Review from Kristin V.
Arlington, VA
I stopped by Victory Comics this afternoon shopping for Flash comic books for a play i am working on. I must have looked lost/confused because immediately someone asked if they could help me. The staff there was incredibly friendly and helpful and i got the sense that they really love working there and care about their jobs. I would recommend this place to anyone and would come here again. :)

Great place for comic book and gaming geeks like me. They provide a room of tables for gaming and it seemed to be pretty well used when I went.

Very clean, organized, wide open comic book store that offers a little bit of everything.
One of the main selling points of the store is the giant gaming area, which has tons of room for tables for large gaming events. Odd, thought, that they go light on Heroclix (and sell no singles).
Their merchandise is pretty extensive - they sell comic pint glasses, some sports cards, a good array of action figures from the last 20-25 years, some manga, and so forth.
Finding a parking space isn't a lot of fun. Victory Comics is next door to a mechanic, and spaces are at a premium. -

Great comic book shop with a wide variety of new and used comics. They also have a good amount of games, gaming supplies, and a gaming room for said games.
I didn't get caught up in much conversation with any employee in the shop but they asked me right away if I needed any help and made themselves available for any questions I might have.
Its refreshing to walk into a comic book shop and not feel cramped. Even though its not cramped it has plenty of stuff to fill the shelves. This is a great shop -

Fantastic shop with an incredible selection of back issues, TPBs, action figures and other comic-related miscellanea. Staff is friendly and doesn't pressure the customer; they are extraordinarily knowledgeable about their inventory as well. Comics are well organized with like-titles shelved together. Victory Comics shares the parking lot with a used-car dealer so parking is limited although there is free street parking in the vicinity. Overall one of the best comic shops I've been too.

This store had me the second I walked in- it's quite expansive, well stocked and easy to navigate. The staff is helpful and were happy to place an order for items I didn't find- I definitely walked away with much more than I originally intended.
I look forward to being a regular. -

Took my two boys (7 and 11) for their first trip to a comic book store. Staff was very helpful, asked if they could help as soon as we walked in. Helped make sure the boys found comics they really liked. Great selection of comics, plus figures, cards, board games, and memorabilia. Definitely will be back. Highly recommend for newbies looking for guidance.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would and that's a rarity for me. I can, generally, find something wrong with anything but this is THE BEST gaming/comic store you will find in the Metro DC area.
As others have said, not only is the staff here friendly, but very very knowledgeable. They have the store sectioned by games and comics, so it's easy to spend a good hour plus just browsing before spending another 30 minutes deciding what you want to buy.
Their collection of action figures is impressive and their board game collection is diverse. Josh, the guy who runs the game section, is more than willing to offer his insights into what kind of game may be good for you based on your likes/dislikes.
For what it's worth, I find titles I want to buy on Amazon and head directly to Victory Comics to actually purchase the product. This place is such a resource that it worth it to give them my money and support the local, northern Virginia, economy.
J. Rambo is probably the best game store employee you will ever come across. Personable and accessible, he really DOES make the store. Someone needs to give him a raise.
As another reviewer said, it would be nice if they had a calendar of events available or even a mailing list where you could sign up to receive information about upcoming merchandise and events making appearances at their shop.
They could also use some baskets. LOL!
Clean and bright. Forget Game Parlor or any other institution in the area. Hands down, no contest, Victory Comics is where you WANT to be. -

Nice store interesting location. The staff member didnt seem to interested in helping me. My biggest draw to a comic shop is whether or not the member of the store will greet me and ask what I am here for. The store seemed to be lacking a variety of new comics which was a tad disappointing.
The toys were interesting and they did show off quite a massive collection of rare comics.
I dont think I will go to this store again because of the cold atmosphere but anyone who is in the area may enjoy the gaming center and the collection of collectibles. -

I'm an old school comic guy and I can say that this place rocks! The store is huge and has a huge selection of trades and new comics.
The gaming side is also impressive - boasting an entire room with tables where gamers play everything including Heroclix, Magic, and Warhammer.
The one thing I'd love to see from this place is a schedule of events published somewhere - they run tournaments for various games but you have to be "in the know" for some of them.
There's also a weird baseball card section which looks like it's a work in progress.
Lastly, if you buy a lot of stuff - they have a discount program which is worth it considering the price of games - $25 gets you 10% off for a year. -

I am used to old grungy comic book stores in NYC, so I was surprised at this very nicely lit and clean spot in Falls Church. Very nice and helpful staff guided me and my son to a good startup comic book for his age range

It's a nice comic shop. Everything is nicely organized. When you enter the staff say if u need any help. overall the staff is ok. You can spend hours here from looking through the back issues, to looking at figures and cards, etc. Its pretty great got some great comics from the golden- modern age comics., but be aware the back issues can be overpriced! Sadly they always run out of comics, and occasionally forget to order which sucks!

Hopefully this review doesn't cost me all of my "cool points".
After a great trip to the Shoff Promotions comic and sports card show in Tysons Corner this past Sunday (also after a "meal of champions" at Long John Silvers), we were handed a flier for a brand new comic and sports card store in Falls Church. Since that was kind of on the way back to Arlington, what could it hurt to stop and check it out? It didn't hurt that the flier offered $4.95 off any purchase.
Victory Comics is located on Washington Street, almost next to Elevation Burger. It has a large, spacious building, which is very much unlike other local comic stores (cough... Collectorama...). They clearly gutted whatever store was there before, painted the walls, laid down wood laminate flooring and put new lighting in. Their hard work shows, as the interior is very nice and welcoming. There is plenty of room to dig through the back issues without crowding. The store also has a large collection of trade paperbacks, compilations, collectible figurines, board games and current comics (along with a subscription service). I am not too into comics, so I left my friend to go browse. I checked out the sports card counter and was slightly disappointed. The only recent product offered was the base Topps and Upper Deck packs for this year. They have a very large supply of junk wax from the early to mid 90's that is luckily priced appropriately (between $5-10 per box). I am hoping that since the store is new, they plan on expanding their current product selection. I opted for my two packs of Upper Deck, got my $4.95 off, and left happy.
Victory Comics is now the best all around omic store in the Northern Virginia area. They might not have the biggest selection of back issues, but my friend soundly approved of their selection. As soon as they improve their sports card area, I think this could become a 5 star entry.
I'll add that it's probably another plus that visiting Victory Comics gives me another chance to make an excuse to eat at nearby guilty pleasure, Long John Silvers. -

I've now been to the store a few times and have played in a FNM and I have to say that I have been very impressed with the store. The owner is incredibly nice and extremely helpful. Further, he has adapted very quickly to the potential market for gaming in the area. There are at least two direct competitors within 1/4 of a mile, but the owner has acted quickly in attracting a strong group of gamers and has begun to carry single MTG cards, which the others in the area do not. I'll be a regular from here out.
