Diamond Peak is a diamond in the rough! Get 2 days for $70 at Cosco and enjoy. I prefer Homewood for a few bucks more, but Diamond Peak is pretty cool.
There is a lot of room for kids/families to tear it up away from the rest of the runs so there isn't a lot of kiddie dodging there. There is good tree boarding without in dangerous terrain.
I would recommend this to all levels of boarders. It's pretty small, but really great. I stayed at the CalNeva casino and took the free shuttle to the slopes. BTW the driver of the bus, Conrad, is the coolest shuttle bus driver you'll ever meet! The chalet also has really good bloody mary's.
