It doesn't have the flair (nor the snazzy sign) of most record stores, but this place is deep. The store is almost in the shape of a long, narrow hallway, and aside from the square of cheap cds in the middle of the hallway, it can be tricky getting around people. However, the store opens up in the back to a large dvd collection and assorted genres of cds.
This is a great place to fill in your collection for cheap if you are a cd buyer. The prices are affordable in general and the staff was very friendly, though they didn't seem like your typical, informed music staff. I didn't have a music conversation with them to find out, so I suppose that's up in the air.
A good place to stop by for a decent music-buying experience.Listed in: Best New York City Record…

I walked into this place, saw the prices and selection, and walked right back out. Not really worth the time, unless you want to overpay. Vinyl selection is limited and overpriced. CD selection and pricing is better, but still not that great.
Utterly dissapointing. -

My daughter is at the age (she turned 15 today) that she likes to browse CD/Record Stores so after leaving Bleeker Bob's without the new Interpol CD we stopped into this fine establishment.
From the front it looks very small. but once you walk to the back it is obvious that this is a very well stocked shop. The gentleman who was working that night was very helpful. All my daughter had to do was mention Interpol and she was shown the limited edition version for $14.99 which was much less than we saw it for at other stores later on.
There are lots of well organized bins and the walls are stacked with CDs. Since I am not looking for anything hard to find these days I was not able to really put the store through the paces. I chedked to see if they carried any Drive-by Truckers which they did. Even though the Hoosiers CD had arrived in the mail before we caught the train into the city I did ask if they had it and if they could get it. The answer was no on both accounts but I would not hold it against them. -

my whole body was drunken with smelly coffee.. I wondered what that place was for.. so? checked it out!!
oh~ it's not small.. pretty huge... narrow, but long..
inside... it covered most music genres.. pop, rock, classical, etc..
got used CD, 'Green Day (Nimrod),' for only $3.99!! it's still $9.99 on itune.. awesome!!Listed in: Natural Born as Eye Shopper!…, When Julie met NYC

Possibly the worst store for vinyl in the city. It's crowded, stinky, the clerk barely speaks English AND $15 for Neil Diamond's Jazz Singer? Are you kidding me? That record doesn't even sell in the dollar bin. Don't waste your time on this store. I'd give it MINUS 5 stars if I could!

I stumbled upon this place Sunday on my way somewhere else. Never been here before. Surprised by the wonderful prices on older Cd's. Also surprised that they actually do have older CD singles. I bought 3 Cd's (2 albums and 1 single) for less than $20.
