You know, it's by no means the nicest casino...but I always have a good time when I go to Viejas!
A couple weeks ago was the 1st time I saw the new poker room. It isn't the best, and it's not much better quality-wise than the old room. Still, the new room's much bigger, so it's nice not to feel totally crammed sitting beside my boyfriend while he plays for hours.
The smoking areas are indeed very smoky.
I love that Moet splits are only $7 (or maybe $6).
And--this is weird--but some of the bathrooms are ridiculously ultra-nice given the overall average-ness of the rest of the casino!
About four months ago they moved the poker room from a superior space upstairs to the main floor by the doors facing Willows Rd. It is now a (more) chaotic and poorly managed managed zoo on weekend nights. They claim they are building a wall to section off the new room from the casino.
The best and worst thing about Viejas' poker room is that it's the room of choice for SD bros. The bros, most from SDSU, East Village, or PB, are especially good at getting liquored up and losing their parents' money. Bros tend to obtain their poker knowledge from watching tournament play on ESPN. It's ideal when the bro brings his tag-along ho. The bro tries to impress the ho by over betting like a fool. You can make a lot of money off these guys.
Barona has a much nicer poker room, but the problem is they don't serve booze. Sometimes it's worth suffering through Viejas' mini 9-man tables and bro-hos to make some easy money on a Saturday night. Also, Viejas spreads more games including Omaha.
why do you have to go all the way goddamn upstairs for a cup of soda. they don't even have that good ol' cranberry cocktail juice like barona has.
really the only good thing going for this place is the outlet.. but who goes gambling before 9 pm.
Yeah recently I came back here....won...then played it again...lost what I won...it's a love hate relationship....I had fun though...that's all that matters....

Yeah so we joined the membership here. They gave us $20 right away to play and we used this to eat… Read more »
My degenerate side loves to gamble...emphasis on love. Am I serious about it? Not really, which is why I stick to nickel slots (like you will really when the jackpot on those things). But I love to play , CARDS too.
So when the man and I decided to hit the Pai Gow tables for old times and we went up to Viejas, we were pretty bummed out to see that the Pai Gow room has been changed to a giant Texas Hold 'Em room. BAH! We had to wait for a couple of spots to open up for us, which makes me anxious. So lame.
We did play other machines and other tables while we were there, but if you are looking for some sweet Pai Gow action, you aren't going to find much here.
The redeeming factor is that this place serves booze, which is rare for a casino in San Diego since so many of them are so far off the beaten path.
3.5 stars.
I wouldn't really consider myself to be someone with a whole lotta class, but here I always feel like I'm too classy...which hardly ever happens. I have gone here many a time with my sister and friends for bingo, and oh em gee...people go ape shit over bingo!!! I guess a major pre-requisite is that in order to win you must be over the age of 60, have rotting teeth, not be able to speak clear English and have either a case or belt holster full of bingo dobbers...Being that I'm none of the aformentioned, I have yet to win....and gawd forbid you try to have fun while playing and mess around with your friends! The crazies will ssshhhh and evil eye the hell outta you!!
But bingo isn't really my game of choice, blackjack is. We signed up for their players card and our reward was a $20 bill...shazam! I parlayed that $20 into $200 and had a grand ole time! But generally speaking, their blackjack tables suck a LOT on the weekends. Why, you may ask? Well, people are idiots. Not to mention the fact that there aren't all that many tables.
...and since when did Viejas turn into the Pussycat Dolls Lounge in Vegas with the almost nekked go go dancers? I'm not dissing the girls, but wtf man...Viejas?!? The last place I'd work as a go go dancer would be here because there were sooo many sick horny old bastards foaming at the mouth standing 3 feet away from these girls. I have to give them credit though, because I sure as hell would not be able to keep my composure while some nasty old men ogled my goodies like a lion about to tackle a gazelle.
We saw Jay Mohr on 6/5 in the Dream Catchers Lounge which was pretty sweet. Aside from the fact that the chairs were incredibly close to one another and that anyone who had to take a bathroom break forced the entire aisle to get up because there was no walking room, the show kicked ass.
On the whole this place is decent. The drive from where ever you're coming from sucks ass so I'm not likely to go back unless my trip has a purpose other than for gambling. The shops are decent if you don't mind fighting the sale mongers.
So my moms got this random invite to the buffet, free for two people. Of course she takes me, A. because my dumb ass will actually drive 30 minutes for some free food and 2. because I will stick around and hit the slots with her for a couple of hours.
We get there and the line is kind of long so we play a bit on the penny slots. An hour and an unmentionable amount of money later we get in line to grub. The food was ok. This buffet for sure doesn't have anything on Barona's.
The casino was super clean and not hella crowded like Sycuan. It's cool that they have the outlets and a food court and all that junk for the non gamblers. A great way to spend an afternoon and your money.
Five stars because I won $260 on $20 worth of slot machine pulls.
Minus a star because Apryl and I were the nicest dressed, classiest people in the whole f*cking place!
I liked how they decorated the place as if we were in nature. There were huge fake trees inside and teepees (sp?) around. The casino looked liked Vegas, which was weird compared to the other Indian casinos around.
I liked how they had an outlet, but they need to update their stores, their all boring. The food court is fun with a little show at night. I love the whole scene of the outlet because it makes you feel like your walking through nature, haha.
My family went to play Bingo and they call out the numbers pretty fast! It's still fun though! You have 12 cards to play so it ups your chances of winning. If your new, than it will be a bit of a challenge to keep up but after a couple of times, you'll get used to it.
I've always been a Barona fan, but since Viejas has Bingo, its becoming better.
Its kinda hard to not come to this casino especially if u live one exit away!
I might as well be sponsored by this casino(all u bayview ballers who see the Viejas water bottles...that's me!)
My mama loves to gamble here...they made her like elite status or sumthing...where she gets free food and stuff(watch us walk by all the peeps in line waiting for the buffet cuz we get to go to the front of the "VIP line")
For all the damn money she puts into your machines u better hook it up!!
Cool: 1 and 2 dollar blackjack tables
War
Penny sluts(the ones with the bonus games....u can actually come up!)
Bingo time!(bring ur bucket of albertsons chicken and ur good)
Being able to eat free food...Free makes everything sound good
Outlets across the street (NIKE, come up on sum Jordans)
Concerts at the park(I hear Thunder from down Under is coming....anyone wanna roll wit cebo and manolos?)
Steakhouse is yum
China Camp is yum
Ice princess show (water fountain show....wen its not playing u see lil mexican kids running in and out the water....)
Not so cool: needs a hotel(all the other casinos coming up)
Buffet got wack(although we eat free..they seem to always have the same food)
Living one exit away(always tempted to go!!)
It's an Indian casino, not a Vegas casino. Expect to see your run-of-the-mill bums, senior citizens, and gamble-aholics (is that what they're called?). It's not the coolest hang out for young people looking for nightlife. In reality, it's located in the middle of nowhere about 20 minutes east of the nearest big city. However, it's actually a pretty decent casino.
While the casino itself is not huge, it is definitely not crowded and that's a plus. Since they've added the new addition a couple of years ago, half of the casino looks a little old-style and half looks Vegas style -- it's great! I've spent many-a-holiday there (New Years, 4th of July, etc) because my mom is part of their V Club, and let me tell you: it's actually a really cool player's card program.
Over the past few years I have been able to get endless free tickets to Regal movie theaters (at least 8 per week), tickets to San Diego Zoo/Wild Animal Park, SeaWorld, Disneyland, Six Flags... you name it, I've gotten it for free from them. Granted, my mom was an Elite (before they ever had MVP status) so she spent a lot of money there, but it's not a bad return if you're gonna gamble anyway, right? My favorite part about the V Club? Once you get past the Classic level, they offer free food credit DAILY, which is good at any of their restaurants, but also for small gift shop items, too. I have about 94 mini-bottles of lotion in my bathroom because on days when we didn't want to eat there, we'd just spend our $30 food credit in the gift shop buying travel lotion. =)
The employees are pretty nice, especially when they get to know you. We're pretty much on a first-name basis with most of 'em. I haven't had any issues with management and they care about the people in their casino.
It's also not a bad place to bring your family because right across the street is a good-sized outlet mall, complete with water playing for the kiddos and grassy knolls for the couples. They often have live music and even full-blown concerts.
Bottom line: head over there if you wanna be a regular. It's too far to be a place to stop off one time. There are other, closer casinos for that kinda stuff.
nothing too gr8 about this casino. Depressing to see soooo many zombies on the slot machines...but well thats all casinos rite? anyways, I headed over here to play some poker (and I won :) ).... couple of amateurs hang around the table making the game too unpredictable and just too boring. On the table where I was seated..pple were just bluffing or going all in most of the time. Once I made my share of profit, I was outta here.. I doubt I'll head here again
We went to the Dream Catcher to watch Thunder from Down Under. The entertainment company did a fine job, however the staff of Dream Catcher needs a lot of improvement in the way of hospitality (maybe its cause we weren't just throwing our money away on their machines)
* The show started 20 minutes late (then they were rushing us out 20 minutes early)
* Our seats were in the far left upper balcony and completely removed from the action and an awful view of the stage (we could see the tape 'marks' on the stage)
* The bartenders couldn't remember our drink orders (Five Stoli's and soda's and One Stoli and 7)
* At the end of the evening while we were buying over priced poloroids ($20/per person) we were rushed out by the cleaning crew who wanted to mop the dance floor, WHILE WE WERE STILL THERE. "Come on guys wait 20 minutes while our Baccalaureate gets her damn picture!"
I would really reconsider watching another show at this venue. If you do call way ahead of time and make sure to get floor seats with a good view. Don't arrive early, and don't plan on getting any autographs afterward, they want you the %@&# out.
I am terrified of gambling. I am however, not of the buffet here. Haha.
I haven't been out here in a long time now, but I do recall having some pretty decent desserts at this fancy little buffet.
My mom loves this place, and I'm surprised shes waited so long before she's asked me if I want to go back.
They really don't have much to offer the veggie's, since I went here before I "converted" but with most places, beggars can't be choosers?
I put in 2 bucks and got 15.25 back! woot woot!
then i cashed out because im not a gambler and making 13 dollars was good enough for me!
Misty on the other hand was up 50 bucks! Mace up 35 Bucks and Josh down 10 bucks!
Missing your Vegas fill? Then Viejas is your ticket!
Take the bus from Marshall in El Cajon and you be up there in about 45 minutes. That way you don't have to worry about the parking and most important you can drink cocktails.
This place is big! Swanky with cocktail lounges, restaurants, slots, card tables, smoking and nonsmoking sections.
Looked like, felt like, smelled like Vegas right here in home town.
Had fun with my best friend and my parents!
Great buffet, tons to eat! Get there early, cuz there is a line.
One draw back...The cocktails are EXPENSIVE! so don't order from the playing floor, order from the good looking bartenders and don't' get well cocktails.
I must have had fun because I feel asleep on the bus ride home.
I like Viejas because it's more than just your average reservation casino. They actually have stuff people other than gamblers can enjoy, such as their concerts and their outlets. I can't say how the concerts are as I haven't been to one personally, but I did take my friends here once as a day trip and while they weren't gamblers, the girls did appreciate that there were outlet stores to shop around.
In addition, Viejas caters to my needs because they have a huge poker room. They even have an overflow room on another level for tournaments. After waiting for almost two hours at Barona without even getting on the board, we headed over to Viejas and called beforehand to put on names on the board. By the time we got here about half an hour later, we got our seats within 5 minutes, despite an already busy room. The interior isn't as fancy as Barona, but Viejas gives me what I need. They also have a convenient soda fountain right outside the poker room so you can help yourself to drinks without having to wait for the extremely slow service. All in all, a nice little casino - I'm happy because I've done well here in the past.
WOOHOO! I won and I won and I won! So for my winning streak I will give Viejas 5-stars which I will explain at the end of my review. Many games to choose from and never a dull moment. The buffet I will give 3 stars. The freshness wasn't quite there however the french onion soup was yummy! Valet parking is $3.00 and the staff is very friendly. The chairs are comfortable while you gamble, which is a big plus especially if you are on a winning streak and like to spin around and take your hands in back of you and hit the buttons..pow...pow as your back is to the machine. So now for the good part:
I found a machine called "Tornado Tina" Hey had to play it since it was obviously named after Yours Truly. I landed on the bonus round which gives you 15 extra spins....get this.... I received it 2 more times within the 15 spins with a total of 45 spins. Landed on 5 Tornado Tinas which paid out the maximum $2.50 x 1,000. That's right baby a total $7,500.00 + 2 jackpots which left me with a grand total of $10,200.00. I walked at $10,000.00 and my photo is on a wall somewhere.
BINGO! is pretty much my favorite gambling game. It's low risk (about $20) and hours of entertainment. You don't win often, but when you do, you win big!!
Viejas has a huge BINGO! hall, big jackpots, full snack bar and all the other goodies that make Bingo such a fun experience. (I swear I'm only 30!) My guy plays poker and we meet up later for food and blackjack or slots or whatever.
I have to say, though, I wouldn't come out to Viejas if Barona's BINGO! hall was still functioning. And, Barona's buffet spanks Viejas' buffet.
This is a review mostly of the buffet, because all I ever really care about is food.
To me, if you're eating at a buffet, you're already in a lower class of eating establishment. This being said, do you rate according to the same standards of fare as when you're eating in a cook to order restaurant? I believe the answer is no. It's how you can give Top of the Market and In-N-Out both 5 stars - they are on different levels, but you can enjoy both just the same. So this 3 stars is a buffet 3 stars. Compared to other buffets that I've eaten at, it was pretty good.
I'm not really a fan of buffets to begin with, usually because of the food quality, but I am a fan of stuffing my face, so the idea does appeal to me sometimes. One thing that can be said about this buffet is that I didn't feel sick afterwards, which is a huge plus. They have an excellent selection of desserts, and a great ice cream bar. They have a vat of bacon, so they get kudos for that, and a taco bar. I was a little upset that they didn't have any french fries. All in all, it was a-ok. The price also makes it worth it. I'm also happy that there is no line. Of course, I was spoiled by the buffet at Valley View. That one, however, is nothing short of exceptional, even by non-buffet standards.
This probably makes me seem like a gambling fiend. Here's my review of the casino itself:
I was feeling like a high roller, so I played a nickel machine as opposed to the penny slots. After my second turn, I won 6 bucks. I pressed the "cash out" button and left. I was pretty happy. If there is a next time, I'd like to try bingo.
Oh, I'd like to point out one other thing. Even though the people of Yelp say that this is not good for kids, there were plenty of kids running around with their families. They looked like they were having a good time. A lot of them were at the buffet. Based on my experience, I'd have to say this is a great place for kids.
Eric and I were driving back from a wedding we attended in Julian, and decided to stop here on the spur of the moment, so throw a couple bucks in the slots and see what happens.
Honestly, in my opinion, a casino is a casino is a casino. I've never been to Vegas, but the casinos here (at least on the inside), seem just about the same as the ones in Atlantic City. There's not much to say - you go in, you gamble. Maybe you eat. Maybe you drink.
But my Viejas story has a happy ending:
I put in a total of $8 at a few of the slot machines, and ended up winning $71!!! Cash out and go!!!
A half-hour long detour out of our trip home well spent!
Call me old fashion but I LOVVVVE bingo! And no I am not a 70 yr. old woman! It seriously is the most relaxing/exciting thing ever! This is the only casino I know of that actually has bingo in southern Cali that is not a senior center. The only thing that sucks big time is that it is like an hour away from the 15 freeway, so prepare yourself for a long drive. I am usually the only person under 50 in there but it is a fun good time. You buy a stack of cards for like 12 bucks and then stamp away. They offer free soda/coffee/water and then have a concession stand right outside for food.
I will have to say they are pretty anal about being quiet and do not take pictures! I took a picture once and this bouncer lady with one tooth haggled me the entire night. Otherwise, I think this place is fun for some good ol' fashion BINGO!
P dot S dot: In the winter they open up an ice skating rink in the outlet mall across the way.
"Are they selling dildos in this vending machine?"
Our inquisitive hero peered closer at the vending machine stocked with various brightly colored phallic objects labeled "Magic Spot". Nope, they were simply selling bingo markers for a dollar each.
The night our hero and his gambling buddy went there to play bingo, some lucky thirty year old woman won a $56,800 bingo jackpot! Starting at just $5 on Tuesday nights, or from $10 and up on other days, you can have a crack at prizes up to $500,000 here (although most games normally pay around $1,000). Making small talk with his bingo neighbors on the same table, our hero learned that some seniors spend up $400-500 a night on bingo. They have regular old paper and dotter bingo with 12 boards to a sheet, portable computerized playing monitors, and computerized sit-down stations to play at.
"What happens if you shout bingo without actually having it? Do they kick you out?"
"No, but these seniors are pretty serious about it. They'll shout at you and they might take you out back...," answered a regular.
If you get there early, you can squeeze in up to 26 bingo games from 6:30 - 10:00 PM. However, even if you're late, it's still a lot of fun to be had and you can pick up with the next round that starts. New to bingo, our hero took a few games to get up to speed and was amazed at the people playing 24 boards at one time.
As for the overall casino, it's got a nice feel to it and is fairly spacious; however, the layout is a bit winding and not very open. Regardless, Viejas is well maintained for a 17 year old casino and has an almost Vegas-like ambiance. With the V Club card, you also get 20% off all regular priced meals at the restaurants in the casino. This means that their buffet is only $8 with a club card!
PROS:
- Gambling allowed for the young ones, 18+.
- Complimentary self-serve soda and coffee stands.
- Large 1500-seat bingo room with both smoking and non-smoking sections.
- $5 military/student/senior discounts available for bingo with valid ID during most weekday times.
- Fairly nice and decent sized poker room with low $10-$100 buy-ins for $1/2 NLHE play.
CONS:
- Remote location in Alpine.
- Mediocre to bad food at the restaurants in the casino.
- No built-in cup holders on the poker tables. If you want to have a drink with you at the tables, you have to rest it on cheap wooden carts.
I had heard good things about this casino, but I was not impressed at all. Is it me or does this place look incredibly makeshift? The floor plan is just so random. The place feels cramped and there's no continuity whatsoever. In general, I really like casinos but I just had an icky feeling here.
There are several other better casino options within the Greater San Diego area than Viejas. Overall, the casino seems dated. The casino chips look really dirty and they need to change the table game felt because many look really stained and gross. They expanded, but it looks like they tacked on one room to the existing casino. There are some creepy somewhat dark rooms and hallways throughout the casino. They probably have the slowest player's club booth of any casino. There was a really long line with only two workers total. Not really worth the drive for the casino, the food or the outlets.
I have been going to this Casino for years - total money spent on gambling? $100 in 10 years! (Note: gambling does not include eating the crab legs at the buffet.)
Here are the reasons why I love this place:
1) My parents are Elite Club members, so we get to eat anywhere in the casino for next to nothing. Besides, when they win, they always break us off something proper.
2) As Elite Club members, we never have to wait in too long of a line.
3) They have a very underrated steak house in "The Grove".
4) Their buffet is not that bad.
5) We have access to tickets to most of the concerts and events there (Lisa Lampanelli was so funny!!)
6) They have a bingo hall -- my friends and I went and for the next three months we have been saying "give or take tickets? one dollar." since we heard it around 150 times an hour during bingo.
The only draw back is the 30 minutes it takes to get out here... -1 star for that gas guzzling trek.
To say the least, this place is interesting. Planet of the Apes is a good comparison. Or Barnum and Bailey's circus. This place is full of freaks of all kinds. Here are just a few examples:
1. guy on slot machine that rocks back and forth, talks to machine, thumps machine when he loses, and tunes out the rest of the casino
2. 500 pound guy
3. 500 pound girl
4. mullets
5. long, gray ponytails everywhere
6. 45 year old man performing "Don't you wish your BOYFRIEND was hot like me?" wearing fake glasses, suit, and stringy ponytail
7. stone washed jeans from 1980
You'll see.
As far as everything else, this casino is pretty big, for a non Vegas casino. It seems to have every kind of slot game available, which is fun. They have nickel slots, which is good if you want to just play the games for the fun of it (like I do -- my max bet is never more than 25 cents) -- $20 can last you hours. They have $5 min bet and up for the tables. The shorter / lower tables mean lower minimum bet...I didn't know that until recently. The dealers are super friendly, and helpful if you don't know all the rules of a game.
Sadly, unlike Vegas you have to pay for drinks here. They aren't all that expensive though.
I've only been to one of the restaurants in this casino -- open 24 hours. I think it is harvest cafe...good breakfast stuff -- French toast and hash browns, but the dinner stuff is pretty bland -- think Denny's.
Overall, I have lost more than I have won here, but I have had a couple really lucky nights...which got me to come back, and lose money. Still fun though.
I absolutely hate Viejas Casino now. I recently went and I was harrassed by some dealer spinning the roulette wheel. He was pissed at me and others for not giving tip, and by the way I was losing and low on the money. This dealer guy was calling out numbers opposite to what we had marked in the table hoping for us to lose. It was horrible and my friends and I haven't returned ever since. I used to like coming here but after that incident, not anymore.
Just giving you guys a headsup about the dealers there.
I give this place 5 stars...because I went there tonight and I won $28. I'm rich, biatch!
I smell like the Marlboro man right now though...eeeeewwwww.
This place looks old! The slots resemble 1980s slot machines. The casinos is spread throughout several small rooms, which I didn't like. I played ca craps and blackjack. Nice to have $5 tables. Every dealer was extremely helpful, friendly, and/or funny. I'd go back, but prefer more modern places with younger folks.
This casino does SUCK as other reviews have pointed out. The food and beverage manager David Gilbert should be fired. We saw him berate a bartender right in front of us.
What kind of guest service is it when a manager (David Gilbert) starts yelling at a bartender right in front of casino guests. We all felt so bad for the bartender. When what happened turn out not to be the bartender's fault Mr. Gilbert did not even apologize to him.
We ended up leaving Viejas because of the unprofessional behavior Mr. Gilbert displayed. His behavior destroyed our mood along with 3 other casino guests that left as well. Mr. Gilbert single handedly made 7 of us to decide to leave because he ruined the happy and festive mood we had before he showed up.
what a TERRIBLE casino.
The Viejas tribe must be filthy rich, those old ladies.
i NEVER win here. their poker room is decent, but the players aren't so much. and the wait sucks also. their blackjack dealers are no fun. and their slots are tight. and did i mention the casino is a freakin' maze? i bet they make it that way so that people can't find their way out.
oh, and parking sucks too.
V bar FOOD:
1.) Mediterranean Pizza = omg so good! The toppings were fresh & with big chunks! mmmm olives, tomato, artichoke hearts, red onion, & feta cheese =P*
SERVICE:
Eh, she had a bitch aura lol And it took a while before we were served
ATMOSPHERE:
The bar had a trendy decor, with soft neon wall lights, plenty of plush seats, candle lit.. Also had live music that covered modern soft pop rock songs. Cool place to kick it I guess, but the casino makes your clothes smell weird & it's kinda too loud to talk comfortably.
Smoky, crowded and not the loosest slots.
I've been here a lot over the years and have a good time. But I'm starting to think that since the casino is so accessible to people right off the freeways, the machines aren't the loosest. I really have a hard time winning here. I play video poker only and lose almost every time.
But other than that, there's really not much else going on here. The waitresses with the free drinks are hard to find (they do exist) and the smoke gets to you after a while. However, they do have a free soft drink machine upstairs near the sportsbook. Pick up a cup and select what you like. It's like AM/PM!
The Best Casino in San Diego.... Viejas Rocks!
This is a nice casino... the employees are VERY FRIENDLY and HELPFUL and I enjoy my visits each time.
In one section of slots they have the "Star Wars" machines (I've never won anything off of them) but I LOVE the life-size Yoda's... REALLY COO! "Use the Force and Win!"
I've played Bingo there twice... the first time I WON THREE GAMES IN A ROW (total of $750) so I was pretty excited. I used the portable computer terminal... the only way to play in my opinion! They give free sodas and coffee for players. The Bingo workers are AMAZINGLY helpful! THANK YOU!
I love the interior design and architecture ... the go-go lounge (I forget the name) is pretty cool with live music and dancers... Halloween Costume contests etc. There is also another smaller stage area with some good bands that are nice to listen to. (I think people dance there too).
The few times I've eaten there I wasn't too impressed. I wouldn't make a trip just to eat.
Overall... a very nice place to go.
Okay, Viejas is pretty average in all aspects except for one thing: the poker room. Viejas does something that the rest of the casinos in San Diego cannot provide, great poker and a self-service soda machine where you can drink all the free soda your pancreas can tolerate.
If you're a beginner at tournament poker, Sunday morning tournament is the place to be. It's around $20 but if you refer someone to get their membership card your entrance and the person your referred play for free! On top of that, they have what are called bounties where each time you eliminate someone, the dealer pays you $5.
What do all these liberal stipulations mean? It means that you can seriously make money, playing for free, by eliminating people and better yet just winning the whole tournament. How great is that?
During college, my poker buddies and I would carpool here and end up leaving on average $20 richer and having more tournament experience that is literally priceless. If you don't find this a crazy bargain, you may as well rob a gun store with a pocket knife.
My husband and I have been coming here for years and always have a good time (unless we lose too much money!). We like to play at the black jack tables. The dealers are real nice. We like the slot machines too, especially the ones with different games to choose from. They serve alcohol here. We don't usually get any, but it's nice to be able to. They have a good buffet with a big selection of items. Having the outlet center across the street is great. We've gone there several times to walk around, shop and have lunch.
I liked Barona better, although I don't gamble. We decided to go here for the dollar black jacks, thus the 2 stars. My friend pointed out that there were a lot of ugly people here, haha ! Which is so gosh damn true ! I mean, do gamblers have to look so ugly ?? Anyway, there were a lot of rude smokers. I know, I know, it's a casino what did I expect. But really, they huff and they puff right in front of your face. It gave me a headache and a tummy ache that's what =/ One of the black jack dealer, named David, was really nice though. He gave recommendations to the BF and he won the round. If I didn't know better I'd say he was helping us win ! It took awhile for us to get open seats at a black jack table, though. The drawback is that they charge you 25 cents for each round. One table didn't though. I've seen bigger casinos both at Barona and the ones in Vegas; this one didn't have much variety in the slot machines. Oh yeah, they didn't serve drinks on carts for free either. They do have 'service' though but I wasn't too sure if they charged so I didn't bother with a drink, haha.
I HATE this casino, its not fun at all ... I have been to Vegas so maybe that has to do with what I think about this place.. I am acustomed to have a nice lady offer me a drink while I am giving my money a way on a stupid slot (no free drinks on casino), also I love a good gourmet-y buffet... what a joke! this buffet (called Harvest) sucks: no variety or quality, please dont eat there!
The Casino itself has no vibe (at least for me) and its not like its my first time there and then comes my review, oh no! I have been there a good 3 times (enough for me) and I know what you are thinking :if she hates it so much why come back? well... family you know... its complicated sometimes to say no.. and mainly because the other 2 times I went was in the day-time and AT LEAST I had the Viejas Outlets a cross the street to waste my time in, but of course they close at 9pm.. and believe me Las Americas Outlets are waaaaaaaay better (Last USA exit going I-5 south towards Mexico).
