Can't say it better than Aaron. This is my husband and my favorite restaurant in the area, although we only go there once or twice a year due to cost. Service is very good, food is tops. Highly recommended.

The food scene in East Lansing is sort of disconcerting. But Villegas in in Okemos. The owner/executive chef, who has a cooking show on PBS, features fresh Michigan ingredients in upscale American cuisine. The food is artfully prepared, and really flavorful. The ambiance is romantic, except for the giant window into the kitchen, which though unique, seems to take something away from the mood. While the food is pretty expensive, it is worth it. Plus, you have an excuse to get out of East Lansing.
