photos on yelp, Komal does my eyebrows! Those pictures is the actual truth of how she does my eyebrows.. I'm a satisfied customer of Komal's for 6 years now... Luv ya Komal (I know you know who this is!).. She does a excellent job on my eyebrows.. and will continue to go to this place..I enjoy watching the indian soap operas while waiting. Make sure you grab a stamp card.. Everytime you go in, show the card for every visit and they will stamp it. Once you get to the 10th stamp, your 11th visit of eyebrow threading will be free!
Yours Truly,
A true FAN of Vinitas for 6 years now
Vinita's will forever in my book go down in history as the place where I first got MY BUSHES gardened. Yes, you are being nasty and you are right.. And yes, it was Brazilian... no reason to be timid--might as well graduate to full on masochism. And yes, I just admitted on Yelp that I sometimes flirt with that kind of grooming. Down, boys.
However, I'm not here to review Vinita's for their bikini waxers (BTW, high five to Lori! Ask for her if you feel the urge to have hairs ripped out of your umm... carpet! I'm sure Lori is cool too that I'm recommending more hairy vaginas to her. And maybe balls too. ouch. On second thought, I don't think Lori will appreciate the hairy balls. And guys, I don't appreciate WTF got in your mind to want to wax your balls). I'm here to rave about their threading. They do it so well for so cheap of a price and at such a quick rate I'm always left feeling I got gypped. And then I look in the mirror and notice that I can see my eyes again. Thank you Vinita's for taming my two caterpillars and my sister's unibrow.
Uhh. I don't really have caterpillars. Just so you know.

I love this spot. I have been going here for a few years and I will say I have always gone to "Number Eight". You can bring in a picture of the shape you want and she will fix you up. She is such a sweet woman as well.
Get a stamp card from them because it's pretty easy to fill up [since threading is only $6.99].
As for maintenance, I would recommend going every 1.5 weeks.

I get my eyebrows threaded here by my girl Lin, one of the only Asian ladies there and she does a awesome job. Great price and I would typically tip her more because she does a great job.

Ekta is my favorite. I've been going to her for about 1.5 yrs and she knows my eyebrows. I like my eyebrows looking as full as possible, looking natural but shaped, and Ekta does an amazing job every time. I always leave pleased. Plus, the price is very reasonable (say vs. Ziba), the staff very pleasant.
UPDATE 3/2008:
I came back here for the second time and my eyebrows looked so good afterwards that I've decided this is the best threading place I've been to. $7 and they stay looking good for over 2 weeks. Too bad it's like 20 miles from where I live :(
-------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------
I've wanted to try eyebrow threading for awhile now and decided on Vinitas for my first threading experience. I trusted my fellow Yelper's reviews and this place got pretty decent reviews. I know Ziba is the more popular choice, but I wanted to keep the cost down. I walked in, signed my name to a clipboard, and was immediately called to a station. The lady who did my brows did a really good job. I was kind of scared to look at first but they turned out better than my usual expensive eyebrow waxing. I think the whole thing took under 10 minutes and didn't hurt at all. I like that you can just walk in, be threaded, and be done in under 15 minutes. No appointment needs to be made. I'm hooked on eyebrow threading now. When I'm in the area I'll be returning here.

This was my first threading experience. I've heard of threading before, but I never knew of anyone who did it in my area. This place was 10 minutes from my workplace and was very convenient for me to go there during my lunch hour. Parking was easy and I walked right in without an appointment. They quickly set me up in a chair with Manisha and she did her thing.
It didn't hurt at all and my eyebrow area was not red and puffy afterwards like eyebrow waxing. She used lotion to rub my forehead a bit (very soothing as I was at my lunch break) and I was done! It came out just perfect, minus a few light colored hairs here and there. At $6.99 + tip, it's a price you can't beat. There was no wait and I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. I will never spend more than $10 again on eyebrow shaping! They also give you a frequent service card where you get 1 eyebrow threading free when you have 10 eyebrow threadings. Plus if you refer 3 friends, they will give you a free eyebrow threading free as well. Highly recommended!
I've been going here for years... Ever since my godson's mama said I should try it.
It's inexpensive. They have a stamp card for eyebrow threading (who can't use a free one?)
GO TO ASMITA. SHE IS THE BEST. :D

When it comes to the price of beauty I am a very low maintenance chica.
However even I must face the inevitable battle of the bushy brow and her side kick the ladystache.
In previous situations I would have just gone down to Ziba's . But that was before I discovered this helpful website. What's the name of it again? Oh yeah... Yelp!
Anyway, there came a time where I could not cope with the ladystache and bushy brows any longer and there was no way I was going back to that over packed, hit and miss, little store at the mall. I had to act fast or else drive myself crazy.
I decided to give this place a shot.
I arrived at opening time, was seated promptly, worked on promptly, and well on my way to the rest of my day.
Let me just say that Vinita's lived up to the yelp reviews!
The best part of this experience is that I learned something new. Previous experiences at Ziba left me with breakouts, redness, slightly swollen brows, and a slightly swollen upper lip. I would have to ice the suckers as soon as I got home and wear sunglasses at all times for the entire day. I hated everyone being able to tell that I just got worked on.
I simply thought that my sensitive skin was just as sensitive to threading as everything else.
At Vinita's I experienced none of the above. Can I say I see the light? And my arch too!
I used to know Vinita personally when she was just another threader at Lin's Beauty. She was good, precise, and had an artful eye. Fast forward a few years and voila - she opens her own shop (where she no longer works, perhaps she's busy running her latest shop near Laguna?).
Vinita's is ok, and that's just why I keep coming back for more. It doesn't have the mass assembly line feel of places like Sona Chaandi or the quaint, inexperienced places like the ones advertised in the Penny Saver.
The quality of the treatment you get will depend greatly on the threader. Sadly, the 2 girls I went to and trusted (Ketna and Nancy) don't work there anymore, so I don't visit as often. I believe my other girls, Asmita and Shital are still there, but I do miss Ketna.
Just make sure you tell them the shape and eyebrow hair length you want. The more specific your request, they better they can accommodate.

Unlike my husband, I love this place. They are fast, and the $6.99 price just can't be beat.
I love Komal. Randomly stumbled upon her the first time, but have been requesting her ever since. She works very little though, since she's got a 1 year old.
I had my eyebrows threaded by Komal for my wedding and my makeup artists even commented on how perfect the shapes were.
Maybe there are a few stragglers due to the speed and the lack of lighting, but nothing a pair of tweezers can't fix in a jiffy.

I went here on a Friday night and was scared of the wait as soon as I saw all the ladies waiting at the chairs. Lucky for me though, I just wanted my brows threaded and there was NO wait for that. I was fortunate to have Wendy do my brows. I definitely agree with fellow yelpers on her awesome skills. She's efficient, gentle (which was especially a plus for me since I have sensitive skin), and nice. It only cost me $7 which definitely beats the $11 they charge at ziba. I was in and out of there in 10 mins max. It was my first time there so they gave me a stamp card for me to fill up. Go there 10x and get your 11th eyebrows done for free. Refer 3 friends and you get free brow threading too!

Vinitas is pretty much the best place to get your eyebrows done, hands down! I'm not implying I've tried every salon on this planet to get my eyebrows done, BUT I've tried many salons in orange county and some in LA. Yeah yeah, not a representative sample, but trust me on this one.
I've been against waxing eyebrows ever since my friend's skin boiled and was left with hideous open wounds on PROM NIGHT. True story.
I'm not going to lie though, threading is PAIN. But what's beauty without a little pain, hm? Soooo worth it, down to every last tear drop (from the pain). I should take down the name of the girl who does my eyebrows, but I forget. All the ladies at Vinitas have had their way with me, and I've been completely satisfied for over 4 years now.

I really wouldn't go anywhere else to get my eyebrows threaded. I absolutely love getting it done here.
Manisha is my threader, and she does an excellent job. I usually just sit down and she knows what to do, and just starts doing it. And for only $6.99 as compared to getting it done at Ziba's for like $9. PLEASE!
I went to get my eyebrows threaded here on Saturday evening after reading such good reviews here on Yelp. I went to Wendy and I loved how she did my eyebrows. Honestly I use to goto ZIBA and they are just way too expensive. At Vinitas they only charge $6.99 compared to $11.00. Alsoooo there was no wait. I ALso love how they have a stamp card after the 10th visit, 11th free AND after you bring 3 people, you're eyebrows are free. I highly recommend this place. Ask for Wendy! She does an awesome job.
Eyebrow threading for 6.99! (Although I think there's a place by Sport Authority that does it for like 5.99 but I have yet to try that place yet.)
Anyways, I walked in and asked for threading, I was directed to chair #5. The aesthetician who threaded my eyebrows was a younger looking woman. She looked pleasant (smiles, doesn't look like she's disinterested, etc.), and even put antiseptic on my brows for me to cool down the redness and stinging. Overall, a good place to go!

The ladies here are so nice, threading is quick and simple and they fix it up as much as you want. $7!!!! I usually just go to who is available since they all thread really well. I have about 8 stamp cards, do they combine?
I checked out Vinitas on the strength of what my fellow YELPERS were saying about this place and I have to admit that they did NOT steer me wrong. I had been going to ziba for the past 3 years and there prices just kept getin higher and higher. So I checked out Vinitas last week and I am soooooo satisfied. The threader shaped them oh-so perfect and BEST OF ALL once u get 10 eyebrow threads u get the 11th Eyebrow FREE !! Can't beat that. Luv,Luv,Luv this place.

I've been getting my brows done at Vinita's for 2 years now. Even though I've moved to San Diego, I still make trips up there once a month to get threaded. Doesn't really matter who does them, all of the girls there are good! I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes, even on a busy day AND it's only $7!

It doesn't matter who you go to, they all do an amazing job on your eyebrows at Vinita's. I've been going there for over 3 years now. After a bad 1st experience at another eyebrow threading place, I decided I should try one more place before I gave up on threading completely, and I'm glad that I found Vinita's. The price $6.99 is lower than most other places but you are still getting a quality treading job. Even without an appointment, the wait is minimal (less than 5 mins) even if you see a lot of people waiting. I just wish my sensitive skin didn't turn red for hours after the threading. But no pain, no gain!

I like my eyebrows pointy and sharp. I like to be able to cut glass with them, if the need arises. The only time I ever had my eyebrows waxed was a bad enough experience that I wont do it again. I left with pencil thin rounded off, half moon eyebrows. Horrible. Look at my pictures. Is that the idea you'd get if I told you to just clean them up? Anyway, I had heard about how great threading is (doesn't rip the collagen out of your face, only to leave it sagging in old age) and is more precise. Vinitas is the only place I've had threading done, so my experience is somewhat limited but I don't see any reason to go anywhere else. It's cheap (under $10) and I've never had anything close to a negative result here.
If you haven't tried it, you should. I don't think it hurts. The first couple times aren't too pleasant, but I didn't consider it painful. I used to go to the one in Tustin and would say the same about that location. So, go give it a whirl. I think you'll like it.

The lack of lighting makes this place very deceptive. While my brows looked fine at the salon, once I got back home with some bright lights, I noticed all these eye brow hairs! Sure they're quick and it's only $7, but I don't think they are very fastidious about their work.

haha wtf a guy reviewing a place that does eyebrow threading?
That's right! I came here a few times with my ex and actually got my eyebrows threaded.
First of all, the first time I did it, it was SOO PAINFUL I CRIED. I'll admit to that but after that, it was nothing. The lady that does it ( i don't their names) does a really good job. This was my conversation to how I wanted my eye brows to look:
Me: don't make me look like ryan seacrest
Lady: But isn't he famous?
Me: I don't care. I just want some off and don't make me look like I'm gonna be part of Bollywood.
Lady: *laughs* ok i won't
end result, i kinda looked gay!! Oh well. they really do a good job though!

Went Friday and I was lucky to get Sonal to do my eyebrows. Afterwards, she gives you the best massage. Love it and the price is way better than Ziba's
I've been coming here to get my brows done every other week for the past 4 years. Yes, it maybe painful , but it beats getting hot wax getting ripped off your face. Ketna's been my threading goddess, she there every day except Mondays and Tuesdays.

I live in Carson, but i go here to get my threading done which is a 15-20 freeway ride. I also go to Wendy and she's a doll. She does a great job and really is precise. It' s in a dingy plaza which may need to be renovated, but this place is a hidden threading gem.

I get my eyebrows threaded here by Wendy, who appears to be the only non-India threader here.
