2 reviews for Villa Pizza & Restaurant
I want to review one pizza shop since it is hard to differentiate between the many pizzerias that dot the New Jersey landscape. While some are better than others most of them are good. With so much competition the bad ones usually do not last. However, the fact that we have Domino's and Pizza Huts completely perplex me (the Pizza Hut that is show in the opening scene of Clerks II is on RT 35 in Middletown).
I decided to try Villa Pizza because they were advertising on the wall at my gym. It is a New Jersey Pizza place. If you are in the area you can stop in and not be disappointed. You probably would not drive a distance because you would pass 3 or 4 others just like it.
Like most of the other pizzerias in the area there is a full service restaurant that serves traditional italian food (all of which is available for take out).
I do not have the taste for pizza that I used to. Might be because of the general fear of carbs that has gripped the US in the last decade or so.
The other side of Holmdel offers a good go to pizza restaurant where more of my friends live. Villa Pizza is the destination of choice where you can see many familiar faces if you live in the area. The front of the store offers minimal seating after you order at the counter with lots of different pizza options by the slice or a sandwich form the kitchen. The back has a sit down area with waiter service for larger parties. Thinking about Villa Pizza makes me yearn for the tri state.
