1 review for Village Baby
When I was a kid, my mom dressed me in Garanimals, Toughskins and polyester double-knit pants with apples and the alphabet on them. I turned out okay. But clearly, in this challenging world, today's kids need organic cotton, boutiquey small-production clothing lines, Buddha hoodies, handknit Red Sox sweaters, Petunia Picklebottom bags. A kid, toddler or infant coming out of here will be more than just better-dressed than most adults. He or she will be a goddam hipster, fa'shizzle.
Yes, this place is VERY EXPENSIVE. I was shopping for a friend's new baby and the t-shirt I was looking at cost just as much as an adult one at the Gap. I could take the money I spend on two outfits there and get one and a half for myself at Macy's. Seriously.
That being said, the selection is really cool. The staff is super-helpful and nice; you get the feeling they consider the kid you're shopping for like their own. They're as hands-on or -off as you want, and will even giftwrap everything nicely (and for free). Little kids will wear whatever you put them in, so this store is clearly for the adults in their lives.
Five star staff and selection; two for the price.
