Pleasant atmosphere and staff. Above average food and portion size.

This got a collective "meh" from my group.  Nothing bad, but nothing that stood out.

I went here with a group of about 10 folks. Not a single person was pleased with their meal. I was served perhaps the worst pasta Alfredo I've ever had.   Another companion said the tuna they were served was "horrible."  Service was curt.

Not a bad little place to sustain your mercury level via seafood.  Located on the marsh of Chincoteague, this is probably the nicest place on the island.  Oysters were fresh and slimy and I could have slurped down about 43 more, the crab cakes were standard and our beers and wine cold  -but the service was kind of bleh.  The hostess rolled her eyes at us when we asked about sitting near the windows like they were packed (they weren't!) and our server a little on the slow side... but we were in no rush.

Overall, food was good but the service left something to be desired...

I was disappointed  in the quality of the dinner. The oyster stew was hardly a stew, more like oysters swimming in boiled milk. The steak was hard to chew, the cole slaw uninspiring, and the rice tasted like it come from a box. I wouldn't be surprised because I saw pies emerging from boxes in one preparation area. After eating some of the best fries I've ever eaten at AJs just across the street, I can barely down the rather limp fries here.

The only dish that was good was the tomato stuffed with seafood.

Saturday night at 7:30 pm.. should have made reservations...20 minute wait was more like 30 and we waited at the bar with the unfriendly bartender.  It took the waitress 10 minutes to get to us at first but once she did the service was good.  HUGE portions of ok food.  Locals think it is pricey but compared to DC - I'm not about to complain.  Raw items were very tasty though poorly shucked.  Cooked items were fine, 5 out of 10.  Didn't appreciate paying $10 for a cocktail in Chincoteague, that was the only time I got sticker shock. This place was fine, nothing wowed me.

saturday night, 8:15pm. we had reservations for 8:30 but showed up early. which was fine. they seated us after maybe a 5 minute wait.
at 1st, it was very loud, which was fine as it was a saturday night.

    ordered:
half dozen raw oysters on the half shell - they brought me 7
half dozen raw clams on the half shell - they brought me 8
4 very large coconut shrimp - with a sweet and sour type dipping sauce.

the raw items were very very fresh. very tasty.
the only problem was that the shucking was a bit sub par. i had to cut away the meat from the majority of the shells. this was fine. the flavor and freshness made up for this.

the coconut shrimp was very good. the dipping sauce was thick and sweet. it was almost like eating dessert.

    as for the service:
the hostess was a tiny bit on the surly side, and the waitress was very down-to-business.

other than that, the view was very nice. especially at sunset.
if i come back to chincoteague, i'd probably come back here.

Excellent seafood and a friendly atmosphere.  We ordered oyster stew, crab imperial and fried oysters.  EVERYTHING was excellent!  The staff was really friendly and service was great (especially for our large party).  I would recommend this place to anyone who comes to Chincoteague and wants to experience some of the great local seafood.

I've read all the reviews so I kept an open mind.  Now the prices are expensive.  Entrees were no more than $30 unless you got something at market price.  Drinks were $5.  The food was great.  I had a stuffed flounder my wife had scallops.  Both were broiled and delicious.  Our waitress was very nice and the food was served fast.  I would definitely recommend.  And oh yes they accept credit cards.

My wife loves this place but it leaves me cold.  Food is good, decor is quite nice, service is friendly.  Maybe it is just a little bit too fancy for the Island?  Prices on the high side?  But worth a try.  The exact opposite of Steamers.

Service was great, but the food was mediocre. I ordered the seafood platter broiled (you can get it fried for about a buck more), consisting of Imperial crab, shrimp, fish fillet, oyster, clam, and a lobster tail. I chose a salad and baked potato for the two sides that came with the entree. The salad was fine--loved the grape tomatoes. I didn't even touch the baked potato after seeing the entree (the portion was fairly large). The first thing I tried was the scallop, then the shrimp. Both were just okay--nothing spectacular for the ~$30 entree. The oyster, clam, and lobster tail were all too dry. The food alone deserves 2 stars, but I gave them an extra star for their friendly service.

Our hotel staff said this was the best restaurant on the island and it was pretty good.  Reservations needed.  I wouldn't call it gourmet.  Large portions compensate for that special something.  The coconut shrimp were tasty.  The broiled scallops were good, right texture but - this is a weird complaint - too many.  My wife and I both attempted to share here plate of 2 dozen scallops and are now scalloped out.  The scallop plate was for $20 which is pricy for locals but cheap coming from DC.  Same goes for the 1/2 dozen oysters on the half shell for $6.  Again, traveling as young couple with a baby, we found the place family friendly.  Carpeted floor (some stains already) but they didn't seem to mind the baby throwing stuff on the floor.  A baby in a high chair next to us was trashing her area as well....  We went twice.  Our first night, I think a wedding party was using one of the private rooms.
