I'm not much of a burger fan, but I've got to say Village Burger has one of the best burgers! They should definitely open a place like this up in Virginia. I absolutely love their sweet potato fries, they're a little, somewhat healthier than the alternative. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger and it was oh-so juicyyyy! Can't wait to try it again in the far future...

I stand here on the dock sobbing my eyes out for obviously I missed the boat here. I had a great plan to start: hit Village Burger Bar for at least a 4-star burger then round the corner to the Magnolia for a little face time with Wall-E. At least the second half of the evening lived up to expectations.

Hmm, Village......wasn't that a much-hpyed M. Night movie that kind of fell flat? Was that how they decided to name this place? (OK, first time Yelper, I know it's in the village, get with the program. Don't make me open a can of Smart-Ass on you!)

Sorry, beloved Yelpers I trust but this $7.50 burger was extremely dry and flavorless. I got provolone cheese, lettuce and what was supposed to be champagne mustard but seemed more like runny mayo. Probably my mistake, though. My first inclination was to just order a martini, hence the bar in the name. Now I like burger + martini but next time I'll probably get a different munchie. My friend's salad looked good, albeit it over-run with cranberries.

So M. Night is that the twist here? Burger place actually serves better salads that meat. So should i visit Greenz to get a double-chili cheese half-pounder? M. Might just pour me a flirtini, I'm confused!

I've eaten at Village Burger Bar quite a few times, especially during the Asian Film Fest that is nearby.  The turkey burgers and sweet potato fries absolutely rock!  I would take that turkey burger over almost any other burger in town.  I love how you can customize it to your taste, between deciding what type of greens, what kind of cheese, and what condiments to put on it.

The only thing I don't like about it is that half the time the staff can be way too stuck-up, as if working in West Village makes them better than everyone else.  But, I wouldn't knock stars off for that, since I just ignore them.

OK, if I were still living in Dallas I probably would have given Village Burger Bar 5 stars, but I can't now that I've eaten at The Counter, both here in San Jose and in LA, which is almost identical, but better, has more choices and staff isn't quite as impressed with themselves.

I totally love village burger bar. best burgers and awesome fries. Their shakes are delicious too. I also love their half price margarita fridays. And don't forget their salads! they are huge, fresh, and have delicious things on them like nuts, fruit, and blue cheese.

They are opening another location in Park Lane I think...across from North Park. I will be there all the time!

Good joint for a burger bar as they offer some "healthier" options for sandwiches, I had a turkey club that tasted great.  They have sweet potato fries too!!!

On top of that they're open way later.  I got off from work at 10 pm and searched for some restaurants that were open late, and this place came up which is awesome since it seems like the majority of restaurants in Dallas close even before the sun has a chance to set.  I'd rather not go to McDee-sucks.

burger bar is a gem in a sea of new urbanist stucco. though it might seem a little overwrought for a burger joint, its burgers stand up to the challenge. in particular their turkey burger (i get jalepeno jack/cranberries/avacado) with sweet potato fries.

for those of you who live in uptown/oaklawn and want to find a place near your house where you can hang out in peace, burger bar is it. their bartenders are awesome, as are the mojitos they make.

the best way to utilize this place is to go from around 11-2, after a movie or going out, get a drink and/or burger and sit under the awning outside, where the picnic tables are. we've sat outside there for many hours and were never bothered by the usual west village....."atmopshere."

great!

For a burger place, the Village Burger Bar has a lot of options! I had the chicken pesto sandwich and some lemonade, and my friends and I shared a basket of sweet potato fries! The sandwich was delicious and massive, in true Texas fashion, while the fries were fantastic! They were not too salty, which we all loved! I would totally be a regular here if I were a native!

Finally, something to fill the Phil's-Icehouse-sweet-potato-fry-shaped void l've been suffering from since we moved from Austin. Crowded today at lunch, but the delicious blue cheese burger was worth it.

When I stopped eating red meat many years ago, I discovered that the only time I can really eat burgers (turkey, veggie, etc) are if I make them myself.  I have since discovered the Idle Rich's veggie burger, which is so good it makes me weep, but I was still looking for a really good turkey burger.

The search is over, people, as the turkey burger at the Village Burger Bar is exactly what I've been craving all these years.  It features a perfectly seasoned turkey patty and a nice buttery bun, and comes with pepper jack cheese, cranberries, tomato, and field greens. Since mayo is the seed of the devil, I had them give me mustard instead, and it was absolutely fantastic.

I also had the sweet potato fries, which are my favorite food ever, and they were good but far from the best I've ever had.  It's the turkey burger that will bring me back, though. Maybe even today...

Having not really ventured through much of Dallas' best burgers, I am starting off my quest for some really good burgers in Dallas. I thought the VBB was excellent. Yes, it's not the most amazing burger I ever had and they are cooked more medium/medium rare than well, however, they were flavorful and fresh tasting. The pickles seemed either home-made or hand-cut or something like that... the quality overall was quite good.

The shoestring fries were very good as well. I hate sweet potatoes, so I can't comment on those, but apparently they are very good. I also had a vanilla milkshake, which I thought was very interesting. It was not thick like normal milkshakes are, it was kind of milky, or runny; whatever it was I respected the choice of the VBB to go the whole way and just make it very drinkable. In America, it tends to be, that anything labeled "Vanilla" doesn't taste like vanilla, just milk. I have to give them kudos because it actually somewhat tasted like vanilla. I will go back!

Went to this place  awhile  now.  I love the sweet potatoes fries and the hamburger was good.  I also like the casual dinning atmosphere.   My favorite hang out place for a Sunday afternoon.

One of the better burgers in town, but it never makes the final cut.  A solid JV player.  My order: turkey burger with spinach, cranberries, swiss. . . I think.  It's been a year or 2 since I've been.   I keep it in mind for the late hours but have never actually taken advantage of that.

I really like this place for a good burger with great fries.    They stay open pretty late, like 2am on Friday and Saturday, so you can get your legs under you after a drinking binge.  I find the best bet is to eat at the bar.

Sweet potatoe fries are good, but not for everyone.

I've been spending a decent amount of time in West Village lately, and the Village Burger Bar is part of the reason why.  Not surprisingly, they have great burgers, and a large selection of alternative dishes like salads and paninis that are actually good.  I don't think it's quite as good as my beloved Deep Ellum burger joints, but the venue is much better and they stay open later.

I was really impressed with their chicken and turkey burgers, and my wife called their sweet potato fries the best she's ever had.  I, however, was most impressed with their Sunday happy hour special, which is $5 vodka drinks (unfortunately, it doesn't include martinis).  Five dollars isn't necessarily a great deal for a drink... that is, until you see them pour it.  It's an amazing sight to watch the bartender pull out a 16 oz water glass, put a couple of cubes of ice in it, half fill it with your choice of Tito's or Grey Goose, and top it off with tonic water.  I was in shock (and had a pleasant walk/stumble  to the Magnolia).

The experience was good enough that my wife wanted to go again the next day, a ringing endorsement if I've ever heard one.

Onward with my journey to find the perfect hamburger in Dallas.  With a recommendation from one of my team members we headed down to Village Burger Bar in Uptown Dallas.  Once you enter the establishment you walk right up to the well stocked bar and place your food order.  I ordered the chicken burger and onion rings because I don't like sweet potato fries.  My "burger" was very good because it came with tasty friends bacon and avocado.  The onion rings were also quite tasty, but arrived stuck together and were a little difficult to separate.  All together my meal was very good, but the reason I gave only 3 stars was because the guests that were with me received their burgers a little too rare than too their liking.  The center of the patty was cold and red.  Eeesh.

I seem to be in the minority about this one.  I was not impressed with Burger Bar after going a few times (just in case I got a bad batch of food).

Burgers are OK but not WOW.  Bread was tough to chew and the regular fries incredibly salty and undercooked.  Prices are more than they should be for the quality of the food.

Has possibly the worst set up possible.  You walk in and there's the counter to order.  Bad part is everyone and their mom loves this place in Uptown so there is a large crowd waiting to order.  The owners decided to put the self serve soda fountain on the other side of where you actually sit down.

So, you have to Excuse Me your way to get your drink or refill.

Plus, I am never a fan of seating layout where the people next to you are literally NEXT to you.  If the place is packed, conversations bleed over and next thing you know you are raising your voice to be heard by your friend (it's a small indoor dining area).

If you wish to avoid this, sit outside where it's slightly better.

Who I assume are the owners or at the very least the managers are borderline aloof and typically with a sour face.   If you don't like taking food orders, then hire someone else.

If you want a burger, give your money elsewhere.  Jake's is right up the street and much much better.

I have meaning to try this place since it opened and finally had the chance last week.  When you walk in, you order at the counter and they bring it to your table.  It is pretty low key for the West Village and a good place to grab a quick lunch.

I had the turkey burger and it was innovative and delicious.  I had them substitute regular mustard for the mayo, and it came with cranberries and field greens on a wheat bun.  It was one of the best turkey burgers I have ever had, even without cheese.  But, like Wallace's wife, my true love for this place was the sweet potato fries.  They are small and crispy with just enough sweet and salt mixed together.  I will be back.
