This is the single greatest mini golf course I've ever played.  Two courses are offered.  The Orange Course is pretty much a standard 18 hole course with silly animatronics and typical hazards.  The Gold Course, however, is a 23 hole PAR 74 thing of beauty.  I'll say it again in case you missed it: PAR 74 mini golf course.  The very first hole is a par 4!  Have you ever seen a mini golf hole with a par 4??

The first thing to notice is how amazing the landscaping is.  Beautiful flowers all over the place, terraced holes, bridges, and lots of natural water that all flow around the different holes and ultimately end in a large pond.  Even the carpet on the course is well maintained and there is no sign of wrinkles, or tears.

The second thing is how well designed it is, from a playability standpoint.  Far too often are mini golf courses the same basic shape but with a clown/pirate/elephant standing in the middle.  Not on the gold course at Village Greens.  This beast throws many route choices at you for several of the holes where you can play it safe by taking the high road, or the risky low road.  I'm a pretty experienced mini golfer, and this was the most challenging course I've ever played, but it was nice to have that feeling that you earned it and really required a lot of thinking and strategy.

Every hole felt like it was well thought out and designed.  They were all incorporated into the beautiful landscape with many hills, and turns and natural water hazards.  No throwaway holes here.  This par 74 beast took close to an hour and a half to complete!  And every minute was a pleasure.  The orange course is $7.25, I believe, and the gold course is $8.  Fairly pricey, but well worth it.

The Village Greens goes well beyond a "if you're ever in the area, you should check it out" recommendation.  If you're a mini golf fan, you NEED to come here.  But be prepared to be spoiled for life as I've never seen anything that compares.
